WISCONSIN ANTI-BAN LEGISLATION—
On April 13th, the Wisconsin State Assembly Committee on State Affairs voted to pass AB141 and AB142 out of committee and on to the floor for a full Assembly vote to be scheduled. These bills would prevent any state government, local government, or agency, from banning the sale or use of combustion engine vehicles or devices.
ABATE of Wisconsin presented this proposed legislature during our annual Lobby Day in March of this year. Although this is a big win for protecting motorcycling as we know it, the vote was not unanimous as we did not have support from the Democrats on the Committee. Protecting combustion engine vehicles as well as ATV’s, snowmobiles, small engines, and farming machinery is very important to us until technology advances enough to give a consumer confidence that an alternative fuel driven device will satisfy what they need the device for.
ABATE will continue to work with both sides of the aisle to ensure that a consumer in Wisconsin will not lose their right to purchase a device with an energy source that they do not feel will function as needed, because of regulations created in the State.

THE HONEY COMB IS OPEN—
Technically, all types of natural honey cannot expire because honey doesn’t spoil on its own. (More on why below.)
Honey can and will, however, change. It can change color from pale to dark. It can start clear and become cloudy. And, most peskily, its texture can change from smooth and thin to thick and grainy in a process called crystallization. Thankfully, though, none of these changes make the honey bad or unsafe to eat!
There is an important exception to this rule. If honey is exposed to moisture, it can ferment and spoil, which will be immediately obvious: smelly, sour, moldy and utterly unappetizing.
What is the difference between an Antimicrobial and an Antibiotic? • Antimicrobials act against a wide variety of organisms while antibiotics act only against bacteria. • Antimicrobials include antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, anti-helminths, and anti-protozoa. Unlike most antimicrobials, resistance is a problem with antibiotics.
Whether right or wrong, many believe that mead has close ties to the post-marriage celebration and is the reason we have the term “Honeymoon” to this day. Within many cultures including Welsh, German, and Scandinavian mead was often consumed during the wedding celebration as a toast to the bride and groom.
Mead was also believed to promote fertility and virility. From that ritual and belief sprouted the term “honeymoon.” The honey feature The earliest meads were made from local honey, water, and yeast. Yet honey was among the original sweeteners for wine. Therefore, even today, some mead is also made with grapes or other fruits

SAY HELLO TO THE EPA MOTOR COMPANY–Say goodbye to freedom.
History may someday record today as the beginning of the end of the internal combustion engine – and of individual liberty in the U.S.
According to news reports, the EPA is scheduled to release proposed auto emissions standards today on new car sales so stringent that the only way for automakers to meet them would be to shift two-thirds of their fleet to electric.
But wait. How can a regulatory agency do that? Consumers aren’t demanding electric cars. Lawmakers didn’t vote to force them on the public. The Environmental Protection Agency knows better, though, and, unless it’s neutered, plans to force EVs on you – for your own good.
As the Washington Post helpfully explains, “while the rule changes wouldn’t order or require auto companies to sell a certain number of electric vehicles, it would set emissions limits so tightly the only way to comply would be to sell large percentages of EVs.”
To be clear, we are not talking about air pollution. We are talking about emissions of carbon dioxide, which is not a pollutant but which the EPA has assumed the power to regulate.
The stated goal is to have up to 67% of new cars sold by 2032 be fully electric. (Today, EVs make up a tiny 6% of auto sales.)
The EPA’s latest salvo has put the auto industry in a bind. Having leaped into bed with environmental radicals and the Biden administration in years past, it now finds itself at the mercy of the federal government when it comes to what cars it will be allowed to sell.
The Washington Post notes that “The most aggressive options in the EPA’s proposal are so stringent that many automakers, especially those slowest to adopt electric cars and trucks, will see it as more aggressive than what they can realistically meet.”
We hate to say we told you so, but we told you so. Back in 2011, when we were with the now-defunct IBD editorials page. That year, automakers lined up to support the Obama administration’s ridiculously strict 54.5 miles per gallon fuel-economy standard, which was also designed to force-feed electric cars into the market. Instead of fighting, automakers bent the knee.
“Whatever their reason for caving in to White House demands,” we observed at the time, “the fact is that carmakers have just handed over their businesses lock, wheel, and engine to the dictates of government bureaucrats and global warming enthusiasts.”
Today, we will make another prediction.
That is: The EPA’s move will set off an intra-industry battle, with companies that have already sold their corporate souls to the climate change crowd “heroically” fighting for stricter EV mandates, while those that want to sell cars consumers demand will plead for regulatory leniency and get branded as heretics.
We also predict that none of these automakers will have the stones to argue that this entire socialistic campaign is horribly misguided. That it is a vast overreach of government power. That it is an affront to our basic liberties. That it will cost consumers a fortune. That it will be massively disruptive. And that, even if the EPA gets its way, it will achieve nothing climate-wise.
And that no matter how many concessions automakers make, climate hysterics will never be satisfied … until private ownership of cars is completely outlawed.
Can the EPA be stopped? Yes, but only if consumers rise up and demand an end to this regulatory dictatorship.

