CRAZY BIKERNET WEEKLY NEWS for September 26, 2019

Hey,

I apologize for not writing a Weekend Round-Up or posting a chapter about the Salt Torpedo. The week peeled away from me, and I had an ominous task on Wednesday. I had a VA hearing about my disability rating.

Although it all worked out, we fucked up and didn’t do the correct homework. I did some other homework with Dr. Hamster’s help, but it was for a claim, not the hearing. I have 60 days to procure the proper documents for the judge or die trying.

I was forced to crawl out of the sack at 5:30 for the 6:30 run to Wilshire Blvd. It took right at 2 hours to drive 28 miles. If I had walked out the door at 5:30 it would have taken 32 minutes, incredible.

This week was full of accomplishments and progress on the Salt Torpedo. The firewall is just about done, but I ran out of TIG welding fuel and had to haul the gigantic tank to the welding supply for a refill. We also had to run to Phillips Steel for a sheet of .090. They said they could bend it to our specifications. It’s taken longer, but I will pick it up tomorrow. Lead started to arrive this week, but the shipment was incorrect forcing me to reach out to the company for a fix.

I had my Nissan van serviced this week. Nissan has a problem. They claimed that the NV2500 would get 17-22 mpg. It doesn’t and folks complained, so they quickly changed the reports on the stickers to a notice that they will not publish this info because they are not reporting to the EPA. It’s bullshit, and I’ll bet they are about to get their asses sued. They can’t duck reporting.

Plus, by ducking the issue sales will plummet. Who is going to buy a van when they won’t tell you the mileage? I ended up making multiple trips to the dealer, before I could peel out to Wellington to find out about our Salt Shaker vinyl stickers and then to Phillips steel, where the short blonde smiled at me and said they haven’t picked up our shield yet. When she smiled, I melted and nodded and returned to my van empty-handed.

I’ll return everyday if she will always smile. Makes my day. Let’s hit the news:

NMA REPORT: BEWARE LICENSE PLATE READERS–Our worst fears about automatic license plate readers (ALPR) are coming to fruition, and no one in public understands just how much our privacy will be invaded.

This summer, I warned everyone on my blog, and in the NMA Weekly E-Newsletter #554, that police in Arizona were using ALPR’s to “grid” entire neighborhoods.

But the following news brings public surveillance to a whole new level.

Last month, Rekor Systems announced that they had launched the Rekor Public Safety Network (RPSN) which gives law enforcement real-time access to scanned license plates.

“Any state or local law enforcement agency participating in the RPSN will be able to access real-time data from any part of the network at no cost. The Company is initially launching the network by aggregating vehicle data from customers in over 30 states. With thousands of automatic license plate reading cameras currently in service that capture approximately 150 million plate reads per month, the network is expected to be live by the first quarter of 2020.”

RPSN is a 30-state, real-time law enforcement license plate database that contains the information of more than 150 million people.

And the scary thing—it is free!

“We don’t think our participants should be charged for accessing information from a network they contribute to, especially when it provides information that has proven its value in solving crimes and closing cases quickly,” said Robert A. Berman, President and CEO, Rekor.

Want to encourage law enforcement to spy on everyone? Give them free access to a massive license plate database.

RPSN’s AI software uses machine learning to predict when and where a hotlisted person or a person of interest will be.

“Rekor’s software, powered by artificial intelligence (“AI”) and machine learning, can also be added to existing law enforcement security camera networks to search for law enforcement related hotlists as well as Amber Alerts and registered sex offender motor vehicles.”

The Westchester County New York Police Department’s Real Time Crime Center alone collects “more than 25 million license plates each month.”

A post in Traffic Technology Today revealed that Rekor plans to go to great lengths to convince police departments to track millions of motorists.

“In 2020, the RPSN will be fully compliant with the federal 2019 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) law, which bans the use of certain foreign-manufactured cameras used in critical infrastructure.”

