2006 PM Contrast Cut Judge2

RSD “Contrast Cut” JUDGE WHEELS–Who the hell is RSD and What the heck is a “Contrast Cut” wheel? Well, RSD is none other then Roland Sands Design, the designer behind PM’s wheels. He’s taken some of the work he’s done for PM and given it his own twist.

Roland tells us, they achieve this look by polishing and black anodizing the wheel prior to cutting the shape into it and then leaving the newly exposed aluminum in its raw state. The effect is a stunning contrast between natural metal and the smooth finish of the black ano, and an aptly named wheel.

For now, PM and RSD are only doing this unique finish on the Judge design (brand new for 2006), but already have matching black anodized pulleys, discs and sprockets.

Contact Performance Machine or your local PM dealer for more information.

MORE ON CALIFORNIA HELMET LAW UNCONSTITUTIONAL–After years of hard work and numerous court appearances, word comes to me today that last Friday, Quigley got a favorable ruling in his helmet case. This case was in Superior Court for Santa Cruz County. The DA did not object, but only asked if there would be an injunction issued. Judge Barton stated that he would make his formal ruling in writing on June 23rd, as to the injunction. What this means is Santa Cruz County found the California helmet law unconstitutional. Quig told me people are out already riding without helmets and he does not know of any tickets issued.

This does not take out the law statewide, but certainly, anyone with a ticket elsewhere can use the Santa Cruz ruling in argument. Hopefully, the judge will issue the injunction on the 23rd, and Quig feels confident that will happen. In court with Quig were four other BOLT members, who have stood by him large and strong, when no others would. No compromise in his heart, Quig actually spoke in opposition of ABATE’s repeal bill, since it conceded too many things and did not include everyone, but only 21 and over and other restrictions.

Great work. If this finalizes on the 23rd, many in the rights community owe Quig a great deal gratitude, and some need to explain some of their actions. This would be a wonderful victory for Quig, whose time is limited on this planet. Just wanted you guys to be the first to know.

Let’s hold our breath and hope the judge doesn’t change his ruling by the 23rd. I’ll be in New York, but I’m sure there will be a media blitz if this happens.

AVON TYRE QUESTION OF THE WEEK–Rain grooves and bridge grates.Have you ever experienced that heart-in-throat moment when faced with crossing a steel grated bridge. To top it all off it’s raining and dark. For most motorcyclists this is the moment of truth when you find out just how brave you really are. Experiencing your bike doing theWatussi as it weaves and wobbles across is enough to check into a box of Depends. Fortunately, there is a cure.

When buying tires avoid a tire with a center groove(s). This type of tire will lock onto bridge grates or rain grooves like white on rice giving you a miserable ride. Find a tire with an interrupted center groove or zigzag groove (see photos). Avon’s Venom is the perfect tire for riding over these surfaces with not a care in the world. The front tire features an interrupted center groove and the rear has no center groove, allowing carefree handling in these types of situations. Get out of the groove and into a set of Avons.

CARLOS ORTA COMES TO BIKERNET–My name is Carlos Orta a Custom Bike Builder/Artist from Miami Florida. I am writing to introduce my work to you in the hopes that you may find it interesting enough to publish. I am quite sure that you have seen your share of custom motorcycles but I can definitely assure you that you have never seen anything like the Black Rose.

Please be advised for your information that every bit of the custom fabrication was done by me as I must have full control of the creation in order for it to come out to my satisfaction. Also, please be aware that all the custom leather pieces on the Rose except for the seat ARE NOT LEATHER, they are in fact aluminum sculpted pieces made to look like leather. I have tried to put as much detail as possible on the leather/aluminum parts such as the corset, tag mount, pipe heat shields and head covers by crafting in the texture and even the stitching for a realistic look.

The Rose has many unique parts from the stainless steel oil tank with its protruding spout to the stainless steel one of its kind brake and clutch levers which extend to 16″ which are complimented by the stainless steel and brass Victorian style oil cup brake master cylinder design.

Another very unique part of the bike is it’s saddle inspired by the Mongolian riding saddles and adorned with a pierced phallus riding horn and pierced tongue rear section.

I would really appreciate you taking the time to visit my web page http://www.ortamotorcycles.com/ and entering the Art Gallery through the Main Menu to view her. Please scroll over the thumbnails then click on a picture. When you click a thumbnail the description of the part will appear in the frame the model is holding along with a link to enlarge the photo to get a more detailed look.

FEAR ITSELF TO JOIN ALICE IN CHAINS, NUGENT, KID ROCK, OTHERS AT BUFFALO CHIP FOR 2006 STURGIS MOTORCYCLE RALLY– Fear Itself’s new album due out a month before half a million bikers and fans descend upon Sturgis to hear hard rock’s top stars

May 26, 2006 Pittsburgh, PA Fear Itself will join hard rock’s great bands, including Alice in Chains, Ted Nugent, Kid Rock, Alice Cooper, Buckcherry, George Thorogood, Billy Idol, and others at the Buffalo Chip campground at the 2006 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Over 500,000 people have attended the Rally in 2005, making it one of the largest outdoor music events in the world. The event is estimated to draw 600,000 fans this year. Fear Itself is tentatively scheduled to play seven shows throughout the week starting on Friday, August 4th.

Fear Itself, a Pittsburgh-based heavy rock band, found prominence in 2004 with its first EP, White Spider, and with a 2005 tour of Pittsburgh and surrounding areas to promote said CD. Gero von Dehn, the founder, guitarist, and lead singer of Fear Itself, saw his popularity skyrocket with the band’s Seattle premier at the Layne Staley Tribute concert at the Showbox in Seattle. One thousand fans saw Fear Itself slash into the northwest music scene. Fear Itself completed its 2005 season at the famed CBGBs in New York City for MEANYfest. von Dehn is flanked by guitarist Giac Cardello, bassist Tom Caste, and drummer Lyle Clevenger.

Mike Ference of Pittsburgh’s Front Weekly observed that “(Fear Itself’s) roots include 80s hard rock and heavy metal with and a dash of 90s hard rock and grunge thrown in for good measure.” The Volcano of Seattle declares that “?the night will be owned by Fear Itself, who dispense metal flavored rock reminiscent of Alice In Chains.”