BIKERS INSIDE THE BELTWAY 2023–STANDING ON & HOLDING COMMON GROUND
Bikers inside the Beltway – Since the late eighties, the Motorcycle Riders Foundation and motorcyclists’ rights advocates have journeyed to Capitol Hill on behalf of the nation’s motorcyclists. Since 2009 and the inception of Bikers inside the Beltway, the journey matches the MFR’s immediate and long-range legislative goals.
Bikers inside the Beltway 2023 will not deviate from the MRF’s purpose – Standing on and holding common ground to protect the rights of all motorcyclists.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) response to the request from Congress, and initiated by the MRF, to provide the agency’s direction regarding protecting all highways users and especially motorcyclists from the perils of autonomous vehicles being driven without the driver’s full attention to traffic was less than stellar.
The words of former U.S. Representative David Price from North Carolina may well apply to the recent efforts of the Motorcycle Riders Foundation “… Understand that not every battle can be won on the first try and that politics is a matter of striking a balance between … compromising and finding common ground where you can and fighting where you must.”
The MRF found common ground among the nation’s state motorcyclist rights organizations, motorcycle club members, and all freedom loving motorcyclists who, as the Motorcycle Profiling Project demonstrates, are susceptible to being profiled while riding a motorcycle.
Although anti-profiling language was included in the mega funding legislation signed into law in December, the MRF will remain diligent in assisting SMROs pass anti-profiling legislation at the state level.
The MRF’s victories, realized in the waning hours of the 117th Congress in December, drive home Congressman Price’s words, and demonstrate the positive results from standing on and holding common ground. Those victories came from the year-after-year vigilance of MRF members writing, calling, and meeting with members of Congress during the Motorcycle Riders Foundation’s annual Bikers inside the Beltway.
Now is the time for you to make plans to attend Bikers inside the Beltway – May 15 & 16, 2023.
As in years past, Bikers inside the Beltway will be dual-faceted to accommodate in-person visits to Congress plus visits to local district offices.
To ensure that the mission of getting our message to Congress continues to be successful, please consider the following:
- Make your appointments locally or in Washington.
- Familiarize yourself with the briefing points.
- Confirm your appointment locally or in Washington.
- Virtual or in person, make notes on your meeting.
- Share your meeting notes with the MRF.

FROM BIKERNET BLOG — First Royal Enfield Electric Prototype may appear in 2023.
It’s no secret about Royal Enfield being in no rush to produce its electric vehicle range. The company has emphasized it wants “to get it right the first time.” This probably includes carrying the brand’s retro-inspired legacy into the electric age.
The manufacturer is set to build a new factory where electric motorcycles will eventually be produced. Enfield has recently acquired a new 60-acre parcel of land in Cheyyar near Chennai, where a new, cutting-edge production facility is set to be constructed.
The new Cheyyar plant will also be equipped to produce RE’s existing model range leading up to 2025. After which, depending on the demand, it can be configured to produce EVs.
Later on, maybe another facility may come up through Stark Motor, a Spanish EV firm Royal Enfield recently acquired. Stark’s technology could play a major role in the development of Royal Enfield’s upcoming EV line.

