“When I have time…….I’m Gonna….”
Two of the coolest, most down home, what you see is what what ya get folks- I know, are Jeff and Salina Hill, residing in the world renowned Ney, Ohio. I kid ‘em constantly cuz they never seemed to be pissed off or outside the box on a tirade about the feds or local horse manure gossip and politics over those 40 years of moving about America on two wheels, I find myself drawn to these kind of biker folks as partners in life surrounding two wheels as they share righteous vibes with ya at all times. Jeff has never done anything but work on, fix motorcycle iron and build motorcycles. Damn hard work and dues paying has earned him a good living quietly and somewhat behind the scenes. I’ve never come across biker folk who don’t like Jeff, or respect his gift at presenting a positive attitude toward everyone. His quiet passion for motorcycling along with first class talent places Jeff Hill’s Performance Cycle into a pretty impressive life long position as a vibrant ambassadorship in the motorcycle industry.
All of Paisano Magazines have introduced much of Jeff’s iron to the world the past 10 years. In fact, we never know what twisted design will come at us next from Jeff. However, when the ‘51 Pan showed her rebirth in Columbus at the John Green Easyriders Show, Dean, Dave and I all did some male drooling. (It’s not a pretty sight)
Over the Columbus Bike Show weekend, Jeff had several legitimate offers from Panhead lovers to buy her on the spot and take her home. Home for the Pan has been with Jeff for more than 30 years. Salina tells us there is nothing he owns that has been with him longer than the Pan, well! As she thought about that statement, maybe a couple of t-shirts and for sure at least two pair of skivvies. The Pan sat and sat and sat not very proud after Jeff abused her in those early years. “I’m gonna get around to her” he would say for years.
Last winter, he got around to her. Took her to the car wash first and pounded 10 bucks worth of quarters into the coin washing machine to erase 30 years of grime. Then, of course, came the proverbial complete strip, every piece including the motor and tranny were disassembled into individual parts for the hand massage back into the good life.
Bringing back a machine you have owned since a kid not only provides time to reminisce a bit, but also creates challenges related to, should I keep her stock? Or, introduce her majesty to some new 21st century technology? With 19 mindset changes Jeff split her down the middle. Certainly the ‘51 is a classic and an outstanding machine, she can stand alone as Harley’s best in many minds. Well, maybe the 49 Pan was the best…that’s just me.

It’s those old/new habits that Hill kept fighting throughout the rebuild. He launched an exploring episode into his 30 year junk piles and came up with of all things, a bunch of junk. This forced him to begin to make parts which include the one off tail dragger fender, the fender brackets, and chain guard to match the fender brackets. All this done yet no change to the integrity of the original ‘51 frame. I really appreciate the great lines of the exhaust…she is perfect in my opinion.
Daily, someone walks into the Hill’s showroom and offices to buy her…only to hear from Jeff “this is my daily ride, she’s gonna stay right here”.
Enter on site Jessie Tattoo, with a 19 year young hard belly body; Squatter hooked her up for this shoot on the ‘51. With Deb & Salina helping Jessie in the make-up, hair, and clothes changing department, even the often very shy Jeff Hill was smiling most of the day around.
Jessie. A young one, mature beyond her years we very much hope you all enjoy looking at her as much as we did unlike Jeff there is not an ounce of shyness with Jessie. She is one hot young lady who makes a living as a piercer at a tattoo shop. Got me thinking about a “Prince Albert” for the first time. Deb and I actually got Clean Dean a gift certificate for his!
