EVEL BIKERNET WEEKLY NEWS for July 12, 2018

Hey,

It’s a good one, this week under the stars and blistering heat. There’s progress on lots of fronts. I’m making headway on my metal art donation for the Flying Piston Breakfast Charity effort. You’ll see it next week.

We are making a move on our Salt Torpedo Bonneville Effort with JIMS and Paughco.

Sturgis Plans are finally coming together. My efforts for the community and the Port of Los Angeles are soon to be wrapped up.

The Panhead repairs are taking a twist. I’m going to succumb and take my Linkert to Larry Settle for another look. I’ll ride this puppy yet.

I’m finishing another Cantina Episode and may post it tomorrow. Regarding the California Air Resources Board and the future of custom motorcycles, I’ve attacked and they no longer speak to me. I told them they should honor freedom and go plant trees to be productive. I don’t think they get it…

I’m waiting for a report back from Tony Sanfelipo on our next call to action report. I’ll keep you posted. In the meantime shit is happening everywhere. It’s hot and heavy and folks don’t want negative waves disturbing their Wa.

Wa is a Chinese word for your comfort zone. It’s that area in your shop where you don’t allow anyone to say, “No,” or “I can’t.”

The next word I learned in a book from the ‘70s called “Zen and Martial Arts,” was Ri. Ri means you looked past an obstacle to see your positive conclusion. The obstacle in your face is no longer there and your positive conclusion has unfolded.

Let’s hit the news. Nothing can stop us and we will never give up, right?

The Bikernet Weekly News is sponsored in part by companies who also dig Freedom including: Cycle Source Magazine, the MRF, Las Vegas Bikefest, Iron Trader News, ChopperTown, BorntoRide.com and the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum. Most recently the Smoke Out and Quick Throttle Magazine came on board.

CHOPPERS MAGAZINE IS COMING BACK–I am bringing back the Ed Roth style of Choppers Magazine. I’m sure my Paisano e-mail will be turned off soon. I’m no longer an Associate Editor for Easyriders. Note my new e-mail. Choppers forever.

ACTION NEWS OF THE WEEK–LAS VEGAS (Sunday – July 8, 2018) – Sunday night, in front of an estimated 25,000 fans watching in-person from Las Vegas and more tuning in live on television across North America, action sports superstar Travis Pastrana celebrated Evel Knievel during the unprecedented HISTORY live event, “Evel Live.”

Produced in partnership with Nitro Circus, “Evel Live” saw Pastrana pay homage to Knievel’s legacy as he set out to recreate three of the American legend’s most iconic jumps.

Pastrana pushed the limits even further though, breaking Knievel’s famous car and Greyhound bus jump records before completing the epic Caesars Palace fountain jump that left Knievel grasping for his life 50 years ago. Shortly after Pastrana took a celebratory dive into the Caesars Palace fountains to cap off the night.

“I’m thrilled to have had this opportunity to honor Evel Knievel, whose guts and showmanship created the foundation for action sports,” Travis Pastrana said afterwards. “Evel pushed himself and flew further on a motorcycle than anyone thought possible.

So with this modern day tribute we wanted to bridge generations – from my parents generation who was inspired by Evel to the generation after me who may not know much about the original stunt men who paved the way – HISTORY and Nitro Circus wanted to show just how incredible his accomplishments were. To be able do that in Las Vegas and at Caesars Palace, where Evel’s legend was born, is so awesome.”

Developing: Stormy Daniels Arrested In Ohio While Performing–
Her attorney, Michael Avenatti, posted the matter via his Twitter account, saying that he believes the move is politically motivated and “reeks of desperation”.

Her attorney further commented: “She was arrested for allegedly allowing a customer to touch her while on stage in a non-sexual manner! Are you kidding me? They are devoting law enforcement resources to sting operations for this? There has to be higher priorities!!!”

“We will vehemently contest all charges,” Avenatti said. Her attorney spoke further with NBC News, saying that the arrest involved multiple undercover officers who were in the club while Daniels was performing. After her set, he says, a customer touched her and that’s when vice officers arrested her.

Stormy Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, claims she had sex with Trump in 2006, while he was married to Melania Trump. In 2016, on the eve of the presidential election, Michael Cohen, then Donald Trump’s personal attorney, used a shell company he had set up to pay Daniels $130,000 in exchange for her signing a nondisclosure agreement.

