Pint-Sized Goodies For Your Bike
By Bikernet | | General Posts
The Kuryakyn by Kellermann collection of high-output L.E.D. turn signals welcomes a trio of all-new incredibly small but amazingly bright options including the industry’s smallest combination run-turn-brake light application, the Atto DF.
The new Kuryakyn by Kellermann Atto, micro S and Rhombus S indicators feature optimized light channeling through a smart system of lenses and reflectors known as Kellermann’s EXtranz® (Extreme Optical Transparency) technology. This unique internal structure produces highly concentrated light output despite the incredibly small size of the indicators. Additional features include durable metal housings and glass lenses, as well as Kellermann’s HighPower L.E.D. technology with Long Life Protection Guard® for unrivaled longevity.
Atto DF
Measuring 10mm (diameter) x 14mm long, the 4-wire Kuryakyn by Kellermann Atto DF features three-in-one ultra-bright red run/brake and amber turn signal functionality. The Atto DF remains visually hidden when the bike is powered off, but when activated, these pint-sized powerhouses deliver intense illumination to keep trailing motorists at a safe distance. The newest member of the Atto family is intended for rear use only. Unlike other Atto indicators, the Atto DF includes a heat sink that absorbs and disperses heat away from the housing to prevent overheating. Atto DF is available in satin black or chrome finishes.
• MSRP: $99.99 (Satin Black), $109.99 (Chrome)
Rhombus S
The Kuryakyn by Kellermann Rhombus S is a significantly scaled-down version of the popular micro Rhombus family. Available as 2-wire amber for front or rear applications, as well as 4-wire red run/brake and amber turn signal for rear applications, the Rhombus S features a sleek, angular housing that measures approximately 35mm long x 9.5mm wide x 11mm high. Because of their unique angular shape, Rhombus S indicators are sold as specific right- or left-side fitment configurations in satin black finish.
• MSRP: $64.99 – $89.99
micro S
Currently available in 4-wire red run/brake with amber turn signal, the Kuryakyn by Kellermann micro S is a miniature version of the established micro 1000 collection of indicators. The micro S measures 48mm long x 9.5mm wide x 9.5mm high and features a streamlined oval-shaped housing offered in satin black for a clean look on virtually any ride.
• MSRP: $89.99
Fender Strut Cover Plates
Also new to the Kuryakyn by Kellermann collection are Fender Strut Cover Plates. These CNC-machined aluminum plates conceal the holes left upon removal of rear fender strut-mounted signals on most ’02-later Harley-Davidson Dyna, Softail and Sportster models. They’re compatible with all Kuryakyn by Kellermann indicators, as well as any aftermarket turn signals that mount via M8 mounting studs.
• MSRP: $29.99
Additional mounts and adapters for Atto, Rhombus S and micro S indicators are also available separately for a variety of mounting options.
All Kuryakyn by Kellermann indicators are universally compatible with most motorcycles operating via standard 12-volt DC electrical systems using an M8x1.25 x 20mm mounting thread. For more information, visit www.kuryakyn.com/c/kellermann.
Meet Indian Motorcycle’s 2019 AFT Factory Race Team
By Bikernet | | General Posts
Following a dominant 2018 season, where the Indian FTR750 won 17 of the 18 American Flat Track (AFT) races, Indian Motorcycle Racing today announced its 2019 AFT factory race team. Along with the return of reigning Champion Jared Mees, Indian Motorcycle Racing welcomes Briar Bauman and Bronson Bauman to its 2019 Wrecking Crew. Additionally, former Wrecking Crew rider Brad “The Bullet” Baker returns to the team as technical advisor and rider coach.
After back-to-back AFT championships in 2017 and 2018, Mees returns to the 2019 Indian Wrecking Crew with Crew Chief Kenny Tolbert, Mechanic Bubba Bently and Jimmy Wood on suspension. Dick Tibbits also returns and will aid all three Wrecking Crew riders with nutrition, fitness, and mental preparation. Team operations for Briar and Bronson will be conducted by Paul Langley and S&S, while Dave Zanotti will serve as crew chief. Michelle DiSalvo has signed on as Briar’s mechanic, while Bronson’s mechanic will be named at a later date. Indian Motorcycle Racing also welcomes the return of Dean Young as Wrecking Crew team manager.
“We’re excited to bring back Jared, and his championship pedigree, as we embark on the next chapter for Indian Motorcycle Racing. We welcome Briar and Bronson and are proud to have them represent our brand on and off the track,” said Gary Gray, Vice President – Racing, Technology & Service for Indian Motorcycle. “When it comes to racing, we’ve assembled some of the most talented professionals in the sport, and we’re looking forward to the upcoming season.”
One of the key team members who will assume a leading role as a technical advisor and rider coach is Brad “The Bullet” Baker. Indian Motorcycle Racing is extremely proud to continue its relationship with the former AFT Champion and Wrecking Crew rider. Baker will closely support and mentor Briar and Bronson throughout the 2019 season by analyzing their on-track performance, help with race-day strategy and bike setup. Baker brings a championship-winning perspective and a wealth of knowledge and experience on the FTR750.
The 2019 AFT season will be challenging for the Indian Wrecking Crew due to a new rule designed to increase competition. This new rule will allow competitors using ‘production bikes’ to run 40mm throttle bodies while all FTR750 riders will be restricted to 38mm throttle bodies.
Over the last two seasons aboard the Indian FTR750, Mees has recorded back-to-back AFT championships and has tallied 20 total wins. Through nine races aboard the FTR750 as a privateer, Briar secured six top-five finishes, including a second-place finish at the Peoria TT and a win at the Williams Grove Half-Mile. Following Baker’s injury at X Games, Bronson filled in and ran his factory FTR750 in the final seven races. During that time, Bronson garnered his first top-five finish of the season and his first career Twins podium with a second-place finish at the Williams Grove Half-Mile.
The 2017 Wrecking Crew swept the season standings, finishing first, second and third. The team earned Indian Motorcycle Racing’s first Manufacturer’s Championship. In 2018, Wrecking Crew riders and FTR750 privateers swept the top nine positions in the final standings, securing another Manufacturer’s Championship for Indian Motorcycle Racing.
Mustang’s Popular Wide Tripper Now Available for Indian
By Bikernet | | General Posts
The latest addition to Mustang’s growing Indian® Motorcycle portfolio ditches the classic chrome studs and leather fringe for updated sporty styling plus a host of rider-friendly features. Available for all ’14-later Chief®, Chieftain®, Springfield® and Roadmaster® models, the new 2-up Mustang Wide Tripper features a streamlined one-piece design that places riders slightly lower and further back compared to the stock seat.
The low-cut driver area sits the rider comfortably “in” the motorcycle rather than “on” it, offering easier ground reach and commanding control. A high-quality expanded vinyl cover offered in black or distressed brown provides the appearance of leather with added durability to withstand harsh elements. The hand-sewn covers feature a unique diamond-stitch design for a true off-the-shelf custom appearance.
The Wide Tripper is offered with or without a fully adjustable and easily removable driver backrest that provides fully tailored lumbar support with its fore/aft and up/down positioning. The built-in driver backrest receiver is mounted directly to the baseplate, offering easy tool-less installation and removal.
Made in the U.S.A., all Mustang seats are handcrafted and shaped with a proprietary controlled-density polyurethane-based foam that requires no break-in period and retains its shape after years of use. The patented foam compound provides even weight distribution and support across the Wide Tripper’s 13” wide driver area and 10” wide passenger area.

