It was a miracle, but Sin overcame the dire constraints of opium addiction, and the following, day her appetite returned. Together for two days straight, as the ship entered Chinese waters, the couple ate and worked out twice a day. Sin’s color returned and although she was thin, she quickly regained her strength. As they neared the Victoria region of Hong Kong, Sin’s ability to move around the ship increased immensely.
