INTERMOT to take place in Cologne until 2016–The German Motorcycle Industry Association (IVM) as the conceptual sponsor of INTERMOT Cologne has agreed with Koelnmesse to extend their successful collaboration on the event earlier than planned so that manufacturers, dealers and motorcycle enthusiasts from all over the world will have planning security beyond 2010. The agreement reached in December 2009 extends to the end of 2016.
?Both parties to the agreement ? IVM and Koelnmesse ? joined forces in 2004 to further strengthen INTERMOT Cologne as a leading international motorcycle fair. BIKERNET INTERPLANETARY HEADQUARTERS FLOOD WATCH–Los Angeles will be hammered with 4 inches of rain today. The headquarters were under water Monday after only 1-inch. The troops are filling sandbags, and doing drugs to relieve the stress. Panic has enveloped this old 1925 building. Chris Maida, the editor of American Iron, flew in last night from the east coast to give our staff a survival seminar.
So far we’ve survived. I read that Montgomery, Alabama receives an average of 53 inches of rain annually. We are lucky to get 10, so 2-inches in one day is a major disaster.

They are satin finish. For some reason metric bolts on the clamps but 12″ X 13 on the bottom. Production will not have any metric bolts.

Harley-Davidson Moves to New Beach Street Location for 2010 Daytona Bike Week– New for 2010, Harley-Davidson will hold Daytona Bike Week 2010 events at both the Daytona International Speedway and at a new location in Riverfront Park on Beach Street across from Daytona Beach Harley-Davidson. There will be no official Harley-Davidson events at the Ocean Center Arena this year.
Harley-Davidson events at the Daytona International Speedway from Saturday, Feb. 27 to Saturday, March 6, will include demo rides on the 2010 model motorcycles, a pin stop for Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.) members, and other activities.

Also, in a twist with some good timing, he heard from an acquaintance here in town that is a professional photographer, Jason Maris, who says ? we spoke of wanting to start a vintage bike photo essay and video, which would include environmental portraits, motorcycle beauty shots, racing shots, mechanic shots, etc?..I would really like to explore this project from the garages to the the race track, with everything in between, so plan on me picking your brain soon.? He has been out to Fullers shop, and supposedly will make his way to my shop for some background shots soon. It appears we may have some decent pics for our Bikernet reports.
On the Bikes, my racebike will be on display as stated earlier, at the Great American Motorcycle show in Atlanta Jan 23,24.
Deans bike: We have the motor out, and replaced 5th gear in the tranny with a close ratio gear, a typical upgrade for our unlimited V1 class (not legal for the stock class). I?ve pulled his carbs, torn them down, and sent them to our Friend / Sponsor /and CB350 Guru Bill Moeller at Bore-Tech http://www.bore-tech.com/index.htm for some ?massaging?. Dean continues to make progress on his new chassis after hours at the shop.
My Bike: NOT a good evening last nite. Front drum brakes are required for the classes we run?.they are vintage bikes?anyhow, I run a Suzuki Titan 500 ( T500 ) front drum, which gives about twice the braking power of the stock CB350 unit. Well, these hubs are prone to cracking. This brake has been working exceptionally well, so I was scared to take it apart and have a look?..Well, I did, I used flourescent Penetrant NDI and a blacklight on it, and sure enough it was cracked, but not real bad. So, I decided a touchup welding was in order, and I brought it to my good friend Jim Sweggar, a 40 yr pro welder.
He did what he could, just as I asked,?.but the CRACKS progressed THRU the hub face!!!!! Dang it, I?m 2 weeks from a race?..and BRAKE-LESS!!!….then I recalled a brake my boyeeee Dean had stashed, a ?Water Buffalo? brake?..yeah, one of the most AWSOME front drum brakes ever produced. I think I may be back in business.
This brake won’t be ready for Talladega on Feb 6, but it will for Daytona! Just a tid-bit of Vintage knowledge, but the old 2 stroke street bikes had HUGE drums because there is no Engine braking with a 2 stroke?.kinda like a sloppy farrt.

If you do not know who your state Representative is then please do not worry. The folks at the call center will help figure out who it is and/or you can ask to leave it for the House Judiciary Chairman Rep. John Tilley. He can decide to not even hear the bill and it will then die in committee which is what we would like to see happen.
These 2 bills can have dire consequences to your Liberty and expand the ability of law enforcement to target various groups they may not agree with. These are the two Criminal Gang bills being considered in the KY State Legislature. Below is a list of key elements of the bills. They are the same bills except for a technical correction between them.
? The definition of what constitutes a criminal gang is so broad that arguably the state Legislature, the VFW or even the Boy Scouts would be subject to its terms. (section 6-1)
? Does NOT define what constitutes as ?primary activities the commission of criminal acts?. (section 6-1)
? Creates a secret database that is not available to be checked by the public or individuals to contest that they may have been wrongly added to the database. Yet is shared widely throughout law enforcement and may create situations in which law enforcement targets individuals wrongly placed in the database. (sections 1 and 3)
? A person can be added to this database without his or her knowledge and the only level of proof to do so is ?reasonable suspicion.? (section 2 – 4)
? Allows a person to be added simply for suspicion they are a member or just associated with the group. (section 2-1-c,d)
? Fails to allow for due process in that you can be entered into this database and subject to civil and criminal prosecution based on the findings of a separate jurisdiction, state or even country. (Section 6-1-b)
? Due process is also denied since you can be labeled as a criminal gang member simply because an ?informant? or law enforcement officer says you are a member without trial, hearing or other legal proceeding. (section 6-2)
? Infringes upon the constitutional right to assemble by allowing guilt by association. Whether the person in question did anything wrong or not but can be found guilty for associating with others that may or may not have committed criminal acts. (section 6-2-e)
? The definition for ?Pattern of Criminal Gang Activity? is overly broad and could include as little as three speeding tickets. Even federal law limits this definition to violent offenses such murder; manslaughter and other class A type felonies. (section 6-4)
? No difference is made between recruitment in the first or second degree and first degree recruitment is impossible due to section 7-1-b, c.
? Section 9 allows for the taking of property but does not limit the type of property allowed to be taken sufficiently to those convicted of criminal acts. For instance a person is listed in the database as a ?suspected associate? or because a ?reliable informant? said he/she was a member, then is that person?s property then subject to forfeiture even though they had not been convicted of any crime?
Due to the vaguely worded language of this bill and its attempt to convey guilt by association thus infringing on our right to assembly, I would ask that every effort be made to defeat this bill as written. Please be sure to make the call at 800-372-7181 and ask your Representative to VOTE NO on these two bills.
