POW/MIARally for Bowe Bergdahl June 30th Itis a GO. I just got off the phone with Ken Lucas, Commissioner- Kentucky Dept.of Veterans Affairs. Gov. Beshear has a prior commitment on June 30th and willnot be in Frankfort. Commissioner Lucas is eager to meet with us in place ofthe governor. Ken Lucas has been a friend for many years. He is a veteran and aformer Kentucky Congressman.

We have agreed to meet in Frankfort, KY at the KentuckyVietnam Veterans Memorial (East-West Connector 676). at 2:00 EST on ThursdayJune 30. This is the anniversary date of Afghanistan POW Bowe Bergdahl’s captureby the Taliban (captured 6-30-09). We are pulling out of Afghanistan soon, sotime is running out for POW Bowe Bergdahl from Hailey, Idaho.

The reason we are meeting at the KY Vietnam VeteransMemorial is because there are a lot of similarities (walked off, took offclothes, deserted while drunk, and other lies put out by our rumor makers inthe past wars about POW/MIAs) with POW Bergdahl and our Vietnam POWs. This willbe a support rally to inform everyone on Bergdahl and the plan we are about toimplement to hopefully bring him home alive.

We need everyone to call the TV stations in Lexington,KY -WDKY-56 (859) 268-1234, WKYT-27 (859) 299-0411, WTVQ-36 (859) 299-3636, WLEX-18(859) 361-1203; newspaper – Lexington Herald Leader, (859) 231-1468 and radiostations. Ask for the news desk and leave the message that there will be asupport rally to honor an American soldier that has been held as a POW by theTaliban for two years on June 30th, 2011. We need news coverage and the morecalls the better. The Lexington TV, Radio, and Newspapers need a flood of callsasking that they cover this historic event.

Contact information and routes coming to Frankfort to theVietnam Veterans Memorial:

Greasy (606-845-0435) leaving Mt. Sterling from BP/Days Innparking lot at 11:45 A.M.

Mark Hawkins (859-339-7687) leaving Clay City from AmVetsPost 67 at 11:30 A.M.

Anyone wanting to meet us along the way traveling from theeast on I-64, we will be going through Winchester about 12:00 noon andLexington about 12:15 P.M. Be at a safe area where you can see us coming andpull in with the convoy.

Charley Datillo (502-314-7501) leaving Louisville, KY fromBluegrass Harley Davidson on Blankenbaker Rd. at 11:30 A.M.

EVERYONE with any mode of transportation is welcome andencouraged to go with us or meet us at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial inFrankfort, KY.

This may be the last effort we have time for to get a liveAmerican POW home before he is abandoned to a fate worse than death.

Danny “Greasy” Belcher, Executive Director Executive Director,Task Force Omega of KY Inc.

VietnamInfantry Sgt. 68-69

“D”Troop 7th Sqdn. 1st Air Cav.

Sofar I have heard from several people across Kentucky and other states who arecoming to Kentucky for the Rally to Support Afghanistan POW Bowe Bergdahl. BillSharpness from the northern border of Illinois, Cowboy from Indianapolis, andothers are making an extra effort to bring attention to a live POW we may leavebehind as we have after our other wars.

Ihave heard the usual misinformation that is put out to blame the POW and savehis commanders’ asses. The list goes from ridiculous to outright silly. Any soldierwho has ever been in the bush can see through this bull.

Hemay have got drunk and walked off–Where were his commanders who were incharge? If the first lie is correct they should have been charged. They werenot. He took off his clothes and walked off–Sure and he left to find a lovelycamel and live happily ever after. When you are captured the first thing theenemy does is remove your clothes and put their local clothes on you so thatyou are not easily recognized. He may have cracked up and walked away–Sure, and his company doctor was the murdering doctor at Ft. Hood.  He was allowed to be in a bad situtation andwas captured. Where are his superiors? Why was this allowed to happen? Someonesure was not a good superior to allow a young private to be this vulnerable ina war. POW Bowe Bergdahl’s chain of command sure had a bunch of weak links.