Rekor’s 2019 NDAA sales pitch, is both disturbing and despicable. It reveals just where they and law enforcement stand when it comes to using ALPR’s to spy on millions of motorists.

A recent article in The Newspaper.com revealed how police in Louisiana use license plate readers to track motorists in real-time. Eric J. Richard had been driving his white Buick LaCrosse on Interstate 10, when he was stopped by Louisiana State Police Trooper Luke Leger for allegedly following a truck too closely. During the roadside interrogation, the trooper asked where Richard was coming from.

“I was coming from my job right there in Vinton,” Richard replied. The trooper had already looked up the travel records for Richard’s car and already knew it had crossed into Louisiana from Texas earlier in the day. Based on this “apparent lie,” the trooper extended the traffic stop by asking more questions and calling in a drug dog.

The article goes on to say that police had no reason to track Mr. Richard, but they did so because they could.

And that should frighten everyone!

Rekor lets law enforcement know where your friends and family are, where your doctor’s office is, where you worship and where you buy groceries.

How is that for Orwellian?

It is time to face the facts: ALPRs are not about public safety. They constitute a massive surveillance system designed to let Big Brother track our every movement.

CLIMATE HYSTERIA REPORT–
Greta To UN: ‘How Dare You?… You Have Stolen My Dreams– Greta blistered the United Nations for stealing her childhood and dreams, claiming that we are on the verge of a mass extinction and climate apocalypse. She has no clue that the UN invented the climate hysteria scam in the first place. ? TN Editor

A visibly angry Greta Thunberg berated world leaders as she addressed a UN climate summit on Monday, accusing them of betraying her generation by failing to tackle greenhouse gas emissions and asking “How dare you?”

The Swedish teen, who has become the global face of the growing youth movement against climate inaction, began by telling her audience: “My message is that we’ll be watching you,” eliciting laughter.

But it was soon clear that the tone of the message would be very serious.

“This is all wrong. I shouldn’t be up here. I should be back at school on the other side of the ocean,” the 16-year-old, who is taking a year off from her studies, said.

“You come to us young people for hope. How dare you?” she thundered.

“You have stolen my dreams and my childhood with your empty words, yet I’m one of the lucky ones. People are suffering, people are dying, entire ecosystems are collapsing.

“We are in the beginning of a mass extinction, and all you can talk about is the money and fairy tales of eternal economic growth. How dare you!”

She added that in her talks with leaders, she had been told that the youth were being heard and the urgency was understood.

“But no matter how sad and angry I am, I do not want to believe that, because if you really understood the situation and still kept on failing to act, then you would be evil, and that I refuse to believe.”

Thunberg, who often appears uncomfortable in the limelight and is seen as a reluctant leader, then detailed the various targets that were being missed, heightening the risk of “irreversible chain reactions beyond human control.”

BIKERNET GUN NUT REPORT–The National Rifle Association (NRA) called Democratic presidential hopeful and former Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-Texas) the “salesman of the month” after an Arizona gun store capitalized on his proposed mandatory buyback of assault weapons.

Alpha Dog Guns in Tempe, Ariz., announced that just four hours after launching a promotional discount called the “Beto Special” — spurred by O’Rourke’s now-viral comments about his buyback proposal — it sold out of AR-15s and other rifles, owner Matt Boggs said Thursday on “Fox & Friends.”

The NRA tweeted a photo made to mock the former congressman by calling him the “AR-15 salesman of the month,” adding the caption: “Possibly even of the year.”

Boggs told Fox & Friends that the strategy didn’t mean to “be a political statement by any stretch of the imagination.”

“I just happened to hop on Facebook and see his comments, and I was like, ‘Well maybe I’ll sell 20 rifles and see what happens,’” he said.

O’Rourke made headlines last week for defending his proposed mandatory buyback program during the third round of Democratic presidential primary debates.

“I am, if it’s a weapon that’s designed to kill people on a battlefield. If the high-impact, high-velocity round shreds everything inside of your body … when we see that being used against children,” O’Rourke said, asked if he was proposing a mandatory government buyback of certain guns.

