SAM MORGAN – FAMOUS RACER/WALL OF DEATH RIDER —Boss,I just spoke with WPB Criminal who found her at her trailer. She was evidently trying to move a bike by herself and fell under it, where it trapped her…for days. A freak accident. She has chronic back problems that prevented her from lifting it.

My bro Dennis the Menace is devastated. I did not know her well.I knew OF her, as we all did. I will contact Chris and let him know this as well.

AMDhelmet

ROCKHARD Helmets is a new brand of motorcycle helmet being exclusively distributed by O’Neal–Each helmet design available in the range features exclusive graphics personally approved by international rock bands, and produced in strictly limited numbers to ensure exclusivity. Each helmet is numbered and comes with its own certificate of authenticity. The initial range of helmets feature AC/DC, Hustler, KISS, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Slayer.Helmets are available in three different styles: full-face street, off-road MX dirt and half-helmet street. In addition, each design of helmet has passed the international safety standards for the countries they will be on sale in. The standards include DOT, SNELL, Australia, EU, Japan and ECE.

The full-face street features an advanced composite fiberglass/ Kevlar/carbon/Spectracore, which is claimed to create a strong, light, energy-absorbent and impact-resistant design. Multiple adjustable vents allow for customizable airflow, with the shell’s design creating a vacuum effect, drawing hot air away from the head. A clear 2mm molded Polycarbonate Uni-Curve flat race face shield is fitted as standard and tinted and colored face shields are available separately.

An advanced composite shell is used in the construction of the dirt helmet and it has rear vents, which are claimed to improve aerodynamics and venting. The washable liner is removable for ease of cleaning and care.

The DOT approved half shell has a fiberglass shell and a three-snap visor. The graphics used on the helmets are exclusively licensed worldwide and are only available from Rockhard Helmets. Limited edition graphics will be introduced a few times per year.

Hupy and Abraham, S.C. and Northeast Region A.B.A.T.E. of Illinois work together to fight biker discrimination– The much anticipated Ironhorse Roundup was scheduled for the first weekend of May, and as many as 30,000 people were expected. That is until the Mayor of Grayslake pulled the permit for the event, based on police intelligence reports. The controversy rages on; was this a safety issue or biker discrimination?

Attorney Pete Naylor, of Hupy and Abraham, S.C. represents the organizer of the event, Mark Khayat, and they are discussing legal options at this time. Meanwhile, Naylor attended and spoke at a special meeting on May 6th in Grayslake, attended by many area bikers including Hupy and Abraham,S.C. client Dave White and Wisconsin BOLT member, Mike Greenwald. Below is a Google News Alert link to the article on the special meeting. As this story develops, we will keep you posted by email.

MIC TO PERFORM NOISE TESTS– Interested to hear about D & D, I have been waiting and hoping some aftermarket exhaust guys and custom builders would get excited about the scientific roadside test the MIC has developed and is about to unveil to all State Law enforcement with recommendations for stock sound levels only, that hits every pipe maker there is, even the ones that claim they are somewhat quieter, still not as quiet as stock as the MIC will be pushing so where would this leave them, unable to legally sell a product, can anyone recall the sting of the CARB fines.

TICKETS NOW ON SALE FOR 4TH ANNUAL KIDS & CHROME BENEFIT– RAPID CITY, S.D. ? Kids & Chrome Foundation announced this week that tickets are now on sale for the annual Kids & Chrome Benefit Dinner & Auction presented by Budweiser during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

Kids & Chrome, an eclectic mix of fun, food and festivities, is held in the name of enriching the outreach and programs provided by two vital Black Hills non-profit organizations, Children?s Home Society, the ?Kids? in the foundation?s moniker, and Sturgis Motorcycle Museum & Hall of Fame, the ?Chrome?. The 2007 Kids & Chrome event, bringing together over 400 motorcycle enthusiasts, industry professionals and celebrities from the Black Hills community, across the nation and around the globe to ?Rally for a Reason?, raised over $100,000.00 in contributions, gifting $70,000.00 to the Children?s Home Society and $30,000 to the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum.

Kids & Chrome 2008 is slated for Wednesday, August 6th, at the Spearfish Holiday Inn & Convention Center, Spearfish, SD. Featured at this year?s 4th Annual Kids & Chrome, will be ?The Dakota?, a one-off custom bagger, created for Kids & Chrome by Tom Binyon, owner of BaggerWorks Custom Touring Motorcycles in Wichita, Kansas.

Dakota side

Binyon was introduced to Kids & Chrome during the 2007 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and was so impressed that he contacted the Kids & Chrome Foundation to offer to donate his services on the build for 2008. ?The Dakota? was built exclusively with parts and components donated by some of the premier manufacturers in the motorcycle industry. Binyon, along with Ted Sands, Vice President Sales & Marketing for Performance Machine and long-time friend and supporter of Kids & Chrome, and Jim Burgess, co-owner of Black Hills Harley-Davidson and Board President of Kids & Chrome Foundation, championed the donation drive and a generous industry quickly responded.

The one-off custom bagger?s list of components reads like a corporate who?s-who of the motorcycle world. BaggerWorks contributed a custom built frame by Rolling Thunder Frames, a Matt Risley fuel tank, a custom Perse Performance front end, a special Baker 250 RSD (right side drive) transmission, and a detachable front fairing from Kevin Evans, as well as many other components.

Black Hills Harley-Davidson built and contributed a fuel-injected Harley-Davidson 110″ TwinCam “B” engine, as well as many other Harley-Davidson components. Wheels, brake systems, hand controls, and many other components were contributed by Performance Machine from its Contour line. ?The Dakota? also features a Legend Air suspension, provided by Rapid City?s Independent Cycle, a Corbin FLH Bagset and rear fender, a Danny Gray custom embroidered seat, as well as numerous parts and accessories from Arlen Ness, Headwinds, Metzeler and others.

Dakota rear

?The Dakota? will be auctioned to the highest bidder during the Kids & Chrome benefit dinner and auction.

The 2008 Kids & Chrome event is again supported by a generous motorcycle community as well as local and national event sponsors like Budweiser, the Kids & Chrome title sponsor, as well as Black Hills Harley-Davidson, BaggerWorks, the Buffalo Chip, Black Hills Surgery Center, Performance Machine, Lehman Trikes, Baker Drivetrain, State Publishing & Printing and Sturgis Bike Week.

?Kids & Chrome is just a phenomenal event?, said Jim Burgess, President of the Kids & Chrome Foundation Board. ?Our sincere thanks go to our friends from the motorcycling community whose kind and generous support of Kids & Chrome allows us to make these significant contributions to benefit our kids and preserve the history of motorcycling, each of which plays a hugely important role in all of our lives.?

Kids & Chrome invites you to ?Rally for a Reason?. Support Kids & Chrome through sponsorship of the Kids & Chrome event, donation of either a silent or live auction item, purchase of a corporate table or individual tickets for the event, or by simply making a tax deductible donation.

Tickets for the Wednesday, August 6th, Kids & Chrome benefit dinner and auction event can be purchased on-line at kidsandchrome.com, or by contacting Stacey Sharp, Kids & Chrome Event Coordinator, at 605/341-5226 or stacey@thesharpagency.com.
