BIG, BAD, THURSDAY NEWS

Wow,

I don’t know what to make of life or our economy. The Cinci show was definitely up from last year. Reports are in about Harley-Davidson sales. They’ve also improved over last year, but they are 1/3 of what they were five years ago. Pepsi Cola plans to lay off 8,000 plus employees, American Airlines filed BK and is laying off 13,000. The Post office is finally facing their woes, closing offices and laying off maybe 100,000 employees because profits continue to decline and their contracted retirement plan can’t hold up. Then, most recently the military, the largest employer in the country, is cutting back.

So what’s it mean? We are Americans, who know how to work hard and pull together for the common good. If the government doesn’t restrict us from doing almost anything, we will find a way back to the top. Let’s hit the news:

NEW TECH ON BIKERNET–Saddleman Heated Seat For Harley FLHTC.

Saddleman seats have been the choice for me since back when I was riding rigid frame motorcycles. They were one of the rare, primarily, comfortable components that allowed me to ride and enjoy a lot of miles in a single day.

When I got a new Harley FLHT in 2004 the factory seat was okay but nothing to write home about, and that turned out to be the same with the 2009 FLHTC.

When the opportunity came up for me to do this article on a Saddleman seat, I jumped at it.

“The seat is called the Road Sofa, it’s a re-designed version of the seat that put Saddlemen on the map,” said Ron. “It is our top-of-the-line touring model with large bucketed sitting areas, lumbar backrest and heat in both driver and passenger seats.”
Don’t miss this simple tech from Rogue.

BIKERNET AND CYCLE SOURCE SHARE 965 LAZELLE IN STURGIS, ACROSS FROM EASYRIDERS–I had an interesting opportunity land in my lap, so I developed a team, and hope to share it with my friends. I don’t know how you feel about your space in Sturgis, but we now have a 75 by 110 spaces directly across the street from the Easyriders club and Broken Spoke, 965 Lazelle. Chris Callen and I will handle the entertainment, no heavy rock bands, and Jeff Najar will handle marketing and booth spaces. He is also working to set up a service to provide help with taxes and license renewals.

The space prices will be very reasonable, and the Bikernet/Cycle Source Garage lot will be open from 9:00 or 10:00 in the morning until 2:00 a.m. Keep us in mind, if you are looking for a new Sturgis opportunity.

HANG ON FOR SERIOUS PERORATIONS THIS YEAR–peroration per-uh-REY-shuhn, noun:

1. A long speech characterized by lofty and often pompous language.
2. Rhetoric. The concluding part of a speech or discourse, in which the speaker or writer recapitulates the principal points and urges them with greater earnestness and force.

Thus he apostrophised his house and race in terms of the most moving eloquence; but when it came to the peroration—and what is eloquence that lacks a peroration?—he fumbled. He would have liked to have ended with a flourish to the effect that he would follow in their footsteps and add another stone to their building.
— Virginia Woolf, Orlando: A Biography

This person always provides a dramatic peroration; it is expected of him and he seldom disappoints. Tamsour is the theme; and the substance is usually personal aggrandizement, sometimes a bit of self-pity, but never apologies for past misdeeds, real or imaginary.
— Jack Vance, Night Lamp

Peroration comes from the Latin word peroration which meant “a closing speech.”

THE ULTIMATE BUILDER WINNERS FROM MINNEAPOLIS–  This was a unique show as we had 3 Prototype Victory motorcycles in our Showcase.

Victory Motorcycles features prototype and custom motorcycles at the Minneapolis IMS show

Victory CORE, the Victory Vision 800 concept, and the Polaris Revolver at the Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show in Minneapolis, MN.

Factory Prototypes and Polaris employee customs to be shown together for the first time – Prototype vehicles displayed together for the first time outside of the secured doors of the Polaris Industrial Design compound include the Victory CORE, the Victory Vision 800 concept, and the Polaris Revolver sport ATV concept. These machines were created to push the boundaries of modern American style and are rarely seen outside of the company perimeter let alone in a public collection together.

Custom built Victory Motorcycles will also be on display. In 2005 the Victory Engineering Department saved a Freedom Motor and Victory Chassis from the crusher to stretch their own skills. The evil result was the “Axe” a motorcycle that was designed to take no prisoners. The head of the Polaris Industrial Design group, Greg Brew, will have his early frame V92 bobber on display. Known as “Fuelie”, it features injector stacks punching through the fuel tank and a healthy dose of raw gearhead attitude. Engineering manager Jeff Wolf took the modern Freedom-V-Twin and shoved it into an old school chopper chassis. Featuring more attitude than a prison yard, Jeff’s Chopper will stake its claim alongside of Axe and Fuelie in the Ultimate Bike Build-off near the Victory Display.

