MOTHER’S DAY BANDIT’S CANTINA SUNDAY POST for May 8th, 2016

Hey,

It’s mother’s day and my 93-year-old ma is in the hospital. She’s okay and attended an art class last week. But she’s also 93 and her days are numbered.

I’ve got to haul ass and get over to see her. Don’t forget your moms today or you will be in a world of shit. Let’s hit the news, then hit the road.

FREEDOM LESSON FOR SUNDAY– Social Justice Warriors Target “Big Soda”

A recent attack on “Big Soda” – Michael Bloomberg’s other cause célèbre – at last week’s Berkshire Hathaway shareholder meeting revealed the lengths to which Social Justice Warriors will go to impose their will on consumers and lawful businesses.

Berkshire Hathaway, under the direction of famed investor Warren Buffett, is one of the most successful companies in American history. Among its most profitable investments is a 9% share in Coca-Cola – making it the largest single corporate shareholder in the company.

For the second year in a row, anti-soda activists challenged Warren Buffett over the morality of this investment. In 2015, hedge fund manager Bill Ackman declared that Buffett’s investment in Coca-Cola was “immoral” because soda consumption is linked to obesity and other health problems.

This year, journalist Andrew Ross Sorkin cited a Tufts University study that stated sugary drinks – like Coca-Cola – caused 180,000 deaths a year from diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. “Please explain directly why we Berkshire Hathaway shareholders should be proud to own Coke,” Sorkin demanded.

Fortunately, Warren Buffett – who drinks an average of five cans of Cherry Coke a day – brought the room back to reality by reminding the audience that people have the liberty to make their own decisions. “You have a choice,” he said. “I make a choice to get 700 calories from Coke, I like fudge a lot, too, and peanut brittle and I am a very happy guy.” He went on, “I’ve not seen evidence that convinces me I’ll be more likely to make it to 100 if I suddenly switched to water and broccoli.”

This divestment campaign follows the same game plan that New York Mayor Bill de Blasio, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emmanuel and Bloomberg-supported States United to Prevent Gun Violence have used to strong-arm pension plans into dumping shares in firearm companies.

These are the lengths to which authoritarian-minded activists will go control your lives and scapegoat legal businesses. They will never stop trying to dictate whatever they believe is good for you, and they are so convinced of their self-righteousness that they will never question the validity of their beliefs. Indeed, it is exactly these sorts of crusading zealots that prompted the writer C.S. Lewis’ to caution that “a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive,” because “those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end.”

THE JUDICIARY COMMMITTEE

Senate Judiciary Committee Votes On SB171–The Senate Judiciary Committee heard testimony on the Vulnerable Users Act, SB171 and ap- proved the bill. That was a great day for everyone of the road. But, we can’t stop yet. Our next big push is through the House.

The first thing to do is to contact your Senator and thank him or her for supporting us; if they don’t know how grateful you are, then they may not be so supportive with the Safety Bill HB337 (aka the “Helmet Bill”).

Then contact your House Representative and him ask him or her to support SB171. Keep their names and con- tact information for the vote HB337, which is coming up soon.

Again, if you don’t know your congress Representatives, go to http://www.abateoflouisiana.org/contact-your-congressman.html for contact information.

Remember, SB171, the Vulnerable Road Users Bill is designed to keep all of us safer on the roads. As has happened in the past, when drivers are aware of increased costs associated with bad driving, they generally become better drivers.

This will be great for all of us. Remember, we are not trying to punish bad drivers, we are trying to prevent collisions whenever we can. And we can do this best by encouraging all drivers to watch for others and share the road.

THIS IS BULLSHIT!–

Here are two Firefighters (the people who run into burning buildings to save lives) who have worked their way up through the ranks to supervisor positions.

The fact that they are in motorcycle clubs has nothing to do with their job.
It is obvious the people who wrote this have an ax to grind as they mention. The Department Of Justice for supplying them information and then if you Really Read the complete article you will see – (While not suspected of any criminal activity themselves, firefighter captains in Pasco and Hillsborough counties aren’t just members in their local MC chapters).

