MILLION MILE RIDE DRAWING TO A CLOSE– They made it to Tony “Pan”s house.
The guys persevered and made it to Paducah, KY last night. When they hit Nashville they found a mess with flooding on the Interstate so severe that they left the highway and used Dan’s GPS to find their way back. Not long after getting around that mess they again left the highway to go around a semi that was blown over from the high winds.
They were exhausted when they reached the hotel. Dave stopped his bike in the dark hotel parking lot and put his foot down in a large pothole. The bike went down and he lost a chunk from his fairing and a part that they were still trying to find a place for with their flashlights when Tony last called me.
This morning was windy and colder but they hit it hard to get to Rockford in time for the press stop. They will arrive in Milwaukee this evening where Channel 4 will be at our house waiting to catch the group riding into our driveway. This evening they will get their first decent meal since they left . Sue Zien will be waiting for Dave at our house.
Tomorrow Dave has to run out and get his odometer to just the right spot, starting large then making circles that get his to the staging area 2.1 miles from Hal’s. Hundreds of people will be waiting as he is escorted by New Berlin Police and the Patriot Guard Flag bikes to Hal’s where hundreds of people and the press will be waiting to cheer him on and document this historic event.
God Bless Dave, the USA, and Freedom loving individuals everywhere!

HIGH FLOW AIR CHARGER FROM K&N– MARCH 2009, K&N Engineering, Inc. Releases a ?New? High-Flow Aircharger Intake Assembly available in Textured Black (63-1122) and Bright Mirror (63-1122P), designed for the 2008 and 2009 Harley-Davidson? Fuel-Injected Touring Models.
K&N?s Aircharger High-Flow Intake Assembly will get more horsepower out of your Harley-Davidson Touring Model. The 63-1122 AirCharger Assembly gained an amazing 12.92 HP at the rear wheel on a stock 2009 HD 96ci Street Glide.
It increases power by eliminating the restrictive stock OE air cleaner and replacing it with a custom mandrill bent aluminum intake tube and an original K&N High-Flow Air Filter. It mounts directly to the throttle body via a billet aluminum mount.

The AirCharger gives touring models an aggressive appearance while providing a significant increase in airflow. The complete intake assembly is powder-coated black, in order to withstand the corrosion from the elements.
An oversized air filter is used, lowering restriction while providing high dirt capacity. The K&N High-Flow Air Filter is washable, reusable, pre- oiled and ready for installation.
A K&N DryCharger is supplied for longer service intervals and increased protection in wet conditions. Each kit is sold complete, with mounting hardware included.

WHY HE CARRIES A GUN– I don’t carry a gun to kill people. I carry a gun to keep from being killed. I don’t carry a gun to scare people. I carry a gun because sometimes this world can be a scary place. I don’t carry a gun because I’m paranoid. I carry a gun because there are real threats in the world I don’t carry a gun because I’m evil. I carry a gun because I have lived long enough to see the evil in the world.

If not a tool can be made from a piece of metal with a thickness 5/16,

REPORT COMING ON MOTORCYCLE WORK GROUP BEING ESTABLISHED UNDER SEMA UMBRELLA– Great news about the Motorcycle Workgroup , it would be nice to have a few booths with some MC items at the SEMA event in Las Vegas.
–Don
We recently had a long conversation with Chris Kersting, the CEO of SEMA, regarding and motorcycle council within SEMA. We will take the process a step at a time, but first we need to develop a Work Group. Feel free to contact me, if you want to receive more info, or become a Work Group member. Remember, we’re doing this to support motorcycle rights groups all over the world and to keep our sport free.–Bandit@bikernet.com

