A successful motocross rider when he was young, Christophe Barriere-Varju became a businessman and distanced himself from riding motorcycles. He always dreamed of taking part in the cruelest, toughest, most dangerous and demanding cross-country race, the Dakar Rally.
This films documents his incredible journey through endless hardship in the desert, from broken GPS beacons to the bivouac life, with the constant fear of not making it through to the end of the rally, the mixed feelings and sleep deprivation.
But if you expect Christophe to fail, you’ll be glad to know that each of the hardships he had to endure only made him stronger. In 2010, Christophe Barriere-Varju reached the finish line of the Dakar in the 72nd position, being in the first half of the ranking.