Here comes Anand Mahindra’s blueprint for revival of Jawa brand.
Mahindra and Mahindra’s two-wheeler subsidiary Classic Legends launched three Jawa-branded motorcycles in India this week, reviving the defunct Czech brand.
Spearheaded by Classic Legends founder Anupam Thareja, and a stake from Boman Irani of Rustomjee Group, whose family originally brought the brand to India, this undertaking is Mahindra group’s latest foray into the two-wheeler business.
Q & A with Anand Mahindra
Q. Through your subsidiary Classic Legends, you are going to handle multiple brands under one company, which is often a difficult task. How do you plan to manage that?
AM. One of the biggest growth areas, or rather an imperative, for any B2C (Business to Consumer) company in the future, will be how they build experiences into their brands. Every company is trying to transform into an experience-based company, even Airbnb. They know they cannot just survive by giving rooms anymore, they need to give experiences.
From that point of view, the idea is that if we get that core expertise of building experiences, I think the job of managing multiple brands gets easier because ultimately our core expertise will be experiences.
That’s a very theoretical answer but I know that every company in the world that is a B2C company is worrying about this.
Q. Reviving old brands is a difficult job. What makes you sure that you have got it right this time?
AM. What I think bike business, especially this niche business requires – that recipe we finally have. We have a story, a history, and a brand – and an authentic one. And we have the knowledge and the passion from Anupam. He was instrumental in resurrecting the Enfield brand.
Be authentic. Be true to the brand, for which Boman is there to help us – understanding what the DNA of the brand is. We will bring everything that Mahindra can bring to bear in a corporate garage to make sure that this is not like a start-up starved of facilities and people.
We have a BSA brand it will be with Classic Legends.
Peugeot is a brand that we are turning around in France.
A look at Jawa’s glorious journey
The big two giants in India were Enfield and Jawa motorcycles. The rough, tough, rugged bikes tested and proven in multiple battlegrounds in the World War.
Will Jawa now recapture its following and marketshare in India against the immensely popular, successful Royal Enfield?
Jawa Company is now coming back to India after 57 years. Jawa was introduced in India in 1961 post-World War 2 establishing a factory in Mysore marketing Jawa under the “Yezdi” brand name.
Classic Legends Private Limited, a subsidiary of Mahindra and Mahindra, revived the classic Jawa brand by launching three Jawa motorcycles in India.
The bikes are named the Jawa, Jawa Forty Two, and Perak.
Jawa and Jawa Forty Two will be launched first and should be available by early next year. The Perak, which is a factory-custom job, will be launched later.
Priced at rupees Rs 1.55 lakh for the Forty Two, Rs 1.64 lakh for the Jawa and Rs 1.89 lakh for the Perak, these motorcycles are in the mid-priced segment that Royal Enfield has dominated for the past decade, even as the latter is diversifying its portfolio to include more premium motorcycles with higher engine capacities.
Founder of Jawa Motorcycles Frantisek Janecek was born on 23-Jan-1878 in a small village in Bohemia in modern day Czech Republic. After studying mechanics in Prague from Berlin College of Engineering he went on to establish the Jawa Motorcycle.
During World War 1, Janecek developed a flurry of designs – patenting over 60 inventions.
His son Karel took over the business after his death in 1941. Jawa was nationalized in 1948 merging with CZ to form a single brand Jawa-CZ.

SHOWTIME BIKERNET WEEKLY NEWS for November 15th, 2018
By Bandit | | General Posts
Hey,
This is one of those crazy days. The Long Beach Show is this weekend and we’re hosting an Ultimate Builders Reception at the Bikernet Headquarters. That means spring cleaning, and scrambling. The Redhead volunteered to make two wonderful soups. It should be a blast, and then Brenda mentioned Thankgiving a week away. Holy shit. Never a dull moment.
Hang on. Let’s hit the news.
The Bikernet Weekly News is sponsored in part by companies who also dig Freedom including: Cycle Source Magazine, the MRF, Las Vegas Bikefest, Iron Trader News, ChopperTown, BorntoRide.com and the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum. Most recently the Smoke Out and Quick Throttle Magazine came on board.
INDIAN MOTORCYCLE NEWS– Motorcycle Racing Statement Regarding American Flat Track, Rule Changes for 2019 Season
American Flat Track recently communicated a series of rule changes for 2019, designed to increase the competitive balance in the sport. Two of the three rule changes single out Indian Motorcycle and the FTR750, and one of the three unfairly handicaps Indian Motorcycle’s ability to compete.
Indian Motorcycle developed a superior purpose-built race bike that conforms to AFT’s rules and regulations. While our efforts over the past two years produced unparalleled success on the track, the result has also been a competitive imbalance that ultimately does not benefit the sport. For this reason, we are fully supportive of efforts by AFT to restore competitive balance. However, we believe the changes for 2019 do not create the competitive balance we all desire and instead put Indian Motorcycle Racing at a competitive disadvantage.
First is the change from Sonoco Supreme fuel to Sonoco GTX-260 fuel, a lower octane, lead-free fuel that will force reductions in compression ratios and, ultimately, reduced power output. This is something that affects all teams equally, and Indian Motorcycle is aligned with this change.
Second is the allowance of street-legal production engines up to 900cc. The change to allow smaller displacement engines to increase bore and stroke past 750cc to 900cc will produce broader torque curves and higher peak power where desired, which is a significant advantage. “Production” engines are also allowed to change out all internal components including crankshafts, cams, pistons, connecting rods, and valves. Although this change puts Indian Motorcycle at a disadvantage, we support this as part of AFT’s effort to create competitive balance.
We take serious issue with the third rule change – allowing production engines to increase from 38mm throttle bodies to 40mm. This rule excludes Indian Motorcycle Racing, because the Scout FTR750 is not a street legal production motorcycle. Not only does the rule singularly handicap Indian Motorcycle, it represents a significant impairment of our ability to compete on an equal level with every other team in the paddock, specifically on mile tracks.
We have done extensive testing in this area, and our results have shown that 40mm throttle bodies produce 20% to 22% more air flow than the 38mm throttle body. In previous years, larger throttle bodies have been allowed, but limited specifically to larger production motors. This will be the first time that smaller, lighter production motors, similar in dimension and weight to the FTR750, will be able to increase throttle body sizes, creating a significant advantage over larger, heavier motors, let alone over the FTR750, for which this allowance does not apply. This is extremely significant on mile tracks where the increased air intake is maximized over the longer straights. Considering that the mile tracks are the predominant racing format in the series, this puts us at a drastic disadvantage and is detrimental to our ability to fairly compete at mile tracks.
It is critical to us that American Flat Track fans understand how these changes exclusively impair Indian Motorcycle Racing. Despite these changes, we will attack 2019 with the same competitive focus and determination that resulted in back-to-back championships over the past two years.
ROY CLARK DIES AT 85–
“Before we go any farther, I want to lay somethin’ on you; it’s not heavy and it’s not to imply that you don’t already do it. It’s just a reminder… to all of us.
The next chance you get, do somethin’ nice for somebody – say ‘good day,’ hold a door open – and don’t wait around for a thank you… you don’t need it. And because of you, that person will go out and do something nice for somebody, and then that person will go out and do something nice for someone else, and this whole world can wind up doing nice things for each other and we can be the ones that start it.
It takes all of us working together to get things done – no one does it alone. Only One did and I’m not that strong. Let’s start it – here’s to love – it’s still the best!” – Roy Clark
Roy Clark, the legendary ‘superpicker’, GRAMMY, CMA and ACM award winner, Country Music Hall of Fame and Grand Ole Opry member and co-host of the famed ‘Hee Haw’ television series, died today at the age of 85 due to complications from pneumonia at home in Tulsa, Okla.
Roy Clark’s decade-defying success could be summed up in one word — sincerity. Sure, he was one of the world’s finest multi-instrumentalists, and one of the first cross-over artists to land singles on both the pop and country charts. He was the pioneer who turned Branson, Mo., into the live music capitol of the world (the Ozark town today boasts more seats than Broadway). And his talents turned Hee Haw into the longest-running syndicated show in television history.
But the bottom line for Roy Clark was the honest warmth he gave to his audiences. Bob Hope summed it up when he told Roy, “Your face is like a fireplace.”
“A TV camera goes right through your soul,” says the man who starred on Hee Haw for 24 years and was a frequent guest host for Johnny Carson on The Tonight Show. “If you’re a bad person, people pick that up. I’m a firm believer in smiles. I used to believe that everything had to be a belly laugh. But I’ve come to realize that a real sincere smile is mighty powerful.”
For a man who didn’t taste major success until he was 30, the key was not some grand plan but rather taking everything in its own time. “Sure,” he said, “I had dreams of being a star when I was 18. I could’ve pushed it too, but it wouldn’t have happened any sooner. I’m lucky. What’s happened has happened in spite of me.”
In fact, that’s what Clark titled his autobiography, My Life — In Spite of Myself! with Marc Elliot (Simon & Shuster, 1994). The book reminded many that there is much more to Roy Clark than fast fingers and a quick wit.
Roy is preceded in death by his beloved grandson Elijah Clark who passed at the age of fourteen on September 24, 2018. Roy is survived by Barbara, his wife of sixty-one years, his sons Roy Clark II and wife Karen, Dr. Michael Meyer and wife Robin, Terry Lee Meyer, Susan Mosier and Diane Stewart, and his grandchildren: Brittany Meyer, Michael Meyer, Caleb Clark, Josiah Clark and his sister, Susan Coryell.
A memorial celebration will be held in the coming days in Tulsa, Okla., details forthcoming.

BOXING NEWS FROM RAQUEL–
Yummy sandwiches, vegetarian sandwiches, all kinds of chips, cheetos, water, soda, sugar free soda, all so nice for us. That was the welcome the media received from the camp at Churchills Boxing Club.
Premier Boxing had the Wilder media workout today on the west side at what used to be Wild Card Boxing Club. That’s a lot of W’s. Hopefully it will result in a lot of great boxing. A knockout is always spectacular, but I’d love to see Wider and Fury box a few rounds.
Wilder came into the ring, and was instantly mobbed. Wilder has a lot to say, and boy can he multi task. This professional athlete was non-stop words, answers, thoughts, and recollections while getting treated like a Gumby. His trainer stretched him out for a quick 10.
Wilder is a super giant good looking guy with beautiful gold Everlast gloves. It was perfect for today’s get down. A photographers delight. All through his stretch he talked. He said all of his training is in Alabama and very isolated. “I feel like a killer” he said. Wilder is the currant WBC heavyweight title holder since 2015. The “Bronze Bomber” is 6’7? tall and 33 years old. He is 40-0 39 by KO. Watch the fight this Dec 1st, 2018. Showtime Boxing PPV.

