When you shoot the bull about attending a motorcycle show, images of cool bikes, hot babes and rows of vendors come to mind. This show had all that, but the key word was CCI dealer. The Custom Chrome facility located in beautiful Morgan Hill, California hosted its annual dealer show, October 8th thru the 10th, and I can say for all who attended, we were treated to visual and culinary delights.
The show's main focus was to invite all the Custom Chrome/Motorcycle Stuff dealers’ worldwide, to meet the product creators and put faces, to the voices, of those who assist them weekly, the Custom Chrome work force.
A new twist marked this year, the public was invited to attend the AMD Bike Builder World Championship and the vendor area, both first time occurrences. From the average citizen on the street to bike shop owners, riders, and Master Builders, we were treated to a masterful array of mechanical creations.
It took all day to go through the entries and not because of quantity but quality. Motocross stunt riders shocked spectators in the afternoon sun.
Crime Inc. girls knocked dealer out and new products kept the buyers makin' notes. The evening glistened with a welcome reception in the Global Pavillion and entertainment by Smashmouth blasted the night.Jesse Rooke highlighted the evening with his own stage riding stunt.
Saturday the event opened at 9:00am for Dealers only. They were able to view new products, talk to the manufactures and consult with their Custom Chrome reps. From noon-6pm the public was invited to review the world wide competition and visit the vendors. Stuntman Bubba Blackwell burned the asphalt and knocked out viewers with his championship, record breaking bike antics. He's unbelievable.
Twice a day models roamed the tents to show off the 2005 Custom Chrome apparel line. That night, AMD ProShow winners were announced (see below), and the party continued.Morning, noon and night the Custom Chrome chow was incredible, spectators and vendors were never far from a drink and the Hagan Daz ice-cream man or slinky babe was never far away.
Sunday the show wound down as builders made final connections, wrapped up their orders, watched as the winning motorcycles were photographed with hot models, and brothers said their goodbyes. Ah, but the final party with prizes, gambling and more terrific chow awaited the nightfall.
All in all Custom Chrome displayed top-notch hospitality.I would like to add several comments regarding the 70-bike show competition, but I would ramble for a day or two. The level of customs were incredible, the styles, the workmanship, the technical innovation and the tributes to the old school and historic elements were incredible. Many of these machines will pop up in magazines all over the world. I hope you get a chance, to view or see them in shows at other events. You'll be knocked out.