SEMA Reacts to EPA’s New Federal Emissions Standards
SEMA President and CEO Mike Spagnola released the following statement in regards to the Biden administration’s strict new greenhouse gas emissions standards announced yesterday:
On behalf of more than 7,000 SEMA members, we have significant concerns regarding the impact of these proposed regulations on automotive small businesses. The specialty aftermarket industry supports more than one million U.S. automotive manufacturing jobs, yet these people and businesses are often overlooked in the push to electrify our automotive sector.
We fully support the efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, but actively advocate for the ability of consumers and the marketplace to choose what works best for them. There are many options on the road to zero emissions, and we feel it is crucial for government policy to remain technology neutral.
The specialty automotive aftermarket business has been built around the internal combustion engine. It is also the same industry that has led the way in fuel innovations and conversions of old vehicles into new and cleaner technologies. Yet it is clear from the Biden administration’s actions and words that electrification is their technology of choice.
This large-scale shift will significantly disrupt automotive industry supply chains and potentially eliminate large numbers of jobs in vehicle manufacturing, parts production and repair shops. We are here to support the work of small business innovators while protecting the small business owners and those they employ by letting the market and innovation drive solutions to the environmental challenges we all seek to solve.

NEW FROM THE NATIONAL MOTORCYCLE MUSEUM–
1961 Harley-Davidson Sportster XLCH– With the new for 1957 XL model line, the “H” for touring, the “CH” as the new for 1958 high performance off road version, Harley-Davidson satisfied the needs of riders looking for lighter, nimbler high performance motorcycles.
This is a great almost totally unaltered CH that’s part of the Jill & John Parham Collection.
Following in the tracks of the K model, which remained only in racing form after 1956 as the KR750, the XL Sportster arrived in 1957. The biggest advancement over the K was overhead valves plus eventually electric starting on the basic XLH model. But the XLH options list included saddlebags, a windshield, buddy seat and riders could even opt for two ride heights by specifying 18 inch or 19 inch wheels. Seat options varied from traditional sprung post to rigid mount like on this ’61.
Some new, some as K model carryover, a wide range of racing parts were made available by the factory. The competition-only XLR, made in very small numbers for about nine years, shared few engine parts; a production racer. It became a threat on drag strips, hillclimbs and even in AMA sanctioned TT racing. Stripped, the Sportster served well at the drag strip; men like Leo Payne and his tuner Mike Wilson were even able to tune it for assaults on the Land Speed Record at Bonneville. While it has not played a significant role in the military, or often as a police mount, like its predecessors the K Model and the WL model, the Sportster has been a very universal machine.
After over 60 years in the model line-up the Sportster lives on. Recently with big changes to bring it comfort, 76 cubic inches and more than twice the horsepower and even Blue Tooth technology, it brings speed, smoothness and overall sophistication. The Sportster is as cool as ever.

HARLEY-DAVIDSON STOCK SLIPPING—
Factory stock Continues to Drop on CFO Departure. There could be more to it than just the problem with the CFO.
Shares of Harley-Davidson fell Thursday, as markets continued to digest the departure of the company’s chief financial officer and Wall Street analysts’ gloomier sales outlooks.
On Wednesday evening, Harley-Davidson (ticker: HOG) said its Chief Financial Officer Gina Goetter will step down at the end of the month. David Viney, vice president and treasurer will serve as interim CFO effective April 28.

