“Hi! I’m Jochen Zeitz, the CEO, or as I like to say the Creative Energy Originator, of the Harley-Davidson motorcycle company or as I like to call it New Sustainopolis. Ha ha,

I know what you’re saying, ‘Are you not actually Matthew McCaughnahey or most certainly Tom Cruise?’ Ha ha, thank you, you’re very kind. IF ONLY!! Can you imagine me as Tom Cruise? I certainly can! Oh my God. Is he something or what!! Whew!

WHERE THE HECK WAS I?? Oh yes, we were talking about me and my vision for Harley-Davidson and whatever it is they do. While I am depicted here with my two-wheeled cycle of manly mayhem, you will notice I am not actually riding it. And the animals and the birds have come to me to ask ‘Good sir, canst thou not defile our sacred home with thine fumes?’ And to this I say ‘consider it done!

I shall merely pose with this monster of manliness: I shall not actually start it up! The forest shall be safe!’ And speaking of not starting things up, this accoutrement to my portrait does not actually have an engine. It is a prototype of what I hope will become the future of Harley- Davidson: engine-free coasting cycles. Noise, smoke, gasoline, decimated rubber forests, asphalt, bugs in the face……these nightmares, under my leadership and guidance, shall be eliminated, to be replaced by happy animals safely crossing non existing roads, bluebirds chirping happily on the ends of our outstretched index fingers, green grass and pine trees reclaiming once again their rightful ownership of the planet.

I believe it was Agent Smith of The Matrix who said something like, or close to it, “Humanity is an unnatural aberration, a foul virus that eats its way through everything in its path, leaves a wasteland and moves on, a parasitical infection that excels in corpse creation.’



He said something like that. I had Agent Smith’s little speech to Morpheus memorized once, I found it to be a poetic source of personal internal energy, my own internal combustion engine, if you will, if I might make that analogy if I may. I found his merry and whimsically potent expository on the voracious nature of homo sapiens to be a kind of spiritual tonic. A relaxing spiritual massage in an aromatic setting of candles, verandas, greek pillars, meandering entities in translucent tunics, lyre music, bowls of fruit, and windowless overlooks of gardens stretching to the early-evening horizon.

I feel Agent Smith is the central focus, the overarching impetus to my fixation on the stench of engine exhaust. Do you see the bluebird in this picture? You will sniff that gentle rascal for a very long time, my friend, before you will detect anything even close to resembling a stench emanating from off its skin. Or layering. Or whatever it is birds have.



In addition to Agent Smith, I have one other icon of attitude and behavior that I use as a guidepost, a kind of Virgil to my Dante, if you will, guiding me through the murky underworld of industrial pollution: Robert California of The Office. Now you may say that James Spader is pretending to be Robert California, but I would counter that, no, Robert California is pretending to be James Spader.

Robert California sees the larger view: he is not the head of an organization, he is part of a communal amalgam, part of an algae-bloom, if you will, if I may, whose destination and endpoint is not only not in sight, it is not even defined. Will not Nature decide the final outcome of Dunder-Mifflin? Rather than its staff and operating officers?

Robert California sees this. And I see the endpoint of Harley-Davidson. It is depicted here in this photographic tableau: a man – a smashingly dashing one at that…smashingly dashing, I kind of like that……and his product, an emasculated mantlepiece decoration for a large mantle that reflects in the manner of all government entities, the ‘governmentising of humanity” via this motorcycle: two wheels that don’t turn powered by an engine that it does not have. I see greatness there.

Harley-Davidson’s Next Electric Motorcycle is the LiveWire One

Motorcycle.com can confirm that the first LiveWire-branded electric motorcycle from Harley-Davidson will be called the LiveWire One. The information comes to us via Vehicle Identification Number deciphering information Harley-Davidson submitted to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. We expect the 2021 LiveWire One will be revealed on July 8. [Updated with some clarity about the claimed horsepower output]

The VIN filing confirms that the LiveWire One will claim a peak output of 101 bhp (that’s brake horsepower). By comparison, the 2020 Harley-Davidson LiveWire (which we’ll henceforth call by its model code, “ELW”, to avoid confusion) was previously listed in VIN filings at 70 bhp. We believe this was the measured continuous output rather than a peak output, which Harley-Davidson has claimed to be 105 hp. As we previously reported, Australian certification documents suggest the 2021 ELW will see its peak power drop from 105 hp to 101 hp, matching what the VIN filing indicates.

