ARCH Motorcycle Company’s first production model, the KRGT-1, has been certified emissions-compliant by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and the Environmental Protection Agency and is legal in all fifty of the United States.
“CARB certification was always our goal,” says Gard Hollinger. “We were committed to that from day one. It was a grueling process and important for us to achieve in order to deliver on our promise of a production-quality, custom performance cruiser.”
“Arch tasked us with building a powerful-yet-rideable powertrain. That part was easy for S&S,” says S&S VP of Sales Paul Devine. “But they also asked for 50-state compliance. That wasn’t easy, but, in the end, we developed an engine that pairs brute V-twin power with emissions compliance.”
The KRGT-1 represents the culmination of years of R&D focused on producing a category-defying American motorcycle with real-world rideability to match its meticulous craftsmanship. ARCH designed its streamlined, retro-modern styling to bring the contours of the past into the present. The bike showcases over 200 parts created at the ARCH production facility, each bike requiring 300-plus machine hours using state-of-the-art CNC and water-jet machinery. Dozens of other proprietary parts are supplied by premium vendor partners who share the same demanding standards. More info about ARCH Motorcycles can be found here.
