Hey,
This is a crazy one and I got a late start. I needed to speak in front of the Port of Los Angeles Harbor Commissioners this morning. We were forced to push our non-existent waterfront effort forward for the people of Wilmington.
It’s amazing, and folks don’t realize the high level of impact they can have on their community, just by speaking up, writing a letter, and being there.
That’s why our motorcycle rights groups are so important to our survival. Evil folks don’t govern in a void. They reach out for input, but if we don’t step up, the folks who gain financially will, and we lose freedoms in the process.
We just got a new set of Commissioners, so the money factions jumped. “If we build new rails and automatic container removal systems, we will save bundles.” What they didn’t mention was the thousands of lost jobs, and the lost waterfront effort for the community. Amazing. We needed to point out the other side of the coin.

BIKERNET UNIVERSITY ENGLISH DEPARTMENT COOL WORD OF THE DAY– zephyr ZEF-er , noun;
Every time a customer opened a department store’s big doors, a perfumed zephyr blew over the shoots of crocuses, narcissus, hyacinths, and tulips in garden boxes near the entrance, which seemed to be the only breath of spring sustaining them.
The air was heavy with the scent of flowers, and as I paused, a faint warm zephyr gently stirred the whispering trees…
Zephyr can be traced to the Greek zéphyros meaning “the west wind.”
(ARTICLE CORRECTION) METALSPORT PRODUCES BIG WHEEL MONEY SAVERS—Machining big diameter wheels from billet chunks of aluminum is financially daunting, and heavy on CNC machining time requirements.
Ron Loynds, the boss of MetalSport wheels stepped up to initiate a forged wheel blank procedure, which will save tremendous time and machining expense. Here are some shots of the first batch of 26 and 30-inch blanks. Larger 32-inch jobs are coming very soon. “We will also be offering 3D forgings in several of the most popular sizes in the near future,” said Ron.
Blanks will be available to one and all from Metalsport. Or pick a 2D, 3D, or a Chip Foose designed wheel from their catalog and MetalSport will machine, polish, plate, powder-coat and ship them with Vee-Rubber tires mounted and balanced, with the rotor of your choice, and belt pulley installed.
SECRET SERVICE DEFENSE PATROL OF AIDE’S SUBDIVISION– WASHINGTON The U.S. Secret Service acknowledged Sunday that patrol units conducted “welfare” checks at the home of an employee who feared for her safety in a neighborhood dispute, but the agency disputed reports that it had drawn investigative assets away from the White House.
Secret Service spokesman Ed Donovan said daily patrols were sent to the home during the 2011 Fourth of July weekend while the president was at Camp David.
Donovan said the units were drawn from the “Prowler” unit, which he said are not part of the White House’s protective detail.
“A Washington field office vehicle, an investigative asset, was used to do these periodic checks,” Donovan said. “Because there were no protective assets used during these checks, there was no impact on protective operations.”
The patrols were first disclosed by The Washington Post , which reported that the checks went on for about two months at the rural Maryland home of Lisa Chopey, an aide to Mark Sullivan, who was the director of the Secret Service. The checks reportedly included elaborate surveillance of the neighborhood. Chopey could not be reached for comment Sunday.
The Secret Service maintains that the patrols lasted only four days during the holiday weekend and involved brief “drive-by” checks on the employee’s welfare.
“Prowler has no specific assignment or protective function during movements by any protectees,” Donovan said. “Prowler is not part of any protective plan.”
The disclosures come after a series of incidents concerning the conduct of agents. In March, before President Obama’s trip to the Netherlands, three agents were sent back to the USA after a night of heavy drinking. Two years ago, the agency was rocked by a prostitution scandal involving several agents in Cartagena, Colombia.
Secret Service Director Julia Pierson, appointed in 2013, was chief of staff to Sullivan when the patrols were authorized.
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Rogers, R-Mich., said Sunday on CBS’ Face the Nation that the disclosures raise questions about the agency ’s leadership.

