CUSTOM CHROME HOSTS FIRST VENDOR COUNCIL SUMMIT–Morgan Hill, CA- Following several business related announcements this summer, Custom Chrome announces its first ever Vendor Council Summit in Morgan Hill, CA.
Holger Mohr, President, Custom Chrome clearly states the rationale behind creating the Vendor Council and its objectives. “We understand and embrace the notion that our future growth and continued success is directly linked to our vendors. For this reason, we created the CCI Vendor Council. With the councils’ help and input, Custom Chrome will be the right business partner for v-twin based product manufacturers and dealers. Custom Chrome is asking for their assistance in reaching this goal and the vendors responded with open arms and tons of ideas” explained Mohr.
The first CCI Vendor Council Summit was held in Morgan Hill, CA this week. Attending vendors delivered more than parts perspective to the Custom Chrome team, they shared their industry insight and knowledge. Vendors attending included;-

Participating vendors brought industry issues to light, contributed to product planning for 2007 and broke out into working groups each assigned with topic to discuss and provide solutions to.
“The opening session of the Summit was very informative, we heard from the Global and Custom Chrome executives about their goals and objectives, following that session we were asked to break in to smaller groups. Each group then tackled an issue facing Custom Chrome. The groups then presented back to the overall Vendor Council ideas for positive solutions. It was a great time investment from my perspective” said Vendor Council member Grady Pfeiffer (TP, Primo, Thunderhart, Daytec). “I really feel like I am part of their business now and understand better their plans for growth and continued success. It was great to participate with other vendors too. A terrific learning experience” added Joe Phillipson of Adjure.
At the end of the first Vendor Council Summit at Custom Chrome one thing was clear, Custom Chrome is dedicated to regaining its ground as the leader in the v-twin aftermarket industry by applying precision focus on parts development, replenishment and distribution. The Summit was one more step in achieving its goals.
MUDFLAP GIRL GLOVES FROM CALIFORNIA CUSTOMS–Next year Bikernet plans to build a mudflap girl bike. Hang on for that one. We’re going to use a Billy Lane mudflap girl taillight and an oil bag from Nick and New York City Choppers, but out inspiration was Arlin Fatland of 2-Wheelers in Denver. He’s the mudflap girl king and I bought a pile of Mudflap Girl bling in Sturgis, at his shop. Here’s another mudflap girl product from California Customs.

PLEA DEAL ENDS FOR HELLS ANGELS IN NEVADA CASE– LAS VEGAS – The federal racketeering trial of 11 Hells Angels motorcycle club members came to a sudden end Wednesday after six defendants accepted plea deals to reduce charges stemming from a deadly casino brawl. The men also entered plea agreements in a parallel state criminal case, sparing them the possibility of life in prison if they had been convicted. Under the deals with federal and state prosecutors, they likely will face no more than 2 1/2 years in prison.
All federal charges were to be dropped against the remaining five federal defendants. The judge said he also would dismiss the federal cases against the 31 other Hells Angles members charged in the brawl.
The collapse of the federal case came after two weeks of trial during which defense lawyers accused government agents and prosecutors of flagrant misconduct and withholding crucial evidence.
U.S. Attorney Daniel Bogden said he agreed to the plea deals because it involved “the six most active and culpable participants”in the fighting. The Hells Angels members brawled with rival Mongols biker gang members at a 2002 motorcycle rally in Laughlin, a Colorado River resort town some 100 miles south of Las Vegas.
Two Hells Angels and one Mongols member died and at least a dozen people were injured. Videotape images showed the rival motorcycle gang members battling with guns, knives, wrenches and chairs on the casino floor at Harrah’s Laughlin hotel-casino.
Calvin Schaefer, Raymond Foakes, Rodney Cox and James Hannigan pleaded guilty to federal charges of committing a violent crime, battery, in aid of racketeering. Maurice”Pete”Eunice and Dale Leedom pleaded no contest, conceding the government could prove they committed a violent felony.
Troy Regas, 43, a Hells Angels member whose brother, Sohn Regas, will go free, called it “better for six to do a small amount of time than for one guy possibly to face a life sentence.”
Defense lawyers noted the settlement of the federal and state cases would clear the Hells Angels of federal claims that it constitutes a criminal enterprise like the Mafia.”There is no implication whatsoever from this plea that the Hells Angels is a criminal enterprise,” said Schaefer’s lawyer, David Chesnoff.
No Mongols members were charged in the federal case, though six face state charges.