So if these people are not suspected of any criminal history Why The Article?
Now if you take any one from an organization, club and or gang that is a law breaker that does not make the organization criminal.

If that were the case the legislature is a gang (see how many break laws and those who do eventually get charged and do not put the fix in are given a slap on the wrist for a sentence) and most certainly law enforcement who violate all kinds of laws including killing people, in some situations for no justifiable reason are rarely arrested and if so just lose their job or some such bullshit.

Why did the person who wrote this not mention the Iron Order Motorcycle Gang – Law Enforcement? They keep coming up in the news for killing motorcycle riders from other organization. According to the news some of them are still employed by city or state organizations.

I did also read that the Iron Order was listed on the ATF List of Motorcycle Gangs. Obviously the source at the Department of Justice failed to mention that or the people who wrote the article left it out.

I-Team: Uncovering the Tampa Bay firefighters who run with criminal motorcycle gangs

Our two-part investigation looks at the implications of crossing these two lines of loyalty.

The Department of Justice officially lists seven major motorcycle gangs (MCs) as “criminal enterprises” nationwide. The Outlaws and Pagans top that list and frequent national headlines with their involvement in drug trafficking, arson?—?and even organized murder.

Both of these notorious MCs have members who live on salaries paid for by the taxpayers of Tampa Bay. While not suspected of any criminal activity themselves, firefighter captains in Pasco and Hillsborough counties aren’t just members in their local MC chapters?—?but serve as recognized leaders.

Meet the Tampa Bay fire captains with ties to criminal MCs

– Muddling the lines of loyalty –

While they may hold brave, commendable jobs by day, these two local fire captains moonlight with MCs that have become infamous for their involvement in organized crime.

Both captains are known to law enforcement as members of these notorious criminal motorcycle gangs, and during our investigation, federal agents expressed public safety concerns due to these risky lines of loyalty.

Buzze is known to law enforcement as the President of the Pagans Pasco County Chapter. He’s also a fire Captain and Paramedic in Pasco County Fire Rescue.
At time of publishing, Buzze was making $79,488 per year with PCFR. He joined the department in 1996.

Buzze has no criminal record, and maintains mostly positive evaluations in his county personnel file.

We obtained a flyer Buzze made on a taxpayer-funded fire station computer (featured above in the video for Part I) promoting an event for his MC. The I-Team confirmed his supervisors only verbally scolded him and never documented it in his file.

Law enforcement know Mr. Costa as the President of the Outlaws St. Petersburg Chapter. Costa is a Fire Captain and EMT for Hillsborough County Fire Rescue. His base salary in the fire department at time of publishing was $87,507 a year. He joined HCFR in 1981.

Before he was hired, Costa served probation for two felony charges (adjudication withheld) for aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and auto burglary.
He’s had a clean criminal record since becoming a firefighter. In his 35 years with the department, Costa’s evaluations have been above average and positive, per county human resource documents.

There is no evidence that either man used information they got from their position to commit any criminal acts.

According to law enforcement, there are two distinct groups within MCs. There is the 99 percent, who believe in following and respecting the law.

Then there are the “1%-ers”?—?who proudly display a patch that signifies an anti-law abiding lifestyle. Tampa’s ATF Agent Keary Hundt says when you’re a 1 percenter, “You consider yourself not subject to society’s rules and laws.”

Agent Hundt investigates criminal motorcycle gangs. He says they are known for all types of crimes, “Drug trafficking, weapons trafficking, extortion, arson, bombings, you name it.”

You can see Pasco firefighter Glen Buzze sporting the “1%” symbol in two places in the above photos?—?one on his shirt and one his necklace.

The Outlaws Motorcycle Club

The Outlaws have more than 1,700 members who belong to 176 chapters in the U.S. and in 12 foreign countries. U.S. law enforcement authorities estimate that the Outlaws have more than 86 chapters in 20 U.S. states with over 700 members.
The Outlaws also identify themselves as the A.O.A. (American Outlaws Association) and the Outlaws Nation. The Outlaws are the dominant MC in the Great Lakes region.
The Outlaws are involved in the production, transportation and distribution of methamphetamine, the transportation and distribution of cocaine, marijuana and, to a lesser extent, ecstasy.