Andlet’s not forget that the Department of Defense is doing all they can to gethim back. Bull. The orders must come from the President or Secretary of Stateto negotiate or rescue him. I personally heard that answer in a meeting inWashington, DC some years ago as the question was asked of a governmentrepresentative during a POW/MIA meeting. Where does the decision have to comefrom to rescue a live POW was the question.

POWBowe Bergdahl was captured and the person with him killed. In past wars whensomeone was captured, we have several cases where they were accused ofdesertion. Later on, as information was declassified, we learned that they didnot desert. It is too easy to discredit the soldier than to try to rescue ortrade for them. Too damn convenient and a very dishonorable way to treat ourmilitary.

Afterthe Rally, we will travel to Wilmore, Kentucky to visit the residents at theThompson-Hood Veterans Home. Everyone is welcome to go with us. Our POWs areabandoned in foreign lands. Some of our veterans have been abandoned by thepeople they protected. Many of these residents have no visitors. Their familiesand friends are dead or just do not come to see them. Stopping by when we canto say hello to them is the least we can do.

Theydo not need to be abandoned and forgotten like our POW/MIAs.

TORNADOPUTS A TWIST ON TRADITIONAL JACKETS– Scorpion’s Top Textile Jacket Lake Forest, CA June 23, 2011 — Scorpion’sTornado textile jacket puts a new spin on the traditional motorcycle jacket, combining top features with incredibly low prices. “This jacket has it all…waterproofing, CE-approved armor, you name it,” says Scorpion Sports Inc.National Sales Manager Jon Eide. “The range of features we have incorporatedinto the Tornado for a price well under $200 really does blow me away.”

Starting with durable 600-denier nylon, the outershell is then treated withpolyurethane for true water resistance, no matter how inclement the ridingconditions may get. Internally, the fully removable AirGuard liner helpsprevent wind chill from becoming a factor. When things do warm up, Scorpion’sAirVent™ ventilation system kicks in. Consisting of two zippered high-flow airintake panels in the front of the jacket and two matching rear vents, airflowover the body’s core is maximized when the panels are unzipped. Should it getchilly, simply zip-up to seal out any unwanted airflow.

Speaking of sealing things up, Scorpion’s exclusive ExoStitch® seams notonly improve the seal, but also keep cuffs from fraying or seams for givingway. “It is this attention to detail that really differentiates the Tornado,”claims Jon.

“Sure the AirVent system is cool, but this is a serious riding jacket, so wedidn’t skimp on the EXO-Tec CE-approved armor inside the shoulder and elbowpockets,” adds Eide. Further enhancing the safety aspect is a full-length backprotector pocket, complete with a P.E. temper foam insert.

The Tornado offers its own unique styling twists and technical features, including adjustable sleeve tension straps for a custom fit… and to keep thingsfrom flapping in the breeze. Large zippered hand-warmer pockets and NightVizreflective panel front also add to this jacket’s functionality.

Editor’sNote: Please pay particular attention to PresidentialAppointment Efficiency and Streamlining Act of 2011 – S.679.This bill would eliminate the Congressional oversight for many of the unelectedbureaucrats. By doing so we are giving up OUR voice to oppose or support aparticular nominee through our U.S. Senators. If we continue to allow this typeloss of the system of checks and balances within our government then we willcontinue to slide into a dictatorial style of government where nearly allauthority is vested in the executive branch.

Some may ask how does this affect motorcyclists? Well many of thetop folks at the USDOT, NHTSA, EPA and other agencies are all appointed. Someof these folks have had directly opposing views to ours such asregarding helmets, emission testing and other subjects.Through the confirmationprocess we have been able to weigh in via our US Senators as to whether theseindividuals should be allowed to take the appointed position. Do NOT give upyour voice. Call and Oppose S.679.

You can find the email, phone numbers and more to contact Sen McConnell andSen. Paul at http://senate.gov/

S. 679 is on the agenda for consideration today Thursday 6-23-11.

PasadenaChalk & Car sho 6-19-11– Sundaywas a car show in Pasadena. Also it was the sidewalk chalk festival.  I’m sure you can tell the difference.