Daniels has said the agreement barred her from speaking publicly about her tryst with Trump and yet she did anyway? Can she even be trusted at this point?

Daniels has since then used every opportunity that has come her way to speak about the event and since then has become more popular than ever. Sure, it’s speculation, but it’s not hard to see why she would break such a contract whether or not the “tryst” happened.

Freedom of the Road

Is it righteous or are we toads.
Can we raise a fist for freedom
Or are our desires eliminated from the kingdom?

Can we blame Change on Life
And disavow human strife?
Should we know the taste of exhilaration
Or leave the grass pure for our nation

Can we compare an open valley
Against the trash in a city alley?
Are Fossils bad fuels
Or did it bring us hope and closer to schools.

Can a brother get straight answers,
Or will the control freaks become the masters?

Are we living through another Vietnam era?
But this time it’s the environmentalists against citizens and industry?

ANSWER FOR SUNDAY NEWS COMMENT BY ROSS–The query on Timeless Motor Company by Ross Apperley

With my expertise in Detective work having trained from reading many novels of Sam Spade and Philip Marlowe, I believe – They are still in business –

http://www.timelessmotorcompany.com/home.html

DISCLAIMER on their website – Timeless Motorcycles are produced to a 1910 era technology. Due to liability issues, Timeless Motorcycles are sold as collectors’ items only and not to be used on streets or highways. Modern Department of Transportation Standards (DOT) are not applicable.

Well, sure as hell CARB, California rules might not be met. LOL.

They also have two new vintage motorcycles to their family, (Replicas of the 1911 Flying Merkel and the 1911 V-twin), you can now choose from five vintage motorcycle Replicas in their collection. The V-twin is beautiful.

Their whole line of Replica motorcycles can be purchased as a kit or fully assembled.

I think they undertake commissioned orders for a specific antique model you want re-created based on their mention of a custom Dave Catallini Timeless boardtrack racer featured in Hot Bike magazine with the logo on its tank “Hawley-Wood”.

With the bent and broken rules and laws in India I could totally legally ride these replicas on every road here with a license plate registered. But then I can’t afford these beauties at all. Unless my rich uncle Bandit is feeling generous or drunk enough to send me one. LOL.

Anyways, Bikernet should drop them an email because Bikernet.com is not mentioned in its Press section which has list of media coverage of that company from AMD, Cycle World, MCN, Thunder Press, etc.

http://www.timelessmotorcompany.com/press.html

My only advice to that company is that – their website mentions plenty of things about their bikes including starting prices but says absolutely nothing about how anyone could purchase one from their company.

I would recommend people to get in touch with this Master Crafter of Timeless Motorcycles on his Facebook Page – where he has mentioned a 1903 motorcycle he re-created.

Movie: The Incredibles 2–
Gotta love Pixar: Even though The Incredibles franchise is for the PG crowd, it isn’t afraid to be cerebral and wordy. (I mean … author Sarah Vowell is an Incredibles voice actor.)

While I’m not thrilled that Pixar—and movie studios in general—continue to invest in retreading franchises rather than creating more Coco-style originals, I still support The Incredibles 2‘s mission: a strong, female-led family saving the world locally and globally.

Much like I let it slide that The Incredibles 2 is a sequel, I’ll also let slide that the sentences are short and the language is unchallenging. It’s a kid movie! It’d be hard to hammer in the feel-good morality with SAT-level vocabulary.

That being said, we did find some pretty awesome literary devices in this pretty awesome film …

alliteration: “Over Dusseldorf, Doozles are dozing…”
wordplay: Screenslaver (a character’s name)
callback: Dash Parr: “Wait, I thought you renounced superheroes.” Violet Parr: “Well, I renounce my renouncement!”
rhetorical question: Violet Parr: “So, are we going to talk about it?” Bob Parr: “What?” Violet Parr: “The elephant in the room.”

CAVE RESCUE REPORT–‘A beautiful moment’ in Thailand

The world received good news from Thailand this morning. After being stranded in a cave for more than two weeks, 12 young boys and their soccer coach were successfully rescued in a difficult mission. “On behalf of the United States, congratulations to the Thai Navy SEALs and all on the successful rescue,” President Trump tweeted.

American personnel helped stage equipment, prepared the first three chambers of the cave system for safe passage, assisted in transporting the soccer team evacuees through the cave system, and are providing medical personnel and other technical assistance as needed. U.S. coordination with the Thai military, Thai government, and other entities was extremely positive and effective, according to Department of Defense officials.