The LiveWire One will go by the model code LW1, and the internal vehicle code “XB”, making it distinct from the ELW and its internal vehicle code “XA”, and further confirming its status as Harley-Davidson’s second electric motorcycle. The VIN information also confirms the LiveWire One will be considered a 2021 model.

In retrospect, the LiveWire One name doesn’t come as a real surprise. The company’s first ever motorcycle was called the Model 1, and Harley-Davidson went back to that theme for its Serial 1 electric bicycle brand. Interestingly, “One” is spelled out for the LiveWire instead of being a number.

Apart from the name and its claimed brake horsepower output, we don’t know very much about the LiveWire One. The name may suggest something more classically styled, but on the other hand, one of the reasons for spinning off LiveWire into its own brand is to create some separation from Harley-Davidson’s heritage.

Harley-Davidson previously stated it would reveal the first LiveWire-branded model on July 8. The bike was supposed to make its first public debut on July 9 at the International Motorcycle Show at FivePoint Amphitheater Irvine, Calif., but the venue has since pulled out, deciding to only host musical concerts through 2021. Harley-Davidson hasn’t announced an alternate date, but we suspect the LiveWire One will be at the next IMS stop, July 16-18 in Sonoma, Calif.

Florida Drivers claim lack of state oversight led to their fraudulent motorcycle endorsements

ORLANDO, Fla. — About 200 people’s lives are now literally stalled after the Florida Department of Motor Vehicles suspended their driver’s licenses.

Each of these individuals took a motorcycle endorsement training course two years ago so they could ride, but there’s now an issue.

What You Need To Know

  • About 200 Floridians had their driver’s licenses suspended over an illegitimate motorcycle endorsement
  • State officials say the company in question was not a legitimate business
  • Some of the drivers affected say the suspensions are not fair, because the state initially accepted the endorsements

The state sent these people letters suspending their driver’s licenses, after it discovered the course wasn’t legitimate. But many of these drivers are upset, pointing out it was the state that accepted the certifications in the first place.

Francisco Perez Velez is one of the drivers who received one of the letters. As the owners of an electric service company, Velez responds to power outages around the clock. His nephew, Evelio Perez, works with him.

“We need to be there as soon as possible,” explains Perez.

It’s part of the job made more difficult when the state suspended their licenses.

“It’s going to be sad — you’re driving without a license and stopped by a police and you’re heading to your job and heading to the jail? It’s not fair,” said Perez.

Perez and his uncle received separate letters from the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, which claim they committed fraud.

“We were in a nervous breakdown because we saw the cancellation of the license and assuming the state we did fraud, we were all in shock,” said Velez.

This all started back in 2019, when nearly 200 people — including Perez and Velez — took a motorcycle course with the Pasco Motorcycle Training Institute. They took their certification to the DMV, which updated their driver’s licenses.

“They gave us a certification. This certification on our license, they just do an endorsement that says also motorcycle,” said Velez.

The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles emailed Spectrum News saying “the individuals … knowingly accepted the endorsements without having gone through the necessary training.”

Both Velez and Perez say they didn’t realize the course wasn’t legitimate, especially since the DMV accepted their credentials. They feel the state should review these training companies regularly instead of punishing clients two years later.

“Why then would I risk everything for just a simple endorsement?” Velez asked when asked if he knew the training course wasn’t legitimate.

“You don’t know how many other companies have been doing this as well,” said state Sen. Victor Torres. “You’ve opened up Pandora’s box and all of a sudden, you’ve found more violations are occurring.”

Torres believes this is a major public safety issue — since people are riding motorcycles without the proper training — and is now looking to craft a bill to create tougher regulations.

“I think for the companies who do issue these licenses — there should be a review every year by the state to make sure they are following the guidelines, they’re following the rules, and they’re not cutting any corners,” said Torres. “I think we will look into legislation for next year and see what can be added, with the work of the department as well.”

We asked the state why it took two years before it discovered the Pasco Motorcycle Training Institute wasn’t legitimate and why the DMV accepted the endorsements in the first place.

A spokesperson responded by email, saying “the department acted as soon as we were made aware of the issue.” The email went on to say “individuals who had their license suspended may appeal.”

In a later email, Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles spokeswoman Jessica Kelleher expanded on the reason the issue with the Pasco Motorcycle Training Institute wasn’t discovered earlier.

