NEW MODEL SPOTTED IN INDY LAST WEEKEND–Words fail. Well not really. I think the Sabretooth Association is looking for lawyers. Perhaps this is the “sport” answer to Boss Hawg.

Personally I think you could make a better statement if you alerted the media, gathered the neighbors and built a bonfire out of hundred dollar bills.

SOMETHING HAPPENED AT BANDIT’S CANTINA BAR–Ted was drinking in a bar when the guy sitting beside him fell off his stool.

Ted helped him back up, but soon he fell off again.

“How about if I take you home, buddy?” asked Ted.

The drunk agreed.

On the way to the car, he fell twice more.

When Ted got him home, the poor man fell again just walking up the sidewalk.

Ted rang the bell and a woman answered the door.

Ted said, “Ma’am, your husband was too drunk to come home on his own, so I drove him.”

She looked puzzled. “Where’s his wheelchair?”

CANTINA BANNER FOR NEWS

V-TWIN EXPO, LAST MONTH IN CINCY, PROVES SEVEN IS A LUCKY NUMBER– Agoura Hills, CA-Wrapping up the 7th annual V-Twin Expo in Cincinnati, OH proved the v-twin focused show hit the target from both a dealer and exhibitor perspective. The success also proves the industry is hopping.

“Booth renewals are way up from last year and dealers comments assured us we are bringing them value and positive return on their time investment” said V-Twin Show Producer Jim Betlach. “Seminars this year were standing room only, with many dealers attending the same seminar twice.” continued Betlach. “Dealers come for one reason; grow their business. We know this and cater to them from the exhibitors we work with to the seminars provided. Their growth is our business at the Expo” finished Betlach.

The V-Twin Expo welcomed over 500 exhibitors this year and well over twelve thousand guests in Cincinnati at the Duke Energy Center. The V-Twin Expo remains solely focused on the v-twin marketplace.

The Expo continues to provide a great foundation for them to learn about trends in the marketplace and to better understand their customer. “My product line is brand new, fun and well suited to the v-twin market. I had no idea how much impact one show could have on my business” said first time exhibitor Amy Skaling of Team Diva. Team Diva products range from embellished cowboy hats to blindingly sparkly belt buckles geared toward women riders. “As a new dealership owner in Texas, I thought I had my arms around what was available from an aftermarket perspective, but now after attending the Expo, I know so much more. I was able to see what my customers will want firsthand in one place at one time. This show was very productive for Hays County Cycle.” said Hays County Cycle owner, Tim Poag.

2008 V-Twin Expo dates are set, be sure to mark your calendars to attend the one and only v-twin focused show. February 2, 3, and 4 2008

Leroy thompson Signature_Series2

LEROY-THOMPSON ANNOUNCES DEBUT OF SIGNATURE SERIES PRODUCT LINE– Mentor, OHIO – February 21, 2007 – Leroy-Thompson announces its 2007 Signature Series product line, designed by Scott Webster. These new parts marry a variety of raw, hand-hammered metals to machined billet aluminum, attaining a contrasting industrial look.

Originally handcrafted for Leroy-Thompsons’ Biker Build-Off bike, these parts include gas caps, risers, grips and pegs that can be used as O.E. replacement parts. This unique product line is a result of Scott Webster’s imagination, fueled by the beauty he sees in imperfection.

All custom and O.E. parts feature a distinctive, hand-tooled insert, made with either a copper, brass or rusted steel finish, a fact that means each piece is unique. These parts are C.N.C. manufactured and hand-tooled in-house, using a production method utilizing hand hammering, aging and polishing, a process ensuring individuality and character in every part.

Because each part is unique and hand-tooled, it is assigned a production number and registered into a traceable database, an innovative method of customer service, support and follow up. Leroy-Thompson prides itself on understanding the process of ensuring quality and stands behind its products, offering a lifetime guarantee on craftsmanship and assuring a unique part at a reasonable price.

