Nikos was on a tour of Europe when his motorbike was stolen from Cork city, early on Saturday morning. He was planning on heading to the Ring of Kerry (Ireland) on the day it was taken.
“We just parked up the motorcycle for a few hours because we came very late at night, at around 11:30, and we would be up early the next morning to do the Ring of Kerry.”
It was later found in a river in Cork city, about 300 metres from the hostel he was staying in with his girlfriend. The biker is now planning to end his holiday early and return to Greece – where he lives.
He told RTÉ’s Liveline how, ”We just didn’t want to continue after something like that, it wouldn’t feel right.”
He described how the biker community in Cork offered him a motorcycle to finish his trip but that he wouldn’t feel comfortable with that.