He continued: “Hell yes, we’re going to take your AR-15, your AK-47. We’re not going to allow it to be used against our fellow Americans anymore,” prompting cheers and applause from the audience.

A number of Democrats have come out in opposition to O’Rourke’s proposal, with Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) on Wednesday telling reporters that he doesn’t “know of any other Democrat who agrees” with O’Rourke’s proposal to confiscate assault-style weapons.

Cincinnati, Ohio Officials Working To Overturn Voter Will On Speed Cameras
Cincinnati, Ohio politicians are using taxpayer resources to overturn the public vote banning red light and speed cameras.

Greg Landsman

Members of the city council in Cincinnati, Ohio, have been trying to install speed cameras for more than a decade. Their plans were thwarted eleven years ago when residents learned of the council’s plan and circulated a petition eleven years ago that stripped the city council of the power to deploy automated ticketing machines. Voters endorsed that plan at the ballot box, adding the photo enforcement prohibition to the city charter. Now members of the city council are once again expending public resources to bypass the voters.

As reported by WCPO television, Cincinnati’s city manager in July put out a call to speed camera vendors to submit proposals for bringing photo radar back to the city of 300,000 residents.

“Responders should present information based on the parameters established in the RFI [request for information] rather than any current traffic enforcement authorization/description in the Cincinnati Charter,” the notice explained. “The primary objective of this Request for Information (RFI) is to obtain market information, feasibility, costs to the city, models and proposed options for revenue sharing, and interest from potential firms/vendors with the appropriate expertise to provide the city with services described herein.”

The city asked for information that would be needed to hit the ground running and set up the speed traps promptly, if the legal situation were to change.

“All responses to this RFI should contain, at a minimum, the following,” the city manager’s request stated. “Estimated revenue generation information (i.e. tools for estimating potential revenue generation) but also any costs the city should consider or may potentially incur; and, an estimated timeline needed to fully execute services.”

The last time that a photo ticketing company worked with Cincinnati politicians, there was bribery involved. John P. Raphael, the Ohio lobbyist for Redflex Traffic Systems, was convicted and imprisoned for his role in the Australian red light camera company’s corruption scheme. He admitted that he solicited bribes to entice city councilmen in Columbus and Cincinnati to endorse automated ticketing, but he refused to turn against the politicians he had influenced with campaign donations that were laundered through Raphael’s friends, family members and business contacts.

City councilman Greg Landsman, who was elected after the scandal, held a “pedestrian safety” townhall earlier this month that was designed to promote an effort to overturn the photo ticketing ban. The request for information from photo ticketing companies acknowledged that the city charter must be changed before cameras could be installed.

A diverse coalition of interest groups came together to ban speed cameras in Cincinnati in 2008, including the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), the Republican Party, the Green Party, the Libertarian Party, and others. The residents of Ashtabula, Cleveland, Chillicothe, Heath, Garfield Heights, Maple Heights, South Euclid and Steubenville also took matters into their own hands and forced the removal of automated ticketing machines through ballot initiatives.

NEW HAMPSHIRE TO MODERNIZE DMV IN WAKE OF DEADLY JUNE CRASH–
Following the deadly June 2019 crash that killed seven motorcyclists in New Hampshire, officials want to work with other states to prevent anything like this from happening ever again.

The truck driver currently facing seven charges of negligent homicide in those deaths — who had a Massachusetts-issued CDL — should not even have been driving, according to his combined driving record. The head of the Massachusetts DMV resigned and others at the agency were fired once this came to light.

Over the past few weeks, New Hampshire has also been conducting an internal review of its own DMV records and practices. On August 29, 2019, NH governor Chris Sununu gave a press conference with other top officials to share their findings. The results: nearly 4,000 drivers will have their licenses suspended following a review of over 13,000 out-of-state notices, as well as a backlog of 62 commercial license notices dating back to 2016.

