Plus the show circuits will kick off in the next couple of months. Hell Bob Kay is back with the IMS shows, Jeff Najar shifted to AMD and hang on for the new custom bikes being built around the country.
I’m watching a documentary series on the internet and the digital world. Think about this statement. Artificial Intelligence has the capability to share learning across the enter platform immediately, something humans can’t do. So, if an automated car learns something today, theoretically all automated cars on the planet could learn the same thing in a minute. Think about that for a second.

Just about 10 miles south of Sarande is Butrint, some of the most incredible ancient ruins in Albania and the Balkans. So with most of my gear unpacked and safe in my hotel room, I follow the coast south to Butrint.
I’m told that to explore and experience the ancient site, I’d need to plan at least ninety minutes.

NEWS FROM THE CLIMATE DEPOT– Arctic Summer Sea Ice Growth Trend Extends Another Year …Greenland Summer One Of Coldest In 30 Years!
As the Arctic summer ice melt approaches its peak, we can say with high certainty that this year’s ice melt will extend the trend of a rebounding Arctic ice mass by another year.

Our Japanese skeptic blogger and good friend Kirye reports using the data from the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) that peak summer Arctic sea ice volume upward growth trend has been extended yet another year – now 12 years.

Thus Arctic sea ice melt has defied the hysterical claims of disappearing sea ice made since the release of Al Gore’s climate propaganda film An Inconvenient Truth, shocking a number of experts.
Naturally alarmists, wishing all this good news away, like to roll out the PIOMASS chart to keep the alarms on life support. However, the PIOMASS chart conveniently only goes back to the peak of Arctic sea ice, 1980.
If the alarmists want us to go back and look long-term, then let’s at least go back to 1900. What follows is a chart depicting Arctic sea ice extent going back to 1900:
As the above chart shows, Arctic sea ice extent was similarly low some 90 years ago, a time when atmospheric CO2 was at what we are told are climatically very “safe levels”.
Sea ice has nothing to do with atmospheric CO2.
Obviously CO2 has virtually nothing to do with Arctic sea ice extent. Rather it behaves in response to other far more powerful natural cycles, namely oceanic cycles.
The following chart depicts Arctic sea ice volume compared to Atlantic sea surface temperature cycles, called the AMO:
Arctic sea ice extent is clearly driven by the natural temperature cycles of the North Atlantic.
Obviously the correlation between cyclic North Atlantic sea surface temperatures and Arctic sea ice extent are stunningly strong.
Greenland summer: one of the coldest in the past 30 years
Greenland is now seeing very cold temperature anomalies as well, a condition that Joe Bastardi of Weatherbell says will persist for a couple of weeks, tweeting here that there will be “very cold weather for the next 10-15 days”:

The Transcontinental Motorcycle Cannonball Run V Schedule–Jason Sims, owner of the Motorcycle Cannonball Run, has announced that the fifth iteration of the world-famous transcontinental endurance run for vintage motorcycles is set.
On September 7, riders from around the world will line up to take the green flag from Portland, Maine and finish 16 days later in Portland, Oregon.
The Motorcycle Cannonball Run is known as the most difficult antique motorcycle run in the world and this year will include a variety of marques produced before 1929 with entrants coming to America from 6 countries. The riders will cover some 3,674 miles by the time they complete their journey on September 23.
Sims has extended an open invitation to the public to come out to see the antique motorcycles and visit with the riders at various stops along the way. At these hosted events, citizens will be able to meet their favorite riders in person and share in the excitement by cheering the travelers on as they make their way across these great United States.
Fans are invited to help kick off the celebrated journey at the famous and scenic Bug Light Park in Portland, Maine as riders gather for a group photo on September 7 at 1:00pm. A week into travel, riders will have a day of rest, repairs, and some scheduled festivities after a ceremonial finish on Harley-Davidson Way in the well-known motorcycle town of Sturgis, SD on September 16.