NEWS FROM THE CLIMATE DEPOT–Gov. Brown blames climate ‘deniers’ for worsening wildfires – Scientific evidence refutes him: ‘Less fire today than centuries ago’ –
Wildfires are NOT due to ‘climate change’ – Book Excerpt
STUDY: HUMANS, NOT ‘GLOBAL WARMING’, SPARKED ALMOST ALL OF CALIFORNIA’S WILDFIRES
The following is an excerpt from author Marc Morano’s new 2018 best-selling book, The Politically Incorrect Guide to Climate Change.
“There is increasing evidence that there is overall less fire in the landscape today than there has been centuries ago, although the magnitude of this reduction still needs to be examined in more detail.”…
“The ‘wildfire problem’ is essentially more a social than a natural one.” Researchers from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid found that “climate change” is not to blame for increased forest fires in the Mediterranean basin.”…
“In the United States, wildfires are also due in part to a failure to thin forests or remove dead and diseased trees. In 2014, forestry professor David B. South of Auburn University testified to the U.S. Senate Environment and Public Works Committee that “data suggest that extremely large megafires were four-times more common before 1940,” adding that “we cannot reasonably say that anthropogenic global warming causes extremely large wildfires.” As he explained, “To attribute this human-caused increase in fire risk to carbon dioxide emissions is simply unscientific.”
By: Marc Morano – Climate Depot
California Governor Jerry Brown is blaming “climate deniers” for more California’s devastating wildfires despite the overwhelming scientific evidence that wildfires are not historically worse or caused by “global warming.” See:
Jerry Brown: Climate-Change Deniers ‘Definitely Contributing’ to the ‘New Abnormal’ of Wildfires– California Gov. Jerry Brown said all climate-change deniers are “definitely contributing” to the fatal wind-whipped wildfires that have pummeled northern and southern parts of the state over the past few days, as well as blazes “in the coming years.”
Al Gore also thinks he knows all about wildfires. “All over the West we’re seeing these fires get much, much worse,” Gore said in 2017, adding, “the underlying cause is the heat.”
But the science tells a very different story. A 2016 study published by the Royal Society reported, “There is less fire in the global landscape today than centuries ago” and the “global area burned” has seen a “slight decline over past decades.” The study, by Stefan Doerr and Cristina Santín of Swansea University in Wales, noted that “many consider wildfire as an accelerating problem, with widely held perceptions both in the media and scientific papers of increasing fire occurrence, severity and resulting losses. However, important exceptions aside, the quantitative evidence available does not support these perceived overall trends.”

HARLEY-DAVIDSON SCREAMIN’ EAGLE/VANCE & HINES TEAM
CLOSES ANOTHER SEASON OF DRAG-RACING EXCELLENCE —Krawiec Defends His NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle Title to the Final Round
Harley-Davidson Screamin’ Eagle®/Vance & Hines riders Ed Krawiec and Andrew Hines capped another successful season on the 2018 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series with a strong run in Pro Stock Motorcycle final eliminations at the 2018 Auto Club NHRA Finals in Pomona, Calif.
Winners of nine of the last 16 NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle drag racing world championships, the Harley-Davidson® Screamin’ Eagle®/Vance & Hines team scored four wins in 11 final-round appearances during the 2018 season racing Harley-Davidson® Street Rod™ competition motorcycles. Both factory riders qualified for the Countdown to the Championship playoffs.
In one of the most-competitive seasons in the history of the class, Krawiec battled to defend his 2017 Pro Stock Motorcycle championship to the final round of the season at Pomona, but came up one win and 39 points short of claiming his fifth NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle championship. Aboard his Harley-Davidson® Street Rod™ motorcycle, Krawiec finished the season in second place with 2,627 points and won four events (Gainesville, Atlanta, Norwalk and Brainerd) in seven final-round appearances.
“Every race weekend the Harley-Davidson® Screamin’ Eagle®/Vance & Hines drag racing team arrives at the track ready to win,” said Scott Beck, Harley-Davidson director of global brand marketing. “Win or lose our crew represents the Harley-Davidson brand and our loyal fans with grit and class.”
Hines, a five-time NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle champion, raced his Harley-Davidson® Street Rod motorcycle to the second round of eliminations at Pomona. Hines made four final-round appearances in 2018 and finished the season in sixth place with 2,450 points.
The Street Rod competition drag bikes are based on the Harley-Davidson® Street Rod™ production motorcycle, an agile middle-weight powered by the liquid-cooled High Output Revolution X 750 engine tuned for maneuvering through traffic and congestion.
Harley-Davidson and Vance & Hines Motorsports created the Harley-Davidson Screamin’ Eagle/Vance & Hines team in 2002 to compete in the NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle division. In 2004, the team was the first to win the NHRA title with a V-Twin-powered motorcycle. The Harley-Davidson Screamin’ Eagle/Vance & Hines team is led by Vance & Hines Motorsports owners Byron Hines and Terry Vance and crew chief Matt Hines, a three-time Pro Stock Motorcycle champion.

BILTWELL FLAT TRACKER–
Bill’s 1941 Harley-Davidson Flat Tracker
A few months ago, we featured an 883 Sportster that Biltwell co-founder Bill Bryant had spec’d for the notoriously harsh NORRA Mexican 1000 all-terrain race in Ensenada, Mexico.
While the ‘Frijole 883” took shape, an unfinished project languished in Bill’s garage – a self-confessed “not great” flat track racer. Bill had decided to try racing a re-built 45” Harley having gotten nowhere on his venerable TT500: “I wanted to give the whole tank shift thing a shot. I built a 45” Harley for the street years ago, but was never that into it. I loved working on it because of the simplicity and the aesthetic, but riding it in modern traffic just wasn’t much fun.
“However, for racing other nerds around in a small circle, an old flathead is a great choice. I picked up this WLA engine as a mostly complete basket case with an original frame that was slightly raked. I took the engine to Rico Fodrey (Hi-Bond Modified, in Pomona, California) for a full rebuild, and we went out to 45’s Unlimited in Anza, California, for a transmission and a bunch of other small parts.
“The frame went to the wizard who is Mike Palazzo at 47 Industries in New Jersey and he de-raked the neck back to stock geometry, added the rear WR-style braces, bored holes in the frame castings and straightened everything out.
“The wheels, WR gas and oil tanks and rear fender were all sourced from W&W in Germany. The foot controls are sourced from Jeff Leighton out of SLC, Utah – less vulnerable than stock controls. The bars were custom bent to my specs by Jason Ball over at S&M in Santa Ana, California.
“With the ‘Frijole’ project consuming most of my “extra” time over the winter, the beautifully rebuilt flatty engine and frame sat lonely in the shop just mocking me and my poor time management skills. Once I realized I just wasn’t going to get it done, I dropped it all back off at Rico’s shop and asked him if he could get it wrapped up by Born Free. He did, and the bike ran great at the Stampede race the Thursday before the show.
“Pete at Hot Dog Kustoms sprayed the 1966 VW Sea Blue and bright white single stage paint, just in time for the race. It definitely looks even better than I imagined, but I’ll probably cry when I lay it down for the first time! As for my performance at the Stampede? I sucked, but I didn’t crash and didn’t finish last – I’ll take that all day long!”

Off-Highway Riding Stands to Gain From Motorcyclist Inside D.C. Beltway–
A fellow rider and genuine enthusiast has a key role in our federal government, at the U.S. Department of Interior. Rick May, senior national advisor to the Secretary for recreation, was in Las Vegas and delivered the keynote speech at AIMExpo presented by Nationwide. It’s a talk that everyone in the industry needs to hear.
“Largest contributor to the economy used to be agriculture,” May said. “It’s now recreation. And now, it’s motorcycling … the biggest contributor within the recreation budget. … Recreation is not something to be ignored anymore. … Our politicians are listening to us, policies are changing, regulations are changing.”

