LowLa poster

AFT Customs? latest photo shoot is coming up on July 3rd. If you live in Northern California, I would suggest checking this event out. It should be interesting. I know I have said it a million times already but the shoot will be of the AFT Customs Girls modeling agencies? bike build. That?s right, the girls built the bike under the guidance of AFT Customs? Jim Giuffra (2005 and 2008 AMD Metric World Champ and winner of Best Metric at the 2008 Bikernet Brouhaha). The bike the girls built, ?LowLa? will be raised up on the top of the Kennedy Gold Mine scaffold with nine models. The photographer will be shooting 30 feet off the ground from a crane. That is cool?.I don?t care what you say. For more on the shoot, go to www.aftcustoms.com

bozzie poster

Speaking of photo shoots, Bozzie Custom Performance has had his Bonneville racing bikes shot by Jerry Southworth of Unique Exposure photography studios. Jerry is better known for photographing Bandit?s Assalt Weapan and for the work he does on Charlie Brechtel?s Biker?s inner Circle. These posters are going to be great! There are three bikes that you can choose from including a 1945 dual knuckle bike called ?The Thing?, the dual EVO bike, ?Wild Thing? and his hot pro street green bagger. All the bikes were shot with the hot girls of AFT Customs? modeling agency. That means that you can get a poster and have them sign the poster at upcoming shows nationwide. The posters will also be available on Bozzie?s website. For more on all the folks mentioned, check out the following links www.bozziecustoms.comwww.bikersinnercirclewww.uniqueexposure.net

There will be more on Jerry Southworth and Unique Exposure in the upcoming weeks. If you need your bike shot for publication or if you need some help on a website, I recommend that you contact Jerry. He has great ties with biker media, does awesome work and his websites are great and affordable. So go check out his site for more www.uniqueexposure.net

love this dr.

NEW DOCTOR ELECTED TO BE BIKERNET SURGEON GENERAL–Q: Doctor, I’ve heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life. Is this true?
A: Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that’s it… don’t waste them on exercise. Everything wears out eventually. Speeding up your heart will not make you live longer; that’s like saying you can extend the life of your car by driving it faster. Want to live longer? Take a nap.

Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?
A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does a cow eat? Hay and corn. And what are these? Vegetables. So a steak is nothing more than an efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to your system. Need grain? Eat chicken. Beef is also a good source of field grass (green leafy vegetable). And a pork chop can give you 100% of your recommended daily allowance of vegetable products.

Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake?
A: No, not at all. Wine is made from fruit. Brandy is distilled wine, that means they take the water out of the fruity bit so you get even more of the goodness that way. Beer is also made out of grain. Bottoms up!

Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?
A: Well, if you have a body and you have fat, your ratio is one to one. If you have two bodies, your ratio is two to one, etc.

Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise program?
A: Can’t think of a single one, sorry. My philosophy is: No Pain…Good!

Q: Aren’t fried foods bad for you?
A: YOU’RE NOT LISTENING!!! ….. Foods are fried these days in vegetable oil. In fact, they’re permeated in it. How could getting more vegetables be bad for you?

Q: Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the middle?
A: Definitely not! When you exercise a muscle, it gets bigger. You should only be doing sit-ups if you want a bigger stomach.

Q: Is chocolate bad for me?
A: Are you crazy? HELLO Cocoa beans ! Another vegetable!!! It’s the best feel-good food around!

Q: Is swimming good for your figure?
A: If swimming is good for your figure, explain whales to me.

Q: Is getting in-shape important for my lifestyle?
A: Hey! ‘Round’ is a shape!

Well, I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had about food and diets. And remember: ‘Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways – Chardonnay in one hand – chocolate in the other – body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming ‘WOO HOO, What a Ride’

SEMA banner

THOUGHTS ON SEMA EFFORT TO SUPPORT MOTORCYCLE RIGHTS– I have read this over a couple of times and want to share a few of my initial thoughts. I am going to try and follow your letter as it pertains to the order of my thoughts with that said I shall begin with the SEMA show. I begin With SEMA show for 2 reasons, First it was the First major topic mentioned and secondly I feel that The opening of SEMA show to Motorcycles and Powersports can be related best to an initiation ceremony or a test of worth so to speak. If the SEMA show has a weak turn out for motorcycles why would the SEMA people believe that we are serious about the issues we say we are!

I additionally feel this to be a significant chance for our industry to reach people who may have otherwise not given the Motorcycle aftermarket any serious thought. SEMA show is considered by many to be the Biggest single aftermarket event in the U.S. and adding motorcycles can only benefit the Motorcylce community as long as the community participates. I feel that consistent and regular participation can be a huge benefit to any involved and can be a major factor in long term success.

Now I will briefly share my thoughts about the forming of a committee and being active members. I do believe that forming a committee is very vital in the progression of this effort and I again feel that active involvement from one or all of us can be very valuable to us in the motorcycle community as a whole.