British Customs Prepares for “Ride Through History” to Quail Motorcycle Gathering– British Customs will be unveiling its latest custom Triumph at the 2014 The Quail Motorcycle Gathering in Carmel Valley, California on May 17th. This annual event draws motorcycle enthusiasts from around the world and welcomes motorcycle entries of all kinds for awards considerations in a wide variety of categories.
The Quail Motorcycle Gathering celebrates the past, present and future of motorcycling, and the passion and creativity of the culture that surrounds it. In the spirit of the event, the founders of British Customs will embark on a day-long journey through history as part of a group ride from Los Angeles to Carmel on Thursday, May 15th.
The ride will begin at British Customs headquarters in Gardena, just blocks away from racing landmark Ascot Park Speedway. From there the group will weave its way through Southern California’s rich motorcycling history, making stops at significant locations like Deus Ex Machina in Venice, Iron and Resin in Ventura, and the Hearst Castle to name a few. Along the way the group will be joined by industry figures including representatives from Triumph Motorcycles, Motorcycle USA, AMA Pro Racer Melissa Perris, and the creators of the hit motorcycle documentary Why We Ride.
Though British Customs views each machine as a piece of art, they also believe that these bikes are meant to be ridden. Participants in the ride will make their way up the coast on a number of BC’s iconic modern classic, cruiser and sport bike builds, including the “Cafe Racer Deux” Thruxton, the “Back to Basics” Bonneville, the “Dirt Bike” Scrambler, and the Design Series Street Triple. BC’s bike builds have garnered high praise throughout the Triumph community as they demonstrate the endless possibilities when it comes to customizing one’s bike with British Customs parts.
“Events like The Quail Motorcycle Gathering are an inspiration to all of us at British Customs,” said Jason Panther. “Seeing the creativity that is poured into every motorcycle, being immersed in such a passionate atmosphere, and the desire to create our own expressions of who we are as a company and as motorcyclists is part of what drives us to do what we do.”
For more information about The Quail Motorcycle Gathering including show categories, ticketing information, bike registration and more, visit their website. For Triumph modern classics, cruisers and sport models by visiting www.British-Customs.com.
SCOTT BACKS TROOPERS in rejecting speed-limit bill– Six days after a Florida Highway Patrol trooper gave an impassioned request against the proposal during the funeral service for a fellow trooper, Gov. Rick Scott said he will veto a measure that could increase speeds on state highways.
Scott told reporters after the state Cabinet meeting Tuesday that he will “stand with law enforcement” and veto the bill (SB 392), which has yet to be forwarded to his desk by state lawmakers.
“I’m going to stand with law enforcement, and I want everybody to stay safe,” said Scott.

UNCLE MONKEY ON GOING OUT OF YOUR MIND–So how are you feeling? I mean beside the usual aches and pains that your body seems to like to collect over the years. Mental health is something that we don’t seem to talk about. We don’t mind talking about our trick knee that can predict a rain storm miles before Mother Nature does, but when it comes to how we are feeling and thinking we shut down.
Mental health is one of those things that until you have experienced and dealt with it, it is difficult to understand. We have all rolled our ankle, wrapped our thumb with a hammer. We know how that feels, we can sympathize.
We have all felt anxiety whether it was for an upcoming test or building up the courage to ask out that redhead at the end of the bar, but those are short fleeting moments, just as quickly forgotten once the moment has passed. We think that telling someone to “just get over it” is an acceptable answer for someone who is crippled by anxiety.
We think that the depression that a friend is feeling is the same as when our faithful hunting dog Blue passed away. It’s not.
Maybe it is because as a society we don’t always get it right the first time. It wasn’t that long ago that we wrongly diagnosed “loose” women as mentally ill. Unruly children who defied their parents’ strict rules met a similar fate. They were shunned, locked away to experience horrific treatments. They were the dirty little secrets that we didn’t want to talk about because there really wasn’t anything wrong with them.
But there are mental issues like depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, paranoia, and others. Our modern selves have outpaced our simple roots and our bodies haven’t caught up to us yet. It is hard to believe but it was just over a hundred years ago of man’s first power flight, a little over a hundred years ago we first started riding motorcycles.
For many there simply is no just getting over depression or other illnesses. Sometimes help is finding comradely with others in support groups, others may need professional guidance and help, others may need medication and yes sometimes though rarely it may require supervision in a controlled environment.
The truth is that there are times when no matter how many miles we ride we can’t get our minds clear, that there are times when we need and should reach out for help.