One seat? 240 tire? forward controls and drag bars, the flying V that every body hated about the V Rod?
All this stuff is yesterday and it was a bad fad then that went away? Suprised they didn’t stretch the tank.
Install a nice cool Le Pera cobra tuck and roll two up seat, quick. As every guy wants a bike to impress chicks, in the back of his mind and most have a partner who wants to ride. That shit went away when they put a speaker in iPhones, paint it candy blue, black or green, put a small fairing with a phone jack and a holder for your phone to play music.
Hide some small speakers somewhere, make it sound like a Harley without having to pay thousands for new pipes, air cleaner and brain box, mid controls or my god bring back kinda rear sets just to be creative, 6-inch z bars, make it lower to the ground so it is easier to handle the weight. The younger crowd isn’t looking for a Harley for canyon carving, or they will go buy an FZ 750 for that, so who really cars that it doesn’t scrape like Harley always have,
make it under $15,000 and the younger crowd might look at it.
But this thing is a bust– will never take off in 2018. But then what do I know. I have only been riding since 1965. Look back at what Honda did with the CB160 and the CB 305. They sold 100,000s.

115TH SAFETY ALERT, MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN–
A former Wauwatosa police office whose wife was on the back of his motorcycle was traveling east on St. Paul last night when the officer moved to his left to turn north onto Water Street. He did not know the tracks were there and could not see them because it was night time. His bike fell over and both were injured.
Five motorcyclists or bicyclists have been injured in this area, I am going to write the Mayor a letter to be hand delivered today asking the city do something to the trolley tracks to protect citizens and Harley Davidson 115th attendees from the trolley tracks.
A local website took my post warning of the danger down because I used the word “victim” when talking about the 6th and 7th people injured at St. Paul and Water Street. Whatever you can do to help will be appreciated.

Passing of Auntie ABATE aka Marlene Bautch–It is with great sadness that I must inform you that our “Auntie ABATE”, Marlene Bautch has lost her battle with cancer.
Marlene helped guide the direction of ABATE of WI over the last twenty-five years by doing the jobs of Recording Secretary, Newsletter Editor, and Office Manager alongside of six different Executive Directors and twelve elections. Until earlier this year she had attended over three hundred consecutive board of directors meetings acting as Secretary.
Marlene’s work extended far beyond her elected and appointed positions within ABATE of WI Inc. She was a staunch supporter of the Motorcycle Riders Foundation and presented at dozens of workshops hosted by the organization nationally. Several years ago she was awarded the MRF’s highest honor, The Farmer Award, for her work towards the success of the national motorcyclists’ rights movement.
As “Auntie ABATE”, Marlene sought to offer common sense advice about ABATE of WI and our issues through the words of a sweet old Polish auntie. Her adherence to the rules and bylaws of the organization may have ruffled a few feathers along the way but it also encouraged many regional leaders to work together to grow and make ABATE of WI the legislative powerhouse it is today.
Marlene’s support and knowledge of the organization helped everyone she worked with to maximize their already defective “volunteer gene”. Her tireless efforts towards the success of ABATE of WI will be greatly missed. It’s going to take a lot of effort to fill her shoes.
As more information becomes available from her family, ABATE of WI will be sharing it with our great extended family. We offer condolences to her husband Twit and ask that you respect his privacy at this time.
We will all miss you Marlene.

