DesignWraps CEO Tours America Promoting American-Made Products

Joan Krenning, founder and CEO of DesignWraps Brands, is heading across the United States on a 36-month motorcycle freedom tour of America starting in April at Arizona Bike Week.

Joan not only wants to drum up sales for DesignWraps Brands, but also to promote all American Made products. Krenning’s ride across America, called the “Glory US-A Freedom Ride”, will also raise funds for two charities, the “Wounded Warrior Project” and Laura Klock’s “Helping with Horsepower”. Joan has set her sights high and expects to ride 60,000 miles in 2013, stopping at over 200 Harley-Davidson Dealerships along the way. By the end of her journey, Joan will have hit every Harley dealer, approximately 700 located here in the United States and will have traveled over 200,000 miles.

Joan will be riding a 2013 Harley-Davidson Street Glide appropriately named “The Freedom Glide” wrapped with graphics designed by Red Phoenix Marketing. Part of the bikes paint scheme is the words that are straight from the Bill of Rights. This tricked out custom Street Glide is decked out with custom aftermarket parts provided by her sponsors: Klock Werks, Ride Wright Wheels, J&P Cycles, Harley-Davidson of Scottsdale, Yaffe’s Bagger Nation, MGS Custom Bikes, Danny Gray Seats, Roaring Toyz, Wire Plus Electronics and Saddleman. “Lady Road Dog”, as she’s known by her riding buddies, also has several apparel sponsors and a complete list of products she’s using and sponsors can be found on Lady Road Dog’s blog… http://ladyroaddog.com

The Freedom Glide features parts made only in the USA and Joan only wears riding apparel made here in the states. Joan hopes to encourage Americans to buy American products and knows this ride will embed images of the USA products of her sponsored items through her testament, blog, and marketing efforts into the minds of the people she meets along her journey.

Joan’s passion and love for giving back has been the vision for her newly formed Wraps of Hope Foundation. She plans to raise $$$ and support for the believe.helping.hands movement, the believe.in.freedom movement and the believe.off.the.streets movement, which are all part of the wraps of hope foundation. “A small portion of every product sold by DesignWraps Brands will go directly into the Wraps of Hope Foundation bank account…this guarantees that the money raised by the Freedom Ride will be donated directly to the charities”, Lady Road Dog stated.

Joan has already been invited to make special appearances at several Harley-Davidson dealers to appear at their open houses, meet with the local HOG chapters, put on seminars about her ride, etc. Joan will be in Loveland, CO on May 3rd for Global International Female Ride Day and invites all riders to join her. Watch her blog for a complete schedule on Joan’s incredible 3 year trek. Lady Road Dog will be happy to consider all promotional appearances…please email request to ladyroaddog@gmail.com. There’s already talk of a reality show being interested in her story and who knows…she just may be the next big thing since Jesse James.

Joan believes that by manufacturing in the USA, she creates a value for the consumer that also benefits America through well-paying jobs for Americans. Under the DesignWraps USA umbrella of companies, there are 3 different brands: RidersWraps…head wraps, headbands and beanies made for the serious rider. Savvy Threads…reality sized women’s motorcycle apparel designed in misses sizing and embellished with rhinestone motifs that coordinate with Wraps of Hope… the most functional, flattering headwrap in the entire market of headwraps for women. Wraps of Hope appeal to both women in the motorcycle culture as well as those suffering from hair lose due to illness. HOT ACTION THURSDAY NEWS ON BIKERNET

It's always a butt kicker, but I enjoy posting it. I get a sincere weekly charge and solid injection of information regarding the motorcycle industry all over the world. I've never enjoyed reading newspapers. I find them dirty and awkward to read, so I don't. But Thursdays I dig through internet content from all over the world for anything motorcycle oriented, with the help of lots of contributors, including Rogue.