NEW YORK TO BAN APPAREL WITH PFAS—
Recently signed by New York Governor Kathy Hochul, a new law will ban the sale of everyday apparel containing PFAS chemicals in the state starting on January 1, 2025.
The law will also ban the sale of PFAS-containing “outdoor apparel for severe wet conditions” starting on January 1, 2028.
For both types of apparel, the law will apply to new, not previously used clothing. With regard to outdoor apparel in 2028, PFAS cannot be among any intentionally added chemicals used in manufacturing and the level of incidental PFAS in the clothing must not exceed an amount yet to be established.
In powersports, PFAS chemicals can be found in or used to produce products such as riding gear, vehicle components resistant to heat, fuel, and chemicals, as well as semiconductors and chrome plating. Perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances are a class of synthetic chemicals used for decades in a wide range of consumer products. It is in everything from powersports gear and parts to dental floss and medications.
PROTECTING SAFETY GEAR FROM VERMONT PFAS BAN
Seeking an amendment to a Vermont state PFAS bill, Scott Schloegel from the MIC Government Relations Office recently testified before the Senate Health and Welfare Committee, aiming to protect powersports riding gear from a January 1, 2025, ban on PFAS chemicals used in the manufacture of textiles. The bill would also ban PFAS in feminine hygiene products and athletic fields.
Following Schloegel’s testimony, the committee indicated that powersports safety gear could be defined as “outdoor apparel for severe wet conditions,” which will be subject to a PFAS ban in 2028. However, the committee did not make a specific legislative reference or carve-out for motorcycle gear in the bill as requested – leaving interpretation of whether the ban would affect powersports riding gear in January 2025 or 2028 up in the air, if the bill gets signed into law.
“We hope to receive confirmation on this from the committee members since the definition of ‘outdoor apparel for severe wet conditions’ in the bill does not specifically reference our gear,” said Schloegel, senior vice president at the MIC GRO. “Delaying PFAS bans in states nationwide will allow powersports gear manufacturers more time to review their product lines and shift sourcing and production away from PFAS chemicals.”