One unintended and potentially good consequence of this terrible accident is that it’s led New Hampshire to modernize its DMV system and automate notices, so that paper backlogs like this can’t build up in the future. Additionally, the governor is now pushing the state legislature to allow the NH DMV to become part of a computerized state-to-state driver verification system using Real ID.

DON’T FORGET THE BANDIT’S CANTINA BAD JOKE LIBRARY– Irish Confession

I went into the confessional box after many years of being away from the Catholic Church.

Inside I found a fully equipped bar with Guinness on tap. On one wall, there was a row of decanters with fine Irish whiskey and Waterford crystal glasses. On the other wall was a dazzling array of the finest cigars and chocolates.

When the priest came in, I said to him, “Father, forgive me, for it’s been a very long time since I’ve been to confession, but I must first admit that the confessional box is much more inviting than it used to be.”

He replied, “You moron, you’re on my side.”

INDIAN WRECKING CREW RIDER BRIAR BAUMAN BATTLES THROUGH ADVERSITY TO CAPTURE FIRST AMERICAN FLAT TRACK GRAND NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

Three-for-Three: Indian Motorcycle Racing Clinches Third Consecutive Championship Since Returning
to Professional Flat Track Racing

Shakopee, Minn. (September 23, 2019) – On a night where Murphy’s Law seemed to be in full effect, Indian Motorcycle Wrecking Crew Rider Briar Bauman overcame enormous adversity to realize his lifelong dream of capturing a Grand National Championship (GNC). After a five-rider crash early in the main that sent him into the air fence, Bauman was forced to restart from the back of the pack, grinding his way through the field to a third place finish at the Minnesota Mile to capture his first American Flat Track (AFT) Grand National Championship and the third consecutive GNC for Indian Motorcycle Racing. Reigning AFT Twins Champion Jared Mees secured his seventh win of the season, but will reluctantly hand over the No. 1 plate to his factory teammate and good friend, Bauman.

Bauman’s crew rose to the occasion when it mattered most, racing against the clock to repair his Indian FTR750 in time for the restart and keep Bauman’s night from an anticlimactic ending. But the drama didn’t end there, as a second accident caused further delays and reduced the 25-lap Main event to just 15. Bauman’s ability to remain focused against all odds and make his way to the front of the pack within the shorter 15-lap format was indicative of the grit and determination that has marked his entire Championship season.

Following the race, Mees put his competitive interests aside in favor of friendship, celebrating with Bauman by sharing his well-deserved victory lap. The dramatic two-up victory lap left Bauman with tears of joy, as he celebrated with friends, family and teammates.

“I’ve dreamed of this my whole life,” said Bauman in his podium interview directly following the race. “I used to have posters of Bryan (Smith) and Jared (Mees) in my room growing up. And to win it… I can’t even put it into words.”

Since Indian Motorcycle’s return to professional flat track racing in 2017, the brand has been perfect, capturing all three Manufacturer’s Championships and all three AFT Twins titles. Mees won in convincing fashion in 2017, capturing 10 wins and setting an AFT record of 17 podium finishes. In 2018, with many of the sports privateers turning to the Indian FTR750, Mees repeated and retained the No. 1 plate. Now with Bauman’s first GNC, Indian completes another historic trifecta.

“Bobby Hill and Bill Tuman, the original Indian Motorcycle Wrecking Crew, won three Grand National Championships in 1951, 1952, and 1953,” said Gary Gray, Vice President – Racing, Technology & Service for Indian Motorcycle. “This championship is a tribute to them and the resiliency of the brand to get knocked down, only to get back up and return to greatness—just like Briar Bauman did this weekend.”

Indian Motorcycle Racing, presented by Progressive Motorcycle Insurance, will wrap up the 2019 season at the Meadowlands Mile in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on Saturday, September 28. KLOCKWERKS FLOODS–This water shouldn’t be here…

So, what happened?
The evening of September 11th a flash flood hit Mitchell, South Dakota. That flood brought 4’ of water in to the shop. (Yes, you read that right. We had 4’ of water INSIDE of our building.)