I am done with NFL football and encourage all like minded Americans to boycott the NFL as well.
National boycott of the NFL for Sunday November 12th, Veterans Day Weekend. Boycott all football telecast, all fans, all ticket holders, stay away from attending any games, let them play to empty stadiums. Pass this post along to all your friends and family. Society has trouble talking about police misconduct in any meaningful way. If we question police actions, it looks as if we don’t support them. In reality, most of us do support the brave men and women who put themselves on the line every day for our safety.
When traffic stops are the most common daily interface between law enforcement and the public, and charges of abuse stem from some of those interactions, overall police behavior is very much a motorists’ issue.
One of the best checks and balances against abusive behaviors or policies by public institutions is transparency. Often however it is a difficult commodity to come by.
California, for example, currently has the strictest state laws when it comes to protecting police confidentiality. Apparently this occurred in the 1970s after Los Angeles police officers shredded personnel records dating to the 1940s in order to avoid over 100 cases of police misconduct.
Due to pressure from the police union, state lawmakers then passed a law that ensured officer discipline records would be preserved, while at the same time making it impossible for anyone outside of the chain of command to access them.
California lawmakers now are wrestling with a landmark effort to ease record disclosure regulations. They continue to run into fierce opposition from police unions. Legislators have countered by stating that police are out of touch with public sentiment over how officers use profiling techniques and force.
Public disclosure of police misconduct is just one basic element of oversight and is the law in many states. The problem in California is that its privacy laws for disclosure are also those that keep necessary information from prosecutors who must disclose any relevant information to the defense about officers in a court case. This could have serious repercussions as recently seen this summer in Los Angeles and Orange Counties which have been rocked with false testimony scandals of sheriff’s deputies. This could result in hundreds of cases retried or dismissed.
Retrying cases due to police misconduct and victims of misconduct winning civil cases against police departments is expensive. Already this year, Chicago taxpayers have paid out $50 million to victims of such actions. Small towns that are sued sometimes lose their insurance and/or have to shut down their police departments entirely.
Citizen groups across the country are now taking action in asking for more police transparency.
In Nashville, Tennessee, a group called Community Oversight Now has had its petition certified by the Davidson County Election Committee that would allow a November referendum vote on the creation of a new civilian-led board giving the authority to review the actions of police. The local police union plans to sue to stop the referendum in court. Mayor David Briley supports the concept and vows to create a civilian oversight board by executive order if the referendum does not pass.
A statewide Virginia coalition of community activists is calling for more police accountability in Richmond and has sought, through the Freedom of Information Act, data on the city’s ‘stop and frisk’ program. The New Virginia Majority have been told that the department could not provide the data since the information has never been collected in a meaningful way. Police in Chesterfield and Henrico counties recently provided similar responses. Last year, the group was successful in petitioning the Richmond PD to provide its use-of-force and complaint data online.
As community groups demand more police transparency and protection of constitutional rights, there could well be more pushback from police unions and departments.
To do the difficult job that society has tasked them with, law enforcement agencies need to be morally, legally and culturally bound to report bad behavior. Reporting misconduct and brutality should never be an exception to the rule.
If the true cost of police misconduct were better understood, reform would be more readily accomplished to the benefit of the people as well as to the vast majority of law enforcement officers who discharge their duties with honor and respect.

Andrew Cuomo might have sought the Democratic nomination for president in 2020, said James Freeman, but he “just disqualified himself.” Last week, New York’s governor tried to embellish his progressive credentials by saying, “We’re not going to make America great again—it was never that great.” In a panic, Cuomo later clarified that he meant that America would be greater when everyone has “full equality.”
“Too late, The video of that quote will haunt him if he seeks higher office. As well it should. The U.S. is hardly a perfect nation, and it took a bloody civil war” to end the monstrous institution of slavery.”
But America’s contributions to human freedom and flourishing are without peer. “Billions of people are better off,” because of the U.S.’s critical role in defeating “the twin terrors” of the 20th century—Nazism and communism. The motorcyclist was headed east on St. Paul street. Client was attempting a lane switch in order to turn left onto Water street, when his front motorcycle tire became wedged in the streetcar tracks, causing him to be thrown from his motorcycle. This resulted in him landing in the opposite lane of traffic and a broken arm.
The city of Milwaukee originally had a streetcar system that opened over 150 years ago. The old system was closed in the 1950s. The modern Milwaukee Streetcar has been in development since 2016 and will begin official operation this fall. The Streetcar, also known as “The Hop MKE” has said that it will improve public transit and attract more talent, employers and tourists for the city.
A longtime supporter and presence in the motorcycle community, Hupy and Abraham has represented over 4,000 injured motorcyclists and this case is the first accident of its kind.
“Attorney Hupy stated, “I have been a vocal critic of the streetcar from beginning, because we have buses that do what streetcars can do without endangering motorcyclists and bicyclists.” There are concerns by others in the motorcycle community that these incidents will continue to happen due to the construction of the project.
The roots of Hupy and Abraham, S.C. can be traced back to the mid-1960s, with Attorney Hupy joining the firm in 1989. Some of Attorney Hupy’s notable cases include a $5 million result for a 16-year old after he was hit by a truck in Milwaukee, and an $18.2 million settlement after a trial against the federal government. He also obtained a $1.1 million verdict for an injured Wisconsin motorcyclist, which ended up being the largest settlement in Milwaukee County for that year.
Hupy and Abraham practices in the areas of car accidents, motorcycle accidents, dog bites, nursing home abuse and neglect, and other personal injury related categories. The law firm has collected over $1 billion in verdicts and settlements.