Inside the Victory Motorcycles display more pro custom machines will be featured including the Café Racer styled Judge recently revealed by Zach Ness, and two custom Victory Motorcycles from the Klock Works Kustom shop including the “Klock Roads” bagger and the “Tattooed for Life” charity motorcycle that could end up in your garage!

The Victory Motorcycles display features the new Victory Touring Nation presented by RoadRUNNER magazine. Editors from RoadRUNNER will be on hand offering touring tips and handing out free copies of magazines featuring Minnesota area tours and their review of the new Cross Country Tour as well as a chance to win a free Garmin Zumo GPS directly from Victory.

With company HQ only a few miles away there is sure to be loads of Polaris employees, engineers and fans on hand to enjoy the weekend at the Minneapolis Convention Center. For more show information and online ticket sales log on to www.motorcycleshows.com .

BIKERNET TRIKES BEGINS TO CATCH THE BUZZ–In 2013 we plan to roll onto the Salt Flats with something completely bizarre. “Frank, of Frankenstein Trikes, will donate a rear end for our Trike project,” said Gary Mraz, BikernetTrikes.com associate editor. “Frankenstein has already built their version of a Bonneville Trike. We should have a talk with them. I really think it would be beneficial for 5-Ball Racing to work with Frank in some capacity. Attached is their 38-inch rear end.”

LAWMAKERS LOOK TO MUFFLE MOTORCYCLES IN NEW HAMPSHIRE–CONCORD, N.H.—Seacoast area representatives in the New Hampshire House are trying to lower motorcycle noise emission levels with a bill that motorcyclists say takes the wrong approach.

The bill would require an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) stamp on the exhaust system and lower the legal noise level to 82 decibels for motorcycles or motorcycle exhaust systems built starting next year. It would not change the 106-decibel noise emission limit for earlier models.

The bill also would place higher fines on offenders with $350 for the first fine and $500 for each subsequent offense. Current fines for noise violations are between $100 and $300.

The Transportation Committee is holding a hearing on the bill Tuesday.

Bike Week 2012 March 9-18
(Breaking from tradition), Bike Week 2012 will take place a week later next year. The motorcycle rally, which just celebrated its 70th anniversary, is moving from its initial projected date of March 2-11, to March 9-18, 2012, according to the Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce.

The move coincides with NASCAR?s decision to push the date of the 2012 Daytona 500 back one week. Daytona International Speedway requires two weeks to make the conversion from car to motorcycle racing, including the building of a Supercross track on the Speedway?s infield.)

UNCLE MONKEY CHOPPING FOR LIFE–Cut, chop, slice and heave. There was a time when the only way to get a truly righteous motorcycle you had to find a decent runner, tear it down and hack up the frame to get that radical stretch/rake that would make young girls swoon and grown men weep. It was what building a custom bike was all about. Pans and Knuckles were sacrificed to the biker gods to build the bikes that became an American icon.
Those bikes were cheap and readily available at the time, but as time has marched on original, unmolested frames became harder and harder to find. I am put off by guys who still insist on cutting the neck off of a straight leg just to build a chopper or worst yet, hack the frame into a million pieces to shoe-horn an Evo into it. Aftermarket frames are cheap and plentiful today from manufactures like Spitfire and Paughco, and they are more then willing to build you a North American made frame to whatever specs you want.

If you insist on vintage there are thousands of frames that have already been cutup and neglected waiting in garage corners. They have been replaced with Road Kings and Electra Glides. There is no reason to be hard tailing a seventies swing arm Shovel.

Now don’t get me wrong. I fully believe in building with what you got and personally cherried and raked out the frame on a Sporty. If a vintage frame is badly mutilated or tweaked beyond returning to stock, then I say have at it. But there comes a time when we have to start saving these frames so that future generations can see first hand the beauty of an original Knucklehead or a nice clean Panhead bobber. Picture books can only do so much.

AUSTRALIAN Fatal bikie shootout–  A major police inquiry is underway in Adelaide, South Australia, this morning after two leading members of a notorious bikie gang were gunned down.
Comanchero MC bikie gang member Giovanni Focarelli was shot dead and his father, club president Vince, survived a fourth attempt on his life in a shooting last night. Police at the scene confirmed that Giovanni’s body was in the back seat of a car on Prospect Rd, just outside Prospect Village Shopping Centre.

