400hp Supercharged IS C to SEMA NEXT WEEK IN VEGAS–Fox Marketing is back for the 2009 SEMA Show, following up last years twin turbo IS F with a supercharged 2010 Lexus IS350C. While Lexus’ hard-top cabrio may be an odd choice for a performance makeover, you can’t deny the equipment Fox used to create the BASF Foxy Green, 405 horsepower drop-top.

A ProCharger C2 blower huffs five PSI into the stock 3.5-liter V6, with a Yonaka intercooler keeping the charge in check while spent hydrocarbons are shuttled out an F-Sport exhaust. Lexus’ internal tuning division was tapped to supply the stoppers, with 14-inch discs clamped by six-piston caliper in front. iForged wheels, sized 20×9 inches in front and 20×11.5 inches in the rear, are wrapped in Toyo T1Rs and dropped over a set of Yonaka SPECII 36-way adjustable coilovers.

Since this is a Fox creation, the exterior mods are both extensive and custom, with a bespoke front lip, side skirts, grilles, badges and a two-inch fender flare.

Touching and Heartfelt Men Stories SPONSORED BY THE 2010 SMOKEOUT–
1. I was walking through the cemetery this morning and saw a guy crouching down behind a tombstone. I said, “Morning.” He said, “No, just taking a shit.”

2. When I was a kid, I used to pray every night for a new bike. Then I realized that the Lord doesn’t work that way, so I stole a bike and asked him to forgive me.

3. My girlfriend was in labor with our first child. She was shouting, “Get this out of me! Give me the drugs.” She looked at me and said, “You did this to me you bastard!”

I casually replied, “If you would care to remember, I wanted to stick it up your ass, but you said, “It’ll be too painful.”

4. I went to an extremely attractive female doctor today for my annual checkup. She told me that I had to quit masturbating. I asked why and she said, “Because I am trying to examine you.”

Dierks

Dierks Bentely “Miles & Music for Kids” coming to Phoenix–For the first time in four years, multi-platinum country music star Dierks Bentley takes his annual “Miles & Music for Kids” celebrity motorcycle ride and concert to his hometown of Phoenix, Arizona, hitting the road for the debut stop on Saturday, November 21. Proceeds from the event will benefit Phoenix Children’s, a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.

The hour-long ride will depart Buddy Stubbs Harley-Davidson on 13850 N. Cave Creek Road and travel along the beautiful, mountain-lined Piestewa Peak Parkway to the Red Mountain Freeway, passing downtown Phoenix Children’s. The trek ends at Tempe Marketplace with a concert featuring Bentley and special guests.

Bentley has joined forces this year with Nationwide Insurance, CMT ONE COUNTRY and the Children’s Miracle Network to expand the successful “Miles & Music for Kids” event to six cities across the country in 2009 and 2010 with all proceeds benefiting Children’s Miracle Network hospitals in those areas. The four previous “Miles & Music for Kids” events have raised over $715,000.”Phoenix Children’s provides so many amazing medical services for families in my hometown,” says Bentley. “It was an obvious choice when we decided to take this event on the road. The weather is perfect in Arizona in November, and we are going to do our best to pull out all the stops and raise some money for the community where I grew up. I hope everyone can come out.”

Tickets for the event are on sale now through Ticketmaster. Tickets for the ride, concert and commemorative T-shirt are $45, or those looking to attend the concert only can purchase tickets for $20. Special VIP packages are also available.

We will bring you more details on “Miles & Music for Kids” and special guests at the Phoenix event as we get closer to the date.

TINMAN AIN’T DISTRACTED ANYMORE–I’ve been gone awhile and it’s good to be back.I was reading the “Early News” when I came across this:

DISTRACTED DRIVING SUMMIT– Distraction: The performance degradation of a primary task upon introduction of a secondary act.

My thoughts on getting drivers to pay attention are to rip out all the airbags, then attach a ten inch spike on the steering wheel aimed directly at the drivers forehead. It just might get a few folks to forget about their phones for a little while.

Just a thought.

Peace Always,

MAN GUILTY OF DWI IN LA-Z-BOY–DULUTH, Minn. (AP) — A Minnesota man has pleaded guilty to driving his motorized La-Z-Boy chair while drunk. A criminal complaint said 62-year-old Dennis LeRoy Anderson told police he left a bar in the northern Minnesota town of Proctor on his chair after drinking eight or nine beers.

Prosecutors say Anderson’s blood alcohol content was 0.29, more than three times the legal limit, when he crashed into a parked vehicle in August 2008. He was not seriously injured. Police said the chair was powered by a converted lawnmower and had a stereo and cup holders.Sixth Judicial District Judge Heather Sweetland stayed 180 days of jail time Monday and ordered two years of probation for Anderson.

His attorney, David Keegan, did not immediately return a call for comment.

STOP STEALING MY FUCKING WORDS, BANDIT IS IN TROUBLE– I wrote the article you have posted at:http://www.bikernet.com/news/PageViewer.asp?PageID=2897

To make it worse you have a byline that reads “unknown source.” I am not an unknown source. If you are going to reprint my fucking work ask first and then attribute it to me. Ask anybody, I am very reasonable about it but I do not let people just steal my work. I take it that this was just a misunderstanding. Do we understand each other? Don’t do that again.

FULL THROTTLE Saloon to debut on truTV November 10–Here we go with yet another reality TV-show circling around bikes and bikers: truTV heads to the legendary Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota, in a new series called ?Full Throttle Saloon?. The show, which takes viewers behind the scenes at Michael Ballard’s legendary biker watering hole, is set to premiere Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 10 pm Eastern Time.

Sounds interesting and well deserved for Michael and his team, who are busting their chops during the two weeks of the Rally to make a year’s worth of revenue. On the other hand the fact that the official press release lists ?biker gangs? along with ?recession [?] weather, the egos of some of the country’s biggest musical acts, and local law enforcement? as ?unpredictable factors? Michael has to deal with, threw us of a little.

Hard to predict what to expect when the guys who produce Hell’s Kitchen and I Survived a Japanese Game Show are involved in something like this, but we should all know more in about two weeks.

LOOK OUT! Paul Yaffe 30-INCH Wheel–This is going to be the next big thing in custom motorcycle wheels, literally: Paul Yaffe has a brand new 30-in. front wheel in the works, along with the tires to match the gigantic rim. Yes, you read it correctly: thirty inches, that is three-zero.

When we first saw the mockup wheel sitting in his office, we thought to be looking at the latest in Fred Flintstone technology or a rough piece for a new cafe table. Hard to believe a wooden disc this size represents an actual wheel.

Paul tells us that the wheel is already well in the works and the tires are also being crafted right now. It will although be a couple of weeks since anyone will be able to lay eyes on the actual assembly. Stay tuned.
