Darwin Motorcycles Wallpaper. Check Them Out…
Hey,
It’s Thursday already and we’ve been cookin’. Our Bikernet research continues regarding the constant media reports on the numbers of deaths in Iraq over 4 years. It’s under 3,000. Yet we’ve dug around and discovered that a 1,000 people are murdered every year in New York city. That would make the total for four years over 4,000. Why doesn’t CNN bitch about that daily?
Get this 16,000 people were murdered in the United States in 2005. Over a four year period that total would be: 64,000. Incredible. Where’s the complaints about police chiefs daily. I don’t get it, but I’m just a lamo biker. Sure, I have my questions about the bit in Iraq, but now we’re there, let’s see it through and support our troops all the way.
Let’s shift gears to the Bikernet Bonneville effort for 2007. The buzz is high. A book company contacted me about publishing a book on our Bikernet 2007 Bonneville effort. But there’s more Bonneville news. I spoke to Joe Teresi, the owner of Easyriders, “There’s a slightly higher that 50/50 chance we’ll return,” he said. Dennis Manning asked me if Easyriders would come back during a recent interview. We’re proud to have Dennis on Bikernet Radio this week. He’s the “Man” with the current 350 mph record. I hope to bring you a tech tip on the engine he spent years designing and developing for Bonneville. That 200 pound, V-4 is now available to the public. Let’s hit the news and then I’ll fill you in on the current Bikernet line-up for the next week:

How do I become a Centerfold Master Builder?
A new Division of Easyriders Bike Shows has been created called the Pro Class. The sole purpose of creating the Pro Class is to select the 2008 Easyriders Centerfold Tour Master Builders. The Pro Class will be separate from the current Spectator and Judged Classes. There will be a Pro Class Division at the first 11 Regional Shows, with Kansas City hosting the Pro Class Finals on May 5, 2007. The Pro Class is open to anyone, with a one-time entry fee of $250.00, per bike, per Regional Show. Pro Class finalists will not be charged additional entry fees to bring their qualifying bike to Kansas City to compete in the Finals. At each of the first 11 Regional Shows, the Editors will choose 3 bikes out of all the entries in the Pro Class, in no particular order (i.e. No 1st, 2nd, 3rd Places), to advance to Kansas City, where six bikes will be chosen out of the field of finalists in the Pro Class Division.
The builders who create the six winning bikes will be named the 2008 Easyriders Centerfold Master Builders.
MRF PAC ANNOUNCES SUPPORT FOR MR. JOHN GARD–MRF PAC recently announced its endorsement of Mr. John Gard, who is running for the 8th Congressional District of Wisconsin. The official announcement sent out by the MRF PAC was subject to a technical problem that prevented the correct version of the release from going out. The result was a release littered with typos. The MRF PAC would like to publicly apologize to Mr. Gard and ABATE of Wisconsin for any confusion or embarrassment this may have caused. I can assure that every safeguard has been installed to ensure that this won?t happen again. Thanks for your understanding and patience.

LOUIS CRIME, DON’T MEET ME THERE–A surge in violence made St. Louis the most dangerous city in the country, leading a trend of violent crimes rising much faster in the Midwest than in the rest of nation, according to an annual list. The city has long fared poorly in the rankings of the safest and most dangerous American cities compiled by Morgan Quitno Press. Violent crime surged nearly 20 percent in St. Louis from 2004 to last year, when the rate of such crimes rose most dramatically in the Midwest, according to FBI figures released in June. “It’s just sad the way this city is,” resident Sam Dawson said. “On the news you hear killings, someone’s been shot.”The ranking, being released Monday, came as the city was still celebrating Friday’s World Series victory at the new Busch Stadium. St. Louis has been spending millions of dollars on urban renewal even as the crime rate climbs.Mayor Francis Slay did not return calls to his office seeking comment Sunday. By CHRISTOPHER LEONARD, ST. LOUIS BLUE DARWIN MOTORCYCLES COMES TO BIKERNET–Hey there. Love the site. I am on it most every week.I am curious to know what it takes to get some web time on you site? My name is Dar Holdsworth. I am the owner of Darwin Motorcycles. We manufacture “Brass Balls Bobbers”. We are working in a joint venture with Sam Wills of Racing Innovations to bring these cool bobbers to the market. Our feature bobber sports an Indian PP 100″ motor. Enclosed are a few pictures. You can also see more at BrassBallsBobbers.com I also would be interested in advertising with you in the near future. –Dar Holdsworth Hey, we enjoy having quality companies come on board. Believe me, we’ll investigate before anyone new is allowed into the Bikernet team. We added a company last year that ripped-off some of our readers. Fortunately Nyla is our