The Outlaws engage in various criminal activities including arson, assault, explosives, extortion, fraud, homicide, intimidation, kidnapping, money laundering, prostitution, robbery, theft and weapons violations.

The Outlaws frequently compete with the Hells Angels for both members and territory.

The Pagans Motorcycle Club

The Pagans are a violent MC whose members distribute cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana and PCP. The Pagans are one of the most prominent MCs in the Mid-Atlantic region.

The Pagans have an estimated 200 to 250 members among 41 chapters in 11 states. The Pagans have been tied to traditional organized crime groups in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and New York and have engaged in criminal activities such as arson, assault, bombing, extortion and murder.

No policy on firefighters joining gangs
– The fire chiefs for both counties react –
During the second part of our investigation, we spoke with the fire chiefs for Pasco and Hillsborough counties on the lack of department policy concerning gang affiliation.

As of our interviews, there were no policies in place preventing gang members from becoming firefighters or vice versa.

Harry “Taco” Bowman
(Former International President of The Outlaws MC)
Following a federal trial in Tampa, Harry “Taco” Bowman was sentenced to life in prison for orchestrating the killing of rival gang members, drug trafficking and fire bombings. The government said Bowman emerged as the top leader in the international Outlaws biker gang during the 1980s and even made the FBI’s most wanted list.

For 20 years, he held absolute power, even ordering executions that were then carried out, according to prosecutors. He’s serving a life sentence at FMC Butner in Butner, NC.

John Fusco

(Pasco Pagans MC member)

Fusco just returned to federal prison (April 26, 2016) after being convicted of buying an illegal handgun. He is serving time in Sumterville, Florida at FCI Coleman Low. According to the ATF, Fusco has 10 prior felony convictions between Florida and New York.

He is the owner and operator of Twisted Metal Auto Body Shop in Port Richey, Florida.

Kenneth Difranco
(Pasco Pagans MC member)

Difranco was known to law enforcement as the Florida “Enforcer” for the Pagan’s MC. He will be released from federal prison in Sumterville, Florida at FCI Coleman Medium on 1/26/2017. He was convicted of being a felon in possession of a gun.

Difranco has seven prior felony convictions (some violent), according to the ATF.

I think a true bike build-off would be in a shop where just one individual is building the bike per team. Everyone is given the same motor, wheels, the very basic heart of the bike.

Everyone has the same tools and the same stock material inventory. This would make a even playing field and the true master craftsmen would be shown.

No high tech cutters, no off the shelf chrome–just skill.

LOVE JUGS TESTIMONIAL–
My name is Scott and I am a Police Sergeant in Las Vegas Nevada. I will start by stating that I am a customer of Love Jugs and this is not a paid endorsement. I did not receive anything from Steve, or his company, for my review of his product. My review will be completely forthcoming and honest, to include the pro’s and cons of this product.

I am a motorcycle enthusiast who has owned several motorcycles over the past ten years. For background purposes I currently own a 2015 Harley-Davidson Street Glide after trading in my 2010 Road Glide. Prior to this I have owned a Honda VTX 1300, and worked with friend who owned Fat City Cycles, which was a custom motorcycle shop primarily flooring Swift Motorcycles.

As part of Fat City Cycles I rode nearly every make and model of Swift bikes made between 2009 and 2012. For the most part these bikes were all air-cooled, S&S motors with Harley five-speed transmissions.

One major issue of riding a motorcycle in Las Vegas is the excessive heat, especially in the summer where outside temperatures often reach 112. With an air-cooled bike this makes keeping the bike from overheating a challenge. I often found myself turning the engine off while at lights, in traffic or at in idle. Unfortunately, the bike does not always turn back on as quick as traffic moves. It was this need that resulted in me researching a way of keeping my bike from overheating. This research ultimately led me to Steve West’s Love Jugs product.

At first I will admit that the name threw me off and I sought out another alternative. However the research continued to bring me back to Love Jugs. Ultimately, it was Steve’s tenaciousness and personal guarantee of my satisfaction that persuaded me to purchase and subsequently test the product.

