The Iowa Grand Motorcycle Rally, July 25-28 at Iowa Speedway, just added an event all motorcycle enthusiasts won’t want to miss, the first ever Rusty Wallace Ride – benefiting The NASCAR Foundation & The Iowa Speedway Foundation.
The ride is a marquee event as all riders will have the chance to meet and ride with Iowa Speedway designer and 2013 NASCAR Hall of Fame member, Rusty Wallace. The ride departs the Iowa Speedway at 11:00am on Wednesday, July 25th and heads to PB Chopps & Rods in Moravia, IA, for a party hosted by renowned motorcycle builder and founder of PB Choppers, Jim Wubben.
“Rusty has been a huge part of our organization for many years,” said Wubben. “We are really looking forward to hosting this great ride and fully expect a huge turnout.”
“We have a ton of events planned during the Iowa Grand Motorcycle Rally, and the Rusty Wallace Ride will certainly be of great interest to motorcyclists everywhere,” said Doug Fritz, CEO of Iowa Speedway. “The ride over to southern Iowa is very scenic and riders will be able to visit the shop belonging to PB Choppers, one of the best custom shops in the country.”
Rally attendees can sign up for the Rusty Wallace Ride for $25 for a single rider or $40 for two. All riders and passengers who register will receive a free t-shirt commemorating the ride, along with a free lunch at PB Chopps & Rods.
“The Iowa country side is such a beautiful place in the summer and I’m personally looking forward to seeing Jim’s shop,” said track designer, Rusty Wallace. “The fans have really shown support for our events, and we anticipate a great turnout for this first time motorcycle rally, plus it’s supporting two wonderful charities– The NASCAR Foundation and The Iowa Speedway Foundation.”
Riders must register by July 15, 2012, to receive the commemorative shirt the day of the ride. Riders not registered by then will also get shirts, but may not receive them the day of the ride.
The rally features two more group rides, the John Lehman Tribute Ride on Thursday with a town party destination in Newton, IA, and a Military Tribute Ride led by legendary custom bike builder Dave Perewitz to the National Motorcycle Museum on Friday. To join the ride on each day, you must have a Rally ticket for that day. For more information on these rides, check out the rally’s official website, www.iowagrandrally.com.
A copy of the registration form is available at www.iowaspeedway.com, www.iowagrandrally.com, or by stopping into the Iowa Speedway ticket office. Iowa Grand Motorcycle Rally passes are still on sale, and are available by visiting www.iowagrandrally.com, or by calling 1-866-RUSTY-GO.
