After disapointing performances for most of the 2013 NHRA Harley-Davidson Drag Racing Series the Kevin Boyer Nitro Harley drag racing team finally feels it has overcome what ever was causing the ACE / KBR top fuel Harley drag bike not to get down the track. The team decided after the Cordova event to skip the Epping race and get the bike back into the shop where it proceeded to tear the bike down and replace everything in preparation to go testing.
Boyer remarked, “Our frustration grew because nothing seemed to be working the way we wanted it to. I commend our entire team for working hard and not giving up to figure out what was causing the issues”.
The team headed to the CMDRA event at Medicine Hat Raceway this past weekend to see if all the hard work paid off. Kevin Boyer proceeded to twist-the-wick on the 800 horsepower top fuel nitro Harley through a total of six successful 300 foot passes in which the bike performed like it should. What ever the problems that troubled this team since Richmond seem to have evaporated. However the real test comes this Friday and Saturday when the team travels to Pacific Raceways in Seattle, WA for the NHRA Harley-Davidson Drag Racing Series August 16th and 17th, 2013.
“We certainly faced our share of challenges this year and were hopeful the ACE / KBR top fuel Harley drag bike performs well at Pacific Raceway”, said Boyer.
If all goes well in Seattle the team will head to Woodburn, OR for the Northwest Motorcycle August 24th and 25th, 2013.