MOTORCYCLE ARTS FOUNDATION– The Motorcycle Arts Foundation (MAF) is a nonprofit company “dedicated to the preservation and distribution of motorcycle arts.”
Founded by Paul d’Orléans, Sasha Tcherevkoff and Corinna Mantlo, the MAF says it aims to highlight and promote the cultural and artistic aspects of motorcycling through film, photography, writing, and public works projects.
The organization recently announced the launch of its official website, and launched its first public initiative – the Custom Revolution motorcycle exhibition, with the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, CA.
“The concept for Custom Revolution was to display the world’s most exciting alternative custom motorcycles from the best builders around the world.” The exhibition opened in April 2018 to huge success and will run until March 2019.
MAF’s Paul d’Orléans Guest Curated the exhibition, helping coordinate the assembling of 23 motorcycles from eight countries and hosting the opening night panel discussion. “I’m very thankful to the Petersen Museum for giving myself and the MAF the opportunity to come in as outsiders and help put together this wonderful exhibition,” said d’Orléans. “It’s a truly amazing collection of bikes and the interest from the press and general public has shown us these machines really can serve as art pieces in of themselves.”
MAF’s Sasha Tcherevkoff and his agency Man & Moto, created, designed, built the online exhibition and produced the 121 page Custom Revolution catalog that is available for sale at the museum and online.
“Custom Revolution is particularly interesting because it’s an artistic example of how the motorcycle culture has shifted in the past decade. We have seen the cultural decline of custom choppers and the rise of alternative customs,” said Tcherevkoff.
“Historically, the general public has viewed motorcycles as utilitarian machines. We at MAF aim to change that. We are going to present some compelling projects that highlight the artistic purpose and huge influence that motorcycles have had on culture, love, politics, and how they have shaped trends.”

SALT TORPEDO UPDATE—Shit is happening fast. I have a list of tubing and hole cutters I must get before December 15th.
Kevin Kahl, of the Hot Rod Underground, is heading this weekend back to Kansas for an operation to his spine. When he returns, he will bring his tubing bender back and we will make the frame in two weeks.
In the meantime I need to shorted the existing frame 6 inches and cut the belly tank to fit over the axle and drop down over the riders cage. I may even cut the tank for the rear wheel.
Hang on, we’re on the move. Gary Maurer sent me a steering box.

Ballot Decisions that Affect Motorists–
The mid-term elections are officially over. Ballotpedia stated this week on its website that voters in 37 states decided a total of 155 statewide ballot measures.
Not all, of course, were motorist related but a few certainly were. We have also included some important county or city ballot issues that asked voters to raise the sales tax or bonds to maintain and repair streets and roads or at least some of the new funding raised would be for roads.
Our friends at TheNewspaper.com released this analysis: Voters Send Mixed Message on Gas Tax Measures.
Here is a list of ballot issues on a statewide, county or city level that will affect mostly infrastructure decisions for years to come in state order.
Arizona
Arizona Proposition 127: Renewable Energy Standards Initiative—Failed
Would have required electric utilities to increase the percentage of electricity from renewable resources to 50 percent by 2030.
Pima County Proposition 463: Bond issue for roads—Failed
Scottsdale, AZ Question 1: Transportation Project Transaction Privilege Tax—Passed
California
California Proposition 6: Gas Tax Repeal approved by the Legislature since January 2017 If approved, would have repealed fuel tax increases and vehicle fees enacted in 2017 by the legislature including the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017 or RRAA. Also would require voter approval for the legislature to impose, increase or extend fuel taxes or vehicle fees in the future.—Failed
Here are the many other sales tax or bond issues that California city or county voters were asked to approve (P= Passed, F= Failed)

Addendum to NMA E-Newsletter #512, To Record or Not to Record, That is the Question
It should be noted that while the newsletter provided information about motorists’ rights vs. state law regarding the right to record law enforcement, some states may draw legal distinctions between audio and video recordings. The newsletter should be supplemented by this excellent resource, Is It Legal to Film or Photograph the Police?, published by LegalMatch this past May.

BOB NICHOLS R.I.P.
September 14, 1921 October 31, 2018
Trailblazer Hall of Famer, Bob Nichols, passed away on October 30, 2018 at the age of 97. Since 1940 Bob’s business was motorcycle, auto and airplane performance, engineering and manufacturing of parts, specializing in Indian Motorcycles and other V Twin & single cylinder engines. And he was a master at it. Among other venues, his Indians raced on the AHRMA circuit at Delmar, Ventura, Temecula, Sacramento and Willow Springs. In later years he would be in the pits at local races, in his wheel chair, a wrench in his hand and a grin on his face. He had a great amount of success and lots of fun. We will miss you and your stories. God Speed. Take a look at this short clip: www.youtube.com/watch?v=bXwKltt1zHQ

OPPOSE THE YEAR-ROUND SALE OF E15
The AMA is asking for your support to urge President Trump to reconsider directing the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to allow year-round sales of E15 fuel, a blend of gasoline that is 15 percent ethanol by volume. It would waive the Clean Air Act requirements related to Reid Vapor Pressure. This action would put the owners of millions of motorcycles and ATVs at significant risk, because this fuel can cause engine and fuel system damage and may void the manufacturers’ warranty. None of the estimated 22 million motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles in use in the U.S .are approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to use E15 or higher ethanol blends.
UPDATE FROM CRAIG AND CAROL VETTER
It has been 3 years and 2 months since Craig Vetter received grave injuries when he collided with a deer while motorcycle riding. He is coming back slowly. The positive things are the return of his design ability, reasoning and planning ahead. Not so good is the dizziness, hearing and his emotions are on the surface. Carol and Craig have attended the last two Trailblazers Banquets and both look happy and healthy. We are so glad that improvement continues. Love you guys.

FROM THE GEARHEAD DIARIES–I ponder these things sometimes. We lose Dave Mann years ago. We lose Ed Roth too. Guys like George Barris that have a big influence to the custom industry and now we lose Stan Lee. How many customs or custom paint jobs have had a big influence by these geniuses.
How many Capt. America or Hulk paintings have we seen in a gas tank or fender. I hope we see new customizers that will push the envelope past the mundane standard. They have not only had an influence on the custom industry for cars and bikes but also our tattoo industry.
I ponder these things sometime. Who is going to carry on? Hopefully a new generation will learn these skills form the masters.

LABOR UNION STRIKE Ends at Enfield–No one was interested about a small company called Royal Enfield when it was small and was selling engines / chassis designed in 1955 in the 21st century – even in 2010. But when they invested in technology and a modern factory and started selling better products which showed 150% growth in sales every quarter – of course, they became big and attracted the big scoundrels who hold every business and businessman to ransom – who enjoy the “Free Money” and “Free Lunch” from politicians, citizens, foreign investors, foreign companies.
So the Democratically elected Communist Party in Kerala Sate, needs Donations from all over India and the world for Flood Relief even though it boasts of 100% literacy for many decades and has the same Communist Party of India in power at Government for many decades. Kerala Government surprisingly does not have the money for basic infrastructure to provide that Flood Relief for its own residents.
And the world media will tell you, there is No Democracy in India – where there is such incredible Liberal Democracy where Communist Parties and Islamic Republican Party – having the words “Communist” and “Islam” in the name of the Parties itself – winning elections since 1947 independence of India.
Well, what more democracy does this world media wants India to have, to live and have a daily basic food, water or income for its 1.2 billion known citizens and its millions of illegal immigrants from the well-known neighbouring terrorist Nations.
Strike over, but the road ahead for Royal Enfield remains bumpy
RE’s volume growth has been impacted due to Kerala flood in August 2018.
After losing 26 per cent in the past two months, the stock of Eicher Motors gained nearly 6 per cent on Tuesday after the maker of iconic Royal Enfield (RE) bike announced the end of workers’ strike at the Chennai plant.
While this may help in resuming the timely supply of bikes to dealers, it may not improve the overall volume growth for FY19 considering moderation in demand over the past few months. Which may limit the stock’s upward movement in the near term.
RE’s volume growth has been impacted due to Kerala flood in August 2018, all-India Truckers’ strike and workers’ strike at the Chennai facility since September. Kerala market constitutes nearly 11 per cent of the total volume of the RE and it lost around 28,000 units due to workers’ strike.
While reporting the September quarter numbers, Eicher reduced the production guidance for RE to 9,25,000 units for FY19 from 9,50,000 units earlier. It implies that the company expects 13 per cent volume growth year-on-year in the second half of the fiscal, which may not be an easy task due to several factors.
First, the company stated during a conference call after the second quarter results that the same-store volume dropped in the quarter compared with 10 per cent growth in the previous quarter. The measure captures volume growth for showrooms operating for at least two years.
Second, the waiting period for RE models has not increased from typical 2-3 weeks despite the production loss due to floods and strike. Ideally, the waiting period would have expanded amidst supply disruption.
In addition, the premium bike segment, where Eicher operates, is most impacted due to higher insurance cost and introduction of rear disc brakes to comply with a new regulation on anti-lock breaking system (ABS) from April 2019. The price of its bestselling model Classic 350 has risen by 9 per cent in the past three months.
RE volume grew 18 per cent in the first nine months of 2018 compared with 19 per cent growth of the overall bike segment. Consequently, RE’s contribution to the total motorcycle volume dropped to 4.4 per cent in September 2018 from 6.1 per cent in January 2018.
Given the bumpy road ahead, analysts expect sales of 8,75,000-8,95,000 units for FY19, which is 3-5 per cent lower than the company’s guidance. They have also trimmed the projected earnings per share for the fiscal by 7.5 per cent to Rs 941 from Rs 1,016 in June 2018, according to Bloomberg data.