At the end of the day, I have a strong sense of accomplishment, as if the boss said finish the job and don't come back until it's complete. Okay goddamnit. The job is done. Of course tomorrow morning I'll find typos, and folks in the industry will point out any blunders. I'll fire myself later.

Don't miss it:

This patented innovation allows the rider to adjust their floorboards from the stock position to a full forward control position or anywhere in between with the push of a button, and now we have the complete tech.

For the mid to long rides nothing else exists that can create a more comfortable and enjoyable riding experience. The brake and shifter arm travel in relation to the boards throughout the range of movement resulting in uncompromised rider control. Plus their footboards are top of the line.

New Film Goes Behind The Scenes With Bill Davidson and Willie G. Davidson

In advance of Harley-Davidson’s 110th Anniversary celebration in Milwaukee this August, the acclaimed Dear MKE Film Series has launched “All in the Family,” a behind-the-scenes video about a father and son who share one of the most recognized names in the world. Willie G. Davidson, chief styling officer emeritus, and his son, Bill Davidson, vice president of the Harley-Davidson Museum, give viewers an unprecedented glimpse into their personal story through family photos, home movies and a visit behind the doors of the Harley-Davidson Museum ® archives. Along the way, they trace the path of one of Milwaukee’s most famous legacy brands in this latest release of the 12-film series created by VISIT Milwaukee and the local creative community.

A “must-see” for motorcycle enthusiasts everywhere, the video is of added interest to the thousands of bikers riding into Milwaukee this summer for Harley-Davidson’s 110th Anniversary (Aug 29 – Sept 2).  “All in the Family,” along with three previously-released films giving riders a little taste of Harley-Davidson’s beloved home town, can be found on Dear MKE Youtube channel and on dearmke.com.

“The story of Harley-Davidson epitomizes the hard work, ingenuity and creativity that built this city and that continue to shape who we are today,” said VISIT Milwaukee President and CEO Paul Upchurch. “110 years ago Harley-Davidson put Milwaukee on the map. We’re proud more than a century later to be home to this internationally-recognized brand and the world’s only Harley-Davidson Museum.”

Dear MKE’s film crew joined Bill Davidson and his father, Willie G. Davidson, on a journey through Milwaukee’s Harley-Davidson Museum, which for Bill and Willie G. reads like a well-loved family album. From Willie G. pointing out dozens of his designs along the Museum’s tank wall, to Bill reminiscing about one of his favorite motorcycles, “All in the Family” tells a heartfelt, made-in-Milwaukee story.

This film is the fourth to be released in the Dear MKE film series, a first-ever collaborative project that brings together an all-Milwaukee creative team under the direction of VISIT Milwaukee and Hollywood producer Jack Turner, who grew up in Milwaukee.

When complete, the 12-film series and image campaign will paint a picture of Milwaukee as told through the stories of Milwaukeeans. To see an additional 300+ video clips, stories and photos of Milwaukeeans sharing their love, pride and stories about the city and what makes life good in here, go to Dearmke.com.

French biker-chef on Harley mission in Jordan

Three thousand miles from his native Lyon, Frenchman Claude Abry is living his dream in the Middle East, where he once cooked for royalty and has now traded his chef's toque for helmets and Harley-Davidsons.

"After my family, I have two loves in life: cooking and riding motorcycles," Abry, 43, told AFP at his Harley dealership outside the Jordanian capital, Amman — a challenging project in a country where bikes were banned for more than two decades for reasons of "public safety".

"Cooking and riding motorcycles give me and my family freedom. I had nothing and I worked very hard to become a chef — and one of the best," he said.

In Lyon, France's gastronomic capital, Abry worked under iconic chef Paul Bocuse before moving to Jordan and cooking for King Abdullah II — who, like his late father, King Hussein, is a motorcycle enthusiast and Harley owner.

"I was the youngest pastry chef with Bocuse," Abry said, but declined to speak of his time at Jordan's royal palace for confidentiality reasons.

Abry moved to Jordan in 2000, after having also lived in Beirut and Kuwait.
