Here's another Bikernet.com world's fastest tech stories. Let's hit it, and if you're lucky we'll back it up in the next couple of weeks with a full-blown installation.
Here are the benefits from the boss: Better leg and foot posture
Less knee and hip fatigue
Less banging shins when backing up or creeping at lights
More room between the rider footboard and passenger footboard: preventing banging calves and boots.
Gets heel shifter off the board so it's easier to position your boot during take-off.
The price is $139.99
They're made out of cast steel and only in powder coated black, no other finish options. They don't mess with the crash bars, but fairing lowers need to be notched slightly.
“They basically move the boards forward 2 inches,” Wild Bill told me. We started to discuss brake levers, shifters and options like my spacers that push my right board outward to clear my new D&D exhaust. “Spacers are not a problem,” Bill said and filled me in on all the options:
Harley makes a kit, but it only pushes the boards forward ¾ inch. These puppies work with any dresser from '86 to now, but '86 to '97 bike will put the brake pedal in the center of the board. “Riders generally want an extended brake arm for those years,” Bill said. As of 2003 or 2004 Harley extended their brake arm about 1.5 inches. Aftermarket modified arms are available from KuryAkyn for 2 3/8 inches, or Bubba for 2 ¼ inches or even Soft Brake for 1 ¾ inches. This group also builds extended shifters, but they're not needed in most cases. It's a personal choice.
The Easy Brake is the only aftermarket part that won't work with this system. That's all you're gonna get outta us until we install a set. Here are the instructions:

ULTRA MODELS – If you are installing these brackets on an ultra classicmodel with fairing lowers on the engine guardor crash bar, you will either have to modify the fairing lower by carefullytrimming the plastic to clear the front bracketsor remove the fairing lowers entirely. If you do not feel confident you maywish to consult a professional shop forinstallation.

Tip – We prefer “Soft brake” for the extended brake, and either “KuryAkyn”or “Bubba’s Brakes” for the shift lever. Atleast a 2-inch extension on both, but longer is also nice. On newer models itmay not be necessary to replace the stockbrake or shifter levers as they are a nice fit with the extension.
Tip- Want Chrome? Brown’s plating Service in Kentucky does extremely nicework with their polishing and plating, andthey have a 10-day turn around time in most cases.