Police believe Focarelli – the self-proclaimed leader of the Comancheros SA chapter – and his son had been shot in a ”planned” attack at Flame Ave, Dry Creek.

Police have cordoned off the street and are doorknocking residents. Bleeding from up to four bullet wounds, Focarelli bundled his son, 22, into his Ford sedan and drove down Prospect Rd where he flagged down a police patrol for help.
Detective Superintendent Grant Moyle said police have spoken to Focarelli at the Royal Adelaide Hospital but ,”he has declined to provide us with any information that might assist us in identifying the offender.”

”I would suggest it was a very planned and targeted attack,” he said.

”We have a scene at Dry Creek where we believe the shooting did take place.

”We believe Mr Focarelli was driving from there down Prospect Rd where he has come across a patrol and has stopped in front of that and sought assistance.”

Det Supt Moyle could not say whether Giovanni died at the scene of the shooting or if he was alive when his father sought police help.

Vince Focarelli had boasted only weeks ago that he was “the only man on the planet with nine lives.”

BIKERNET 5-BALL RACING WHEELER REPORT–The past week blew by at an incredible rate, the heat in the kitchen is getting’ hotter and your hardworking Bikernet family is growing.

Cinci Dealer Expo

After last Thursday’s news managed a few hours of tossin’ and turnin’ in need of a modicum of rest. The phone rang, ripping me out of a bad ass Bonneville dream. The Commander in Chief relayed the plan of the day. Time to peel out, hit the deck at full speed or stay in the rack and go nowhere. The 6:00 am shuttle to LAX airport arrived stylishly late. We loaded our gear in the back of a glistening, tuxedo black town car and hauled ass up the 110 to the 405 North, destination LAX. Bandit and Doc from Heavy Duty magazine in Australia split on another airline heading non stop to Cincy. My itinerary routed me through Dallas where I caught a three-seat puddle jumper into Cincinnati for the three-day V-Twin motorcycle show.

It sure is great to see the massive improvements our motorcycle industry made over the years.

Spent time at the Primo-Rivera booth with Ben, ran into Steve at the BDL booth, Billy and the gang from STD were on hand. Arlen Ness and his family displayed their products, the Sands from PM wheels showed a booth full of innovative new pieces. Bert Baker and his crew with new improved, bullet proof transmission related products.

Michael Stone from Revolution Manufacturing was on hand with his carbon fiber technology. Rick Ball with RC Comp Wheels was non-stop. Ron Paugh and his trusty crew from Paughco hit the floor with a new 3-wheel rear section at a reasonable price–make your own trike. Joel from Headwinds headlights was shining as usual.

Windvest displayed windshields for damn near everything that rolls on two wheels. Memphis shades also had their windshields on display. Auto Meter was on hand showing the latest tachs, shift lites and speedometers. Paul from Lyndall Brakes had the latest, greatest version of composite, light- weight brake rotors and brake pads. Lyndall has a new way of attaching the carrier with a spiral lock on the back side that provides a firm connection for the carrier to blade. Looks like an improvement over the button attachments of the past.

Don’t miss the new 135-inch Twin Cam Engine from JIMS, available from any H-D dealership. This will be the puppy placed into our rocket ship for Bonneville 2013.

The show rocked all weekend. This show makes up the mainstream of the V-twin motorcycle aftermarket world and the dealers who support the manufacturers and distributors. Every man on the floor loves custom motorcycles, and wants to see our business flourish. You could feel the heart, the drive, and creativity in the air.

The show was lined with great friends and stellar products.

Finish it off with the easy-to-use and change 3Mode Shield with ClickRelease and you’ve got simply the best Bell ever. And coming from the company that invented the helmet, that’s saying a lot.

STAR CARBON

In pursuit of the ultimate in light weight (saving 100g over the standard version) and–we’ll admit it–because it looks bitchin’, we’ve done a special edition of the Star with a full carbon fiber shell. HARLEY-DAVIDSON HELPS COLLECT MORE THAN $160,000 FOR USO–
Money donated through dealerships and H.O.G. chapters to be used for care packages in 2012

Harley-Davidson announced today that the Company helped raise more than $160,000 on behalf of the United Service Organizations (USO) throughout November and December, which will be used to send care packages to troops overseas in the coming year. Donations were collected by Harley-Davidson dealerships and Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.) chapters around the country in honor of Military Appreciation Month and the holiday giving season between Nov. 1 and Dec. 31, 2011.