Veterans, Newbies, Known Names, New Names Are Ready To Roll at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta
Plenty Of New Faces And Established Stars Set For MotoAmerica’s Opening Round In Georgia
While two MotoAmerica Championships got their start in early March at Daytona International Speedway, three more classes will join the premier Medallia Superbike class in getting their fresh beginning of a new season with those title chases kicking off at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, April 21-23.
Mission King Of The Baggers and REV’IT! Twins Cup got their seasons rolling in Florida as support classes for the non-points-paying Daytona 200 (which features Supersport-class motorcycles), but Stock 1000, Junior Cup and Supersport will open their championships at the iconic Road Atlanta this weekend.
Supersport – A New Champion Guaranteed
With Josh Herrin making a return to the Medallia Superbike Championship, the only thing we can count on is that the Supersport title will go to a new champion in 2023 in what promises to be a wide-open affair between young guns and seasoned veterans.
With four of the top five from last year’s championship not entered in the opening round of the series at Road Atlanta, others have come from other classes and/or have changed teams.
The ex-Herrin Warhorse HSBK Racing Ducati NYC Panigale V2 may be the most coveted ride in the class, and it falls this year to Spaniard Xavi Forés. Forés made his debut on the bike at Daytona, but a mechanical problem thwarted his progress before it really got going as it put him out of the 200 early. Thus, his season really begins at Road Atlanta. If he’s like any of the Europeans who have come before him, those first laps of Road America will open his eyes.
There is no more of a veteran in the class than four-time AMA Superbike Champion Josh Hayes. Though he’s not sure of how many races he and the Squid Hunter Racing team will partake in this season, Road Atlanta is a definite and Hayes will be attempting to put his name into the record books as his next MotoAmerica victory will be his 87th and it will make him the winningest rider in AMA road racing history across all classes.
On the other end of the spectrum is Vision Wheel M4 ECSTAR Suzuki’s Tyler Scott, the youngster finishing third in last years’ title chase while winning the first race of his promising career at Road America. Scott will be back on the same Suzuki GSX-R750 for the same team and will start the championship as one of the favorites. Scott will be joined on the team by another youngster, Teagg Hobbs.
Michael Gilbert Racing’s Michael Gilbert returns to the Supersport ranks after several seasons in the Stock 1000 class. Gilbert will be racing a Team Hammer built Suzuki GSX-R750.
While Hayes may be the most veteran of those in Supersport, Stefano Mesa would come close to matching him in miles raced. Journeyman racer Mesa is slated to ride a Tytlers Cycle Racing Kawasaki ZX-6R in the series.
Cory Ventura moves to the Disrupt Racing team for 2023 after a few quality outings as a fill-in rider last year on the Vision Wheel M4 ECSTAR Suzuki team. Ventura will likely benefit from being under the same awning as veteran Hayden Gillim, who will ride Disrupt Racing Suzukis in the Superbike and Stock 1000 classes.
Others looking to make an impact on the class include the two-rider North East Cycle Outlet Racing team of CJ LaRoche and Anthony Mazziotto, Team Brazil’s Danilo Lewis, Altus Motorsports’ Jaret Nassaney, and Gilbert’s teammate Alejandro Thermiotis.
Stock 1000 – Too Many To Choose From
Forty-one Stock 1000 riders will attempt to qualify for the two races in the series opener and, again, the 2022 class champion isn’t among them. While series champ Corey Alexander will focus his efforts on the Medallia Superbike Championship in 2023, last year’s runner-up Hayden Gillim will again do double duty on his pair of Disrupt Racing Suzukis and will compete in both Stock 1000 and Medallia Superbike. And Gillim, with five wins in 2022, will most definitely start the season as the favorite in Stock 1000.
Travis Wyman Racing’s Travis Wyman, who finished third in the 2022 championship, is also returning with his BMW M 1000 RR after a six-podium season a year ago. Not as fortunate is Brandon Paasch with the New Jerseyan out of action at least for the early part of the year after breaking a bone in his back in a motocross training accident. Paasch’s spot on the Altus Motorsports Suzuki has been taken over by Anthony Norton.
Orange Cat Racing will field two riders in the Stock 1000 class – Ezra Beaubier and Kaleb De Keyrel. Beaubier raced for the team last year and ended the year ranked ninth while De Keyrel is new to the class after finishing fourth in the REV’IT! Twins Cup Championship in 2022 a season after earning the title in the class.
Whether or not Road Atlanta marks the final race of a great career for Geoff May remains to be seen, but the veteran is entered to compete in the Stock 1000 class in his native Georgia. May is entered on the same Geoff May Racing Honda CBR1000RR-R SP that he rode to fifth in last year’s championship.
Junior Cup – Fresh Faces
There are lots of new faces set to do battle in the Junior Cup class with 24 riders entered for the opener at Road Atlanta.
New faces? Well, for starters, Max Van is the only rider entered for this weekend’s two Junior Cup races who finished in the top five in last year’s championship. Last year’s champion Cody Wyman? Gone to REV’IT! Twins Cup. Ditto for Gus Rodio, Kayla Yaakov and Joe LiMandri Jr.
Beyond Max Van, the next highest finishing rider in the class from 2022 who is returning is Bad Boys Racing’s Avery Dreher, who ended up seventh a year ago. Bicknese Racing’s Hayden Bicknese (eighth last year) also returns along with 3D Motorsports’ Chase Black (ninth in 2022) and Yandel Racing’s Yandel Medina (11th).
Headlining the list of new faces is Fairium NGRT – Gray Area Racing’s Rossi Moor, the dominant Mini Cup by Motul rider from the 2021 season. In addition to being new to the class, Moor will also be riding the only KTM RC 390 R in this year’s series. Remember, however, that Tyler Scott rode a KTM to the title in 2021.
