RALLY IN THE ROCKIES UPDATE–For fourteen years the Four Corners Rally has been taking place in the Durango/Ignacio area. Although it has gone through some growing pains, the past few years have been a huge success. Riders from all over the U.S. come to this little corner of the world because of the unequaled riding. With mountains, waterfalls, wildlife, mountain lakes, mining towns and great weather this has become an extremely popular rally for not only bikers in the nearby four states, but also Californians and Texans who wish to escape the heat.

This year over 100,000 are expected to hit the Four Corners. This is also one of the last big rallies put on by bikers for bikers.

To keep up with more bikers this year the organizers have put together a full list of events to cover four days. Concerts this year will feature the Guess Who playing Saturday night, Super Tribute Shows featuring the sounds of Led Zeppelin, AC/DC and Lynyrd Skynyrd the other three nights, plus great local and regional talents performing daily. A $10,000 cash purse is the prize for the Cruising for Cash Run held during the Rally.

Two custom motorcycles are to be given away; a one of a kind custom chopper built by Wicked Brothers out of Phoenix and a one of a kind custom Harley V-Rod. Other entertainment will include Pro Male/Female Wrestling, Pineapple Pit Wrestling, the Hollywood Knockouts, Go Go Cage Dancing, Karaoke Contests, Beer Tents, Biker Bull Busting, Arm Wrestling and Tattoo Contest. The ever popular Biker Rodeo will again be held Saturday at the grounds. Over 300 vendors will be spread out from the rally grounds in Ignacio to Durango.

Make your plans early. Tickets and rooms will no doubt sell out this year. You can check on rooms by calling 866-to-rally, or check out the official website http://www.rallyintherockies.com or call 888-901-7701 for information.

I forgot to introduce Johanna. Another fine shot from Sam.

THAT’S A GODDAMN WRAP–As usual, Nyla, Sin, Layla and Coral did ahelluva job with the news. Sure I tossed my hat in the ring, but they pulledit together. In fact, I’m currently sequestered in the HOT BIKE offices inPlacentia, California some 28 miles from the Bikernet Headquarters. I told’em 30 miles and they could shove the job. I’m reading flats for the JulyIssue, which will ship off to the printer on Monday and fly to subscribersand cross-country newsstands the middle of May. Makes no sense to me.

This issue is slammed with Hot articles on 155-inch R&R engines,a hottie who airbrushed Agent Zebra’s leather and the very first productionAmerican motorcycle–1900. With the help of Susan Buck, we launched ourfirst-ever Laconia event Survival Guide. She did a helluva job. There’s morehot tech and features than ever before. Ah, but I’ve got an axe to grind.Check it out for yourself.

Tomorrow I jump a jet for Las Vegas and the awards ceremony for the 2005Discovery Channel Biker Build-Off finale at the Hard Rock. I watched Arlenand Roland Sands battle on the shores of Jose’s island, also known as PuertoRico, the other night. Looked like a good time. Saturday morning I’ll flyback to LA to work on my Sturgis Shovel chop. I’ll try to bring you anupdate on Sunday. It will also be featured in the August issue of Hot Bike.I need to wrap that sucker up for the September Pre-Sturgis issue.

Have a helluva weekend.

Ride Forever,

–Bandit