I purchased the complete kit for my 2015 Street Glide. The kit I purchased was black to match my bike theme. On arrival the parts looked and felt hardy and of good quality. I was happy with the finish of the equipment and took the time to read the instructions and watched the available YouTube videos. The following day I began my install.

The next day I took off on a multi-state, 1500 mile ride. The ride brought me through Nevada, Yosemite National Park, the Redwood Forest, down the coast of California, and ultimately back to Las Vegas. I had the Love Jugs turned on the entire time and exposed it to over 110 degree Vegas heat (about 6 hours); comfortable 70-90 degree heat of Yosemite National Forest; rain through the Redwoods; cool sea air and condensation of the California Coast and back to the heat of Vegas. The Love Jugs did not malfunction at any time. In addition, the Love Jugs did not cause any obvious battery shortages or drain.

Since my main purpose for purchasing the Love Jugs was to help with engine heat, I will take a second to address just this: I was extremely pleased with the Love Jugs performance in the area of heat displacement. I noticeably felt a performance improvement in my bike while stopped in traffic (on the highway) and while stopped for street lights.

My bike has an automatic cylinder shut off, which shuts off one cylinder when the bike gets too hot. With the Love Jugs turned on, my bike never got hot enough to cause this cylinder to turn off. However, when I shut the Love Jugs off for comparison, my bike would heat up quickly and the cylinder shut off would kick on within minutes.

I have since owned and continue to use my Love Jug system. I am pleased with its appearance and have had many other riders comment on its “cool” look. During a local motorcycle rally I met a person who showed me a competitor’s version of Love Jugs. This version looked similar to a second air intake mounted where the horn is mounted. This person told me the unit worked “O.K,” but did not keep his bike from having overheating issues in stop and go traffic or when not moving. Which, however, was why both of us purchased our units. This only validated my decision to purchase the Love Jugs product.

It has been almost 5 months since I purchased and installed my Love Jug. I have had no mechanical, electrical or cosmetic issues and I continue to use it everyday. For purposes of testing, I took the temperature of my bike two different times. Once with the Love Jugs activated and once with it off. On this day the outside temperature was 111 degrees. For the test I used a digital dipstick thermometer. Below was my findings.

I rode my bike for 30 minutes around a specific route. When I reached 30 minutes, I stopped and checked the temperature, which read 294 degrees.

I returned to the same starting point, activated my Love Jugs and drove the exact same route. After 30 minutes I stopped and checked the temperature, which read 207 degrees.

My findings, though a digital dipstick is not the most accurate, is that the Love Jugs did in fact cause a significant drop in overall temperature. It is my belief that the Love Jugs product has lived up to its product performance guarantee. With that said I am a satisfied customer and would/do endorse this product.

Andrews’ Cams in Twin Cam with Late Model Cam Plate

If you didn’t need any “special tools” for this job, then you skipped a very important step !! Tell me how you replaced the inner cam bearings that are pressed in the case. Big mistake not to replace them with upgraded “full complement” inner bearings as opposed to the cheap crap “1/2 the rollers” style that come stock which from an engineering perspective are totally inadequate even with the stock cams let alone any “performance cams”.

FROM THE FXR FILES– I did something crazy yesterday. Two weeks ago we had 2000 FXR4 come into the dealership I work at. Only 13k on the clock, it was in show room condition. It caught my eye as soon as I saw it and took me back to the FXR I owned, my ‘82 Shovelhead FXR.

I tried and tried to get it out of my head. Every time I walked by that bike, I swear it called to me saying, “Come on give me a try, you know you want to!” like a tempting hot redhead, she just would not leave me alone.

I could swear one time it even winked at me? Finally I gave in and took it for a ride, I was hooked, memories of the old ‘82 FXR flashed in my head. I got off work at 11:30pm and blasted into Washington D.C. and surrounding areas, doing things I probably should not have been doing?

So yesterday I pulled the trigger and bought her! I really did not need another bike but to me this bike is part of history and after all you only live once. Right now FXR’S are a hot ticket, and I know I can get my money back if I ever want to sell her, but probably not, this was a once in a life time chance!