Try studying the Dharma, meditation, and sometimes a religion helps. Think about this: A thought is an electrical impulse in your brain. It will only last for a split second. So if you think your worst thought, it’s only the snap of your fingers in your mind. Let it go.

THE BIKERNET POLITICAL DESK–A senate candidate in highly competitive state (IA) who rides a Harley is looking pretty good. I love her ad, watch it:
This ad has gone viral and has rocketed her in the polls. She also has the most cash on hand at the moment. Her chances are uncertain, real clear politics has her loosing to the Dem candidate by 5 points.
Pretty good considering a few months ago she was expected to only gather just 5% of the votes of the primary, June 3rd. She is now the front runner.
I’ve sent her a questionnaire for PAC money. I expect it will be returned favorably.

Valerie Thompson sets sights on 200 MPH Club membership at El Mirage competition–SCTA celebrates 62 years of hosting world’s most famous land speed racing events.
Five-time land speed record holder, Valerie Thompson, will return to the El Mirage Dry Lake May 17 – 18 for the Southern California Timing Association’s (SCTA) land speed racing event with the goal of joining their prestigious 200 MPH Club.
The SCTA sanctions the world’s fastest speed trials and will be celebrating their 62nd anniversary of hosting land speed racing activities at the famed dry lake. El Mirage is located 30 miles east of Antelope Valley California and has been one of the world’s most celebrated racing destinations for more than half a century.
“This will be my second time racing my BMW at El Mirage. I’m still getting used to the racing surface, which is unlike any I’ve ever raced on before,” said Thompson. “Last year, I was the fastest female on a normally aspirated motorcycle with a top speed of 199.90 mph, so I am hoping we can crack the 200 mph mark this time. Becoming a member of SCTA’s 200 MPH Club has been one of my major goals,” added Thompson.

You can’t help but wonder did they think that their way was smarter or was it simply a cost saving?
God only knows how many lives have been lost due to “bean counters” and their desire to raise profits.
I look forward to more reports, keep up the good work.

VINTAGE H-D AD OF THE DAY– Just acquired this original page from a December 1914 Atlanta, GA newspaper with a very interesting ad for H-D.
The ad takes about 40% of the page, a big newspaper format, and measures 16 inches across.
What’s also interesting is the other side of the page, which is all about the 1914 baseball scene and the new hot sports topic…college football with over 8000 games played! The page was laminated so it’s in great shape and even can be rolled without any damage….definitely suitable for framing…or to sell on eBay….