The only other non-Kawasaki Ninja 400 in this year’s title chase is the Yamaha YZF-R3, which will be ridden by MP13 Racing’s Aiden Sneed.
REV’IT! Twins Cup – The Champ Is Back
REV’IT Twins Cup is one of the classes where last year’s champion will be back to try and defend his title. That rider is N2/BobbleHeadMoto’s Blake Davis, the young Virginian who came away with the title after his six-podium, three-victory effort a season ago on his Yamaha YZF-R7.
And REV’IT! Twins Cup is also one of two classes that started its championship at Daytona with a two-race opening round. The two races were won by Rodio Racing – Powered By Robem Engineering Aprilia’s Gus Rodio and by Stefano Mesa who was filling in for the injured Kayla Yaakov on the MP13 Racing Yamaha.
Davis, who finished with a pair of fourths at Daytona, is already under the gun as many of the riders he battled with a year ago are back for another crack at the title chase.
Optimum Performance Motorsports’ Jody Barry is likely one of the hungriest after a stellar early 2022 season had him atop the point standings for most of the season. However, a less-than-stellar late season pushed him down to second in the title chase and tied with Anthony Mazziotto, who has moved to the Supersport class for 2023. Barry started his season with sixth- and seventh-place finishes.
Of the riders moving up to REV’IT! Twins Cup, it was Rodio who started with a bang at Daytona, winning race one and finishing second in race two, he leads the championship by nine points over Jackson Blackmon.
Blackmon had a great weekend at Daytona, especially so, considering it was his first race back from a badly broken ankle that kept him out of most of the races a year ago. Blackmon rode his Track Day Winner/Blackmon Racing Yamaha YZF-R7 to second and third at Daytona.
Another nine points behind Rodio after leaving Daytona with third-and fifth-place finishes is Cycle Tech’s Hayden Schultz, who is just one point ahead of Davis.
Other riders expected to challenge in the REV’IT! Twins Cup class are non-defending Junior Cup Champion Cody Wyman, Altus Motorsports Joe LiMandri Jr., Rodio’s teammate Ben Gloddy and Team Iso’s Dominic Doyle with the latter two having Daytonas they’d rather forget. Doyle crashed twice, taking Gloddy with him the first time and leaving Gloddy injured and unable to take part in race two. Both are entered to compete at Road Atlanta.
Mission King Of The Baggers – Let The War Resume
The first of what will be a season-long war between Harley-Davidson and Indian Motorcycle riders in the Mission King Of The Baggers Championship got their start at Daytona International Speedway in early March and round one went to Harley-Davidson – though probably not to the Harley-Davidsons you expected.
The man at the top of the championship as the series pulls into Road Atlanta for round two is Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson’s James Rispoli, the New Yorker who now calls Florida home winning his first-career Baggers race in race one at Daytona and finishing second in race two. That adds up to a nice little haul of 45 points.
Second in the title chase after Daytona? Well, that would be Rispoli’s Vance & Hines teammate Hayden Gillim by virtue of his second-and third-place finishes. Third in the championship after Daytona? Still not a factory Harley-Davidson or Indian, but instead Team Saddlemen Harley-Davidson’s Cory West with his pair of fourths from Daytona.
Then came the big guns – 2021 Mission King Of The Baggers Champion Kyle Wyman and 2022 Champion Tyler O’Hara of the H-D Screamin’ Eagle and Indian Motorcycle/Progressive/Mission Foods Indian teams in fourth and fifth, respectively.
Kyle Wyman was a non-finisher in race one and then dominated race two; O’Hara was third in race one and a rather remarkable 11th in race two despite tire issues.
O’Hara’s teammate Jeremy McWilliams also struggled with a fifth in race one and similar tire woes pushing him back to an even more impressive eighth in race two.
The second of the Wyman brothers on the factory Harley team, Travis Wyman, is likely looking forward to Road Atlanta more than anyone in the class as mechanical issues forced him out of both Daytona races. He arrives in Georgia with zero points – 45 points behind Rispoli.
Road Atlanta Support Class Notes
Kyle Wyman won last year’s Mission King Of The Baggers race at Road Atlanta with the 2021 class champion besting James Rispoli and Tyler O’Hara.
Kyle Wyman’s fastest lap in the race was also the fastest lap of the weekend for a Bagger with his 1:31.789 making him the only rider to dip into the 1:31s. Wyman also had the fastest lap from Q1 with a 1:31.874.
The lone Stock 1000 race last year at Road Atlanta was won by Corey Alexander by just .001 of a second over Michael Gilbert. Travis Wyman finished third.
Josh Herrin got his Supersport season off to a perfect start a year ago at Road Atlanta with the Warhorse HSBK Racing Ducati NYC-backed Panigale V2 rider taking victories in both races. Herrin beat Sam Lochoff and Benjamin Smith in race one and topped Lochoff and Rocco Landers in race two.
Jody Barry beat Teagg Hobbs by just .073 of a second to win the REV’IT! Twins Cup race in Braselton in 2022 with Ben Gloddy finishing third.
In Junior Cup action, it was Cody Wyman besting Max Van and Joe LiMandri Jr. in race one with Max Van beating Aden Thao and Kayla Yaakov in race two.
Fourteen Mission King Of The Baggers races have been held, including the very first invitational race at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in 2020, and there have been six different winners in series history. Kyle Wyman, the 2021 class champion, leads the way with six wins, followed by defending class champion Tyler O’Hara’s four victories. Jeremy McWilliams, Travis Wyman, Bobby Fong and James Rispoli each have a victory.
While on the subject of parity, the REV’IT! Twins Cup series has plenty of it with 21 different winners in a class that started its sixth season at Daytona in March with two new winners – Gus Rodio and Stefano Mesa. The all-time leader in class victories is Kaleb De Keyrel with 10 wins. For 2023, De Keyrel moves to the Stock 1000 class on an Orange Cat Racing BMW M 1000 RR.