By P Gosselin on 7. July 2018

German climate and weather analyst “Schneefan” (Snow Fan) here writes a summary of the first half of 2018 thus far. All data show that the surface temperature of the globe has been cooling strongly over the past months and polar ice mass growing.

He writes that in the first half of this year we have seen weak solar activity and La Nina conditions acting to cool the globe’s surface. Moreover Arctic and Antarctic ice mass have grown in comparison to the previous years.

COUNCIL OF CLUBS REPORT–The Imaginary War Between MC’s And the Government

The National Council of Clubs (NCOC), dedicated to protecting the legal and political interests of motorcycle clubs coast-to-coast, is extremely concerned about an imaginary war between motorcycle clubs and the government, created in the minds of some law enforcement and government prosecutors, playing itself out in courthouses across America.

This ideology of war has followed us to the steps of the criminal justice system, where visibly draconian security measures have been implemented based on unsubstantiated and ambiguous sources, even though there have been no validated examples of motorcycle clubs storming courthouses during a trial.

A topical example reinforcing such irresponsible claims has been recently memorialized in a Texas District Attorney’s press release relating to the supposed and constant threat of violent retaliation that prosecutors face during biker trials.

Despite the absurdity of the claim that any motorcycle club would storm a courthouse or target prosecutors with violence, there are no consequences for these falsehoods meant only to perpetuate fear and reinforce false narratives about 1% motorcycle clubs. And, of course, these false threats are used to justify excessive security measures during biker trials.

This fear-based tactic has real implications. Inside the courtroom, juries will be biased against biker defendants because of the perception that their safety is in jeopardy. Outside the courtroom, law enforcement will increasingly treat those exercising the constitutional liberties of association and expression as a direct violent threat based on inaccurate information and training.

Incidents of motorcycle profiling and selective enforcement of the law will likely continue at epidemic levels until a more accurate narrative is reported by the media, both grassroots and mainstream.

Texas – The Recent Battleground

Sharon Wilson, the Tarrant County District Attorney, issued a press release on June 28, 2018 (below) reporting that Assistant District Attorney Pamela Boggess has been named “2018 Prosecutor Of The Year” by the Texas Gang Investigators Association for the successful prosecution of Ft. Worth Bandido Howard “Drifter” Baker, convicted last year of directing a criminal organization.

Without debating the merits of Drifter’s prosecution, or the sufficiency of his legal counsel, the NCOC believes that the Tarrant County District Attorney’s press release further perpetuates baseless claims only intended to sensationalize and prejudice public perception against defendants and motorcycle clubs generally. Boggess is being recognized not only for a successful prosecution, but also for being successful under the constant threat of gang retaliation, a theatrical claim at best. The Press Release states:

“Prosecutors were the target of violent threats from gang sources throughout their handling of the case, and Tarrant County Sheriff Bill Waybourn maintained an unprecedented lockdown of the courthouse, including deputies positioned on the rooftops, for the duration of the trial.”….”These gang members rely on intimidation tactics, but they find out quickly they’ve met their match in Pam Boggess.”

What gang sources? What information did these sources provide? Why has no one been arrested or prosecuted for these threats? Unfortunately, this “made for Hollywood” scenario in Ft. Worth is NOT an anomaly. Similar incidents in Waco and San Antonio courthouses involving enhanced security measures based on fictitious threats, with the same unanswered questions, have been widely publicized in the media.

Imaginary Threats in Waco and San Antonio

In fact, NCOC participants were present during both trials and witnessed firsthand the ridiculous security measures employed, again based on unsubstantiated claims. In Waco, the Sheriff’s Office constructed a fence around the entire courthouse and paid hundreds of thousands for extra security at the courthouse, and for personal security for prosecutors away from the courthouse. In San Antonio, a person was required to go through two metal detectors and have their ID photographed before they could enter the courtroom and sit in designated seats. Marshals surrounded the defendants in court, even when the jury was present.

The idea of using a tragic incident, whether it be a trial or a shooting, to advance a campaign of fear and draconian security, is not a new one. And it’s particularly not new in Texas.