“Once we were made aware that the Pasco Motorcycle Training Institute — a provider entrusted by the state and the public to provide training and evaluate an individual’s ability to safely and lawfully operate a motorcycle on Florida’s roadways — was issuing these fraudulent endorsements, we immediately began investigating; ultimately suspending the nearly 200 individuals’ licenses who fraudulently obtained them as well as PMTI’s certification and program,” Kelleher wrote. “Because PMTI was a trusted state provider, and sent these documents to us claiming them to be accurate and legitimate, we had no reason at the time to believe there was any malfeasance until we received a tip that led to a lengthy and thorough investigation.”​

Velez and Perez are in the process of appealing their license suspensions. In the meantime, they’ve received a hardship license- which allows them to drive for professional, but not personal, reasons.

“(It’s been) very stressful — we’ve been back and forth,” said Velez. “I have to go to the doctor and take some medication because it’s stressful. Family involved. Employees.”

The state has suspended the motorcycle certification program pending their open investigation.

Spectrum News tried to contact the Pasco Motorcycle Training Institute, but never received a response. The company’s website is also now suspended.

Harley-Davidson’s new stand-alone electric motorcycle – LiveWire One

With Harley-Davidson Inc. chairman, president and CEO Jochen Zeitz repeating that the company’s electric LiveWire is “an extraordinary product,” details are emerging on a new model that will be called the LiveWire One.

Motorcycle.com reported the name of the first LiveWire-branded electric motorcycle since Milwaukee-based Harley-Davidson announced establishing LiveWire as a stand-alone entity. The website said it deciphered the information from a Harley-Davidson filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The new LiveWire One will be revealed in July and will be considered a 2021 model, motorcycle.com said.

The Harley-Davidson filing shows the LiveWire One will claim a peak output of 101 brake horsepower (bhp), which is more than the 70 bhp existing LiveWire model, motorcycle.com said.

A Harley-Davidson spokesman did not immediately respond Thursday to a Milwaukee Business Journal request for comment.

Harley-Davidson delivered the original LiveWire to dealers in fall 2019. The company announced in May that LiveWire will get an official launch in July as a brand in its own right with its own laboratory and showrooms.

Harley-Davidson (NYSE: HOG) initially planned to debut the new LiveWire at the International Motorcycle Show in Irvine, California. However, motorcycle.com reported that the show won’t be held there and Harley is looking to arrange an alternate date and site.

Zeitz, appearing on CNBC Wednesday, discussed the LiveWire strategy but not the specifics of the next phase. He said electrified motorcycles are the future for the industry.

“It might take longer in certain segments such as the traditional Harley-Davidson segment, simply because the technology is not there in terms of range and longevity of a ride that our touring customer wants,” Zeitz said.

The LiveWire product that Harley-Davidson launched in 2019 under the Harley-Davidson brand “was really a product that was more focused and geared towards the urban consumer,” Zeitz said.

“So I felt there was a huge opportunity as we are bridging into electric long term to use the LiveWire — which is the best product out there, the best electric product — but focusing more on an urban customer to actually segment that out and stand it up as its own brand.’’

Harley-Davidson announced in March hiring Ryan Morrissey as chief electric vehicle officer to lead the new electric-vehicle unit. Morrissey previously worked at consulting giant Bain & Company.

I’m catching on, catching up and catching the Rally vibe. If you live in these regions, it’s like living with a mercurial girlfriend. If she’s in a bad mood you can’t get shit done. That’s the weather around here, and I think it’s cool.

During the summer, you plan and hope to get as much shit done as possible. The other driving force for some is the rally. That’s our driving force this year. I decided to keep the Deadwood digs so bros could hang out here during the rally including by grandson and his pals.

The Redhead is working on the creature comforts, bedding and houseware, and we rapidly are needing a bookshelf. Repairs are underway, and as I shift to setting up my office at the Ranch Road digs, I’m going to add another couch to the Deadwood property, another coffee table and some railings to the stairs and upper landing area.

I’m trying to make the banisters myself after being inspired by Ron at Snowflake, who is building all the cool counters and bars at Scott Jacob’s buildings and home. We are trying like hell not to burn any daylight.

I put a new Battery in my 2014 Indian and discovered I needed gas and DOT 5 in my Panhead front brakes. Can’t get DOT 5 around here. They have DOT 3, DOT 4 and I have a large tin can of DOT 610. Remember, I posted an article about all the DOTs and what worked with what. Don’t ask me to remember all that stuff.