FROM THE SMOKEOUT PROM COMMITTEE–The Chopper Prom Experience.
In Autumn, Mike and the crazed crew at Boston Mike’s gave us an idea that cannot be ignored.
After the Smoke Out closes the gates Saturday night we plan to have a special event in the campgrounds.
We plan to have a “Chopper Prom.” Yes indeed. Ladies save those previously unusable bridesmaid’s dresses. Gentlemen, time to hit goodwill and have your mama modify your new (old) tux into a sleeveless, masterpiece of unforgettable chopper attire. Nicole Baker from Bare Bones Leather is our girl Friday for this, so stay tuned for good things from her.
The idea is an eighties “Prom” for the chopper world. We plan to meet for Prom pictures several hours before the actual event. We are going all out on this and Michael Lichter has agreed to ride out from Colorado and be the official Prom photographer.
Yes, we are getting the most famous motorcycle photographer in the world to shoot Prom pictures because THAT’S HOW WE ROLL. We are putting together an ad hoc studio for taking “formal” (whatever that may mean to this Smoke Out crowd) portraits of each couple. Michael will then send you a link to these portraits as well as the candid dance photos for you to view and copy after the rally.
After photos the current plan is a short group ride (in formal wear) to the Smoke Out campgrounds were the Prom takes place. I hope to have a police escort for that but things are changing daily as the coordination process is unfolding.
We are renting a 40 x 60 tent for the Prom, with lighting reminiscent of what would be considered romantic in a cheesy 1980’s coming-of-age, boy-stalks-girl and they end up at a dance movie. Oh and we are getting one of those mirrored disco balls. Why? You know why. The Smoke Out faithful will know how to make something like this night… EPIC. EPIC.
The next step is a search for a wedding-type singer to host this. Brian Whitcomb from Garage 71 Radio has stepped up with a plan. There is an infamous club in Atlanta, GA known as the Clermont Lounge.
It is the kind of place where your shoes stick to the floor and well-known celebrities often darken, already dark corners. The Tuesday night karaoke show has been co-opted to choose a host for the Chopper Prom. The finals will be April 22, 2014. Edge will be there in person and you should be too. Help us choose between a guy in a double-breasted suit crooning Sinatra or an 80’s wedding singer.
Tickets will be $ 50 a couple to help with SOME of the expense. The tickets go on sale Wednesday (April 16) at 10 am. This gives everyone a fair shot at a photo session with Michael Lichter. Last but not least, if you know someone who will support the culture and sponsor this awesome event, let us know.
SmokeOutRally.com has the details. Stay tuned.

ROGUE BAD COP FILE FROM BOYNTON BEACH– Video shows officer kicking boy.
Boynton Beach police are investigating after a video surfaced of one of their officers kicking a child’s legs from under him while the child’s hands appear to be restrained behind his back. Police spokeswoman Stephanie Slater said one officer has been placed on administrative duty after the footage was found online Tuesday. It’s unclear what the child was being charged with.
The video shows two boys apparently being arrested. An officer approaches one and appears to kick him, causing the boy to fall to the ground. Slater says no formal complaints have been filed over the incident.

CHOPPER RAFFLE
This Chopper was donated by anonymous family to help raise funds for the Aidan Jack Seeger Foundation. A new engine and refurbishment has been provided by staff of Indian Larry Motorcycles.
ALD is an X-linked genetic disease affecting 1 in 17,000 people. It progressively damages the myelin sheath of the nerves. ALD leads to increasing disabilities such as vision and hearing loss and a total inability to communicate and complete the tasks of daily living.
The staff at Indian Larry has had the incredible good fortune to work for Elisa and Bobby Seeger. We have seen their struggle first hand and watched them keep themselves and our shop together. The relationships that they forged in our industry over the years helped them deal with their devastating loss.
Elisa and Bobby could have chosen to walk through life feeling sorry for themselves, but instead they chose to fight and protect others from the trauma of ALD. While maintaining the legacy that is Indian Larry Motorcycles, they established the Aidan Jack Seeger Foundation. Already they have helped many families living with ALD and were recently able to get required newborn screening in New York State.
MY FIRST MOTORCYCLE–By Buck Lovell
My first motorcycle was an Indian Chief with a sidecar. I bought outfit in Shell Beach California in 1968-69. I rode it home to Santa Maria at 30 MPH on one cylinder because I didn’t know what the bike was supposed to sound like.
When I got to Santa Maria (19 miles South on Highway 101) a buddy of mine cleaned the points and distributor cap and the bike started to fire on both cylinders. Scared the hell out me. Then the bike would now go 60 MPH plus.
Sammy Pierce of Monrovia screwed me out of the sidecar (he did that to a lot of Indian riders). I actually loaded the hack into the trunk of my 1963 Belair and drove it down to Sammy’s place. I went home hack-less, but with the part I needed to fix a few things on the bike.
Someone had installed a mousetrap on the motorcycle, and attached the foot clutch lever to the shift tower of the non-synchromesh transmission, using the clutch pedal as the shift lever. Primitive foot shift I must say. At any rate Huga Bear from Ventura heard about my purchase and rode up to Santa Maria to view the bike. He immediately helped me remove the mouse trap and reattach the foot clutch properly, also attached the tank shift lever correctly.
He admonished me “don’t ever put Harley parts on an Indian.
That was my first bike, a 1947 Indian Chief. Being at the new Sturgis Indian dealership gave me Goosebumps. In addition to all the modern Indian two-wheelers on the showroom floor, there was a1947 Chief in perfect or very close perfect stock condition. Made my eyes water.
I guess I’m an Indian fan forever; I just don’t want to do the maintenance. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!

