I know summertime is the time to ride not read, but try to make an exception for Maximum Control: Mastering Your Heavyweight Bike.
At 159 pages Maximum Control is full of advice and drills for riding your big bike. There are also beautiful full color photographs of motorcycles in action doing said drills and also candid shots of bikers making mistakes while riding. For your viewing pleasure there are some really eye-opening shots of bikes, on and over the edge of control, from the first hint of sparks under the frame to high-side dismounts.
The authors do a great job of discussing and showing good riding techniques in action. The Riding Drills are something that could be incorporated into your riding routine. I always feel a little better if I can do a couple of sharp U-turns in the morning before we head out for a ride, especially if someone is watching and saying, “What is that fool doing now?” I feel that anyone from a novice rider to a seasoned pro can always learn more about control and riding your motorcycle. This is a great book to add to your library.
