Branscomb Richmond, star of Renegade and Scorpion King, supported the Indian motorcycle effort until the very end, but he didn’t lose the spirit. Recently, with a hot team of bike enthusiasts including, Robert J. Page, and Murray Smith, former CEO of Indian Motorcycles, they kicked off a new line of custom motorcycles called American Motorcycle 1902.
American Motorcycle is one of the oldest vintage motorcycle brands in the USA. It was first established in 1902—one year after Indian and one year before Harley-Davidson. The motorcycle manufactured by the original company and proudly bearing the American marquee was considered to be the best hill climber of its time. “Power and beauty” were two words often used to describe these classic motorbikes. The original American Motor Cycle Co. ceased production of its motorcycles in 1922.
The vision for the new American Motorcycle trademark is to re-introduce a very limited number of special edition custom v-twin heavyweight motorcycles and to develop a lifestyle brand with related products that appeals to both motorcycle enthusiasts and mainstream consumers alike.
The American Motorcycle was re-introduced to the US market at the Black Hills Rally in Sturgis, SD in August, 2005 when the limited Edition (50 units to be sold worldwide) the “Renegade SE” was introduced to the US market, the “Ol School Bobber” was shown, and a truly unique and fully customized 300 front and 300 rear tired American Motorcycle called “Headhunter” was shown that was built for inclusion in an upcoming movie “The Ironhorsemen” (to be released in 2006/07) featuring Branscombe Richmond, a principal of American Motorcycle 1902.
Today, American Motorcycle Co. 1902 displays six models in its OEM lineup. Minor changes can be made in paint, sheetmetal and performance to enhance the overall experience of owning this awesome motorcycle.
Their website features all of their OEM motorcycles as well as the building of these unique custom “Ironhorsemen” bikes along with photo’s and film of production. Bikernet will feature more of their bikes and the movie bikes as they come available. Below is a rundown of their Bobber model.
American Motorcycle 1902 website will evolve and eventually host a fully developed program of products from apparel and accessories to custom billet parts and bolt-ons, to a very limited edition of motorcycles endorsed by Branscombe, die-cast models, celebrity products and tie-ins with their Motorcycle and Music Mafia program, and related products.
You will also find frequent updates related to Branscombe Richmond and the Renegade Posse including where the band is traveling and performing to the latest information related to TV shows and Movies that Branscombe is performing in.