Indian Motorcycle dealership coming to Sturgis– April 16, 2014 5:00 am •
More than 75 years after riders of Indian motorcycles launched a small gathering that would later explode into the world-renowned Sturgis motorcycle rally, the recently reborn motorcycle company will open a permanent sales location in cycle city.
The move continues a push by Indian to re-establish itself as a major player in Sturgis, challenging the dominance Harley-Davidson motorcycles have held for decades. At last summer’s Sturgis rally, Indian used the occasion to unveil its new Indian Chief cycle line at a press event that drew 2,000 spectators.
The new Indian dealership will be launched by Bruce Eide, who currently offers Indian motorcycles at the Vern Eide Motoplex in Sioux Falls. The Sturgis showroom will be located at 2106 Lazelle St. and open around May 1, said Pat Kurtenbach, president of the Sturgis Economic Development Corp.
The dealership will be open year-round, offering sales, service and retail sales of apparel. It will employ eight people, Kurtenbach said.
Indian is owned by Minnesota-based Polaris Industries and is manufactured and assembled in Wisconsin and Iowa. The brand lay dormant for two years until the unveiling of the new Indian models in August. At that event, Polaris released the newest Indian Classic, Vintage and Chieftain motorcycles to the public.
Indian Motorcycle Sturgis launched a Facebook page last week saying America’s first motorcycle manufacturer, founded in 1901, would be “coming home” to Sturgis. A link on the Facebook page takes readers to a website called indianmotorcyclesturgis.com.
The new Indian Motorcycle Sturgis website said that everyone who knows Indian Motorcycle lore knows the story of C.F. “Pappy” Hoel, the Sturgis Indian Motorcycle dealer. “Pappy” was instrumental in organizing the first motorcycle hill climbs and races in Sturgis. Those early races by the Jackpine Gypsies started in 1938, and gave rise to the iconic Sturgis motorcycle rally.
“Coming May 1st, Indian Motorcycle Sturgis will once again offer the Thunder, Beauty, and Glory of the brand new, 2014 Indian Motorcycle product line,” the website announces.
Readers are told to follow the page to stay up to the minute on the countdown “toward bringing this great Icon of America back home to Sturgis!”

MRF ALERT–Bikers Inside The Beltway National Lobby Day – The Most Important Day of the Year for motorcyclists.
The Motorcycle Riders Foundation is pleased to report that the 6th annual Michael “Boz” Kerr Bikers Inside The Beltway will be held Thursday, May 15th in the Nation’s Capital, Washington D.C. The Motorcycle Riders Foundation will have secure, free motorcycle parking just steps from the U.S. Capitol Building.
Last year’s event drew hundreds of motorcyclists from across the country. Don’t miss out on the greatest gathering of politically active motorcyclists in Washington, D.C. This really is the most important day of the year for motorcyclists. With the Obama administration angling for mandatory helmet laws, this year’s event could not be more integral to preserving motorcycling, as we know it.
From 9:00 am to 11:00 am is arrival, registration, instruction and lobby material pickup meet at the motorcycle parking on 3rd street (a link to the map is below).
This year’s Congressional speakers are Senator Jean Shaheeen of New Hampshire and Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin. Senator Shaheen is the sponsor of S 2078 the bill to end the funding of motorcycle checkpoints. Senator Johnson is the number one co-sponsor of this important legislation.
The Senators will be addressing our group at 2:45 in Senate Russell Building, room SR-188. Please arrive early to ensure a prompt start.
The MRF encourages you to schedule appointments with your Representative and Senators offices.

