This just in from the Week Magazine: Uber and Anheuser-Busch InBev recently made the world’s first-ever commercial delivery via self-driving truck. Uber’s autonomous 18-wheel semi, loaded with 45,000 cans of Budweiser, drove itself 120 miles on Colorado’s Interstate 25, from Fort Collins to Colorado Springs, with a human onboard in the sleeper cab just in case. Anheuser-Busch estimates it could save $50 million a year in the U.S. using autonomous trucks. –Bloomberg.com.

ELECTION RESULTS– Celebs Who Said They’d Leave.

The threat is a common one after any election outcome: Canada’s immigration website crashed from heavy traffic as it looked increasingly likely that Trump would win.

But after the real estate mogul clinched the presidency in a stunning victory early Wednesday morning, some of those stars will face questions about making good on their promise.

Here is a list of some of the celebs who claimed they would move out of the U.S. under a Trump administration.

Samuel L. Jackson slammed Trump for running a “hate”-filled campaign and said he would move to South Africa if he wins. “If that motherf—er becomes president, I’m moving my black ass to South Africa,” the movie star quipped to Jimmy Kimmel.

Lena Dunham told Andy Cohen at the Matrix Awards that “I know a lot of people have been threatening to do this, but I really will. I know a lovely place in Vancouver.” The star and creator of HBO’s “Girls” has been a vocal advocate for Hillary Clinton, the Democratic nominee.

Neve Campbell, an actress on the political drama “House of Cards,” vowed to move back home to Canada, while “Orange is the New Black” actress Natasha Lyonne said she would hightail it to a mental hospital.

Cher tweeted this summer that if Trump gets elected, “I’m moving to Jupiter.”

Miley Cyrus wrote in an emotional Instagram post in March that tears were running down her cheek and she was unbelievably scared and sad. “I am moving if he is president,” the young pop star said. “I don’t say things I don’t mean!”

Barbara Streisand, a vocal Clinton supporter, told “60 Minutes” that “I’m either coming to your country if you’ll let me in, or Canada.”

Ne-Yo told TMZ last month that he’d move to Canada and be neighbors with fellow R&B singer Drake if the country elected Trump.

Comedians

Comedian Amy Schumer said in September that Spain would be her destination of choice.
“My act will change because I will need to learn to speak Spanish,” Schumer said in an appearance on the BBC’s “Newsnight.” “Because I will move to Spain or somewhere. It’s beyond my comprehension if Trump won. It’s just too crazy.”

Chelsea Handler said she already made contingency plans months ago.
“I did buy a house in another country just in case,” the comedian and talk show host said during an appearance on “Live with Kelly and Michael” in May. “So all these people that threaten to leave the country and then don’t — I actually will leave that country.”
Former “Daily Show” host Jon Stewart said he would consider “getting in a rocket and going to another planet, because clearly this planet’s gone bonkers” if the real estate mogul wins.

Whoopi Goldberg, co-host of the “The View”, said on an episode of the talk show earlier this year that if the country elects Trump, “maybe it’s time for me to move, you know. I can afford to go.”

Keegan-Michael Key said he would flee north to Canada. “It’s like, 10 minutes from Detroit,” the comedian told TMZ in January. “That’s where I’m from; my mom lives there. It’d make her happy too.”

Hispanic comedian George Lopez said Trump “won’t have to worry about immigration” if he takes the White House because “we’ll all go back.”

Political Figures

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg joked in an interview with The New York Times in July that it’d be time to move to New Zealand if Trump were to win.

“Now it’s time for us to move to New Zealand,” she said quoting her husband who died in 2010. “I can’t imagine what the country would be with Donald Trump as our president. For the country, it could be four years. For the court, it could be — I don’t even want to contemplate that.”
Ginsburg later apologized for her comments, calling them “ill-advised.”

Civil rights activist Al Sharpton told a reporter earlier this year that he’s “reserving my ticket out of here if [Trump] wins.”

Team Clinton sponsored 75 percent of TV ads in 2016 presidential race
Clinton and her allies aired 383,000 ads between June 12th and Nov. 6th. Trump and his supporters aired 125,000 in that time period.

BIKER’S CHOICE AND TWIN POWER HIT THE OHIO MILE– What do you get when a group of motorcycle enthusiasts set out to the Ohio Mile? A good time and new set of land speed records!

On September 28, 2016, James Simonelli, Steve Mayes and Rich Halverson headed to Wilmington, Ohio, to participate in the October Land Speed Record (LSR) event. Even though the weather wasn’t exactly cooperating – it does get a bit rainy in Ohio this time of year – the guys were able to make some successful runs and bring home some new records.

“We went out there with plans to go fast and have a good time,” says Simonelli, Brand Manager for Twin Power. “The event itself was spectacular and run very well. The ECTA (East Coast Timing Association) really does a great job. The diversity of vehicles running was just awesome. Everything from 50cc bikes to full-blown, fuel-burning lakesters and roadsters and daily drivers as well.”