FROM THE CLIMATE DEPOT–Swiss reject law to help country meet Paris carbon emissions goal.

Swiss voters rejected a trio of environmental proposals on Sunday, including a new law intended to help the country meet its goal for cutting carbon emissions under the Paris Agreement on Climate Change.

A new CO2 law was narrowly rejected, with 51.6% of voters opposing it in a nationwide referendum conducted under the country’s system of direct democracy.

The result was a defeat for the Swiss government which supported the new law that included measures such as increasing a surcharge on car fuel and imposing a levy on flight tickets.

The rejection meant it would now be “very difficult” for Switzerland to reach its 2030 goal of cutting carbon emissions to half of their 1990 levels and to be become net neutral on emissions by 2050, Environment Minister Simonetta Sommaruga said.

“Today’s no is not a no to climate protection, it is a no to the law on which we have voted,” Sommaruga told a news conference.

ROAD REPORT FROM NEW ZEALAND–This is the last one of these rallies and I only missed the first one. I took Keegan with me as well as my mate Michael who has never been on a bike rally, and it has inspired him to do something about it.

I had gear for five of us in the sidecar and there was only just enough room in the front for the passenger. We spent the Sunday night at a mates place out the back of Ranfurly.

We rode home on the Monday morning down through Middlemarch. I let Michael ride the sidecar from Hyde into Middlemarch and he was over the moon at being allowed to do so.

It was on a downhill slope into a steep gully on the George King Memorial Drive that I wanted to stop and get a photo, and so I had Michael slide forward and put his foot on the rear brake pedal. Then I told him that he could ride in down and then back out again.

The ride out from the bottom was done in first gear for nearly a mile before we reached the top of this steep winding narrow road. I let him ride it all the way to Milton where we stopped for a bit of a lunch break.

I rode from there to Balclutha (about half an hour) where we stopped for a hot drink with a retired mate of mine. I let Michael ride the bike rest of the way to Invercargill to drop off Keegan and then back out to Winton, a journey of some three hours.

It was a great weekend.

BIKERNET BOOK OF THE WEEK CLUB –Radical Blackjack — My First Blackjack Book in 15 Years!

With Vegas locked down for the past year, I needed something to do. My career as an adult entertainment critic on my ToplessVegas blog had come to an abrupt halt. So, I decided to write another blackjack book.

I had made my living for more than 25 years from blackjack, primarily by writing about it, but also by playing the game to formulate and test theories, while making money in the process. But I haven’t written a book about blackjack since The Big Book of Blackjack, which was published in 2006. Geez, that’s 15 years ago!

Technically, a good portion of Radical Blackjack was written almost ten years ago and it was even offered for sale on Amazon in 2013. But it was never published back then.

At the time, I was working on it for Cardoza Publishing, but decided to hold off on it, partly because I felt some of the material was too sensitive, and partly because I needed to do a lot of analyses on the rebate material and I didn’t have access to the software I needed to do it.

Radical Blackjack contains a lot of my personal gambling secrets, plus quite a few secrets I learned from other pro gamblers. The version of this book that was almost published in 2013 was a much different book from this 2021 version.

In fact, the prior unpublished manuscript was a lot less radical. In that version, I used pseudonyms for most of the characters—many of whom are well-known authors, experts and pro players in the Blackjack Hall of Fame.

I was also very careful in that 2013 version of this book not to reveal too much about the actual plays and strategies, many of which had never been published, or at least, not in any great detail.

I did write in detail about my own discoveries and experiences, especially with regards to shuffle tracking, loss rebate plays, and online gambling, But I left a lot of details out on plays I was involved in, but had mostly learned from other pros.

My fearless Huntington Press publisher and longtime friend, Anthony Curtis, encouraged me to go ahead and use the real names of the characters in the stories I told, because it would make the book better. He said we could just run everything by those whose names were revealed to make sure we weren’t stepping on anybody’s toes.

So, I started changing weird pseudonyms to real names, and once I started doing that, I figured what the hell, since we’re going to run the whole thing by these guys anyway, I might as well tell a whole lot more of the story, since they would be offered the right to veto anything about them or their strategies they didn’t want in print.

It didn’t surprise me that some players wanted to remain anonymous, requesting pseudonyms. So, you will find some unrecognizable names in this book. But what really surprised me was that the players who were vetting this book requested very few cuts regarding the details of the tactics and strategies that we used, many of which have never been exposed in print.