After the FXR’s were discontinued the factory decided to bring them back in 1999 and 2000.

Don’t quote me on the ‘99 but from what I remember I think I am right!

So the lesson to be learned from this story is stay away from FXRs and redheads. They will get you everytime.

P.S. Thanks to my wife Vicki for not taking my head off! (she is a redhead!)

Until next time, RIDE!

ROMANIAN HACKER Claims Accessing Clinton Server was ‘Easy’–
Will this be the nail in the coffin for Hillary?

As I wrote last month, the US government has extradited a famous Romanian hacker in an effort to prove without a doubt that Hillary’s insecure homebrew server was hacked by a third party.

The hacker, who goes by the name “Guccifer,” has been involved in numerous high-level security breaches in the past. This time, he stands accused of hacking into Sidney Blumenthal’s email account during Hillary’s time as Secretary of State.

The 44-year-old hacker claims that he hacked into Hilary’s account in 2013. “For me it was easy,” he said. “For me, for everybody.” Guccifer will soon stand trial in Alexandria, Virginia for his cybercrimes, but is aiding the FBI in hopes of reducing his sentence.

This week, Fox News was permitted a few phone calls with the hacker. When asked how many times he accessed Hillary’s server, Guccifer replied, “…like twice. I was not paying attention. For me it was not like the Hillary Clinton server. It was like an email server she and others were using with political voting stuff.”

Guccifer thought the emails dry and boring, finding nothing embarrassing or salacious enough to share.

Despite the fact that the FBI has so far been unable to disprove or confirm Guccifer’s claims, Hillary continues to deny all accusations, saying it is “unfathomable” that Guccifer could have gained access to her account.

“Unfortunately in this community a lot of people make up stories and it’s hard to know what’s really true until you get into the forensics information and get hard facts,” says Bob Gourley, a former chief technology officer for the Defense Intelligence Agency. Gourley believes that Guccifer’s claims are plausible.

“The Blumenthal account gave [Guccifer] a road map to get to the Clinton server…You get a foothold in one system. You get intelligence from that system, and then you start to move,” adds cybersecurity expert Morgan Wright.

Guccifer admits he had to guess the answers to security questions in order to gain access to Blumenthal’s account. He then used that account as a stepping stone to access Hillary’s: “For example, when Sidney Blumenthal got an email, I checked the email pattern from Hillary Clinton, from Colin Powell, from anyone else to find out the originating IP…When they send a letter, the email header is the originating IP usually.”

He then used an “IP scanner” along with other web programs to discover which ports were open and whether the server was “alive.” As Guccifer progressed, he found that he wasn’t alone. “As far as I remember, yes, there were…up to 10, like IPs from other parts of the world.”

Guccifer isn’t a top-notch programmer. He doesn’t have support from a foreign intelligence service. My point here is that if this nut considers it “easy” to break in to Hillary’s private server, it’s all but certain that the Chinese, Russians, and others were reading her emails too.

The former Secretary of State’s secret server held more than 2,000 emails considered “classified” and an additional 22 deemed “TOP SECRET.” If Guccifer is convicted for hacking into Hillary’s email account, we will have proof that she was hacked by a third party – which could mean Hillary is indicted as well.

Editor’s note
: This guy is pretty close to the lowest rung of hackers.

THE EVER-CHALLENGING BIKERNET WEEKLY NEWS for April 28th, 2016

I just read the comments from Rogue and DRJ. I have been involved in a bunch of different types of non and not-for-profit organizations over the years and they all seem to suffer the same problems. Too few people to step-up to do the work, and not enough funding.

Its the same with MRO’s (Motorcycle Rights Organizations) such as the MRF and State MRO’s such as ABATE. If we had just 5% of the people who ride donate $1 a year and just 1 hour of their time, we’d have one hell of a fighting chance against the multi-Billion dollar manufacturers and the EPA.

So if you don’t like the way things are being done then I suggest you show up and put up. Come to the Bikers in the Beltway day May 12 and I’ll see you there, and better yet, bring a few friends.