I will also say that though I am very much for active participation and involvement I would personally rank my desire at a 6-7 on the 10 scale. My reasons are simple first I feel that there are far more people currently that may be better prepared to be a #10 regional leader than myself personally and for another reason as a regional leader or someone else at a 10 level of involvement would potentially require more travel than I can honestly budget for at this time, but I do desire to become more active and progress my involvement in the aftermarket and rights segments of our community.

As for the mission statement I agree with the points that are being put out there and feel that this is a great draft and will be looking this portion over further to see if I may have any ideas or tweaks to suggest.

My third and nearly final thought is that of the membership of the segment of SEMA. I initially feel that keeping an American V-twin membership would be very cool I also feel that we would be doing a great disservice to not only ourselves but the motorcycle industry as a whole by singling out only a small portion. I feel that if the Motorcycle industry as a whole is involved we could better direct our efforts to the issues that are important to us. The issues that affect the American motorcycle aftermarket also affects the metric market as well.

It is my Belief that this effort has great potential and will be a great benefit to all those involved in motorcycling whether it be the weekend rider or the thousands of shops and builders nationwide.

Big Bear Touring

Syracuse Product Liability Trial Underway Against Big Bear American Made Choppers–Syracuse, N.Y., May 11, 2009 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX)– A product liability trial arising out of an alleged custom motorcycle defect begins today in the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York. The plaintiff?s claims against the defendant, a California-based company with a worldwide distribution network, include defective design, defective manufacturing, inadequate warnings, breach of warranty and negligence. The Honorable David E. Peebles, United States Magistrate Court Judge, will preside over the trial, which is expected to last two weeks.

The plaintiff in the lawsuit captioned Marcus J. (Marc) Mathews v. Big Bear American Made Choppers, Inc. (Case No.: 5:04-cv-1206), is a forty year old resident of Solvay, New York. He is represented by Anthony S. Bottar and Michael A. Bottar, of the Syracuse, New York law firm of Bottar Leone, PLLC.

According to the complaint, on June 13, 2004, the plaintiff was riding his three month old Venom ProStreet motorcycle in Alton, Ne Hampshire when the front fender assembly failed causing the nearly 10 pound fender to come into contact with and lock the front tire of the motorcycle. The plaintiff then lost control of the motorcycle, crashed into another motorcycle, and was thrown into a ravine where he sustained severe arm and leg injuries. After more than two years of surgeries, the plaintiff?s right leg was amputated above the knee.

According to court records, the Alton Police Department, with assistance from New Hampshire State Troopers, conducted an investigation after the accident which revealed that two of the four 1/4″-20 screws intended to hold the motorcycle?s front fender to the bike had fallen out prior to the accident. Eye witness accounts, a tire imprint on the underside of the front fender, and a distinct skid signature left on the roadway led the police to conclude that a defect in the motorcycle caused the accident.

After three years of discovery, the plaintiff?s attorneys claim that Big Bear American Made Choppers had actual or constructive notice, more than one year prior to the plaintiff?s accident, that the method it selected to attach the Venom?s front fender to its lower legs was inadequate.

Bottar Leone, PLLC, is a trial law firm based in Syracuse, New York. Since 1983, the Firm?s legal team has limited its practice to representing the victims of negligence and malpractice throughout the State of New York.

bulldog bash

PRESS STATEMENT : ?Bulldog disappointed that police ask for license review?– We are very disappointed that Warwickshire police should seek a review of the show?s license at this late stage. They have had nine months in which to seek a review -we can only guess at the reasons for waiting until now; but it would seem to be designed to cause disruption to the show.

Their bid doesn?t appear to contain any new arguments that would justify stopping the Bulldog Bash, though there may be some technical issues that could be resolved without a review. We would point out that there was a full two-day hearing of the license application last year which went through every aspect of the show in great detail ?this resulted in Stratford council granting us a ten year license for the event.

This decision obviously disappointed the police who then mounted a hugely disruptive, expensive and we believe unnecessary operation outside the show. The event went off with no problems as it has every year, yet the police are again trying to get the show cancelled.

Asst Chief Constable Bill Holland has already made it clear he doesn?t want the show to go ahead and has talked of repeating that disruptive police operation again if it does – something we know local people are unhappy about.

It seems inappropriate to us and we would again appeal to the police to work with us as they have in the past to make sure we have a safe and successful Bulldog Bash. We are confident the event will go ahead ?any issues the police have can be resolved between the organizers, themselves and Stratford council.

Tickets are available from The Bulldog Bash, PO Box 5026, East Reading, RG6 1QZ ? Please send a cheque or postal order for ?50 per person, plus a first class postage paid SEA, to arrive no later than 30th of June. After this date the gate price of ?55 applies.