THAT’S IT?—My mind is scrambling with the Bike Show Party, the Redhead’s menu and the Salt Torpedo.
I have another report on the Stealth’s Shovelhead rebuild. I should post it next week along with a party report.
I hope as we move forward the parties can work together for the people, for the infrastructure and for Freedom in mind.

THE 2019 BIKERNET FREEDOM MANIFESTO
By Bandit | | General Posts
There is threat recently unleashed on the public that may change our lives forever. Under the guise of saving the planet a group of control-freaks have devised a way to control everything in our lives. As bikers we know the drill, when we dismantled helmet laws, and then Joan Claybrook came up with the public burden theory.
This time it’s a Government by the People for the Planet powered by ever-expanding government agencies.
Remember the McCarthy era, the public was sold on our demise through the threat of communism so the government took control. It was a hoax.
In this case the threat of Climate Change has made your car, motorcycle or truck the bad guys, and we were convinced there was nothing we could do but succumb to the mandates of a growing number of agencies and control mongers.
This lead to a rapidly growing prohibition on fossil fuels. We all know how well prohibition worked in the ‘20s. The temperance movement made every beer drinker the bad guy. Now it’s mom in her SUV.
Here’s the shame, even beyond the mandates, the laws, the restrictions and the money. We live twice as long as our ancestors. We are healthier and have medical treatments able to cure almost anything. We live safer and our homes and cars are amazing. We conquered leaded fuels and the worst emissions. We should be free to do so many things because we’ve accomplished so much. We should be celebrating not punishing our fellow citizens for driving cars or smoking a cigarette. We should be free to modify anything we want. We should be dancing in the streets, but we are not.
So, why can’t we be happier and more content than ever before? Suddenly there’s a higher calling and it’s not a religious mandate, it’s save the planet and compete with every other country on the globe to do a better job of it. Unfortunately only 16 of 197 countries are currently signed up for the UN Climate accord. If we never drove again, it wouldn’t matter, even if the climate change claim was true. Unfortunately it’s not. Man does not control the climate.
I could slip easily into the global warming debate with volumes of info: from the planet is currently cooling, sea rise has subsided and there are more polar bears than ever before. The man-made aspect is a small fraction of emissions compared to forest fires and volcanoes. Actually the CO2 concentration is way below what is was thousands of years ago. Besides, we need CO2.
Sure, we have issues and I will touch on two: The infrastructure and education.
We could fix the infrastructure. Now, there’s the key. After WWII we built roads all over the country and afforded the public the ability to drive almost anywhere. Why can’t we fix the infrastructure now and expand it for a growing population?
So, the issue is not to punish the people but to expand our infrastructure to afford more roadways for more cars, trucks and motorcycles. This could be handled in many friendly, supportive ways. I actually came up with a concept but the DOT sent it back without opening it.
An educated society is fully capable of making sound decisions without undue government oversight.
We may also need to kick around risk and how we don’t need zero anything. We need happy people who are strong and educated, not relying on government to do everything for them.
I don’t want to outlaw guns. I want everyone to know about them, train and be educated. I don’t want to outlaw cigarettes. I want people to be educated and aware of the risks and deal with them on their own (if you don’t like this bar find a smoke-free joint).
I don’t want there to be universal helmet laws for motorcyclists, I want people to know all the info and make their own choice. I don’t want to outlaw sodas, but I want people to be educated and aware of the risks. I don’t want a prohibition against fossil fuels, I want people to be educated as to the real threats and the real polluters. I want folks to be educated as to the history of the earth. We wouldn’t have an earth without climate change. We wouldn’t have life on earth without climate change.
I want Americans to be happy, free and dancing in the streets.
STAY CALM BIKERNET WEEKLY NEWS for November 8, 2018
By Bandit | | General Posts
Hey,
This was quite an election with 20 million more voters stepping up. That’s amazing. It’s going to be so interesting as all the outcomes unfold.
Hopefully, the results will lead to a better understanding, a shot in the arm for freedom and improved infrastructure.
HANG ON, Police adopt Custom Culture–While customization of two-wheelers or four-wheelers is a non-existing business in India especially because of the tedious process to register any custom made vehicle with RTO and Highway Authorities – Delhi Police facing constant pressure regarding dead end bottlenecks and crimes on the roads have a custom made plan.
NEW DELHI: Delhi Police are all set to launch bike-borne PCR teams ahead of Diwali festivities that will be effective in patrolling congested lanes.
The bike fitted with loud hailers, geofencing software, GPS tracking units and a kit containing stun guns and pepper sprays will be launched later this week and deployed along with PCR units.
Officers riding these will be equipped with hands-free communication systems and body cameras. This will reduce the response time of the PCR units considerably, especially during the festive season.
Delhi Police spokesperson Madhur Verma said that on October 6, the PCR will induct 300 such bikes. “These vehicles are fitted with specialised equipment like GPS systems and loud hailer, which are important for street policing. This will not only improve the response time but also increase the visibility of the police patrol teams,” said Verma.
Similar units would eventually be deployed with the traffic police as well. Each bike will have two cops. Officers said that all these bikes will have a distinct silver paint with ‘police’ written on them. The units will attend calls to the police helpline 100 — like their counterparts deployed in cars — and coordinate with the police stations.
The bikes will also be fitted with LED lights, beside headlights for better visibility. The cops would also carry a side arm — an AK rifle or a MP5 sub-machine gun. Cops have modified the Bajaj Pulsar and the TVS Apache motorcycles to suit the needs. The bodies of these two-wheelers have also been reinforced with iron rods to sustain incidents of crashes.

THE BIKERNET BAD JOKE LIBRARY STRUGGLES WITHOUT SIDEHACK JERRY--Chuck sat in the barber’s chair, “I’ll have a shave and a shoe shine…”
The barber began to lather his face, while a woman with the biggest, Firmest, most beautiful real breasts that he had ever seen knelt down and began to shine his shoes.
Chuck said, “Young lady, you and I should go and spend some time in a hotel room.”
She replied, “I’m married and my husband wouldn’t like that.”
The man said, “Tell him you’re working overtime and I’ll pay you the difference.”
She said, “You tell him; you’re closer. He’s the barber.”

Yamaha Announces Production Plans for All-New Ténéré 700–U.S. Market to Receive Exciting New Adventure Touring Motorcycle in Second Half of 2020
Yamaha Motor Europe (YME) today introduced the all-new Yamaha Ténéré 700 Adventure Touring motorcycle during an exclusive press conference in Milan, Italy, and Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A. (YMUS) announced that this exciting all-new motorcycle would also be produced for the U.S. market.
Production for the European model will take place in France, while production for the U.S. model will take place at Yamaha’s factory in Japan. Due to differing government regulatory standards and factory production line schedules, the all-new Ténéré 700 is scheduled to arrive at U.S. dealerships in the second half of 2020.
Yamaha U.S. also announced the return of the flagship Super Ténéré ES as the company’s 2019 Adventure Touring model. Arriving at dealerships beginning in November 2018, the 2019 Super Ténéré ES will be available in a Ceramic Ice color scheme for an MSRP of $16,199.
The Ténéré story: where it all began
The Ténéré can trace its roots back to the launch of the XT500 enduro-adventure bike in 1976. This versatile motorcycle became an instant success thanks to its single cylinder four-stroke engine with strong torque and a compact chassis.
Its go-anywhere ability, rugged design, and outstanding reliability opened up a new world of adventure to many motorcycle riders. These same qualities made the XT500 the ideal choice for competitors in the very ?rst Paris-Dakar Rally in 1977, demonstrated by Cyril Neveu’s victory on the bike.
The XT500 quickly established a reputation as the toughest desert rally bike, and it became the default model for adventure-seeking riders and rally racers alike. Today, the XT500 is considered one of the most signi?cant and iconic motorcycles of the late 20th century, with active owners’ clubs throughout the world.
By the end of the 1970s, the XT500 had achieved legendary status among riders, and in 1983, Yamaha introduced the XT600Z that became the company’s ?rst Adventure bike to carry the Ténéré name – a Tuareg word meaning ‘desert’ or ‘wilderness.’
The Ténéré line-up was constantly evolving and growing, and the end of the 1980s saw the introduction of the two-cylinder XTZ750 Super Ténéré, followed in the early 1990s by the single-cylinder XTZ660 Ténéré. During this period, Yamaha’s Ténéré motorcycles won many more Dakar Rally events, with Stéphane Peterhansel claiming six victories on his XTZ750-based Factory Yamaha race bike in the 1990s.
Ténéré 700 World Raid: Tested to the extreme
The ?rst sign that Yamaha was developing a new Adventure Touring motorcycle came with the launch of the T7 concept in 2016. Displayed at motorcycle shows all over the world, it created immense interest and gave riders a taste of what was to come. In 2017 Yamaha introduced the Ténéré 700 World Raid prototype that was one step closer to the final production specification.
Since then, the Ténéré 700 World Raid prototype has undergone an intensive world tour in various key locations all over the globe. During this development phase, the bike was subjected to the most extreme testing in hostile terrain and severe climatic conditions.