Harley-Davidson issued a challenge to local H.O.G. chapters to each collect $500 or more, and more than 200 chapters, along with dealerships from coast to coast, rose to the challenge to help raise the money to support the USO and U.S. troops stationed overseas.

“We’re incredibly grateful to our loyal customers and dealer partners who helped us make this partnership a big success,” said Mike McCann, Director of Core Customer and Military Marketing for Harley-Davidson. “We’re always looking for new ways to support our military men and women, and we’re proud to have been able to work with the USO on this effort.”

The largest donation came from the Wild Prairie H.O.G. Chapter from Wild Prairie Harley-Davidson in Eden Prairie, Minn. The group collected $10,853, and they will be honored for their efforts at their chapter meeting Thursday, Feb. 9 by Harley-Davidson staff, members of the military and representatives from the USO.

In addition to the snacks, toiletries and phone cards included in every standard care package, every package sent from the USO this year will also include two complimentary tickets to the Harley-Davidson Museum in Milwaukee – approximately 250,000 tickets in total.

“These care packages are very important to our troops,” said USO Sr. VP and Chief Development Officer Kelli Seely. “They provide them with a touch of home and a way to connect with their loved ones. We’re thankful that Harley-Davidson was able to step up and support an effort that means so much to the USO and our troops.”

Harley-Davidson’s history with the U.S. military dates to World War I and World War II.

Today Harley-Davidson supports U.S. military personnel through programs like Harley’s Heroes®. In 2007, The Harley-Davidson Foundation made its first $1 million grant to Disabled American Veterans to support its Mobile Service Offices that travel throughout the U.S. to provide counseling and assistance to help veterans and their families secure the benefits they earned through their service. The program has become known as Harley’s Heroes. Last year, the Foundation made a second $1 million grant to continue its support of the program.

Harley-Davidson also recently sponsored three tours of Bikes Over Baghdad, which brought a team of the biggest names in action sports to bases in Iraq, Kuwait and other parts of the Middle East to perform BMX shows for thousands of troops. For two of the three tours, Harley-Davidson sent one of its own employees along to show the company’s personal gratitude.

For more about Harley-Davidson’s Military Appreciation Month activities and the company’s longstanding commitment to the U.S. military, visit

HIDING COPS EXPOSED– CHARLESTON, WV Hackers post cops’ personal info.

Hackers affiliated with the group Anony-mous obtained personal information for more than 150 police officers from an old website of the West Virginia Chiefs of Police Association and posted the data online.

The FBI is investigat¬ing, said William Roper, the association’s presi¬dent and the police chief of Ranson, W.Va., said.

He said the hackers obtained the home ad¬dresses, home phone numbers and cell phone numbers of current and retired police chiefs from a website that has not been used in two years.

CAPONE Racing to start 2012 Season w NEW List of GOALS– Wakefield, Mass: Frank Capone has completed all the goals he had set in his 2nd season with the AHDRA (All Harley Drag Racing Assoc.). After winning Pro Rookie of the Year in 2010, Capone and team, Mark Godin, Richard Murray, Lorne Buchanan and Katy Miller (with their ever present coffee pot) at 2011’s seasons end, smashed a series of records and feel they are up for a new set of goals for 2012.

Even before the official season begins, Capone has announced the best way to advance the sport is to help the AHDRA add to the excitement. Capone Racing is pleased to announce that they have become an official contingency sponsor for the AHDRA Pro Modified Class.

Interestingly, ABATE of Georgia has been trying to find out how much of the NHTSA checkpoint money has been spent, and how much is left . . . Georgia State Representative Ann Purcell (who will be our banquet speaker at BEAST – http://www1.legis.ga.gov/legis/2011_12/house/bios/purcellAnn.htm) has been trying to get that information for ABATE of Georgia with no luck . . . they’re basically telling her that since it’s federal money, it’s none of her business. Dan Forrest called me about this last night and asked if there is anything we can do to get the information from NHTSA?

DAVE RASH OF D&D EXHAUST TO SUPPORT THE BIKERNET/CYCLE SOURCE 15TH ANNIVERSARY SUBSCRIPTION SWEEPS BUILD SPONSORED BY XPRESS–I had a long conversation with the Pope of pipe while I was scrambling on the news today. He’s an affable Texan, who we work with from time to time on projects including my Mudflap Girl FXR, and various Bonneville projects.