THE TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN—I visited a Buddhist Temple last Sunday (and low and behold a diamond back rattlesnake was having lunch in my parking space) and they were celebrating the birthday of Siddhartha who was born 2,500 years ago, about 600 years before Christ. They have a ritual at the temple, which includes bathing the Buddha with a ladle of purified water.
It’s a simple operation with amazing results. If you perform this easy duty properly with Faith, Sincerity, and Righteousness in your heart, here’s what you get in return:
Wealth, Happiness, success, love and joy
All your wishes come true
All your friends are relatives are at peace forever
You can say farewell to all 8 human difficulties, and forever escape suffering
And finally the most important, vital, and powerful benefit: You will reach enlightenment quickly.
Enlightenment is the equivalent of becoming one with nature in the purest fashion.
I would call bathing the Buddha a serious opportunity.

RIDEWRIGHT WHEELS COMES TO BIKERNET—Just yesterday I received a call from Rick Raus. “Sam at RideWright wheels has a 26-inch wheel made just for your Bikernet Headquarters building art project.”
I jumped in the official Bikernet 5-Ball Racing van and peeled onto the freeway for Anaheim. The freeway was jammed, so I peeled off and took side streets to the bustling RideWright factory.
RideWright has an amazing operation in a small industrial building. Some 80 percent of their wheels are spoke and just 20 percent are billet. They are the masters of giant spoke wheels, and their team is cooking. Every inch of their facility is alive with manufacturing activity. I was impressed with their resourcefulness and Sam, the boss, can sense when one of his CNC machines needs tuning.
He is in the process of building a fully enclosed chroming facility inside his building, so he can reduce shipping costs and monitor plating quality. I asked him how many government agencies the chrome effort must satisfy and he rattled off at least a dozen. Incredible.
They also handle their own powder-coating. I will bring you a blow-by-blow report on our art project. And I’m sure we will share news from RideWright on a regular basis.

ROUND ‘EM UP COWGIRL!–Round Up of Articles from the Bikernet Family of websites.
Making my way onto the track I took a detour and came in from a different direction, as I got closer to the track I was surprised to see 8 to 10 school buses in the parking lot. Being somewhat sure it was Friday and therefore a school day I began to wonder what was up?
Stressed-out Americans, from war veterans to Google workers, are embracing mindfulness meditation.
Why is mindfulness so popular?
It appeals to people seeking an antidote to life in work-obsessed, tech-saturated, frantically busy Western culture. There is growing scientific evidence that mindfulness meditation has genuine health benefits — and can even alter the structure of the brain, so the technique is drawing some unlikely devotees. Pentagon leaders are experimenting with mindfulness to make soldiers more resilient, while General Mills has installed a meditation room in every building of its Minneapolis campus. Even tech-obsessed Silicon Valley entrepreneurs are using it as a way to unplug from their hyperconnected lives. “Meditation always had bad branding for this culture,” says Evan Williams, co-founder of Twitter. “But to me, it’s a way to think more clearly and to not feel so swept up.”
Sisters gather together from all corners of America, By Andie Gaskins – from Fast Andie Racing.
The first Annual Steel Horse Sisterhood Summit May 2nd-4th in Denver, Colorado was jam packed with tons of amazing women. Sisters gathered from all corners of North America. Coming all the way from California to Florida, and a few from Canada, where all sisters were given the opportunity to have a voice and connect with each other.
An Epic cross country ride to raise awareness for veterans, Cigars for Warriors and Veterans Outreach. By Cat Hammes
Many of you know I am extremely involved with veterans. I am currently working on two projects at the same time. I have decided the best way to raise funds for both programs is to do a cross country motorcycle ride. I will be attending events and various gatherings, planned Cigars for Warriors Events, Cigar shops themselves and personal friends of the crew. I will explain more about these charities and my involvement, but first I want to back up and tell you my life events that brought me to this point, and led me to my passion and work for veteran outreach.