The Signature Series line of products was recently debuted at the V-Twin Expo in Cincinnati to overwhelming interest and excitement, and can also be seen on the customized Road King, built in partnership with ProCharger. This cool bike features parts from the Signature Series product line and SuperTrapp’s new 2:1, model #827-71453.

Leroy-Thompson is the brainchild of Scott Webster and is located just outside of Cleveland, Ohio. Leroy-Thompson specializes in handcrafted motorcycles and custom parts, and has been featured in the book The Art of the Bobber, as well as magazines such as Barnett’s, Cycle Source, Freeway, Hot Bike, Hot Rod’s Bike Works, IronWorks, Street Chopper, The Horse Backstreet Choppers, WILD, and most recently on an upcoming episode of The Biker Build-Off, airing March 22nd on the The Learning Channel, check your local listings. MARSHALS VISIT INDIANAPOLIS DEALER EXPO 2007–Yesterday at the Dealer Expo 2007 in Indianapolis U.S. Marshals served papers on about half a dozen exhibitors who allegedly manufactured unauthorized copies of patent-protected products. Manufacturers who claimed the exhibitors had violated intellectual property laws filed the lawsuits. Additional lawsuits may be served today.

Advanstar sends letters to companies accused of copying products, notifying them that their future participation in the Expo could be denied if they are held liable for the offense.

“It’s an understandable concern of our exhibitors,” said Tracy Harris, vice president with show owner Advanstar, “but we’re not the police.”

Contingent of lawyers are walking the floor looking for exhibitors who might be selling illegal copies of manufacturers products. I have had quite a few illegal copies of my parts produced here in the US and China. So, I can only approve what’s happening this weekend in Indianapolis.

For information I just wrote a piece to be published in Barnett Magazine about knock-offs produced in China.

military shot for song

TRIBUTE TO THE TROOPS–I realize I might be too late for the Thursday News, but I received an email message today that had a great song and video that honored our troops and thought it would be a good addition to the news. I know you are always looking for a chance to honr them when you can.

The song is titled, “If I Die Before You Wake”. The lyrics are:

Back home now I know you’re probably sleepin’
Over here it’s the middle of the day
I finally found the time to write a letter
Sittin’ here a half a world away

I heard about all them folks protestin’
As if I really want this war
But that don’t stop me from believin’
There’s just some things worth fightin’ for

CHORUS
And if I die before you wake,
I pray the world will take
A good look at what God’s given us
That we could only understand,
everything is in his hands
All we need is a little faith and trust
I want you to know it ain’t too high a price to pay
If I die before you wake

Tell everybody that I miss them
And I can’t wait to get back home
But until then I’ll serve my country
And be proud to wear this uniform

CHORUS
No it ain’t too high a price to pay
If I die before you wake

May God bless the troops!

STEALTH BIKEWORKS BANNER

STEALTH BIKE SHOP WEEKLY REPORT–Man the spring thaw is on here in Charlotte! 70 degrees today! It feels real good. Bikes are back out on the road!

Here at STEALTH BIKE WORKS things are starting to pick up some with the warmer weather. The FXR that we have been working on is almost done. It suffered a hammer attack from an ex-wife and has survived. We had a guy drop off an old rigid frame for a Triumph for some metal work. It is pretty rough right now but Chopper John is going to work some magic on it.

I did not send anything in last week. Our pit bull J.C. has had some surgery on his paw and has been using 3 legs. J.C. is the security chief at SBW. He should be as good as new in a couple of weeks.

Do any of you get tired of hearing all the celebrity news? You know the stuff like, “Brittany shaved her head!” Who cares? The tragic death of Anna Nicole Smith has now been turned into a circus. Everyone has come out of the wood work claiming to be the father of her daughter! Why? The same reason behind so many things, BIG $ ! I for one really get tired of all of this.

Not much else to report on this week. The riding season is real close so hang in there!

Until next week, RIDE!