An Example Outside The Courthouse- Sgt. Swanton’s Fairytale Fiction

Years before the mistrial in the first Waco prosecution of Dallas Bandido Jake Carrizal, Sgt. Swanton of the Waco Police Department declared on national TV, as nearly 200 people were rounded-up to ultimately be arrested on generic fill-in the blank arrest warrants based solely on their associations, that they had received credible threats that bikers had “green-lit” law enforcement and were coming to Waco to retaliate. 1 Immediately following the incident at Twin peaks Waco law enforcement issued a statement warning “bikers to stay off the streets because it was difficult to distinguish between law-abiding riders and those bent on criminality.” The local Harley Davidson dealership was even closed. 2 The Federal Board of Prisons, the Texas Border Intelligence Agency, and the Texas Department of Public Safety all issued bulletins based on these reports about retaliation. 3 But in the end, after the national spotlight had disappeared, authorities admitted that none of the threats of retaliation were found valid or true.

Law enforcement quietly acknowledged, but failed to emphasize, that these reports were based on completely unsubstantiated information provided by an unnamed informant. 4 Additionally, the alleged
informant lost all credibility and believability by naming a non-existent club called the “Black Widows” as the source of the information. “The Black Widows Motorcycle Club, while it might carry a looming scary name, is actually the fictitious group from a Clint Eastwood movie “Every Which Way But Loose“. There is no actual Bike Gang called “The Black Widows” anywhere in the South or Southwest.” 5

Furthermore, NCOC participants observed firsthand Waco PD and Texas DPS officers admitting under oath during the Carrizal trial that threats reported by Swanton in 2015 turned out to be false and unsubstantiated. But even after the Waco PD’s original story started to fall apart, most of the media that originally swallowed Swanton’s narrative without question, never doing their own investigation or fact checking, never went back to correct the record even though many were present during this testimony.

After the smoke and mirrors are removed, no valid threat of violence from motorcycle clubs against law enforcement or government authorities exists. An NCOC participant from Nevada with vast trial experience, including trials with excessive security issues, confirms that authorities have zero historical basis when he writes, “We have asked judges or prosecutors to find a biker trial where they have had court issues, and they cannot.” But the headlines have already done their perceptual damage. The outlaw image is simply too easy to exploit, too easy to sensationalize, and too easily manipulated to generate real fear. Fear in the eyes of jurors, law enforcement, the general public, and even other motorcyclists.

The Media’s Responsibility

The NCOC believes that public officials and law enforcement should be challenged by the media when they feed reporters sensationalized rhetoric. The media should demand an answer to these questions before irresponsible and one-sided messaging is used to generate fear and hysteria that has tangibly negative impacts on motorcycle clubs and their members. The imaginary threats faced by law enforcement do not exist. But the ability to influence juries, justify draconian security on the taxpayer’s dime, and perpetuate law enforcement profiling and abuse is very real.

Until that happens, grassroots media unconstrained by institutional control must continue to challenge mainstream media with balanced and investigative reporting. Reducing the use of one-sided media reports that reinforce stereotypes of danger reduces bias, and the probability of treating bikers as criminals, Media that counters stereotypes can reduce perceptions of danger. There is even evidence that “counter-stereotypic information can reduce or even eliminate bias.” (*See JOSHUA CORRELL from the University of Chicago, The influence of stereotypes on decisions to shoot, Eur. J. Soc. Psychol. 37, 1102–1117 (2007))

Balanced media that highlights the positive contributions and attributes of the motorcycling community directly impacts the general perception that all bikers are dangerous. Beyond the inherent value of truth, reducing perceptions of danger can directly reduce mistakes made by police when dealing with bikers.

VESTAL WATCH COMPANY LAUNCHES A NEW #VESTALVILLAGE PARTY EXPERIENCE ON THE SANDS OF BOLSA CHICA STATE BEACH JUST NORTH OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, SURF CITY USA, CA.

FROM THURSDAY, JUNE 28 TO SUNDAY, JULY 1 AND MARKING ITS 10TH VESTAL VILLAGE TO DATE, VESTAL HOSTED A MULTI-DAY CELEBRATION OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA BEACH CULTURE AND WELCOMED 1,085 GUESTS DUBBED “VILLAGERS” TO BOLSA CHICA STATE BEACH FOR THE WEEKEND.

THE EXPERIENTIAL EVENT INCLUDED 100 GLAMPING TENTS PARKED JUST MERE STEPS FROM THE WATER, RUSSEL SURFBOARDS AVAILABLE FOR ALL GUESTS TO DEMO, OVER 40 UP AND COMING ARTISTS FROM THE SOCAL AREA AND PERFORMANCES BY WELL KNOW ACTS INCLDUING MICKEY AVALON, THE BLACK LIPS, DEAD SARA AND LOCAL PHENOM GROUP, SPENDTIME PALACE.