THURSDAY NEWS EXCLUSIVE: Electric Vs Oil
Electric car demand fuelling rise in child labour in DR Congo: Campaigners
Tens of thousands of children as young as six dig for the toxic substance in artisanal mines in the country’s southeast, without protective clothing, rights groups say.
REUTERS November 03, 2018
DAKAR: Demand for electric vehicles is fuelling a rise in child labour in cobalt mines in the Democratic Republic of Congo, experts said this week, urging companies to take action as the industry expands.
Cobalt is a key component in batteries for electric cars, phones and laptops, and Congo provides more than half of global supply.
(Adult health hazard, adult toxic sickness and pollution of land be damned) –
“Based on what I saw on the ground, right now there is absolutely no way any company in the world could assure its consumers that the cobalt in its products is not tainted by child labour,” Kara told the Thomson Reuters Foundation.
Tesla discloses more regulatory credits helped profit in Q3
Tesla booked $189.5 million in automotive regulatory credits in its third quarter which helped contribute to profitability, the company said in a quarterly filing on Friday.
REUTERS November 03, 2018
SAN FRANCISCO: Last month Tesla disclosed $52 million in “zero emission vehicle” credit sales, but the quarterly filing includes all regulatory credits, including the ZEV credits.
Higher gross margins that exceeded Tesla’s guidance in the quarter were helped by lower costs and an “increase in regulatory credits, which have no associated costs,” Tesla wrote.
The new disclosure shows that 44 percent of the net profit Tesla reported last week was attributed to previously undisclosed regulatory credits.

HOLLYWOOD FIGHT NIGHTS 4th ANNUAL
TOM LOEFFLER ‘s 360 PROMOTIONS VIP BOXING EXPERIENCE 2018 Tuesday What makes some boxing events more fun than the rest? Is it the crowd, the boxers, the venue?
The 4th Annual Hollywood Fight Nights was definitely the move this Tuesday. Tom Loeffler’s 360 Promotions Hollywood Fight Nights VIP Boxing Experience was held at the historical Avalon in Hollywood California.
The Avalon is a super gorgeous theatre space, with strategically placed bars everywhere you turn. I must mention the lighting in this place, it is so beautiful. I don’t know about you, but I’m a stickler for good lighting. Please don’t make me sit for hours in a hotel banquet room with fluorescent lighting. This place, not only spectacular to look at, had a legit menu, stiff drinks and a good staff.
Now on with the show! This Halloween eve had 7 bouts on the fight card. At the weigh ins, I could see who was going to be interesting. I was super excited to see “El Flaco” Serhii Bohachuk fight in the main event for the Junior Middleweight division for 6 rounds. You’ve got to love this boxer, he’s a trip! He’s 6 ft tall, good looking, with a heavy eastern European accent. His walkout song is Marriachi, you gotta love it.
Serhii Bohachuk 10-0 (10 KO’s) fighting out of Los Angeles Ca Vs Ronald Montes 18-10 (16 KO’s) Barranquilla, Colombia. Serhii “El Flaco” has been training with Abel Sanchez in Big Bear Ca, at the Summit high altitude training center. Pretty amazing stuff. The 23 year old turned pro in 2017 and has been consistently knocking dudes out. On this night he did it again! The left hook he gave Montes looked like easy work for El Flaco. At 1:50 into the first round, it was all over.
Ronald Montes fighting out of the blue corner, walked out to Bob Marley’s anthem reggae song. Montes took some harsh body shots before going down. El Flaco remains undefeted at 11-0 (11 KO’s).
Leading up to the main event were some super solid matches.
Teodoro Alonso 0-2 Los Angeles CA Vs Jaime Miranda 2-2 (2 KO’s) Kalispell MT. These young boxers both had long hair at the weigh ins, so neatly braided the very next day. Alonso, looking for his first win, had non stop punches and favored his uppercut. These athletes went all four rounds. In the junior lightweight division, Alonso wins by unanimous decision over Jaime Miranda. Scores were 40-36 on all three judges’ scorecard.
The next bout, I knew would be interesting. Kenny Brown Los Angeles CA, a super unknown, making his pro debut is up against undefeated boxer Devon ‘The Great’ Lee, (5-0-0, 5 KO’s), of Sacramento. Devon Lee could stick to talking with his fists, but he has a lot to say too! Kenny Brown started out confidant, but within 51 seconds, off the rope, Devon Lee knocks Brown out before he even hit the mat. Off the rope! A beautiful thing. Brown crawled around before he stood up and then he still had no legs. It was over. The crowd loved it. Congratulations to Devon Lee and let’s hope Kenny Brown doesn’t get discouraged and we see him again.
It’s always thrilling to see the revered Freddie Roach in a corner. His fighter Marco Deckman made his professional debut this June. Deckman is super tall and in shape. Hurtado looks completely overweight and like he’s been kicking back drinking beer. Marco Deckman, (2-0-0, 2 KO’s), stopped Jose Jesus Hurtado, (5-10-0), of San Ysidro, CA with a left hook to the body in the second round.
The next fight was highly anticipated. Adrian Corona 1-0 Rialto, CA Vs Gabriel Serrano 0-1 Santa Ana CA. Keep your eye on Adrian Corona, a great athlete. With a look of power and calm, Corona walked out to the neighborhood song of “Night Owl” by Tony Allen. Corona looked & felt comfortable in Hollywood because he’s fought here before, he’s no stranger to danger. Adrian Corona, is only 18 years old. “Bam Bam” comes from a fighting family and is a so cal favorite already.
His apponant Serrano, is 30 years old with a reach advantage and a unique fighting style. Some people think the age difference is an advantage of experience in the ring. You could hear Serrano’s corner yelling at him jab jab jab of course, with that reach advantage. Ringside commentator Doug Fisher so perfectly described Corona as a “cool customer”. Corona stayed steady at it by getting in close to land his punches. Serrano was changing his stance from orthodox to southpaw, and almost lost his balance more than once.
Corona looking like a champ, kept Serrano backed up against the ropes. Corona knocks Serrano down in the 3rd round with a sweet one right to the face. “Bam Bam” Adrian Corona wins a four-round decision over Gabriel Serrano. Scores were 40-35 and 39-36 twice.
In the featherweight division Humberto “Filly” Rubalcava, (9-0-0, 6 KO’s) of Orange, CA Vs Robert ‘Escorpion’ Pucheta, (10-15-1, 6 KO’s), of Jalisco, Mexico for six-rounds. These boxers were bad asses that love to box. Scores in favor of the still undefeated Rubalcava at the end of 6 rounds were 60-53 and 58-55, twice. Be sure to watch out for “Filly’s” left hook.
The co main event, Jonathan Esquivel 7-0 (7 KO’s) Anaheim CA Vs Rowdy Legend Montgomery 5-1-1 (4 KO’s) Hesperia CA. This was a great fight. Everybody was at the edge of their seats. Jonathan ‘Diamante’ Esquivel had a lot of fans in the audience that were chanting “JOHN NA THAN” “JOHN NA THAN” it was super exciting. Rowdy seemed to connect with the audience and got a good response from his boxing. Esquivel started bleeding in the 4th round, but Montgomery wins in the last two rounds against Esquivel. Scores were 59-54 twice and 58-55.
It was such a great fun night of Boxing. There were all kinds of beautiful people in costume everywhere! The Who’s Who from the Big Bear training crew were there as well. The undefeated champion Cecilia Brækhus was there. The beautiful professional athlete is the undisputed female welterweight champion since 2014, and is the first woman in any weight class to hold the WBA, WBC, IBF, and WBO titles simultaneously.
The Hollywoood Fight Nights VIP Boxing Experience will continue in 2019. Thank you for taking the time to read my column for all of the latest in the Boxing world.

BOB NICHOLS R.I.P.
Trailblazer Hall of Famer, Bob Nichols, passed away on October 30, 2018 at the age of 97 (depending on who you ask).