QUICK A GUN NUT REPORT–
Background Check-Loving Media Gags on Its Own Medicine Thanks to New Obama Directive– The hypocrisy of the anti-gun movement – and its cheerleaders in the press – is so obvious and consistent that it rarely bears special mention.

They claim to support the Second Amendment, but they want to ban guns. They claim to embrace gun safety, but they’re too ignorant and afraid of guns to understand their common use and would rather criticize NRA for training people to safely use and own firearms.

They express outrage at violence in America’s cities, but they don’t want law-abiding urbanites to have the means to protect themselves. They claim to stand with victims of violence, but they denounce attempts to empower the vulnerable as “shaming.” They don’t want you to have a gun, but they want better, braver people than themselves to use guns to protect them.

And yet … they always manage to lower the bar with another mind-numbing double standard. Now, the same media that has kept up a constant drumbeat in support of “universal” background checks as a precondition to exercising Second Amendment rights are portraying background checks as an existential threat to the First Amendment.

According to a Politico article published last month, journalists wanting to attend the Republican and Democratic political conventions this summer will have to submit to a new credentialing process that includes background checks conducted by the Secret Service.

Ironically, the roots of the issue, Politico reports, stem from Presidential Policy Directive 22, an Obama administration decision that apparently gives the Secret Service the task of “access control” to the political conventions. Another report from USA Today indicated that Obama has issued 19 such “policy directives” (PPDs) without disclosing them to the public.

The USA Today article quotes a political scientist and former advisor to Congress as stating PPDs “have the same legal force as an executive order, forming a body of largely secret law.” Nevertheless, executive orders must be published in the Federal Register. “PPDs are not,” the advisor said. “It is a kind of secret law. People have to obey it. But it’s a directive that can allocate money, direct people or take a course of action.”

The media, needless to say, are incensed. A piece in the Daily Beast – using a metaphor that we consider especially amusing – characterizes the Washington press establishment as “up in arms.” That article even suggests that the Secret Service, having been “tarnished” by “aggressive investigative reporting,” may abuse its newly-conferred authority to settle the score.

Journalists cited by the Beast fault the “inscrutable security screening process for which there are no plainly established criteria, and from which there is no appeal,” as well as the idea that government is now exercising discretion over “who can and can’t be a journalist.”

“I don’t think the First Amendment allows that,” one journalist huffs. Concerns have also been raised that arrests arising from what the journalists claim is prior First Amendment activity might be enough to exclude them. Some are even floating the idea of “boycotting” the vetting process for credentials en masse.

Now that big media is feeling the indignity and insecurity of submitting their rights to the whims of an opaque and seemingly arbitrary bureaucratic screening process, we can only say, “Welcome to the club … It serves you right.”

The same media that has failed to stick up for the rights of others who occupy different social and political circles – indeed, that has actively collaborated with the government to degrade the rights of those others – is now getting a taste of its own medicine. They chose kissing up to the Establishment over their professional roles as watchdogs. Now they’re the watched, and they don’t like it.

Dear Washington Press Corps, welcome to the world you helped create. We’ll see you at the convention … if you pass the background check.

GO SEE MOM—I’ve been kicking this around. I’m headed in a direction and I want your input. I could be completely full of shit, but here goes. I’m a biker, a loner. I’ve never been much of a joiner. I’m a Hamster, but I don’t hit the event action like I use to, and I don’t mind. I’ve had guys suggest that we start a bike show, and I pass.

I like to help anyone in our industry from Biker’s Rights, to groups, clubs, businesses, charities and individuals. But I like to do it on an individual basis and I don’t generally care about attending or being recognized. I just like to be low-key but always available to help.

Okay, enough of my ramblings. I’ll touch on it more next week. In the meantime, this week is already a scramble.

I want to jump into the middle of my Biker’s choice tech. I’m going to visit Sugar Bear on Tuesday. I need to do more homework for the city. It changes weekly. I will also reach out to Love Jugs on Monday about a tech, and I’m getting close on a Cantina Episode.

But let’s peel out to see Mom.