If we’re being completely honest, It was absolutely devastating and we need your help. (But we’ll get to that later…)

This is where we’re at.
As of today (September 26th) 6 roll-off dumpsters have been filled and emptied, more than 6500 pounds of wet sheet rock (a.k.a.1000 running feet of drywall) has been cleared, every last bolt bin has been dried, and 4 temporary work spaces have been setup.

As each day passes, we are recognizing that community is everything. So many of you have helped us clean up the mess, sent care packages filled with goodies to fuel our days, sent monetary donations and even took a moment to send us kind words and offered prayers.

Now that temporary work stations are setup and our phone lines are back, the Klock Krew is working as quickly as possible to return every email, phone call, and well-wish sent our way.

We are rebuilding with plans to be even better than ever.

So many of you are still reaching out, asking us how you can help. Our friend Jeff Zielinski at Namz Custom Cycle Products created a Gofundme for us – which is an opportunity for you to be a part of Klock Werks’ history.

Frankly, with all of the construction in our future we would appreciate all the help we can get. If you feel moved to help, we could use the support.

This is a strange one. I heard recently that Pepper Foster didn’t buy the company, only a licensing agreement for the name. That doesn’t make any sense. I reached out to the previous publisher, Joe Teresi, to find out about the subs.—Bandit

THE REAL DEAL–Check it out:

There is no climate crisis

An open letter to the UN Secretary General

More than 500 prominent scientists from all over the world, among them distinguished MIT climate scientist Prof. Richard Lindzen, are urging the Secretary-General of the United Nations for a further, de-politicised discussion of the climate issue, in which alternative scientific views are also given a voice.

A UN climate meeting will be held in New York on 23 September. To this end, CLINTEL has sent two registered letters, one to the UN Secretary-General, António Guterres, and one to the Executive Secretary of the UNFCCC, Patricia Espinosa Cantellano, together with the text of the European Climate Declaration (see below).

This also includes the explicit request to organize a joint meeting with world-class scientists. The letter follows:

Your Excellencies,

A global network of more than 500 knowledgeable and experienced scientists and professionals in climate and related fields have the honor to address to Your Excellencies the attached European Climate Declaration, for which the signatories to this letter are the national ambassadors.

The general-circulation models of climate on which international policy is at present founded are unfit for their purpose. Therefore, it is cruel as well as imprudent to advocate the squandering of trillions on the basis of results from such immature models. Current climate policies pointlessly, grievously undermine the economic system, putting lives at risk in countries denied access to affordable, continuous electrical power.

We urge you to follow a climate policy based on sound science, realistic economics and genuine concern for those harmed by costly but unnecessary attempts at mitigation.

We ask you to place the Declaration on the agenda of your imminent New York session.

We also invite you to organize with us a constructive high-level meeting between world-class scientists on both sides of the climate debate early in 2020. The meeting will give effect to the sound and ancient principle no less of sound science than of natural justice that both sides should be fully and fairly heard.

Please let us know your thoughts about such a joint meeting.

There is no climate emergency

A global network of 500 scientists and professionals has prepared this urgent message. Climate science should be less political, while climate polities should be more scientific. Scientists should openly address the uncertainties and exaggerations in their predictions of global warming, while politicians should dispassionately count the real benefits as well as the imagined costs of adaptation to global warming, and the real costs as well as the imagined benefits of mitigation.

Natural as well as anthropogenic factors cause warming

The geological archive reveals that Earth’s climate has varied as long as the planet has existed, with natural cold and warm phases. The Little Ice Age ended as recently as 1850. Therefore, it is no surprise that we now are experiencing a period of warming. Only very few peer-reviewed papers even go so far as to say that recent warming is chiefly anthropogenic.

Warming is far slower than predicted

The world has warmed at less than half the originally-predicted rate, and at less than half the rate to be expected on the basis of net anthropogenic forcing and radiative imbalance. It tells us that we are far from understanding climate change.

