DEI’s new ONYX Series Flexible Heat Shield, available in a rich black finish. The heat shield is said to outperform others currently on the market.
For improved thermal performance, DEI joined two durable materials together to form a dual-layer design. The outer layer is made from heat-treated glass fiber that’s impregnated with molten aluminum; formed into a tight weave for added durability and strength. The inside material is made of a specially treated, high temperature resistant fabric (89% silica) capable of withstanding extreme exhaust heat – up to 1350°F. The outer edge features a surge stitch for improved durability. All hardware is stainless steel.
This proprietary textile technology combined with DEI’s unique shield standoff bracket design provides maximum potential for cooling and heat dissipation. In addition to use in external applications to protect legs and boots, DEI’s flexible heat shield can also be used as a barrier between the exhaust and plastic bodywork, suspension components, or electrical harnesses.
