Hey,

Crazy shit, our custom motorcycle market represents so much more to this country than cheap mpg transportation. It’s the essence of freedom, the last bastion of the Code of the West and a glistening metal flake reminder of what this country was supposedly based on. So let’s party every night and defend and respect freedom during the day.

So what’s it all about? Check the news. Between global warming and safetycrats they want us wrapped and tied 24/7. I say there’s a balance, but we’ll see. In the meantime the El Diablo run approaches and so does the Legend of the Motorcycle Concourse in Half Moon Bay. I’ll tell you about my plans shortly.

Here’s my bullshit tech, money saving tip for the week. Quit buying bottled water. In most cases tap water in the United States is cleaner. A recent case Western Reserve University report found that 15 of 39 samples had bacterial counts almost twice as high as Cleveland tap water. Here’s the financial aspect: A single 20-ounce bottle of water costing $1.50 would pay for about 1,000 gallons of municipal water–enough to fill that same bottle every day for 13 years. Okay, let’s touch on global warming: It takes 1.5 million barrels of crude oil to create the plastic in just one year’s worth of water bottles. Then think about transporting this shit from Fiji, France and Maine to L.A. Then there’s the trash aspect. That plastic crap is everywhere.

This article from The Week Magazine pointed out that people are changing their attitudes regarding bottled water. Cities are banning it from job sites, etc. Incredible!

ANOTHER BIKERNET WINNER–I just received the prize package from you, in the mail today. Lots of cool garage art, a hat, a dvd, and your Orwell book. I have read this on your site and loved it. I had bought one of your other books off of Bikernet, “Outlaw Justice”, and enjoyed it. I would love to buy a copy of “Prized Possession,” if you should ever do another print run. I’ve been following your “Chance” series as well. I’ve been a long time subscriber of the Cantina and look forward to the future installments.

Happy 60th birthday Bandit! Thanks so much for the box of goods, we still have another 4 to 6 weeks before we get some decent riding weather here in North Dakota, this should help shorten the wait.

NEW HOT BIKE ABOUT TO HIT THE STREETS–Two words sum up this issue: Eddie Trotta!Eddie?s been doing this forever, and to see something roll out of his shop like it was something he built back in the ?70s is awesome! Most people think all he builds are the long, low, drop-seat pro-street style bikes, but those are the TV bikers. This bike goes back to Eddie’s roots and it is badass.

Jay Hodge shot and wrote the story and he’s one crazy SOB who knows how to snap a damn good photo.

Also inside is a hot little black and red Shovel this guy slammed together for Daytona last year, I love this bike. We got 40 new products from the Cincy V-Twin show, a quick road test on Harley?s newest?the Cross Bones, and lots of tech. There’s more but I can’t remember haven’t had my coffee yet.

Have a great weekend and tell Sin Wu I said hi.

THE SEMINOLE HARD ROCK ROADHOUSE DAYTONA ROCKED AT THE DOGHOUSE ON MAIN STREE WITH BANDS, BUILDERS, BABES AND BENEFITS– HOLLYWOOD, Fla. March, 2008– The Seminole Hard Rock Roadhouse was the place to party in Daytona this year. Located at the Doghouse Bar & Grill on Daytona Beach, the rock n roll was always playing, the Hog Wild Girls and Hard Rock Models were always rocking and the beer was continuously flowing, once again making the Doghouse the hottest spot on Main Street every night of the week.

The Seminole Hard Rock Roadhouse wouldn’t be complete without top name custom bike builders and their bikes. This year, the Roadhouse featured bikes and merchandise from Billy Lane, Choppers Inc., Russell Mitchell, Exile Cycles, Paul Cox, Paul Cox Industries, and Ami James and Marlowe B. of Love Hate Choppers. Each builder had one bike featured and made several appearances throughout the week to meet fans and sign autographs.

As always, the Seminole Hard Rock Roadhouse had some new and fresh features this year in Daytona, including the Biker Fusion event hosted by Billy Lane and Paul Cox. This event gave the general public a chance to mix with the A-list of the motorcycle industry while raising money for a great cause, Soldier’s Angels. By the end of the week the industry raised over $30,000 for Soldier’s Angels with the specific mission of providing money to outfit a convoy support center in Iraq. This generous donation for the troops would not have been possible without Billy Lane and Paul Cox’s support as well as sizeable contributions from the Seminole Tribe, Bruce Rossmeyer’s Destination Daytona, Ron Segal at Segal Fine Arts, Biker Design, Dave Marshlack, Owner of the Doghouse Bar & Grill, P.I.N.K. Vodka, The Next Great American Bike Builder, Sucker Punch Sally’s, Broward Motorsports and Baker Drivetrain. Once again, bikers stepped up and supported those who fight for our right to be free.

This year also saw the debut of the H2Ocean Art Fusion Experiment at the Seminole Hard Rock Roadhouse in the Doghouse Bar & Grill. This event matched up several nationally acclaimed tattoo artists, who each drew for three minutes and then switched to complete one another?s drawings, making each piece of art a truly collaborative effort. The completed art was auctioned off for the Soldier’s Angels charity.

Ami James, of TLC’s Miami Ink was signing autographs and getting his picture taken with fans while he was there to promote his new company, Love Hate Choppers. Love Hate?s bike builder, Marlowe B. unveiled their new Love Hate 145 at the Seminole Hard Rock Roadhouse, where it was on display for the week and received critical acclaim. Ami James also hosted his own tattoo contest, Art of Tattoo, which featured contestants from all over the world.

Another feature for the Roadhouse Tour this year was the collaboration with a new motorcycle show, The Next Great American Builder. Right now, amateur bike builders can apply to be on the show (at http://www.greatamericanbuilder.tv), and 13 will be selected to live and work together for about three months in New Orleans. At the Seminole Hard Rock locations, The Next Great American Builder hosts Billy Lane and Paul Cox were featured along with their bikes. Episodes for the show were filmed on location with Lane, Cox and the other celebrity builders, and it was a major attraction throughout Bike Week.

Once again, the Seminole Hard Rock Roadhouse at the Doghouse Bar & Grill proved itself as the place to be for bike week with hotter babes, colder beer and better bikes than anywhere else in Daytona. The Doghouse was the hottest place to be on Main Street and was packed every night of the week, in fact in broke records for Mainstreet.

The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, the title sponsor of the Roadhouse, is a destination where rock n rollers from across the nation can realize their rock n’ roll dreams. The 86-acre resort in Hollywood, Florida, located between Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, is pure paradise. It features a colossal 130,000 square foot casino, a lush 4-acre lagoon tropical pool area, a legendary Hard Rock Caf?, a sensational European-style spa and fitness center, and the famous Hard Rock Live concert hall. Seminole Paradise, South Florida’s newest entertainment destination for savvy shopping, delicious dining and explosive entertainment offers a little something for everyone, both day and night. Other sponsors include Budweiser, Michael Lichter Photography, Bikernet.com, Biker Design, the Doghouse and Keyboard Carriage.