It’s Saturday, and Mickey Avalon’s performance just began so surreal as the sun disappeared over the horizon to reveal a deep red, brilliantly lit sunset. The perfect backdrop for the main headliner that night. A night that included girls, girls and more girls plus an unannounced special guest performance by Scott Russo of Unwritten Law performing Mickey’s song, GIRLFRIEND. A day and night filled with entertainment, special moments and surprise performances, and ended with Mickey welcoming the girls crowding the front stage to join him on the main stage for one last song.

100 GIANT GLAMPING TENTS ON THE SAND // were nestled on the beach just mere steps from the ocean.

With special permission by California State Beaches, Vestal celebrated its 10th Vestal Village on the beach by doing something that hasn’t been allowed at any California State Beach in decades. Camping on the beach and on the sand, ocean front. There were 100 large Glamping Tents perfectly constructed over two long days and arranged in a grid pattern. The beach looked awe-inspiring along the ocean front that weekend. Glamping was a hit at Vestal Village and fully booked all weekend by artists and villagers alike.

There were a lot of micro-parties at the village and when they checked in, they found out that Mickey Avalon was their next-door neighbor. The proximity set the stage for good times that weekend.

Gettysburg Bike Week 2018 Starts July 12th–Full Lineup of Entertainment including Jackyl, Lita Ford and Parmalee

Back for its 17th year Gettysburg Bike Week kicks off Thursday, July 12, 2018, and runs through Sunday, July 15 at the Allstar Events Complex in Gettysburg, PA. The entertainment line-up is full of great music, The Wall of Death and Cycle Source Magazine Bike Show

On Thursday night July 12th, country music act Parmalee takes the stage. It took 12 long years of hard work for brothers Matt and Scott Thomas (lead vocals and drums), their cousin Barry Knox (bass) and their best friend Josh McSwain (lead guitar) to achieve breakout success with their platinum-certified, #1 hit single “Carolina” in 2013. From humble beginnings, they now play hundreds of dates each year, on the world’s biggest stages and reside at the top of Billboard’s country chart.

Gettysburg Bike Week is proud to welcome Lita Ford to the Budweiser stage on Friday July 13th. Lead guitarist of the seminal all-girl hard-rock band The Runaways, and known for her blistering guitar and powerful vocals, Lita Ford has been playing her solo brand of heavy rock for over 35 years.

Saturday night will bring Jackyl to the stage with their outrageously entertaining style of rock and roll. Hailing from the great state of Georgia. Jackyl will brings its brand of musical mayhem to Gettysburg Bike Week: Is it hard rock? Heavy metal? Southern rock? It’s all three, so get ready to get down!

In addition to headliners top-flight regional music acts include the Metallica tribute band Fade to Black; acoustic wizards Redemption Road, Tom Senseney, and Acoustic Juice; Marshall’s Highway; Sound of Silence; and child percussion prodigy Avery the Drummer.

And music is just the beginning when it comes to this year’s entertainment.

PASSION BUILT IN STURGIS EXHIBIT–Michael Lichter and Rod Woodruff invite you to the 10th Annual 2018 Motorcycles as Art exhibition at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip titled “Passion Built – Garage to Gallery,” curated by Michael Lichter.

About this year’s Motorcycles as Art

Curated by world-famous photographer Michael Lichter, the 2018 exhibit, “Passion Built – Garage to Gallery” features the work of more than 50 builders and artists who demonstrate incredible passion and have built motorcycles and made art especially for this show. All support themselves by other means, yet they all build professional-quality custom motorcycles outside of a professional workplace.

As a follow up to the 2017 “Old Iron – Young Blood” exhibit, which focused on the work of builders under age 35, this exhibit broadens the diversity of the artists to include those passionate about custom building motorcycles even through retirement.

In addition to the custom motorcycles on display, you’ll have the opportunity to take in multiple artists presenting 2-dimensional art hanging throughout the hall alongside each motorcycle.

The exhibit will also include a Biltwell helmet display with 10 artists each painting one helmet.

BIKERNET BAD JOKE LIBRARY IS STILL WIDE OPEN–During a commercial airline flight an experienced Air Force Pilot was seated next to a young mother with a babe in arms. When the baby began crying during the descent for landing, the mother began nursing the infant as discreetly as possible in limited space

.The U.S. Air Force Officer pretended not to notice anything, and, upon disembarking, he gallantly offered his assistance to help with the various baby-related items.