He stepped up the other day and offered to help with the exhaust system components for our Sweeps bike build by Gary Maurer of Kustoms Inc, and Ron Harris of Chop Docs. It will be powered by a Crazy Horse 100-inch engine. Dave will supply the pieces so the brothers can build whatever system their creative impulses demand.

LAS VEGAS COPS ON CAMERA–A Las Vegas man has won a lawsuit against police officers who beat him while he was in diabetic shock — a beating captured on videotape.

The Daily Mail reports police pulled over Adam Greene early one morning in October 2010 because his car was weaving. Greene said he was driving that way because he was a diabetic and was in shock.

Nevada State Troopers and Henderson police dragged him out of the car at gunpoint and threw him to the ground. While four officers restrained him and yelled “stop resisting,” a fifth walked over and kicked Greene in the head several times. Then they found the insulin in his pocket and realized what was going on.

“He’s a diabetic. He’s probably in shock, semi-conscious,” an officer said on his radio.
One of the officers later realized the dashboard cam was one, “It’s on camera,” he said.
Another officer responded, “They don’t know you. I wouldn’t worry about it.”

The Las Vegas Sun reports the city of Henderson will pay Greene $158,000, and Nevada will pay an additional $30,000.

NEW FEATURE COMING TO BIKERNET BAGGERS–The Beast – A 131 Inch Ticket Giver.
As I may have mentioned briefly before, hanging out at a bike shop has disadvantages most people do not even consider, mainly getting to ride some very nice bikes that you cannot keep! The bagger pictured here is a excellent example of such a bike, yes it is a bagger (OK I am getting older, so maybe one day?)

Yes, it does have a couple of thing I personally am against, however the one thing that cancels out the radio, in Spades I say, is the 131″ Jims power plant nestled between your legs!

THURSDAY GUN NUT REPORT–While a Berreta Jetfire in .22 short is probably better than nothing as a defensive weapon, it’s strictly a mano a mano, close contact gun. And while it may eventually stop your assailant, he’ll still have time to beat the crap out of you, gut you with a knife, or shove the little popgun up your ass before he expires.

Still speaking of guns, last weekend, a lady friend and I visited the National Firearms Museum at NRA headquarters in Fairfax, VA. What an incredible collection of antique, classic and modern firearms! It’s a must-see for any visitor to the DC area. Check it out at http://www.nramuseum.com/ and take a virtual tour.

METALSPORT AND VEE-RUBBER THE BUZZ OF DEALER SHOW–The majority of the bikes featured in the booths and aisles were Baggers, and the big feature was the massive 26-inch and 30-inch wheels. The only company making tires for this crazy applications is Vee Rubber, distributed by MetalSport.

Some guys were having leaking problems with the big diameter tires. If you’re concerned about mounting, the MetalSport crew will mount the tires before shipment, and you’ll be good to go. We immediately took a run to the Metal Sport compound. They have been very concerned about leak-related problems, but they discovered one shop experienced no problems, while another facility met with constant airing down troubles. The issue could be mounting and the use of tire spoons over tire-machine mounting.

We will bring you more reports on MetalSport and Vee Rubber Tires in the near future. MetalSport manufactures class billet wheels designed by Chip Foose. In fact, all the wheels on the Mudflap girl FXRs are Chip Foose designed.

EPA TO SEEK INDEPENDENT SCIENTIFIC ANALYSIS ON EFFECTS OF 15 PERCENT ETHANOL— Urge your Representative to support today! On February 7, 2012, the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology will vote on H.R. 3199 introduced by Representative Jim Sensenbrenner (R-WI) on October 14, 2011. This bill would require the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to seek independent scientific analysis on the effects of 15 percent ethanol blend (E15) gasoline.

To watch a live webcast of the markup, click here http://capwiz.com/amacycle/utr/1/CFOBRHOWCA/NKFCRHOWCH/7881423441 . “The EPA’s decision to allow E15 into the marketplace will impact every American who owns a car, lawnmower or boat,” Sensenbrenner said.

Automakers insist that using E15 will void warranties, lower fuel efficiency and cause premature engine failure. In off-road engines, the effects can even be dangerous for users. “There are serious concerns that the EPA used only one Department of Energy test and rushed E15’s introduction into the marketplace,” Sensenbrenner said. “This test was limited in scope and ignored a plethora of evidence To join, go to www.AmericanMotorcyclist.com/membership/join .

To Those Concerned:

RARE ANTIQUES STOLEN–
Last night two thugs did a late night home invasion of Jeff Gilbert and his wife.
They tasered and tied them up, then stole his 1914 Cyclone and a 1952 CR110 Honda racebike.

