SPSWHITESIDE
Sucker Punch bike of the week.

Hey,

The Vibe this week is positive, no negative waves. I spoke to Ken at Kendon Trailers. He’s excited about 2010. The orders are flowing in. In fact Bikernet is ordering a 3-bike trailer to haul our Bonneville and show bikes to events.

Bonnebelleorig
Here’s a shot of the original Bonne Bell. The original frame is now for sale.

I spoke to Ron at Paughco and he’s pumped up about his Sportster line of products and the rigid frames he’s been building for 35 years. Anyone can buy a wrecked Sportster cheap and drop it into a Paughco rigid. Makes for a very cool, low-buck chop. He recently dropped a Sportster engine into one of his new single loop 45 frames and it worked like a champ. He’s also excited about the trike market and is building trike rear ends for big twins and Sportsters.

Bonnebellepaughco frame
Here’s the new single loop frame from Paughco. It allows us to intall and 4 or 5-speed transmission. That made all the difference in the world.

Here’s a shot of the new Paughco frame for the Bonne Belle, our entry into the Bonneville running for 2010. The bike is being built by the gang at Departure Bike Works in Richmond, Virginia. Hang on for lots of reports next week. Let’s hit the news:

ART OF THE CHOPPER BIKE READY TO ROCK & ROLL–A great chopper is not built, it?s created. It begins as the seed of an idea germinating in the mind of its creator. Bit by bit, the builder brings the machine to life? This essence and purity is what Tom Zimberoff captured in his first book, Art of the Chopper published by Motorbooks Int?l in 2003. Zimberoff?s engaging text provides an in-depth analysis of the each designer?s philosophy and unique style.

This chopper is the reincarnation of Tom Zimberoff?s original ?Art Of The Chopper? bike. The original bike was mint green, swoopy and not quite road worthy.

The Brass Balls team was tasked with the challenge of making Tom?s sled cool, ride-able and keeping as many of the existing components as possible. This Chopper is ready for ignition… Get your motor running at Brass Balls Bobbers

Easyridersshows2010poster
Don’t miss the Sacramento show this weekend.

EASYRIDERS POMONA SHOW REPORT FROM THE BOSS– 2008-09 were disappointing as far as the number of new builds is concerned. There were a lot of new builds this year. That’s great news.

Attendance was what we expected about par with last year. The vendors reports were much better than 08-09. Another good sign.

Our local partners and sponsors really stepped up this year, I am extremely grateful for all of the help we received this year. It really is motivating when the local business steps up and gets involved with the success of an event.

It’s off to Sacramento for our next Show. Sac has never let us down. The bikes are spectacular in that region. It is one show I really look forward to every year.

Oh BTW this is my 20th year on the road with Easyriders. It’s been a trip.

BLACK IS THE NEW CHROME– Billet Mirrors – The mirror housing is anodized black and the mirror itself is glass, not a plastic. Aeromach only uses glass because it glass has the best optical properties.

The Optical Secret ? The reason an Aeromach mirror is desirable is because of the billet. The density of the aluminum is much higher than the cast stock mirrors from Harley or other accessory suppliers. This metal density combined with glass optics instead of plastic increases the clarity of the mirror by as much as 40% over stock.

The Aeromach mirrors and stems are manufactured in NASCAR country right outside of Charlotte, NC using aircraft quality solid billet extruded T6 aluminum. When the CNC machine isn?t carving up 200 MPH go fast parts, its delivering consistent design and quality motorcycle mirrors, stems and grips.

D&D’S VROD FAT CAT PUMPS OUT THE POWER– This just in from the Johnny Humble the Bikernet Texas V-Rod Correspondent. The sound the bike makes with the D&D Fat Cat pipe is reminiscent of a Screaming Eagle Destroyer, or V-Rod racer associated with the track. At low rpm’s, below 2500, the engine hums in a low rumble.

As the throttle is pulled, the pipe comes alive with a roar of pleasure. The 1130cc bike pulls 115 to 117 RWHP using the D&D Fatcat combined with a high-flow air cleaner and Stage 1 download. For more information log on to D&D Exhaust.com.

