Hey,

It’s mother’s day and you better be on top of it, or you’re in a lot of trouble. I got a good excuse. I caught a nasty cold on the return trip from Half Moon Bay. So I’ll focus on the Sunday Post while she waits for me to get over the mung.

This week took on the respectful nature for moms. I didn’t receive as vast a gross joke collection. So we’ll be sorta considerate and pack the news with straight bullshit, then hit the barbecue. Ah, but there are a passel of scrumptious girls.

BRASS BALLS BOBBERS COME STANDARD WITH WILWOOD BRAKES– Dar Holdsworth, President of Brass Balls Bobbers, is continuously on the lookout for world-class components to improve the capabilities of their race-inspired Bobbers and Choppers. So it was a no-brainer to add Wilwood Engineering, a NASCAR brake supplier, to the list of upgraded standard equipment.

Wilwood brake kits are engineered to provide superior brake performance and deliver a custom appeal. They not only look good, they stop good too!

?Wilwood delivers outstanding quality and a consistent brake lever. Our customers are really going to enjoy the performance of these new brakes,? said Holdsworth.

From its inception in 1977, Wilwood Engineering has been at the forefront of high performance disc brake technology. As founder and president, Bill Wood?s first brake designs were developed to give stock cars racing on short tracks and super speedways superior braking performance with greater reliability.

Just wanted to let you know that Dain and I are talking about having the IronWorks Brass Balls Bobber Give Away bike at the LA Calender Bike show.

We will be finishing up the Military bike early next week.

Would you be kind enough to run something about the event in the news? It is the “Rock Ride Remember” Rally to support American Veterans. http://www.bransonmotorcyclerally.com/

SALUTE TO AMERICAN MOTORCYCLE RALLY– The Shasta Salute to America Motorcycle Rally will be held from 8:00am Thursday, August 28th ? 11:00am Monday, September 1st 2008 in the Northern California town of Tulelake (pronounced ?too-lee-lake.?) in Siskiyou County ? a paradise for motorcyclists. The Tulelake Chief of Police was recently quoted in the Siskiyou Daily News stating, ?We will welcome these people (bikers) with open arms?? After being forced to move the rally from a town where the opposite stance was taken by the police, how?s that for a switch?

The Shasta Rally?s theme is to honor our nation?s service people & to celebrate our freedom to ride our motorcycles anywhere we want. The AVTT (American Veterans Traveling Tributes) will be displayed at the entrance to the venue where the entire public can pay their respects. The Shasta Salute to America Motorcycle Rally is an adult event. ALL bikes are welcome. You must be 18+ to pay to come inside the venue.

Our bands & event schedule are off the hook! The riding in the region is second to none with Crater Lake on breathtaking Hwy 62 just a 90 minute ride away. Biker bull busting & old school rodeo games along with a corset contest, arm wrestling contest, a ride-in bike show & aOur bands & event schedule are off the hook! The riding in the region is second to none with Crater Lake on breathtaking Hwy 62 just a 90 minute ride away. Biker bull busting & old school rodeo games along with a corset contest, arm wrestling contest, a ride-in bike show & a tattoo contest provides vacationing bikers the fun stuff they enjoy. Prizes & trophies will be awarded. We will also have several top motorcycle builders displaying their art.

On Saturday, the patriotic theme of the Rally will be emphasized. To cap off the patriotic theme of the day, living legend, Charlie Brechtel & the Charlie Brechtel Band & Heidi Newfield, the former lead singer of Trick Pony, will be headlining at the EZJ Concert Field ? a venue that will accommodate 7,000. Between Charlie?s & Heidi?s performances, military veteran speakers will address the crowd including the co-founder of Operation Gratitude, a charity held in the highest regard in the military community. Incredible musicians are scheduled every night. Friday night is 60s night & Wild Child & the Grass Roots are headlining. Sunday, we will be presenting ThunderHerstruck & James Intveld / Choppertown.

Following our headliners? shows, the party can move back in to the Wings2Fly Saloon ? a 12k square ft. indoor biker bar staffed by the hottest lookin friendliest bartenders & cocktail waitresses in the business. We also have awesome bands booked to play in the bar including our high octane ?house band,? National Dust & the So CAL biker blues band, ?Give Me Back My Wig.?

The Shasta Salute to America Motorcycle Rally will not be a slick corporate bike show or a biker boutique taking place in a community that discriminates against bikers. Folks who attend the 2008 rally will be talking about this rally for years to come & telling everyone, ?You shoulda been there!? Don?t miss out. Purchase your tickets now. We offer discounts to groups of 10 or more. To learn more about what is destined to become the premiere true motorcycle rally that always gives bikers their money?s worth & an opportunity to gather as a united community to pay their respects to our nation?s military & celebrate the joy of riding, visit our website @ www.shastasalutetoamerica.com or call 877-688-4229. Watch for the June issue of Thunder Press & ?Lo Down? Dan Parker?s story of the Rally?s evolution.

Spectro

SPECTRO OILS HITS THE SALT FLATS– Spectro Sponsors the BUB Racing Antique Class later this summer in Utah at the infamous Bonneville Salt Flats.

Brookfield, CT? Spectro Oils of America sponsors the antique award this August at the Bonneville Salt Flats. Four years ago BUB Racing, promoters of the BUB Motorcycle Speed Trials, made history by offering motorcyclists an opportunity to attempt land speed records at their own event, one specifically tailored to the needs of motorcycles. Both the F?d?ration Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) and the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) sanctioned the event and participated in the officiating of the World and National Records. An unprecedented 8 world records and 22 national records were set at the premier event.

By the close of the 2007 BUB Racing event, growth and records were the common theme. Event growth has come from a significant increase of participants from countries spanning the globe including; France, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, New Zealand and Australia plus ever-increasing participation by our countries homegrown talent. The total number of entries last year had risen to 384 entrants, and between them, 53 AMA records took their place in the history of speed. ?Spectro Oils is proud to be a sponsor of this epic event. The Flats have become more than a place to set records; the Flats are now the place for industry veterans and new comers to come together. Share our passion for motorcycles in this place unlike any other? said Dave Miller, President, Spectro. ?Whether on the street, track or Flats, Spectro loves the sport and will continue to support worthy events like the BUB Speed Trials? finished Miller. Land Speed Racing is a unique sport, held in a landscape so alien that there are only a handful of places on the planet that are able to provide the conditions needed to attempt these types of records. Bonneville has historically been the proving ground for these machines and through the BUB Motorcycle Speed Trials; the motorcycling industry is able to truly shine on its own. More participants are crossing the bridge from other racing disciplines such as drag racing, speedway and flat track to tackle one of the most historical racing surfaces on earth. What?s more, this unique world of land speed racing is not just limited to those contending for records. This event provides the opportunity for individuals to run their street legal bikes on the salt for that coveted timing slip and to get a little taste of the salt. Spectro Oils and Bub Speed Trials welcome you to see and experience the Flats for yourself. While you?re there, we?re confident you?ll enjoy being part of the fastest motorcycle sport on the planet! Spectro brands are manufactured and marketed by Intercontinental Lubricants Corp. of Brookfield, CT, ILC, one of the world?s foremost manufacturers and packagers of quality lubricants.