industry watchdog. If she suspects a company of stealing products from another company and having them manufactured overseas, we won’t run ’em. We are going to double our rates next year for Sponsor and Banner advertising. It will still be cheap compared to mags, but we’ve held our rates consistent since we had 90,000 readers a month on Bikernet. We now have 250,000 readers and climbing, each month. Besides we want to hire more writers and photographers to contribute and bring you more hot current material. EDITOR OF WOMEN RIDER NOW.COM INTERVIEW ON BUSINESS WEEK–“I wanted to alert you that I am quoted in the Nov. 6 issue of Business Week magazine (with my picture) in an article on Harley-Davidson on page 71,” said Genevieve Schmitt. “The magazine is currently on newsstands.” Bikernet is also working with a college professor who is doing a thesis on writing skills to promote better writing skills for youngsters. We recommended that they interview and work with Genevieve from a woman’s perspective. SPEAKING OF WOMEN RIDERS AND BIKERNET AND BONNEVILLE–VT Race Girl End of the Season Update:Well, I am going into my last race of the season at Las Vegas Motor Speedway Nov 10-13th. Monday, November 13th is our Championship Awards Banquet in Vegas. You are all invited. I must say this has been my most successful season and I am looking forward to 2007 to be even better. I have been on the road living my dream as a racer and a spokes person. Being a World Land Speed Record holder at the Bonneville Salt Flats this year for Bikernet.com has been a wonderful honor and many doors have opened. I am currently in 6th place out of 82 entries in the Super Gas class. In the V-Rod Destroyer, I have moved from 23rd to 14th out of 56 entries just in the past few races. Hacienda Harley-Davidson, Scottsdale, AZ has provided me with a V-ROD rocket. The Destroyer has been getting faster and faster. This is my rookie season, and I have come along ways as a rider. I have learned from the best racers and more is yet to come. These past few months I had the honor of working with Matt Smith NHRA Motorcycle Pro Stock racer from King, NC, Paul & Michael Ray and Mike Lozano from Texas. They have found the horsepower in my bike we didn’t know it had. Along the way I have had a few bumps in the road that set me back (mechanical problems). I went though two transmission failures that destroyed the entire motor. We are now working on a spare motor to avoid these issues, and help us prepare for next season. Many people ask what I do when race season is over. I will continue to work just as hard as I do now. I am working on my 2007 race program. I am going return to the famous Frank Hawley’s Drag Race School taught by George Bryce, put together the 2007 VT Crew, Test-n-Tune with the bike, many public appearances, and continue work on my website. We are currently looking for a larger hauler that will have living quarters in the front and more advertising space for all my great sponsors. I have been working on Valerie Thompson Racing apparel for next year. Along the way I have picked up Neato Manufacturing, they are making disposable cameras with me on them. My biggest project for the end of the year will be getting my 20’ft Race Trailer wrapped with all my wonderful sponsors. If it were not for you, my great sponsors, I would not be VTRaceGirl! I thank you so much and look forward to a great 2007 year! My goals for next year is to join the 200+ mph club, be the fastest girl on two wheels with Bikernet.com and a Harley-Davidson at the Salt Flats, WIN a National Championship, gain one hundred more fans, and get ready for the big time, NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle Racing. To end out the season I was asked to participate in a biker build off for the Discovery Channel. Two custom bike builders will go against each other in battle of the winning drag bike 2007. This is a filmed 10-day event aired on the Discovery Channel in January 2007. They will have two female racers, racing for the win light. The exposure will be unbelievable thanks to Bikernet.com. It has been a long haul going from state to state but I have had a great time and would not change a single thing! I am very excited about where things are headed with my career in drag racing. I have accomplished a lot in a short amount of time! I believe with all my heart I am going to be a success, but success takes time, effort, faith, and determination. I also have to thank the fans and my friends who have encouraged me and stuck by me in these interesting times. Your support truly means a lot to me and I will not let you down. –Valerie Thompson ENVY CYCLE CREATIONS AND STREETWALKER EXHAUST SYSTEMS COME TO BIKERNET.COM–My name is Terry Lee I own Envy Cycle Creations, we manufacture and own Streetwalker Exhaust SystemsWe’ve got contracts coming up for renewal with one major publication and we’re lookin at our options and we’re tryin to find a ad rep to stick long enough at another that we can get back to doin some advertising with them.