Both CEO’s indicated they both got hooked on motorcycles on small dirt bikes. Scott Wine indicated his first ride was a Honda 50 and Matt Levatich indicated his first ride was a 1973 TL125 Honda Dirt Bike at the age of 8.
Both CEO’s indicate a key to this industry is to get “young butts on seats”, however, both fail to have products that do get “young butts on seats”. What’s up with this?
Are they both relying on Honda/Yamaha to get butts on their seats or should one of these American brands have motorcycles that organically cultivate new and younger riders for their brand in their dealerships?
News Flash; There is a small American Dirt-bike manufacturer in Utah, ATK, that has manufactured over 18,000 Dirt-bikes (50cc to 700cc) in the USA since 1985. ATK is the third member of the United States Motorcycle Manufacturers Association, the others being; Harley-Davidson and Polaris/Indian. ATK makes motorcycles / minibikes that do get “young butts on seats”, that actually could organically cultivate new and much younger riders in their dealerships? Research indicates most people learn to ride as kids on dirt bikes.
ATK is no stranger to Harley-Davidson or Polaris/Indian. According to ATK’s CEO, Frank White, “We at ATK have sold either Dirtbikes, Dual Sport, Minibikes or small 250cc streetbikes to over 260 Harley Dealerships since 1985 and many of our dealers have Polaris too”. Why hasn’t Harley-Davidson or Polaris/Indian purchased the only American Off-Road Brand ATK to create new riders?

While there are any number of dirt-bike makers, there’s only one that’s a member of the U.S. Motorcycle Manufacturers Association, ATK Motorcycles. Along with Harley-Davidson and Polaris Industries, they comprise the triumvirate of the U.S. bike industry.
Making a play for ATK instead of Ducati would zero in on exactly what Harley and the motorcycle industry need and keeps its “made in America” heritage intact. It would also undoubtedly be available for substantially less than the $1.7 billion Ducati is reportedly seeking..
Harley-Davidson knows it needs younger bike riders as its core customer are aging rapidly and selling off their bikes. Still, even buying a dirt-bike manufacturer is a long-term solution to its woes and not anything that will help this quarter or even this year. But it would give Harley’s dealers the chance to offer customers a range of motorcycles depending upon where they are in their riding career.
The time to make an impression on new riders is when they’re kids, and off-road dirt bikes are where many riders got their first taste of “the awesome thing that is riding.”

A day after President Trump announced a preliminary trade deal with Mexico, news broke that consumer confidence in August has reached its highest level since October 2000, CNBC reports.

SPEAKING OF WEATHER–When you read this, you will never think of Thunderstorms the same way again.
A little girl walked to and from school daily. Though the weather that morning was questionable and clouds were forming, she made her daily trek to school. As the afternoon progressed, the winds whipped up, along with lightning.
The mother of the little girl felt concerned that her daughter would be frightened as she walked home from school. She also feared the electrical storm might harm her child. Full of concern, the mother got into her car and quickly drove along the route to her child’s school. As she did, she saw her little girl walking along.
At each flash of lightning, the child would stop, look up, and smile. More lighting followed quickly and with each, the little girl would look at the streak of light and smile.
When the mother drew up beside the child, she lowered the window and called, “What are you doing?”
The child answered, “I am trying to look pretty because God keeps taking my picture.”