Climate policy relies on inadequate models

Climate models have many shortcomings and are not remotely plausible as policy tools. Moreover, they most likely exaggerate the effect of greenhouse gases such as CO2. In addition, they ignore the fact that enriching the atmosphere with CO2 is beneficial.

CO2 is plant food, the basis of all life on Earth

CO2 is not a pollutant. It is essential to all life on Earth. Photosynthesis is a blessing. More CO2 is beneficial for nature, greening the Earth: additional CO2 in the air has promoted growth in global plant biomass. It is also good for agriculture, increasing the yields of crop worldwide.

Global warming has not increased natural disasters

There is no statistical evidence that global warming is intensifying hurricanes, floods, droughts and suchlike natural disasters, or making them more frequent. However, CO2-mitigation measures are as damaging as they are costly. For instance, wind turbines kill birds and bats, and palm-oil plantations destroy the biodiversity of the rainforests.

Policy must respect scientific and economic realities

There is no climate emergency. Therefore, there is no cause for panic and alarm. We strongly oppose the harmful and unrealistic net-zero CO2 policy proposed for 2050. If better approaches emerge, we will have ample time to reflect and adapt. The aim of international policy should be to provide reliable and affordable energy at all times, and throughout the world.

Our advice to political leaders is that science should strive for a significantly better understanding of the climate system, while politics should focus on minimizing potential climate damage by prioritizing adaptation strategies based on proven and affordable technologies.

PA Biker’s Firearm Illegally Seized After Major Injury Accident–The MPP has reported extensively about the alarming trend of law enforcement and government officials charging individual with crimes, or having personal property seized simply for belonging to motorcycle clubs. Many of these instances are clear violations of the US Constitution.

The following is a report about a Pennsylvania man’s ordeal. He has zero criminal history and is a legal Pennsylvania and Utah Concealed Carry Permit holder. While riding his motorcycle he was struck by a truck in a traffic accident.

His firearm, nonsensically, was confiscated under the guise of being evidence in the investigation of a traffic accident. Such incidents highlight the urgent need for legislation addressing the practice of motorcycle profiling as recently urged by the unanimous consent of the US Senate.

The Incident

On May 11th, 2019, a member of the Pagan’s Motorcycle Club was traveling on Rt. 291, just outside of Philadelphia. A pickup truck driven by an uninsured, out-of-state driver pulled out of the left-hand shoulder of the road and hit the member’s Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He was thrown approximately forty feet from the motorcycle, receiving multiple, major injuries. Fortunately, traveling behind was a member of the Brookers MC, and his wife, both former EMT’s. She helped keep the victim calm and stable until an ambulance could arrive. While waiting for ambulance and police to arrive, the Pagan’s MC member gave the Brookers MC member his legally owned handgun to safely secure.

The Bookers MC member placed the firearm in his truck inside the locked glove box. Once medics arrived and took over the scene, the victim’s jacket was unzipped and, according to the Bookers MC member’s wife, a Chester police office noticed a Pagan’s t-shirt, remarking “oh, he’s a Pagan.” While being loaded onto the ambulance for transport to a local hospital, another Chester police officer noticed the victim’s empty firearm holster.

The Seizure

The Chester officer asked the Bookers MC member if he knew where the firearm was. He informed the officer that he had taken possession of the firearm and would transport it to the victim’s home. The officer falsely stated that it was illegal and that he was required to seize the firearm.

The Bookers MC member responded that he has a current and legal Concealed Carry Permit in the state of PA, and it is legal for him as such to take possession of said firearm. The officer demanded the firearm while he spoke with a supervisor about the law. The Bookers MC member complied and gave the officers the firearm. The officer returned to his squad car, and left the scene within five minutes, taking the firearm with him.

The Realization

After five days in the hospital with serious injuries, including head and brain trauma, the victim was cognizant enough to speak with his wife about the accident. He was informed that the police had indeed seized his firearm.

