BIKERNET SMOKING SUNDAY POST–DANIEL DEYARMIN MEMORIAL BENEFIT RUN, RAT ROCKET BY KNOCK OUT, RUSSELL MITCHELL IN SWEDEN, SCOTT LONG REALITY SHOW AND MORE…

easter

Hey, Happy Easter I’m late. It’s another beautiful day in Paradise, but we faced a mid morning calamity, and nearly burnt the building down. We’ve faced power surges, hackers and now this, and it’s only March.

Girl bike
Don’t ask me?

The power surge cause by the DWP may have damaged a main fuse in the original 1925 Buss circuit breaker. That neutral wire fuse is not long used. If it blows the circuit is loaded with 220 volts. That’s what happened this morning and circuit breakers and a television in the front of the Bikernet Intergalatic headquarters started to smoke, then catch on fire.

Simon
Agent Zebra sent this without any info. Apparently Simon had something to do with it. I want to see more.

The DWP guys raced to our rescue and by-passed the fuse with a ground so it will never happen again. But we need to replace that old original box in the near future. I’m calm now, although Sin Wu is packing her shit. She can’t handle the pressure. Let’s hit the news:

SCOTT LONG BUILDING A NEW BIKER REALITY SHOW– Shmuel Thaler/Sentinel Scott Long accepts the assignment from the cable television show… An “American Idol-esque” version of building custom choppers has made a Santa Cruz cycle shop the star of an upcoming episode.

Filming started Wednesday and continues today at Central Coast Cycles on Commercial Way for a contest to assemble sleek, fast and colorful machines — something shop owner Scott Long perfected a long time ago.

Long, a motorcycle nut since age 5 who is recognized in the industry as a top bike builder, will show off by constructing a retro-style “bobber” bike for “The Chopper Challenge,” which airs on Country Music Television beginning May 14.

He’s one of nine motorcycle builders from across the state and Phoenix, Ariz. chosen to participate in the reality bike-building show.

“Riding a motorcycle is like getting tattoos,” Long, 48, said. “It’s a little addictive.”

All the bike parts, including the frame, motor, transmission and wheels, were provided by the show’s producer, V Entertainment Group of Beverly Hills.

He said he’ll design his own set of wheels, gas tank and fenders from scratch.

Long is tasked with creating a motorcycle that can be used as a promotional tool for the upcoming “Incredible Hulk” movie starring Edward Norton. Long’s bike-building episode will also appear as one of the bonus features on the movie’s DVD.

BOX OF ROSES FROM BIKERNET– Went to the Post Office yesterday. Had a little yellow slip telling me a package too large for my mailbox had to be picked up at the post office box(window).

The lady closed her box (heh-heh) just as I came up. Just my luck.

Went again today and she handed me a large brown box. Return address was Bikernet.

Looked like a box of roses. I could use some roses to spiffy up the casa.

My first guess as to the contents was roses from El Bandido. Nah, couldn?t be.

Got home and tore it open ta see what the fuck was sent. I hadn?t ordered anything so whatdafuck?

In it was a buncha fanfuckintastic stuff worth gold. Shit! It was gold.

Better than gold to me anyway.

First, before I tell you what was in it let me tell ya it was worth $ 3,540.94. Not including the $8.04 postage Bikernet paid ta send it to ME!

In the box were posters. I am going to put these up in my bike garage. If I was married (Listen up ladies! I am divorced), the wife would definitely blow me a shitstorm of grief to take them down that would certainly lead to divorce. This saved me a lotta aggravation and anger and also saved me about three grand ($3000.oo) for a lawyer to divorce the now ex Mrs. Gootie.

Also in the box was a magazine. I just had spinal injections yesterday for pain from something called spondiolisomething. Worth $3.99 clams and it gave me awesome reading while laying down recovering.

Also in the box were two books. Orwell and Biker Code. The reading time will be worth a helluvalotmore than the $26.95 price on the covers. Worth in actuality-Priceless! Since I am down from this spinal injection procedure crap for a few days, let?s place a value on it of about $500.oo clams.

In the box was a black Tee shirt. Don?t know how the Bandit crew knew my favorite color (black) (and size) but it did touch my heart and almost produced a tear. Value? Well I?d say about twenty bucks.

In the box were a few outfuckinstandin stickers. Value? I?d say about ten clams more or less.

Why the fuck am I wasting your time and mine on this??????????????????

Cuz I sincerely appreciate this gift box. It came at a time that I am down for a few days. Worried as hell about if I am gonna have to have spinal fusion surgery and if I will be able to work anymore. Doctor said that these spinal injections may help for some time and might help keep me from having the final spinal bone fusion for a couple of years or more if it works.

So I went for it and receiving this gift box came at a somewhat down time when I am dying to jam on my scoot but have to heal up for a few days before I even consider getting on my bike.

This stuff will help pass the time lying in bed a few days drinking beer and whiskey and eating pain killers like candy.

I guess this is just my way of saying thanks to Bandit and his crew.

Perfect timing amigos,

Now where?s the roses?

EASYRIDER PRODUCER KILLS HIMSELF– The associate producer of Easy Rider – still seen by many as the ultimate road movie – has died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, authorities say. Bill Hayward, 66, shot himself in the heart with a handgun in Castaic, California on March 9, county coroner’s spokesman Craig Harvey said. The suicide occurred in a trailer where Hayward was living.

Hayward has already been cremated and a memorial service was planned for April, said his friend Toby Rafelson.

“He was a wonderful man and this is a great tragedy for our family,” Easy Rider director and star Dennis Hopper said in a statement. Hopper was married and had a daughter with Hayward’s sister, Brooke, in the 1960s.

Hayward was born on March 27, 1941, the son of theatrical agent Leland Hayward and actress Margaret Sullavan, whose family is as famous for its tragedy and torment as its filmmaking.

Sullavan, who starred in the film The Shop Around the Corner and also had been married to Henry Fonda and director William Wyler, died of a drug overdose. Her daughter Bridget died of an overdose just eight months later.

Bill Hayward and his sister Brooke, a model and later an actress, both were sent to ritzy boarding schools and to equally pricey mental institutions in their teen years.

The family’s troubles were chronicled in Brooke Hayward’s best-selling 1977 memoir Haywire, which became a 1980 TV movie that Bill Hayward produced. The book discusses Bill and Brooke Hayward’s belief that their mother and sister may have killed themselves, and Bill Hayward shared his thoughts on suicide.

“It would be more of a challenge not to do it,” he said. “Since it seems to run in the family. It’s like trying to beat the system. There must be something inherently weird. The family drops like flies.”

Hayward collaborated with Peter Fonda and Hopper on Easy Rider, the groundbreaking countercultural 1969 biker pic, and worked largely as an entertainment lawyer after that, with only occasional producing credits. He was at one point married to the British-born actress Fiona Lewis.