BIKERNET INSURANCE WEEKLY SEMINAR–Quite frankly, bikers have a lot of options when it comes to purchasing insurance to protect themselves and their machines. Seems like there’s a “quick quoter” everywhere on the web. BUT, are you really getting good motorcycle insurance?

“Good Insurance” as we, at the Bikernet Insurance Center define it, must include the following:
1. Insurance coverage that addresses and meets your specific protection needs.
2. Adequate coverage limits that actually protect you, yours, your bike and others.
3. A price you can afford to pay.
4. An insurance company who treats you right should all hell break loose. (aka: an accident/claim)

Insurancemarc
Our Bikernet Insurance agent, Marc B. He’s cool.

Items to consider as you venture into the “wild & crazy” world of motorcycle insurance.
1. Motorcycle – Older, basic, motorcycles will cost you less to insure. Go fancy and flashy custom and it will cost you more.
2. Age – If you are new to riding it will cost you more than us ol’ Bros and Babes. Experience is a key rating factor.
3. Address – Sometimes, where you live greatly influences your premium level. Live in a high crime area? Sorry, the insurance company will likely charge more.
4. Driving Record – “All” accidents count. Crashed your car. Counts. Crashed your truck. Counts. The cleaner your driving record the less you’ll pay for motorcycle insurance.
5. Job – if you have one these days? Where you drive and park your bike matters to your rate. On the street in the open during your work day and you’ll pay more.
6. Security – Batten down the locks and secure your motorcycle when parked. Keep it garaged, alarm it and you may get additional discounts.
7. Miles per year – seems most applicants for motorcycle insurance drive less than 2,000 miles per year. Low mileage and pleasure use will cost you less.
8. Training – Take a course and obtain the certification certificate. Many insurers offer a discount for safety training.

Go ahead. Contact the Bikernet Insurance Center for your insurance.
1. You’ll get straight-forward, no bullcrap insurance know-how and advice.
2. The best combination of coverage and price for you and your bike(s).
3. We’ll always treat you with respect. You are not just a “policy number” with us.

So send us an email at clientservice@bikernet-insurance.com or call toll free 888-467-8703 and one of our biker agents will contact you asap.

HEDGE FUND EXECUTIVE TURNED PRODUCER OF NEW iTV SHOW ABOUT WOMEN MOTORCYCLISTS–Mountainside, NJ (January 12, 2010) ? HeelsonWheels.tv , the internet TV (?iTV?) show geared toward promoting motorcycling and women debuted its first episode on December 18, 2009. The iTV site was founded by Charles (Chuck) Pirao and wife Sandra (who rides her own Big V-Twin), with the objective of bringing awareness about motorcycling to the women?s community ? regarded as the market segment with the greatest growth potential for the motorcycle industry.

Chuck was the Chief Operating Officer of Deutsche Bank?s Fund of Hedge Funds group (DB Investment Managers, Inc.) until February 2009, at which point he was displaced on account of the financial crisis that erupted in mid 2008. Another example of Wall Street turnover, and when combined with high unemployment executives are often faced with putting their entrepreneurship skills to the test.

Heels on Wheels TV is not your ordinary show catering to women. The novelty concept begins with a show hosted by three friends with careers in Big Pharma, Banking and Legal ? that ride motorcycles with a passion! The Show, scheduled to publish its third episode next week, maintains a level of humor and entertainment in order to convey to viewers a relaxed setting, whereby making it approachable and accessible to entry-level female motorcyclists, as well as creating a bonding experience with the more seasoned female riders.

Commenting on today?s news, the founders said ?This concept was the furthest thing from our minds as recent as six months ago, but today we are excited about the opportunity to do something we are passionate about. We hope to embrace this mega-trend over the next decade, as iTV quickly gains momentum as the future tipping point for digital media?.

Starting your own venture may not be as easy as it appears. The founder admits to having spent many long, although productive days, and many sleepless nights ? dealing with post-production, troubleshooting technology issues, and marketing the new iTV show. ?It has been a steep learning curve, but the knowledge I?ve gained is immeasurable and the sense of accomplishment is even greater!?, claims Chuck as he and the show hosts prepare for the NYC International Motorcycle Show on January 22nd, and coordinate a charity event for May 23rd.