So, Radical Blackjack should prove to be one hell of a revelation for many serious students of the game.

Outdoor Rec Leaders, Federal Officials, the MIC Discuss the Future and Funding
The Outdoor Recreation Roundtable’s annual Partners Outdoors forum recently brought together more than 150 recreation industry leaders, plus federal agency and conservation partners, to discuss building the recreation workforce through diversified talent, training for anticipated skills gaps, and enhancing career pathways. The event also included sessions on the future of recreation funding, management, and policy.

The MIC’s Scott Schloegel, senior vice president of government relations, hosted a session on “The Future of Surface Transportation Legislation to Drive the Recreation Economy.” He discussed various transportation and infrastructure bills currently proposed, the impact each bill would have, how these bills might be funded, and how these bills might pass.

Schloegel also highlighted a critical program for outdoor recreation, the Recreational Trails Program, and how its funding level of $84 million is only a fraction of the $270-plus million in taxes paid by off-highway recreational users each year.

“With record sales of off-highway vehicles, motorcycles, side-by-sides, ATVs, and snowmobiles over the past 18 months of the pandemic, I’m sure the amount of gas taxes paid has gone way up,” Schloegel said. “So the ORR and the Coalition for Recreational Trails have been looking for ways to plus-up funding and get back more of the gas tax dollars we already pay into the Highway Trust Fund.”

Wreaths Across America Remembers the Hero of the U.S.A.T. Dorchester Rescue

COLUMBIA FALLS, Maine – Monday, June 14, 2021 – On Wednesday, February 3rd, 2021, Wreaths Across America honored the American heroes known as “The Four Chaplains” with a special Facebook live event.

However, The Four Chaplains were not the only heroes that day.

On January 23, 1943, the U.S.A.T. Dorchester left New York harbor bound for Greenland carrying over 900 officers, servicemen and civilian workers.

The ship was a coastal passenger steamship requisitioned and operated by the War Shipping Administration (WSA) for wartime use as a troop ship. The ship was transiting the Labrador Sea when it was torpedoed by a German U-boat (U-233) on February 3, 1943. The ship sank and 675 people on board lost their lives.

Amidst the chaos to save 230 lives four chaplains guided soldiers trapped below deck to escape hatches and gave away their life jackets to save others on that fateful day. When the chaplains had done all they could, they linked arms to pray and sing hymns as the Dorchester slipped beneath the waves.

As part of the rescue response to the sinking of the Dorchester, African American Coast Guardsman Charles Walter David Jr. jumped into icy Greenland waters, from his rescue ship, to save two men from drowning and continued to help rescue a total of 93 survivors from life-boats. After his heroic acts, 54 days later Charles Walter David Jr. succumbed to pneumonia stemming from those icy waters.

I still think you should do a piece on my sidecar because it ties you, Tim, and me together. It shows that a smart editor sees a great concept from an artist and then a builder pursues this relentlessly for years before making it come true.

I don’t think any m/c magazine was printing artist concepts nor have they since. Credit to you. Tim is a crazy talented artist who came up with something so unique that it was almost impossible to build. Then my sick ass fell in love and just couldn’t stop.

Mike Corbin has said “it’s the best-looking sidecar I’ve ever seen, and I didn’t think you had it in you.” I realize not everyone is into sidecars and I must admit I wasn’t either until I saw Tim’s concept thanks to you.

So, the way I look at it you’re complicit in this endeavor and you should participate financially cause I’m in deep! Or at least show the world that Dreams can come true, and you don’t have to be a young gun, cause old guys can pull a rabbit when necessary.

I have tons of build photos from the very first cardboard cutout forward. No offense to Jim, but he wasn’t shooting for a feature and didn’t get the killer interior with exotic floor, handmade trim and matching luggage behind the seat. I have photos.

And it’s not just universities, professors, and green organizations that have reaped financial benefits from the climate panic. Former vice president Al Gore has done quite well for himself, too. As Bloomberg News reported, “In the last personal finance report he filed as vice president, Gore disclosed on May 22, 2000, that the value of his assets totaled between $780,000 and $1.9 million.”

Buy by 2007, Gore’s wealth had skyrocketed. By that point he had a net worth “well in excess” of $100 million, including pre–public offering Google stock options, according to an article at Fast Company. MIT scientist Richard Lindzen declared that Gore wanted to become the world’s first “carbon billionaire.” After the Obama administration bloated climate and energy stimulus packages, Gore was on the path to that achievement.