1. Pants won’t pull up far enough for them to straddle the seat.
2. Can’t get their phone to their ear with a helmet on.
3. Can’t use two hands to eat while driving.
4. They don’t get a trophy and a recognition plaque just for buying one.
5. Don’t have enough muscle to hold the bike up when stopped.
6. Might have a bug hit them in the face and then they would need emergency care.
7. Motorcycles don’t have air conditioning.
8. They can’t afford one because they spent 12 years in college trying to get a degree in Humanities, Social Studies or Gender Studies for which no jobs are available.
9. They are allergic to fresh air.
10. Their pajamas get caught on the exhaust pipes.
11. They might get their hands dirty checking the oil.
12. The handlebars have buttons and levers and cannot be controlled by touch-screen.
13. You have to shift manually and use something called a clutch.
14. It’s too hard to take selfies while riding.
15. They don’t come with training wheels like their bicycles did.
16. Motorcycles don’t have power steering or power brakes.
17. Their nose ring interferes with the face shield.
18. They would have to use leg muscle to back up.

A friend of mine, we were stationed on the USS Saint Francis River LSMR 525. His name was Conner and had a close friend Tyler.
They came and visited me up in Riverside after we came back from Vietnam it was 1970. Connor had just bought a CB750 and Tyler had just bought a Norton Camando 750.
Connor told me to take a ride on his CB750. He said you won’t believe it. I remember getting on it and starting it. It was amazing how quick the engine reved up. I remember how smooth it was going down the road and the power was something.
I remember getting use to it and opened it up. I remember looking down at the speedo and it was incredible 80 mph in seconds. I will always remember that experience and my two friends from South Carolina. Thanks Connor for that memory.
This article had reminded me of those times we served together. I hope there still out there somewhere.

THE AUSTRALIAN CLUB FILES–Booting bikies* a boon
Deporting foreign crooks including bikies from Australia delivers big savings. Hundreds of millions of dollars have been saved by deporting 3600 foreign-born criminals in the past 3½ years. Since December 2014, visas are able to be cancelled or denied on character grounds, including current or former membership of groups reasonably suspected of involvement in crime such as bikie gangs. (Bikie gangs are all the M/Cs the government has chosen to include, some 44 of them).
By June 30th this year, 3687 foreign-born criminals, 627 of them from the state of Victoria, had been deported. Of those, 1219 were guilty of assaults, grievous bodily harm, family violence or other violence; 633 were drug dealers; 151 were rapists; 98 were killers; 1586 were guilty of theft, robbery and white collar and other crime.
Australian Institute of Criminology Research requested by the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission, found cancelling and refusing visas of just 139 bikies and 45 other organized crime offenders – 24 of whom were from Victoria – had saved taxpayers an estimated $116 million dollars.
The AIC found: bikies commit more crime, and more serious crime, than other organized crime figures. By age 60, the average bikie will have spent almost seven years in jail at a cost to the taxpayers of $800,000-plus each. Cancelling a bikie’s visa at 20 would save the taxpayer and average of $1.3,million per offender.
Crimes by bikies cost an average of $526,462 each and they are significantly more likely to commit violent crime than other organized crime figures. Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton said that bikies were the nation’s main drug importers and distributors. The research on these matters was based on a sample of 6154 offenders responsible for 97,706 offences committed by 611 bikies and 5543 other organized crime figures.
* Bikies – a term labelling all members of outlaw (and outlawed) club members. According to the Australian Crime Commission, outlaw motorcycle club gangs (OMCGs) are among the most identifiable components of Australia’s criminal landscape.
The ACC says OCMGs are active in all states and territories and lists 44 as being of interest, with a total of 179 chapters and 4,483 members.
The Rebels gang boasts by far the biggest membership, at 25 per cent of the total, while the Bandidos have 7 per cent, the Outlaws and Hells Angels 6 per cent, Lone Wolf 5 per cent and Comancheros 5 per cent.