It is not something that most people want to talk about and motorcycle media is often reluctant to report on. The reason basically is that it brings attention to a part of our lifestyle that none of us want to visit and it is also not good for motorcycle sales. But reality is there are all kinds of crashes, collisions and accidents that involve motorcycles. There are steps and programs that are attempting to resolve this through awareness, motorcycle rider education and other means but a fact of life is that it is still happening and has to be addressed.
And from BAGGERS we have the following:
An Engineers Perspective, By Graham R Brown
The subject of Harley-Davidson ‘bagger wobble’ is all over the internet and Harley forums. As an engineer and long-standing owner I find it frustrating that much of the discussion and comment is very wide of the mark, so what follows is a description of the rubber mounting system used in our touring bikes, from an engineering perspective, in the hope of improving understanding of what the wobble is and why it happens.
In 2013, the best selling Harley-Davidson model was the 2013 H-D FLHX Street Glide. By Dewayne Jasper
Of course, this comes as little surprise given how popular baggers and touring have become around the United States. You would think that because the Street Glide was their best selling model, that there would be very little to delve into regarding why the bike has become so popular, and why it will likely continue to be well into the future.
And from TRIKES we have the following:
BOSS HOSS GANGSTA TRIKE
Lean, Low and Mean, Triking Viking
This Boss Hoss three-wheeler is the Gangsta Trike, a long, stylish machine with sweeping rear fenders and a four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive.

EIGHT THOUGHTS TO PONDER–
Number 8: Life is sexually transmitted.
Number 7: Good health is merely the slowest possible rate at which one can die.
Number 6: Men have two emotions: Hungry and Horny. They can’t tell them apart.
If you see a gleam in his eyes, make him a sandwich.
Number 5: Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day.
Teach a person to use the Internet and they won’t bother you
for weeks, months, maybe years.
Number 4: Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in the hospitals,
dying of nothing.
Number 3: All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.
Number 2: In the ‘60s, people took acid to make the world weird. Now the world is weird and people take Prozac to make it normal.
And The Number 1 Thought: Life is like a jar of Jalapeno peppers—
What you do today, might burn your ass tomorrow.

BIKERNET PHILOSOPHER DISCUSSES CONFUSION–We can overcome any problem or challenge when our Faith and Trust is greater than the confusion
–yALE
Do you ever start your day with yesterdays and tomorrows problems and challenges? Are you
overwhelmed with the monumental challenges you are facing? Are you consumed with fear and doubt and don’t know which way to turn? Do you feel that you are all alone and must solve these issues yourself?
Today Know: As I Pause and go within to that place of peace I feel that my every need is met. I Let Go of the confusion of yesterday, today and tomorrow. I Know that the Infinite Supply of All Life is My Divine Partner and my every need is met physical, mental and Spiritual. I Know that I am Divinely Guided, Guarded and Supplied with All that I need. As I raise My Faith and Trust in the Power that I cannot see I feel this sense of Love, Peace, Harmony and Order filling My Soul. Words cannot say how I Grateful I am to Know this Truth, but I just say Thank You. I now go into this day with joy in my heart, a smile on face and confidence in my walk, fully Living MY Truth.