Bikers’ weekend bash Riders from across the U.S. come to Raleigh for Queens Together rally– RALEIGH – Just past noon Friday, roughly 3,000 bikers started rumbling into downtown Raleigh with ominous nicknames stitched on their leather vests. Grimey. G-Nasty. Darkness from Ohio.
They filled the downtown Marriott and spilled over into at least four other hotels, jamming the streets for a two-day party that features Sumo wrestling, a swimsuit competition, motorcycle stunts and a VIP room with nearly-naked models covered with banana leaves, flowers and sushi.
“We’ve got the real-deal Sumos,” said Shemone “Chyna Doll” Daughtry, whose Raleigh-based Queens Together Motorcycle Club is hosting the nationwide bash. “He couldn’t travel in a regular aircraft. He’s about 600 pounds.”
The QT’s sixth anniversary party, which also celebrates the Chinese new year, marks a pair of coups for the Raleigh Convention Center.
For one, the weekend of two-wheeled frivolity should pump nearly $1 million into Raleigh’s economy. Many riders checking into the Marriott, most of them black, say they feel a cold shoulder coming from Myrtle Beach, long the host of the colossal Black Bike Week event that draws more than 300,000 people.
Julie Brakenbury, director of convention services for the Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau, is happy to welcome the riders.
“They’re just such a fun group,” she said. “I can’t speak for Myrtle Beach, but it’s great for us.”
The bikers’ arrival also lends new evidence to the idea of downtown Raleigh as a magnet for fun. The QTs described the city as “on the edge of everything new and hip,” and they decorated the event’s Web site with a Chinese dragon taking a bite out of the Marriott.
“We know it’s really the year of the rat,” Daughtry said. “But a rat really didn’t fit in with what we’re doing.”
Riders, both women and men, came from San Francisco, Cleveland, Boston and Rochester, N.Y. All Friday afternoon, they lounged in the brand-new Marriott lounge, sipping drinks and wearing elaborate vests. Darkside Ryders. Mystic Knights. Black Scorpions. On the bike circuit, there’s always a shindig somewhere.
“The QTs, man, they throw a good party every year,” said Ohio resident Ren McKinzie, 33, who sported a 6-inch Mohawk and the nickname Darkness. “The fashion show. … I’m really looking forward to the bikinis.”
“Excited. Excited. I’m psyched,” said Charlotte Boone, a QT from Fayetteville who ships out with the Army next week for a second stint in Afghanistan. “This is a last party for me.”
The scene had the trappings of a traditional biker gathering: skulls, flames and leather.
But this weekend’s event features dozens of women’s clubs, and pink jackets and hoop earrings were sprinkled into the crowd.
“My bike’s name is Trouble,” said Boone, who goes by the nickname Solo. “She’s trouble because she’s the smallest bike.”

BIKERNET MEDICAL CENTER RESULTS FROM DR. WEIL, 4 Steps to an Anti-Inflammatory Pantry– March is Nutrition Month – each Monday’s Daily Tip will focus on the Dr. Weil-recommended diet, courtesy of your online anti-inflammatory diet source, Dr. Weil on Healthy Aging.
Last Monday’s Daily Tip gave you four ways to get started eating the anti-inflammatory way; today we cover how to make your pantry healthier. Most pantries hold a confusing mix of healthful and unhealthy food items, but cleaning out the questionable ones and replacing those with better choices isn’t really all that difficult. Start with the following guidelines, and then join Dr. Weil on Healthy Aging for more tips:
Toss out any cereals and breads that are refined, presweetened or made with white flour, and replace them with organic, high-fiber cereals, steel-cut oats or organic, natural instant varieties of hot cereals, and whole-grain breads.
Replace instant soups (which can be very high in sodium), rice or noodle mixes (often high in sodium and undesirable fats) with whole grains such as brown rice, barley or bulgur wheat, dried beans, peas and lentils. Keep some low-sodium vegetable stock on hand for flavor.
Ditch the instant drink mixes such as flavored waters, instant coffee and sugary hot chocolate mixes, and replace with high quality green, white or oolong tea and sparkling water.
Add some spices – an important part of the anti-inflammatory diet. Herbs are best when used fresh, but dried herbs, such as basil, sage, thyme, and rosemary, can keep their healthful characteristics and distinctive flavors very well when stored in sealed containers.