Harley-Davidson Releases Further Details on 2019 LiveWire at EICMA Show– The all-new electric Harley-Davidson LiveWire made its European debut at the Milan press conference of the EICMA show. The announcement reveals eagerly-awaited specification and details about LiveWire, which was unveiled in Milwaukee during the company’s 115th Anniversary this past Labor Day weekend.
Due for release in 2019 and being shown at the event as a production-ready motorcycle, LiveWire was first confirmed during the announcement of the company’s “More Roads to Harley-Davidson.” On July 30, 2018, Harley-Davidson shared plans to accelerate its strategy to build the next generation of riders globally.
The vision behind the production LiveWire motorcycle began with Project LiveWire, revealed as a prototype in 2014 as an effort to gauge the potential of an electric-powered motorcycle as envisioned by Harley-Davidson. Drawing from the experiences of the Project LiveWire demo tour and following an intensive development program the Harley-Davidson LiveWire model offers the rider a new, high-performance motorcycling experience. Propelled by the immediate torque of an all-electric motor, the LiveWire motorcycle is capable of astounding acceleration with just a twist of the throttle – no clutching or gear shifting required. A low center of gravity, rigid aluminum frame and premium adjustable suspension components give the LiveWire dynamic handling. Performance and range are optimized for the urban street-rider.
Power
The LiveWire motorcycle is powered by a permanent magnet electric motor that produces instant torque the moment that throttle is twisted– which results in incredible acceleration performance for a thrilling ride. The motor is located low in the motorcycle to lower the center of gravity and help the motorcycle handle well at all speeds and easy to control when stopped. The LiveWire model is designed to produce a tone that increases in pitch and volume with speed –a new sound that represents the smooth, electric power of the LiveWire motorcycle.
Chassis
Powertrain performance is maximized by a chassis designed to deliver nimble, agile handling for confident control on urban streets and a thrilling ride on curving backroads. Combining the powertrain as a stressed member within the aluminum frame to increase rigidity, the LiveWire features premium high-performance fully adjustable Showa® suspension. The Showa® BFRC-lite® (Balanced Free Rear Cushion-lite) mono-shock rear suspension is complimented by Showa SFF-BP® (Separate Function Fork-Big Piston®) up front, balanced to match the performance and adjustability of the rear shock and deliver exceptional low-speed damping control – ideal for composed control in typical urban riding conditions.
To improve the control and performance of the motorcycle further LiveWire is fitted with Brembo Monoblock front brake calipers gripping dual 300 mm-diameter discs to deliver outstanding power with a crisp feel for confident braking performance.
Confidence when riding is boosted with cornering-enhanced Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Traction Control System (TCS) – both of which are standard features on the LiveWire model – and co-branded H-D/Michelin Scorcher tires (180mm rear/120mm front). The rider can also tailor the performance of LiveWire with seven selectable riding modes – four of which are set as standard from the factory and a further three modes that can be defined by the user.
The LiveWire motorcycle features a RESS (Rechargeable Energy Storage System, or the main battery) composed of lithium-ion cells surrounded by a finned, cast-aluminum housing. The LiveWire motorcycle is also equipped with a small 12-volt lithium-ion battery that powers the lights, controls, horn and instrument display.
Charging can be completed using the on-board Level 1 charger that plugs into a standard household outlet with a power cord that stores below the motorcycle seat. LiveWire can also be charged with a Level 2 or Level 3, DC Fast Charge (DCFC), through a SAE J1772 connector, (USA), or CCS2 – IEC type 2 charging connector in international markets. All Harley-Davidson dealers who sell the LiveWire motorcycle will offer a public charging station with DCFC.
The all-new Harley-Davidson LiveWire will be on sale next year, and further details regarding pricing and pre-order process will be released in January 2019. Please visit www.h-d.com/MoreRoads for details.
SOMETHING FOR THE HORSE– Bandit, how ya doin’, man? Doing about the same here. Not doing any better, but not any worse. I just ordered George Christie’s book, “Exile On Front Street” from Amazon. I read the review on Bikernet.
I had a guy from Illinois or Indiana, can’t remember right off, he’s not a known guy, but he has a sweet Shovelhead chopper, and I sent a pic to David (Englishman), and he said that I could cover it for ‘THE HORSE’. Do you have any advice you could pass on to me about writing a damn good bike feature? I’ll forward the two pics the guy sent for me to show David, I’ll forward them to you.

The best advice I could give would include reading a bunch of HORSE features and pick the best to follow.–Bandit

Today was fire. The media workout for Dmitry Bivol was hosted by Main Events and World of Boxing. The gym was blasting Led Zeppelin and beautiful people were training hard in every inch of the gym. And that is no exaggeration. This gym rules.
Soon, Dmitry Bivol and his team arrive. Dmitry, 14-0 (11 KO’s) stands 6 ft tall and is 27 years old born in Soviet Union and speaks Russian as his first language. He’s an incredible athlete at first sight. He was super cool and taking pictures with all the media. Then he did short interviews. A total professional with really good English.
Next was his ring time warm up with conditioning coach Taylor Ramsdell and pads with trainer Gennady Mashianov. Watching his session was incredible. The power behind Bivol’s punches was intense at ringside. The gym got quiet for a few seconds. Boxing is a dangerous sport, times like today are a real reminder.

Dmitry will defend his WBA Light Heavyweight Champion title (since 2017) for 12 rounds against Canadian Jean Pascal 40-33 (20KO’s) . The Haitian Pascal is 36 years old.
The fight will be on HBO Boxing live form The Hardrock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City NJ November 24th 2018. Tickets range from $50 to $200 and are on sale now through HardRockHotelAtlanticCity.com and Ticketmaster.com

Want To Improve Your Productivity in 3 Steps? Then Say No To These Three Activities Immediately.
From www.Forbes.com
1. Activities You Can Delegate
2. Urgent Requests That Don’t Really Matter
3. Ways Of Working That Drain You
Activities You Can Delegate
Are you a people pleaser? Do you take on more than you can handle? Or would you like a way to focus on your work without becoming distracted by other people’s priorities?
Productive entrepreneurs and executives make smart decisions about how to spend their time, energy and resources. They also know to what to turn down, and how to do it.
Management consultant and author Peter Drucker said, “You can’t build on weakness.” Instead, he recommended focusing on one’s strengths.
For example, you might have excellent writing skills and be able to sell your products and services with great sales pages, but you struggle with designing visual elements for these pages.
Say no to spending hours taking Photoshop tutorials or trying to improve your design skills. Instead, focus on writing and outsource design work to a third-party using a site like UpWork. https://www.upwork.com/
If you work within a large MNC business, you might excel at data analysis but struggle at presenting information in a visually appealing way.
Instead of trying to improve your PowerPoint skills, consider enlisting a colleague who can turn your analysis into a format others can interpret.
This way, you can advance faster by focusing on your strengths rather than trying to improve your weaknesses.
Urgent Requests That Don’t Really Matter
Ding. An email arrives in your inbox with a request for “your thoughts before lunch.” Responding takes ten minutes and isn’t directly related to anything you’re working on.
While it’s nice to help others, these urgent but unimportant activities soak up time and mental energy.
Also, important but not urgent activities represent other people’s priorities.
Beware! The thirty-fourth president of the United States, Dwight Eisenhower said, “What is important is seldom urgent and what is urgent is seldom important.”
He proposed the Eisenhower box as a framework for deciding what to focus on and what to ignore.
So say yes to important tasks that help you achieve your goals faster and say no or at least “not right now”, to everything else. Only later should you return to these requests and activities (if at all).
Ways Of Working That Drain You
Several years ago, I worked with a sales manager of a large team. He loved nothing more than reaching a decision by talking about his ideas out loud with his team. On the other hand, I often need time and space to reflect on information before reaching a decision.
At first I thought I should work more like this sales manager, but then I realized he was a classic extrovert, whereas I’m an introvert. Both work styles are OK.
He arranged his working day so he was surrounded by others, whereas I built in blocks of quiet or alone time into my day. I often need to recharge after events or large meetings although he found these activities revitalizing.
Susan Cain wrote, “Don’t think of introversion as something that needs to be cured.”
Say No Like A Pro
Learning how and what to say no to is a skill that demands practice. It’s particularly difficult if you’re used to accommodating others.
Once you know yourself and your working style, you’ll be better able to identify what to refuse by saying no until you’re free to help a colleague or peer.
Self-knowledge and a little diplomacy are important traits for entrepreneurs and executives.

WORK IN PROGRESS, THE BIKERNET FREEDOM MANIFESTO FOR 2019–
There is a threat recently unleashed on the public that may change our lives forever. Under the guise of saving the planet, a group of control freaks have devised a way to control everything in our lives.
In this case, the threat of Climate Change has made your car, motorcycle or truck the bad guys, and we were convinced there was nothing we could do but succumb to the mandates of a growing number of agencies and control mongers.
This leads to a rapidly growing prohibition on fossil fuels.
We should be celebrating, not punishing, our fellow citizens for driving cars or smoking a cigarette. We should be free to modify anything we want. We should be dancing in the streets, but we are not.
Read the whole tamale on Bikernet tomorrow.–Bandit
Looks good to me. However, the Prohibition analogy isn’t a good one, IMO.
Climate change? Yeah, it’s happening, and has been since the dawn of time. Does mankind affect it? Yes, we’ve been doing so since the first hominids began spreading out of Africa. But so have plate tectonics, solar cycles, meteor and comet strikes, etc. But our impact (despite the Chicken Little crap from junk science) is grossly overstated.

