Royal Enfield Brings The Classic Home–The Royal Enfield 500 Classic and 350 Classic are established in the North American and European Markets since 2008. Now the motorcycle manufacturer brought the two retro models, inspired by the legendary 1950s J2, home to India.
While this seems an unusual strategy for Royal Enfield, most of the development and design of the Classic 500 and 350 has actually been done in Europe. The engine and powertrain design of the Classic 500 have been validated by Dr McGuigan of Cranfield University, and Ricardo in the UK. The design team has been in collaboration with Xenophya Design, also in the UK, right from the concept stage.
The chassis engineering was designed with Vepro, UK, Engines Engineering, Italy and the fuel injection system is from Keihin, Japan. Just to suit the Indian emission norms, the final validation of the complete vehicle was carried out by ARAI in Pune.