By 2008, Gore was so flush that he announced a $300 million campaign to promote climate fears and so-called solutions. And he just kept raking it in. According to a 2012 Washington Post report, “14 green-tech firms in which Gore invested received or directly benefited from more than $2.5 billion in loans, grants and tax breaks, part of Obama’s historic push to seed a U.S. renewable-energy industry with public money.”

The Post explained that Gore “benefited from a powerful resume and a constellation of friends in the investment world and in Washington. And four years ago, his portfolio aligned smoothly with the agenda of an incoming administration and its plan to spend billions in stimulus funds on alternative energy. The recovering politician was pushing the right cause at the perfect time. Gore’s orbit extended deeply into the administration, with several former aides winning senior clean-energy posts.”

Republican Congressman Fred Upton of Michigan, the chair of the Energy and Commerce Committee, has been a critic of Gore’s profiting off the taxpayer funds using his government connections. Gore’s portfolio “is reflective of a disturbing pattern that those closest to the president [Obama] have been rewarded with billions of taxpayer dollars and benefited from the administration’s green bonanza in the rush to spend stimulus cash.”

Gore was essentially either a founder, a member, or a partner in a whole wide range of groups that were profiting or poised to profit from a green energy stimulus and federally mandated carbon trading schemes if they became law. Gore would have personally benefited if the carbon cap-and-trade bill he supported had become law. The media never treated his Congressional testimony in support of the climate bills for what it was—a former vice president supporting legislation that would make him richer. These reports prompted one sarcastic skeptic to suggest, “Maybe Al Gore Should Be the Subject of a RICO Investigation.”

The ninth annual American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association Vintage Motorcycle Festival & Swap Meet, featuring vintage motorcycle racing on-track, a swap meet off-track, Friday night Bike Night, Saturday bike show, music and more, will be held June 18 to 20, rain or shine, at New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville.

Tickets are $25 for a weekend pass, $20 for Saturday only or $10 for Sunday only for ages 13 and older and free for ages 12 and younger.

Besides AHRMA racing and festivities, this weekend will feature the first night of NJMP’s Summer Concert Series.

Arsenal will perform in the outdoor event space behind the Finish Line Pub from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. June 19.

Food will be available from the pub and food trucks and vendors will be on site.

Admission is free and guests should bring their own blanket or chair. Outside food and beverage will not be allowed.

Monday, June 21, is the 30th International Motorcycle and Scooter Ride To Work Day.

The Department of Driver Services (DDS) Georgia Motorcycle Safety Program (GMSP) encourages all motorcyclists and scooter riders to help show support and raise motorcycle safety awareness with their commute to work.

“Riding a motorcycle to work is a great commute option for those who are properly licensed and capable of safely handling a motorcycle,” said DDS Commissioner Spencer R. Moore. “If you are not properly licensed, please, consider a GMSP training class to ensure you are sharing the road safely.”

June marks the official start of summer, and as the weather temperature rises, so will the number of motorcycles and scooters on the road. Motorists paying attention and sharing the road with two-wheel and three-wheel riders are imperative to the safety of motorcyclists and can help lower the rate of two-vehicle motorcycle-related traffic collisions.

“Motorcyclists already know how much fun it is to ride and how easy motorcycles and scooters are to maneuver in traffic and to park,” said Holly Hegyesi, GSMP program manager and avid motorcyclist. “Ride To Work Day helps call attention to the benefits of riding a motorcycle and gives us a chance to share our enthusiasm with non-riders.”

Ride To Work Day is celebrated on the third Monday in June and is a call for riders from all walks of life to come together to show how motorcycles and scooters are an economical form of transportation.

A motorcycle work commute can be more fuel-efficient and take up less space compared to passenger cars.

Although motorcycle riding is fun and brings many riders joy, it also comes with risks that support the mission behind GMSP to improve the safety of motorcyclists on Georgia’s streets and highways.

Ride to Work Day is a perfect opportunity for motorists to identify with the people under the helmet, have discussions on how everyone can work together to keep Georgia’s roads safe and highlight the need for rider education.

A RiderCourse offers motorcyclists and scooter riders fundamental safe riding techniques in a range of courses led by certified RiderCoaches. In addition to the trainer bikes available in the Basic RiderCourse, students have the option to ride their scooters if they meet the requirements.

The Georgia Motorcycle Safety Program (GMSP) is a part of the Georgia Department of Driver Services.