Assembly Bill 1252 uses your taxpayer dollars to create a so-called “Office of Gun Violence Prevention” to generate propaganda promoting the erosion of Second Amendment rights.
Assembly Bill 1406 allows state authorities to require firearm transfers to be delayed for up to 30 days if they are unable to complete the background check within the ten day waiting period in current law.
Assembly Bill 1483 expands California’s one-gun-per-month rationing scheme to also include private party transfers.
Assembly Bill 1598 requires licensed firearm dealers to provide a DoJ published pamphlet on “the benefits and risks of firearm ownership” to those receiving firearms, with nothing preventing the pamphlet from being little more than anti-gun propaganda pieces.
Assembly Judiciary Committee starting at 9:00AM
Assembly Bill 1089 expands California’s ban on private citizens and non-professional users making firearms with CNC milling machines or possessing CNC milling machines that have the “primary” or “intended” function of manufacturing firearms to also include 3D printers.
Senate Public Safety Committee starting at 8:30AM
Senate Bill 452 prohibits firearm dealers from selling or transferring any semi-automatic handgun after January 1st, 2027, unless the state certifies that it has microstamping. In addition, it also prohibits replacing a microstamping component on such a handgun unless it is replaced with another “valid” microstamping component.
Senate Bill 417 changes the state-mandated signs that licensed firearm dealers must post at their premises, to include anti-gun propaganda.