When he spoke to a member of the Chester police department, he was told that his firearm was sent to Delaware County District Attorneys Criminal Investigation Unit (CID) for ballistic testing. He was told that he would have to petition the DA’s office for the return of his legally owned firearm.

4th Amendment Violation

“The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.”

Despite being the victim of a careless, reckless driver, having not committed any crime, the Pagan’s MC member had his legally owned firearm confiscated by law enforcement officials simply due to his association with a Motorcycle Club. This is a clear violation of his Constitutional rights to free from unreasonable seizures.

Silence from Law Enforcement

The MPP attempted to contact the agencies involved to no avail. Neither Captain Stubbs of the Chester Police Department, nor Sgt. David McDonald or Chief Joseph Ryan of the Delaware County District Attorneys office responded to telephone calls regarding the seizure, or of any policies of either department that would dictate the seizure of personal property.

After going through the extensive red tape required to regain possession of his legal firearm, after it was illegally seized, the Pagan’s MC member was finally successful.

Conclusion

The targeted harassment of Motorcycle Club members in Pennsylvania is nothing new. These situations only highlight the necessity for passage of an Anti-Motorcycle Profiling law. Members of the MPP and the National Council of Clubs are working with local and federal officials towards the adoption of such laws.

We should not, cannot, and will not stand for the erosion of our Constitutionally granted rights.

AHDRA motorcycle drag racing SERIES–
AHDRA Back on Track in 2020

There’s good news for drag racers of American-made V-Twin motorcycles. AHDRA has been purchased by Pulse Marketing, the Pennsylvania-based motorsports promotion company run by veteran drag racer Bill Rowe Jr. and family.

AHDRA was THE place to drag race Harley-Davidsons in the 2000s, with racers crisscrossing the country with the fully-sponsored, well-marketed series run by Craig Tharpe.

“We want to thank Craig for trusting us to take the AHDRA over,” said Rowe Jr.

AHDRA’s last season was 2012, but Pulse will have the series up and running with somewhere between six to eight races in 2020, with Sturgis likely the only race west of the Mississippi.

“We want people to know we’re here and we’re looking forward to a May, 2020 start to our season,” continued Rowe.

The Rowe family brings a lifetime of motorsports promotion to the effort. “My dad, Bill Sr., was a promoter when I was a kid,” said Rowe, who’s been racing for over 40 years and counts grasping the AMRA Eliminator championship out of Donnie Huffman’s firm grip in 2017 as his proudest on-track achievement.

“At 14 years old I was racing, doing the rider payouts and handling the points system, so I’ve been doing this a while.

“But it’s not just me and my family. We have a good team of advisers on board to help us with this, and we’ll be announcing them along with a schedule shortly.

“We’re also working with the Top Fuel Harley racers to make sure our schedule plays nice with the NHRA schedule so that we get the pros at our events and develop the next generation of Top Fuel Harley stars right here at AHDRA.

“We’ve got five classes covered with sponsorships already, but there’s room for more to jump on board.

“We’re looking to bring back that AHDRA style of racing,”

A new AHDRA website will soon be up and running.

IS LIFE NUTS OR WHAT—So, while I was working with the lovely Laura on our numbers the DHL truck stopped out front, and then peeled out with our new Leather order. Damn.

We won’t be featuring this bike from the factory in 2000. Their communications department had to downsize, and they don’t have any record of this project. I was just trying to find something positive to write about H-D. I came up with two grand notions, including this one, but they couldn’t help.

Too bad. I know the factory will come around. It always does. It’s an American mainstay. We just need another killer movie or TV series and they’ll be back on top.

An hour later, while I was in the Bikernet iron pile, lifting some rusting chunks, the DHL guy returned. He made my day.

I’ll try to get a shot of something new before I wrap up the news.

It’s going to be a busy Friday. Hang on and remember, we live in the best of times, even if Greta doesn’t think so.