Simonelli ran his bike using a street trim with lower handlebars and swingarm-mounted rear set controls. He already held the APG 3000/4 (Altered Pushrod Gas 3000 cc 4-Stroke) record at 165.74 MPH and knowing he wouldn’t go any faster, opted to try for the APF 3000/4 (Altered Pushrod Fuel 3000 cc 4-Stroke) record. He captured it with a speed of 165.25 MPH while fighting a 7-10 MPH headwind. The existing record was 148 MPH.

Steve “Brewdude” Garn, who is well-known for his motorcycle building skills and is sponsored by Twin Power, met up with the crew from Tucker Rocky | Biker’s Choice and set his own record on his RD350 while Steve Mayes grabbed a record run on Brewdude’s beautiful Honda S65.

Halverson and Mayes made some 194 MPH runs on Halverson’s Kawasaki ZX14. The ZX14 was all motor and no power adders. They were looking for that elusive 200 MPH and you can bet that they’ll be back to try again.

“I want to thank Aaron Whitney and Baus Barker for helping me get my bike prepped for the event,” says Simonelli. “Nobody was hurt and nothing blew up. We had a great time and it was truly a team effort.”

Should be inside the lower f/glass body tomorrow- will send some pics.

I am still thinking how to do front suspension- now that we have lower frame rails I can
bring Darrel back in for review meeting. will let you know what we come up with.

We need to be sure before we cut holes in the nose for the axle & steering..

We all enjoy taking a ride through unchartered countryside on a motorcycle road trip, but nobody goes for a ride quite like Swiss Endurance rider Urs “Grisu Grizzly” Pedraita. Grisu Grizzly is the first person who successfully crossed all countries along their longest axis – no other vehicle has ever reached this achievement – in an unbreakable time, only 72 days and 13 hours.

Joined by hundreds of Victory owners, Grizzly set off on his adventure from Daytona International Speedway on March 11, 2016 after a lap around the Daytona 200 road course.

From Daytona Beach, he traveled 3,971 miles in only 6 days and 14 hours to the first checkpoint in Panama City, Panama. The next 9 days and 23 hours were spent riding his Victory to the tip of South America, Ushuaia, Argentina, then returning to Santiago, Chile, where he loaded his bike onto a plane and flew to Sydney, Australia. After riding 4,604 miles across Australia in six days and five hours, Grizzly and the “Daytona One” flew from Perth, Australia to Cape Town, South Africa.

WHAT IF?— I was stuck in a dental office waiting room, while the Redhead of Redheads had her lovely teeth cleaned. I picked up the December MotorTrend and started to thumb through it. I started to read Mark Rechtin’s “We say…” column.

It started with, “Volkswagen deserves to be punished for its vile deception of the public trust and environmental regulators by deliberately manipulating its vehicles’ diesel emissions.”

But what if the very premise behind the regulations was a deception? Even the levels and the fines against VW are manipulated to appear high and terrible.

Here’s another quote from the article, “It has to be understood that even though VW exceeded limits by up to 40 times, it still is low levels of emissions,” Arvind Thiruvengadam, assistant professor of West Virginia University’s Center for Alternative Fuels, Engines & Emissions, said. “Because the standard itself is so low, even 40 times the limit is not a huge number. The actual magnitude is very low.”

He thinks Dieselgate has been blown out of proportion. In fact, he believes those same diesel VWs would likely have been in compliance with the previous generation emissions standards. Achieving Tier 2 bin 5 “was almost impossible and economically unviable.”

This story gets even more twisted. You might want to check it out on the MotorTrend web site. And what if the whole transportation sector is not the real problem, but just a way for control freaks to control everything with an exhaust pipe?

DICEY SUNDAY POST for November 6, 2016

The Sunday Post looked good. I did like all of it but UNCLE MONKEY ON GREED – was right on as well as ANOTHER THOUGHTFUL ADDITION TO THE CODE OF THE WEST?

I have a list too and it is on one of those little legal pads – well actually a few pads – and I get things done and scratch through But there is always more added.

I feel very fortunate to have accomplished almost everything I’ve dreamed of and more. Maybe it’s my fucking list. I have a constantly changing list in my pocked daily. I love to scratch shit off the list, but it keeps me going.

The list contains articles I need to write, parts I need to find, shit around the Headquarters needing fixing. You name it, from little shit to big goals are on that list until I can scratch them off, tear up the list and start over.

TAKE A BREAK— Unlike most elections this fight continued. We need to take a break. And as so many folks have said. It’s time to come together as Americans and get shit done. To me, it’s all about balance with respect for freedom at the forefront.

Hell, I even have staffers who are upset with the outcome. We knew it would fall one way or the other. I think so much of the emotion comes from the length of the battle, all the media coverage, and the acrimonious tactics.

I’m just glad it’s over. We may have a complete rundown on Election results and new staff appointments from the Motorcycle Riders Foundation in the next couple of days. That should help answer questions and set the record straight.

In the meantime, we have several articles headed your way and maybe even an EPA strategy to save the power sports industry from more regulation. We will never stop fighting for bikers’ rights and freedom. We can’t.