Cyclone is valued about at $million, Honda about 60K. Jeff had no insurance on them.

He would like to put the word out to anybody who might see a screamin’ yellow Cyclone that it was stolen and if seen, call the W. L.A. police dept.

I’ve attached some photos I had taken previously for an article I wrote about the Cyclone.

BRIT BIKERS HEADING TO BONNEVILLE– A team of Brit Bikers are coming to Bonneville for this year’s Speed Week. Not coming to watch, we’re coming to race.

At the moment there are seven bikes, a Honda CBR, my bike (a ’42 Indian Scout), a Weslake 1000cc V-twin with one of only 6 engines ever made, a Triumph, plus some pretty awesome Jap-4 drag bikes. All are owner-built from scratch in home workshops around the UK.

This trip has been over two years in the planning and none of us has much money, but we’ll be there, in fact we’re in the process of booking a container right now.

We’ll be landing the bikes either in LA or Frisco. Here’s a couple of pictures of my Indian, all the bikes we’re bringing are to a similar build standard.

My name is Danny Grinnell, I am a Michigan based filmmaker and currently in production on my new Documentary Ron Finch That’s All You Get. Ron Finch is an American Icon and Internationally known Bike Builder/Artist who has been customizing bikes since the ’60s.
With one week to go in our Kickstarter campaign we could use a few business pledges. Here is a chance for Global Exposure and some collectible Finch items. Please send this to all your friends as we are trying to reach All Fans of Finch who may really enjoy being a part of this.

Ron Finch, legendary motorcycle builder, pin striper, painter, artist and biker is internationally known for his unique creations. Overcoming a speech disorder in the ’40s, Ron Finch revolutionized the motorcycle industry and still amazes people with his wild metal sculpting and psychedelic painting. Told in a style that reflects Ron’s artistic sensibilities, “Ron FInch That’s All You Get” quickly reveals that with Ron, it’s never all you get.

I’m creating a film experience that offers fans and enthusiasts of cycles & art a glimpse into Ron’s uniquely creative mind.

I’m using mainly Michigan based music with a few exceptions. You can support these acts by visiting their websites and buying some music or Merch. The List so far:

PETER LINNEY FEATURE COMING TO BIKERNET–This classic bobbed Triumph with the lovely Sarah, is coming to Bikernet shortly. This bike was a competitor at the recent Grand National Roadster Show in Pomona, California.

Hang on for the feature.

IT’S A SITE FOR SORE EYES… At BAKER we’re really proud of our technical prowess. We will get buried in discussions of gear ratios, proper tooth angles, and technical applications whenever we can. However, for years the BAKER Drivetrain website has been lacking some of the real meat and potatoes kind of technical information that the real gearheads are craving.

So we took the last year, assembled a team of the strongest technical and artistic minds in our company, and built an all new website that we’re positive will satisfy that hunger.

Our goal with the new site was for it to be easier to use for our customers and dealers, have the best, juiciest kinds of pictures and diagrams that show off the technical side of our product lines, and most of all: be chocked full of the information that everyone has been clamoring for.

We chose to divide the product lines up based on the same kind of categorizing we used in our most recent series of catalogs: by application type. From those drop down menus you can find product- specific pages that go into vast detail, with supporting imagery, about each innovation we make. Extensive technical details on each page will layout everything from gear ratios of each product, to the kind of metal we make it from, to choices of case finish, and even suggested product upgrades. Each product page includes:

– Application pictures showing the product in use on a variety of bikes types
– Gearing information and options so you can build a tranny to match your riding style
– Finish choices so you can customize the look of your transmission
– Warranty information to show the kind of unmatched support that BAKER offers.
– Installation instructions so you can see how easy it goes together before you even buy your BAKER
– Detailed CAD images showing everything from power flow to gear sequences and even vibrant cutaway illustrations showing the inner workings of our product lines
– Direct link buttons to our online store

To add to the site, we’ve included easy to find contact information, direct mail links, helpful downloads, BAKER history, a staff page where you can put a face with the name on the phone, and even a state-of-the-art dealer locator where you can not only find the nearest Baker Dealer but map yourself straight to their door with turn-by-turn directions. We also have a Live Chat feature where you can ring our doorbell and ask one of our techs in real time any Drivetrain questions you may have.

We didn’t leave a stone unturned with this new site. So send the wife to the mall, grab your favorite lotion and box of tissue and spend a few hours online with BAKER…