Fee cuts, tax-free periods become law — Gov. Scott signs package to bring savings worth $500 million to citizens
By Jim Turner
The News Service of Florida
TALLAHASSEE — Gov. Rick Scott signed a wide-ranging tax cut package Monday that fulfills an election-year pledge and could boost sales for businesses through a series of tax-free periods during the typically slower summer months.
The signing of the package (HB 5601) lets Scott campaign that he got lawmakers to make $500 million in tax and fee cuts, even if the total won’t reach that figure in the upcoming budget year, while providing shoppers with sales-tax holidays on hurricane gear, school supplies and energy-saving appliances.
“The bill we signed today is $121 million right back in to Florida citizens’ hands,” Scott said during a news conference after he addressed the Governor’s Hurricane Conference at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.
Lawmakers already sent a larger part of the tax and fee cuts to Scott, rolling back vehicle registration fees that were increased in 2009. Scott signed that bill (SB 156) April 2, giving motorists an average savings of $20 to $25 for each vehicle.
The vehicle fee reduction is expected to collectively save motorists about $309 million during the 2014-15 budget year, with the new lowered rates going into effect Sept. 1. Those savings are expected to grow to about $395 million a year, once t hey are in effect for a fiscal year.

DRAG RACE SHOT OF THE WEEK– NO motorcycle, but a cool shot, just now sorting the car parts of the races. This was actually from the weekend you just posted.
Can you get anyone at Canon to let me, borrow/have a Canon 1D X camera body, like the MC parts folks do? Not sure when I will ever have 7G for a camera body?

Hot and Nasty is the word of the day on the west coast…Global warming has taken over Southern California along with the Santa Ana winds accompanied with lots of wild fires less than an hour or two South of us keeping the masses on their toes dodging hot embers raining from above, while a frigid wind blows snow in the Mile High city of Denver, Co. Be careful what you wish for or not.
Here at home in Wilmington, CA, we have a cool sea breeze removing the days heat. Another major week in the 5-Ball Racing Teams move toward the starting line located just outside of Wendover, Utah…the Bonneville Salt Flats.
The Twins at Twins Turbo in Long Beach, CA are connecting the Series 66 Aerocharger to the Bell intercooler. The turbo outlet, intercooler next stop, is a factory designed two-inch outlet. After calculating the added air by increasing the outlet to 2 1/4” the Twins will make connections with the larger plumbing.
Billy McCahill at Spyke/STD had William, his ace machinist clamp the part in place and machine the latest, greatest inner primary known to man. The backside of the STD inner primary chain case is so massive William relieved the material for additional chain clearance due to our sprocket selection.
On the other end of town at Marc Susman’s, Classic and Custom Rides our air plenum is getting a major rework. Seems we are refining the Raycer one part at a time. Less than two years into the build and the starting line is much closer.
The good Dr. Willie in Long Beach is standing by to assemble the Raycer and prepare for shipping at the end of next week for dyno-tuning at Dan Thayers in New York.

Being a former Woman Marine, and a Cigar Aficionado, I have my motorcycle license (no motorcycle though…sniff sniff). I love this article and what Cat’s mission in life is.
My hat goes off to you girl! I love your spirit and your unwavering commitment…you are walking the walk and talking the talk…most people stop at talking the talk.
I am going to CATS 2 FEST in San Antonio and I will be purchasing the T-shirt. I’m certain my modest little donation is going to an EPIC cause. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! May your ride be true & safe and your ashes long.

Very interesting article and the idea is fantastic. To teach fellow riders or just a witness to bad bike wreck that they can do more than trying to keep the injured from moving. These class need to be available all over the country. I know I’m very interested in taking a course like this. If there is anything I can do to help get the word out about the classes and what good they are to all riders.

IT’S HOT, 97 DEGREES TODAY—But what the hell, gotta do something. I’ve encouraged Markus Cuff to start a series of limited edition prints for sales. These bikes are so rare, it’s a pleasure to have one of these images framed in my abode. Let’s see if he makes it happens.
He’s being pressured now, since most of his magazine jobs are faltering or budgets have been cut.
Next week we have a batch of new content flying at us, and I’m trying to write a new Cantina episode. Plus, I’m hoping to bring you a report on our belly tank effort.
I could use one of these today.
Have a helluva weekend and check back often. Never a dull moment around here.