When the young mother expressed her gratitude, the pilot responded, “that’s a good looking baby, and he sure was hungry!”

Somewhat embarrassed, the mother explained that her pediatrician said that the time spent on her breast would help alleviate the pressure in the baby’s ears.

The Air Force Pilot sadly shook his head, and in true pilot fashion exclaimed, “And all these years, I’ve been chewing gum!”

GEORGE CLOONEY INJURED IN MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT--OLBIA, Sardinia — Actor George Clooney slammed his motorbike into an oncoming car that turned suddenly into his lane Tuesday and was thrown several meters (yards) in the air on the Italian island of Sardinia, according to video of the crash.

“He is recovering at his home and will be fine,” Clooney spokesman Stan Rosenfield told The Associated Press in an email.

Surveillance video of the crash, apparently taken by a fixed security video, was obtained late Tuesday by the newspaper Corriere della Sera. It shows a blue Mercedes veering into oncoming traffic apparently to turn into a residential compound near Olbia. The video shows what is reported as Clooney’s scooter crashing into the car while another scooter alongside him manages to veer around it.

Ambulance personnel tend to a man lying on the ground, later identified as actor George Clooney, after being involved in a scooter accident in the near Olbia, on the Sardinia island, Italy, Tuesday, July 10, 2018. Actor George Clooney was taken to the hospital in Sardinia on Tuesday and released after being involved in an accident while riding his motor scooter, hospital officials said. “He is recovering at his home and will be fine,” spokesman Stan Rosenfield told The Associated Press in an email.

ROGUE’S NATURE WARNING FOR SUMMER RIDING–Bear attacks on human are rare, despite what this photo and dramatic news reports say.

Visitors to the backwoods of Alaska are more apt to die from bee stings and snake bites than they are to be mauls by a bear, yet we fear bears more than bees and snakes.

Humans have a primal fear of being eaten by a wild animal, like a bear. This may be an involuntary fear left over from our pioneer days.

Still, anytime we venture into the natural habitat of a wild animal, especially an apex predator, we need to be on alert and avoid any sort of behavior that could provoke an attack…perhaps, riding a bike.

VA MEDICAL CENTER NURSE INDICTED– Arraigned for Allegedly Tampering With and Stealing Prescription Opioids

PROVIDENCE – A nurse employed at the Providence VA Medical Center was arraigned and pled not guilty today in U.S. District Court in Providence to a federal grand jury indictment charging him with stealing liquid opioids for his own personal use and replacing them with saline.

Jared Scott, 34, of West Warwick, was indicted on June 28, 2018, on one count each of tampering with consumer products and acquiring a controlled substance by deception and subterfuge.

Scott was released on unsecured bond following his arraignment before U.S. District Court Magistrate Judge Lincoln D. Almond.

According to information presented to the court, Scott, as a Providence VA Medical Center nurse, had access to vials of liquid opioids for patient use. Scott would access the vials, often for patients that were not his, remove vials of the drug for his own personal use, and leave behind vials filled with saline.

The indictment and arraignment of Jared Scott are announced by United States Attorney Stephen G. Dambruch; Sean J. Smith, Special Agent in Charge of the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Inspector General; and Jeffrey J. Ebersole, Resident Agent in Charge of the United States Food and Drug Administration Office of Criminal Investigations.

An indictment is merely an allegation and is not evidence of guilt. A defendant is entitled to a fair trial in which it will be the government’s burden to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

Tampering with a consumer product is punishable by statutory penalties of up to 10 years in federal prison, 3 years supervised release and a fine of $250,000. Obtaining a controlled substance by misrepresentation, fraud, deception and subterfuge is punishable by statutory penalties of up to 4 years in federal prison, 1 year supervised release and a fine of $250,000.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Terrence P. Donnelly.

The matter was investigated by the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Inspector General and the United States Food and Drug Administration Office of Criminal Investigations.

KEEP THE BIKERNET BAD JOKE LIBRARY WIDE OPEN–
A while back, when I was considerably younger, I picked up a lovely date at her parents’ home.

I’d scraped together some money to take her to a fancy restaurant.

She ordered the most expensive items on the menu. Shrimp cocktail, Lobster Patron and Champagne.

I asked her, “Does your mother feed you like that when you eat at home?”