And for all the drama the cameras captured, there was even more happening when they were turned off. This is the story of American Chopper you didn’t get to see. Your jaw will drop when you learn how many times the Teutuls have been sued!
Paul Senior Passed His Addiction Habits Onto His Sons
No one on American Chopper had a bigger personality than Paul Sr. Unfortunately, he also had a problem with addiction and spent 15 years addicted to alcohol before going to rehab. In true Paul fashion, he hated the idea of rehab but went to save his marriage.
Before going, Paul threw himself one last rager. By the time Paul cleaned himself up, he had passed his bad habits onto his sons. Paul Jr. entered rehab at 16-years-old. Next, the story of how the father and son fighting almost ended the show.
During the run of the show, the feud between Paul Sr. and Paul Jr. grew so toxic that the father fired his son. TLC threatened to end the show if Paul Jr. wasn’t re-hired. According to the network, their contracts called for both men to participate in the show.
When Paul Sr. refused, TLC filed a notice of default. The show was canceled until Paul began using his son as a contractor, allowing him to appear on the show without being a member of the motorcycle shop.
In 2010, Paul Jr. married Rachael Biester, his girlfriend of two years. The pair met while American Chopper was filming and fell in love instantly. Unfortunately, the wedding took place at the same time Paul Sr. was battling Paul Jr. in court.
Because of the timing of the wedding and emotions of the feud, Paul Sr. chose not to attend his son’s wedding. Looking back on it, he probably regrets the decision, but there’s nothing he can do about it now.

US Economic Growth in the 2nd Quarter Gets Revised Higher, Remains Strongest Since 2014
“The US economy in the second quarter grew even faster than initially estimated, according to a Commerce Department report released Wednesday,” Akin Oyedele reports for Business Insider.
“Gross domestic product, the value of every good and service produced domestically, rose at an annual rate of 4.2%, the Commerce Department said, its fastest growth since the third quarter of 2014 . . . The April-to-June period was the first full quarter with the tax cuts signed by President Donald Trump in effect,” Oyedele explains.
“The vast majority of U.S. blue-collar workers say their lives are headed ‘in the right direction,’ according to the results of a poll released this week,” Katelyn Caralle reports in the Washington Examiner. “Eighty-five percent of these workers in America are optimistic regarding the direction of their lives, and 86 percent are satisfied with their jobs.” A majority also expressed optimism about the overall direction of the country, the survey showed.
The Associated Press reports that President Trump is awarding $91 million in grants to a record number of community anti-drug coalitions. “The White House says all 50 states will benefit from the grants from the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy that aim to ‘strengthen the infrastructure among local partners to create and sustain a reduction in local youth substance abuse.’”
The Investor’s Business Daily Editorial Board writes that household income has soared to all-time highs under President Trump. “Median household income is up more than 4%, the economy is growing fast, optimism is at decades long highs . . . Over the course of President Obama’s entire eight years in office, median household income climbed a mere 0.3%.”
In The Wall Street Journal, Lauren Weber reports that American workers have the highest job satisfaction since 2005. “Just more than half of U.S. workers—51%—said they were satisfied with their jobs in 2017, the highest level since 2005, according to a new report from The Conference Board,” she writes.
I read in the Week Magazine where Trump is working with the financial community to abolish the quarterly report system. It puts a great deal of strain on companies forced to show profits every quarter, rather than thinking of overall substantial growth. Interesting.–Bandit

I DON’T GET IT—On the other hand maybe I do. We are talking about artificial intelligence and self-driving cars, but we can’t fix the homeless issue, the drug problem, or the RV dwellers.
