So, getting in the last rides of 2019, tried the Gator Skin liners this morning, about the same temps as yesterday maybe 2 degrees cooler 36/37?
The GS liners would not fit in my newer L sized gloves, needed to be XL. So, I used them with my 40+ year old Harley-Davidson gauntlet gloves. They’ve been wet so many times they are not very effective, my hands actually hurt for 10 minutes after stopping this morning. Can’t blame the Gator Skins since it wasn’t an apples to apples comparison. Harley liners didn’t do much, with the newer gloves either. Retiring the Harley-Davidson gauntlets with 2019!
So now do I bite the bullet and go heated $285.00, (gloves, controller and extra cord) or try some newer goatskin for $60-90.00 from H-D or aftermarket? We don’t have a lot of winter, but I like to be able to hold on to the handlebars!
I do like the balaclava, especially keeping my throat warm as opposed to the leather snap wraps. Problem is my clear glasses don’t fit under it, small pointed stems kept catching, haven’t tried my KDs with it yet.
Think I’m voting for heated gloves
Also, what mount are y’all using on Frank’s tach on the FXR? I need a tach and regretting not ordering 1 1/4” bars now, which would look a lot better with the 49mm front end.