NEW ON BIKERNET TRIKES–The 5th Annual Spyders In The Hills was held in Boerne, Texas, October 18th – 20th, 2018
The trike industry has been growing…a lot! Physical limitations, i.e., sore backs, especially in the ‘Graybeard club’ continue to rise; so are potential ride-ending injuries sustained by U.S. military and First Responders. Bombardier, Can Am of Canada, has an established line of well-engineered great handling trikes (two wheels up front) to keep folks of all physical abilities ‘in-the- wind’ without the need for “boots-on-the- ground.”
My wife had been crippled with back pain from a collapsing spine and degenerating discs. Her ability to ride on two wheels came to a stop and after a 15-year love affair, she handed down her V-Star 1100 to her daughter.
Two back surgeries later, #1, September 2016 at Cedars Sinai, Marina Del Rey CA failed in six months. #2, January 2018, with 2 levels of artificial disc replacements & carbon fiber rods in Zurich Switzerland, is successful. She had purchased a pearl white full dress CanAm Spyder RTS in April of 2016.
After her second surgery she resumed riding again. Her smile has returned and with her Spyder, she’s in the wind again and comfortable. (Her walker was donated to Goodwill.)

REPORT FROM THE GEARHEAD DIARIES–I have seen a lot for a not too old guy. I have packed my wife on the back of a Shovelhead since 1978. I look at old Dave Mann prints and say to myself that that could be me.
I have been practically pushed down the grade by a Peterbuilt hauling logs with the air brake on in Big Sur, to TJ being chased by a bull off the side of the road in the mountains up north. Built some of the bike in the kitchen of the house, drove a chopper up a ramp into the house, hauled a chopper in a panel truck from downtown to Torrance with a strap holding doors together cause it’s too long.
The one thing that always sticks out in my mind with a lot of my stories is on a run to Death Valley in 1978 with some other brothers at the time. Love the desert in the Fall of the year. The Nuggets motorcycle club use to put this run on every year. Pulled over at a stop, for whatever, and seen the prettiest pearl white knuckle I have ever seen.
This is where the story gets strange. It was on a trailer being towed by a truck. Here is the strange, a bare backed biker riding on it while being towed and to boot he had a bota bag squirting a liquid substance in his mouth while flying in the wind down the road. A desert mirage? I doubt it, the other brothers seen it to.
The knuckle bobbed out and really clean for the period. The way a bobber should be built then or now.

NEWS FROM THE CLIMATE DEPOT–
A major problem in new media hyped ocean heat uptake paper: Serious ‘errors in the underlying calculations’
The findings of the Resplandy et al paper were peer-reviewed and published in the world’s premier scientific journal and were given wide coverage in the English-speaking media.
Despite this, a quick review of the first page of the paper was sufficient to raise doubts as to the accuracy of its results. Just a few hours of analysis and calculations, based only on published information, was sufficient to uncover apparently serious (but surely inadvertent) errors in the underlying calculations.
Moreover, even if the paper’s results had been correct, they would not have justified its findings regarding an increase to 2.0°C in the lower bound of the equilibrium climate sensitivity range and a 25% reduction in the carbon budget for 2°C global warming.
Because of the wide dissemination of the paper’s results, it is extremely important that these errors are acknowledged by the authors without delay and then corrected. Of course, it is also very important that the media outlets that unquestioningly trumpeted the paper’s findings now correct the record too.

Amendment 4: Voters approve measure to restore felons’ voting rights
The landmark measure restores voting rights to 1.2 million Floridians with felony convictions
About 1.2 million convicted felons in Florida will automatically have their right to vote restored, thanks to a ballot measure that received more than 64 percent of the vote Tuesday.
At least 60 percent of voters had to approve for Amendment 4 to become law.
For the past seven years, felons have had to wait five years after completing their sentence to even apply to have their voting rights restored.
The movement to reform the state’s notoriously strict restoration process was championed by the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition, a bipartisan group led by convicted felons. The group collected more than 800,000 signatures to qualify Amendment 4 for the 2018 ballot.
Approval of the amendment ends Florida’s outlier status as the state with the most people permanently barred from voting — only three other states ban felons from the polls for life.
Amendment 4 restores the right to vote to convicted felons who have completed all terms of their sentences, including probation and restitution, but excludes those who are convicted of murder or sex crimes. Those people will still be barred from voting unless their rights are restored by the state clemency board, which consists of the governor and the three cabinet officers (attorney general, chief financial officer and commissioner of agriculture and consumer services).
While the campaign had wide bipartisan support and little organized opposition, some candidates stated they did not support the measure.
Republicans like gubernatorial candidate Ron DeSantis and Gov. Rick Scott, nominee for U.S. Senate, said they were opposed.
Scott has said, “If you are a convicted felon part of what you did is you lose your rights and there ought to be a process to get those rights back. I think it is fair to the rest of the citizens of the state.”
Both Democratic opponents, Sen. Bill Nelson and Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum, supported Amendment 4.
Throughout the campaign, the ballot measure gained star-studded support from the likes of John Legend, Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream, NFL stars like Warrick Dunn and even the Koch-backed Freedom Partners.
Strong financial support came from donors like the American Civil Liberties Union, which paid for more than $5 million in advertising on TV and social media, in both English and Spanish.
One TV ad stars Gary Winston, a former Miami-Dade County attorney who permanently lost his right to vote.
Under the current process, felons must appeal to the state clemency board for a hearing. The board meets four times a year. The current process can take more than 10 years to complete and because of the restrictive laws, Florida once barred more former felons than any other state.

BOXING NEWS–360’s Promotion’s Tom Loeffler made several announcements recently. To his left sat the Nicaraguan champion boxer Ramon “Chocolito” Gonzalez. The flyweight boxer holds world titles in four weight classes. To his right, “the First Lady” of boxing Cecilia Breakhus.
Today’s Welterweight Champion is the “First Lady” of Boxing Cecila Braekhus 34-0 (9 KO’s). Its insane to think that the beautiful lady in front of you is deadly. Deadly and undefeated! Make no doubt about this babe. If you caught her last fight at Stub Hub it was ten rounds of bad assery! Its a wonder shes so easy on the eyes, the lady can take a punch!
She’s the #1 Pound for Pound Female Boxer in the World by Ring Magazine and the Boxing Writers Association of America and the first woman in any weight class to hold the WBA, WBC, IBF, and WBO titles simultaneously. Her athletic skills stand right next to the likes of Bernard Hopkins, being one of only 5 in history to ever hold all four titles.
Also in attendance was Cecilia’s trainer Jonathan Banks and HBO’s Tony Walker. The day was a formal announcement of a tribute show to HBO. Tom acknowledged the careers launched of greats like Oscar de la Hoya , Shay Mosley, Floyd Mayweather and many more. HBO was the first to air a female fight in 45 years. That alone will forever go down in history and is deserving of a tribute. For decades HBO has been the home of all the best famous boxing nights. Together with Stubhub Center’s tremendous arena, were in for a good show of boxing.
SALT FLATS UPDATE—Gary Maurer, a master car and motorcycle builder, called this morning. “I could have worked it into my schedule and had it done in less than a couple of years,” Gary said. “I have a Jr. dragster steering wheel and box. It’s in the mail to you today.”
I’m headed to the Long Beach Swapmeet this Sunday with Jeremiah. He’s looking for a radiator for his ’52 Chevy and I’ll be looking for dragster frame components. I need to make serious measurements before I head out.–Bandit

THE ELECTRIC HARLEY REPORT–
I promoted the Bikernet news about the Harley-Davidson Livewire announcement at EICMA with quite a few groups on social media. These riders in the group from USA and Europe have been riding motorcycles for more than 15 years and fans of Harley-Davidson since they heard and understood the word “motorcycle” in their childhood.
I will let you know if I hear back from anyone about their views and comments and those of ordinary people who just want to go out and ride and not be bothered with who makes what regarding brands / models / profits / taxes / laws / etc.
FIRST ELECTRIC MOTORCYCLE from Harley-Davidson would be in production and available for sale from 2019

I’M SURE THERE’S CONFUSION—But what the hell. Life is confusing, but at least more folks stepped up to make their voices heard.
Just goes to show, we must get the word out and vote. The next election will be a doozy. Maybe everyone will vote.
Just about as far as I’m gonna go with the F250. I’ll take a new shot for the Sunday Post. Wish me luck at the swap meet.
And fight for freedom, or die trying.