“No,” she replied. “but my mother’s not expecting a blow job and a piece of ass tonight.”

I said “Would you care for dessert?”

Most of you probably remember Scott’s 2017 Sturgis painting, “The Riding’s on the Wall”. When this piece came out, it was like a feeding frenzy to collect it.

Everyone was in awe over its nostalgia that it sold out in FIVE days!

Due to popular demand, we’ve come out with a Tin Sign just in time for Summer!

Here’s Scott signing the first Tin fresh out of the box!

RIDING FOR WARRIORS 4th ANNUAL MOTORCYCLE RIDE RAISES MORE THAN $30,000 DOLLARS FOR HOPE FOR THE WARRIORS–
Air Force and Army veterans raises money to support A Warrior’s Wish program for wounded veterans

Photo Caption: (Left to Right): Michael Nehlsen and Jeff Molesko at No Man Left Behind statue at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina.

The fourth annual Riding For Warriors recently wrapped its 17-day motorcycle journey raising more than $30,000 for Hope For The Warriors and its A Warrior’s Wish program.

Celebrating 11 years of service, Hope For The Warriors is a national nonprofit dedicated to restoring a sense of self, family, and hope for veterans, service members and military families.

Through its first established program, A Warrior’s Wish, Hope For The Warriors fulfills a desire for a better quality-of-life or supports a quest for gratifying endeavors for those who have sustained physical and psychological wounds in the line of duty.

For the fourth year, the ride was led by Air Force veteran Michael Nehlsen and sponsored by Union, New Jersey-based Hillmann Consulting. Joining Nehlsen again this year on the more than 4,500 mile trip was New Jersey-native and Army veteran, Jeff Molesko.

On Memorial day, the duo made a special stop in Fort Smith, Arkansas at the Fort Smith Cemetery to read the names of those killed in action submitted by ride supporters, Hope For The Warriors staff and prior A Warrior’s Wish recipients.

While in North Carolina, the veterans visited Hope For The Warriors staff at Camp Lejeune and toured the Wounded Warrior Battalion East. In addition, they visited the No Man Left Behind statue to honor those who have served and those that continue to do so by reading names submitted by ride supporters, Hope For The Warriors staff and prior A Warrior’s Wish recipients.

“Over the past four years, Riding For Warriors has been incredibly important to me both personally and professionally,” said Nehlsen. “It has given me, and Hillmann Consulting, the opportunity to be part of the Hope For The Warriors family while making a meaningful contribution to the A Warrior’s Wish program.

“This annual ride has become our way of us saying ‘thank you’ to veterans and honoring the price they have paid for our freedom. I often think of the No Man Left Behind statute and I can only hope that the veterans we have helped through Riding For Warriors know that their service to our country has not gone unnoticed and is greatly appreciated,” added Nehlsen.

In four years, Nehlsen’s annual ride has raised more than $120,000 for A Warrior’s Wish providing wounded veterans with woodworking and farm equipment, family trips, a saw mill, a horse trailer, a bass boat, two road bicycles and more.

“You can always count on veterans continuing to serve their fellow veterans and that’s just what Mike and Jeff continue to do year-after-year,” said Robin Kelleher, co-founder and president of Hope For The Warriors. “They truly understand the sacrifice and service of those who serve in the United States military and believe in the A Warrior’s Wish program and its mission to fulfill wishes for those who have sustained physical and psychological wounds in the line of duty.”

Key sponsors for the Ride For Warriors include: Sal DiLorenzo and Bill Nelson in memory of his fallen fellow Vietnam infantryman John F. Ward.

Run For The Warriors has captured the hearts of more than 23,500 since 2010. For more information, visit hopeforthewarriors.org.

THAT’S NOT ALL—Tomorrow we will launch a new SmokeOut 19 report. Then I will surprise Cantina members with the latest Bandit’s Cantina Episode.

We have a couple of cool Bike Features headed your way and a history piece from Tim Remus on Triumphs.

I bought this leather tank bra from Mil Blair. It’s from the ‘20s in Europe. It’s emblazoned with rally badges and awards. Dr. Hamster looked down at them and discovered most were within 20 miles of his home in Germany. Amazing.

Mil is still selling his 1950 Panhead, which was featured on the cover of the Saturday Evening Post in 1951. It’s an amazing bike. Drop me a line if you’re a serious buyer.

Now, I must dive back into the shop and fire up the welders. I’ve got shit to do.

Ride Free forever,

–Bandit