H.R. 1435– the “Preserving Choice in Vehicle Purchases Act
Across the country a battle is underway between those that want to end the availability of combustion engines, and those fighting to protect their survival. While states like California and Massachusetts are setting timelines for purchase bans on internal combustion engines, other states like New Hampshire and Wisconsin are pushing back.
The Biden Administration recently rolled out plans shifting this country to a majority electric vehicle market over the next ten years. Republicans in Congress have responded. In March, Rep. John Joyce of Pennsylvania introduced H.R. 1435 the “Preserving Choice in Vehicle Purchases Act.” H.R. 1435 would amend the Clean Air Act to prevent a ban on the sale of internal combustion engines, effectively trumping any state law that outlaws their sale.

LIVEWIRE CONFIRMS U.S. S2 DEL MAR PRICING AND EUROPEAN LAUNCH EDITION DETAILS—
S2 Del Mar is priced at $15,499 USD for the U.S. and Europe receives a Launch Edition of 100 limited edition bikes on sale April 27.
LiveWire, the leading electric motorcycle manufacturer, is excited to confirm its MSRP for S2 Del Mar in the U.S along with projected delivery dates. The Company is also pleased to announce an exclusive colorway for the S2 Del Mar Launch Edition in Europe limited to 100 bikes across the four markets.
US: In the U.S., LiveWire has been hard at work finalizing production, pricing, and projected delivery schedules. The S2 Del Mar is confirmed to launch with an MSRP of $15,499. Reservations are open for the production version in 3 colorways, targeting delivery this July. Performance highlights and complete product specifications will be published in June, along with a full calendar of demo opportunities and events.
Europe: For European LiveWire consumers, reservations for the S2 Del Mar Launch Edition will open at 4 p.m. CET on April 27, and will require a €100 fee. Only 100 examples of the S2 Del Mar European Launch Edition models will be made, featuring an exclusive finish and wheel design. The graphics and paint—in a unique Himalaya White finish—are applied by hand using a process that takes five days to complete. The Launch Edition of S2 Del Mar is planned for delivery in Europe this September.

CO2 COALITION– Fighting for Your Rights
The Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to revise their standards for natural gas stoves. The practical effect of the new standards is banning gas stoves by regulation and switching people from gas to electric stoves.
?The DOE itself admits that electricity costs 3.5 times the cost of natural gas per energy unit – $42 versus $12 for natural gas per million BTU, so the new rules will necessarily increase cooking costs greatly.

Great article about the 1914, love to read about the attention to detail. I’m in the process to refurbish a 1975 XLH that I acquired as a basket case. I’d like to put it back together as close to factory stock as possible.
Trying to find parts is tough and even worse is finding an old school mechanic with the proper tools and knowledge to assemble the motor. (A 1914, amazing.)

Sometimes we make mistakes, yup… we do! When we find them, sometimes with the help of YOU, we fix it right away!
Our speedometer extension part number, NSXH-CB36A harness was found to be incorrect for Road King models as we didn’t have enough wires in the harness to cover all of the functions. We did some more research, found our mistake and made a rolling correction.
This means, we didn’t have to change the part number or description, keeping those the same. This happens when you try to make a “one-size-fits-all” product but we do apologize for the error!

This sometimes happens as the OEM service manuals, believe it or not are not always correct, or the data we research, no matter where we find it isn’t always correct and for that, we apologize. Luckily, we have a customer on the “Left Coast” of California that pointed this out and asked us to make it right!
We fixed the description and are in the final stages of creating it’s predecessor, part number NHD-70233-04A.

My bike broke a rod last summer. I just got her back, I was 5 hours from home when it happened.
I limped into the HD dealership in Bozeman Montana. The dealership went out of their way to help me out. I ended up having them replace the motor. Expensive as hell, but it’s all good now. Big thumbs up for the Bozeman dealership.

JUST THE BEGINNING—
My bookkeeper said she thought I might get bored in South Dakota. Bored of what? I seem to be busier than ever and it’s all good. Progress.
Okay, I kid Irish Rich about getting close to final welding. He’s already at the powder-coater. I’m way behind… Worked on a battery tray and kickstand. My report should be launched any day.
I’m going to follow it with a tech about dealing with rust from vinegar or acid, it can be handled.
Last week my family in Austin attended the Hand Built show. These are my granddaughters, Max and Olivia.
Machining little brass fittings is a challenge. One down and two to go.
The ’58 Chevy will be ready on Saturday, and across the street we will pick up a cherry pie from the bake sale to be delivered to a neighbor in Boulder Canyon. He’s a great guy and his wife Dawn is the boss of the Deadwood Chamber. He’s got the big C and needs a cherry pie bad.
I’m confused. I bought some fasteners from Sean at Competition Distributing. They say they’re based in Pennslyvania, or is that Sturgis. I’ll figure it out tomorrow. We’re going to check out a VL roller project for John in Deadwood, a 45 flathead fan.
Nasty gutter cleaning in Deadwood. Hang on.
Tomorrow, we hope to finalize my VL, XA, FL Knuck 4-speed case, 5-speed transmission with Irish Rich at his Shamrocks studios in Sturgis. I swear, I’ll wrap up the story.
