Hey,
Another day in Paradise. I’m itching all over. I’m forced to read more reports about the EPA attacks on business. I don’t get it, but I’m just an old biker. Why would anyone want to attack your neighbors, put stress on employees, put businesses out of biz, fine your brothers and sisters and destroy whole industries.
You would think the government would step in and try to find balance and freedom for peace within our society. But no, regulation becomes the priority. Regulation against our own peeps, not even peeps in other countries. How does that make any sense?
At one time we lived in paradise, we partied and danced in the streets. Hell, we only had to fight for helmet choice freedoms. We could build what we wanted, when we wanted. At one time all I had to think about included finding another redhead and another bottle of Jack.
Let’s his the news:

VALERIE THOMPSON NAMED first female member of Bonneville 200 MPH Club Board of Directors–World’s Fastest Female Motorcycle Racer Appointed to Prestigious Land Speed Racing Board
The world’s fastest female motorcycle racer, Valerie Thompson, was appointed to the Bonneville 200 MPH Club board of directors during their recent meeting on January 28th at the National Hot Rod Association Museum in Pomona California.
Thompson is a seven-time land speed record holder, team owner/driver and member of six different land speed racing 200 MPH Clubs. She made history at the 2016 Bonneville Motorcycle Speed Trials, winning the “The Fastest Time of the Meet” award with a speed of 304.263 mph (489.6 KMH) piloting the Team “7” Racing streamliner. Thompson is the first female rider over 300 mph, earning the title of “Worlds Fastest Female Motorcycle Racer.”
Thompson joins 8 other board members who are responsible for the direction and business of the club. The Bonneville 200 MPH Club recognizes those drivers and motorcycle riders who are able to set class record over 200 MPH against an existing record or minimum. There are currently over 750 members since the founding of the club in 1953.
“We are delighted to have Valerie as our first female member of the board,” said Dan Warner, President. “Valerie’s many accomplishments, both on and off the track, make her a valuable new board member. I’m confident her unique insights and marketing expertise will be highly valued as we address a wide variety of issues for our members,” added Warner.
With a top speed of 208.812 mph, Thompson became a member of the Bonneville 200 MPH Club on her BMW S 1000 RR at the 28th Annual World of Speed event in September 2014.
The next meeting of the Bonneville 200 MPH Club board is scheduled for June in Pomona, CA. Her first two land speed records were accomplished with the 5-Ball Racing team aboard the World’s Fastest Panhead built by Keith Ball and his team of Bikernet Renegades.

EPA’s Grundler: VW emissions violations, fines a deterrent to auto industry
‘We need to avoid being too predictable in our compliance oversight’
Christopher Grundler, director of the EPA’s office of transportation and air quality, at the agency’s emissions laboratory in Ann Arbor, Mich., in July. Grundler said Wednesday that aggressive enforcement is key to automakers complying with emissions rules, adding “we need to avoid being too predictable in our compliance oversight
WASHINGTON — The massive fines paid by Volkswagen AG and criminal indictment of seven of the company’s executives are a “very strong deterrent” to cheating by other automakers, a senior career EPA official said on Wednesday.
Christopher Grundler, director of the EPA’s Office of Transportation and Air Quality, told reporters after remarks at a meeting of automotive engineers in Washington that the penalties have had a big impact.
“It gets everybody’s attention,” he said.
Asked if the EPA under President Donald Trump could reverse the Obama administration’s decision to finalize the 2022-25 vehicle greenhouse gas emissions limits in its final days, Grundler noted that EPA nominee Scott Pruitt told a Senate panel earlier this month he would review the decision.
“We will be prepared to brief him and his team on the work we did,” Grundler said, noting that a new EPA administrator can revisit a regulation but must follow the same process.
VW earlier this month agreed to plead guilty and pay $4.3 billion in U.S. civil and criminal fines to resolve its diesel emissions scandal. In total, VW has now agreed to spend up to $22 billion in the United States to address claims from owners, environmental regulators, states and dealers.
The EPA launched a new round of real-world compliance testing in September 2015 after VW, which prompted its findings that Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV were illegally using hidden software to allow excess diesel emissions to go undetected.
Fiat Chrysler has denied wrongdoing.

SAILOR’S SOFTAIL STOLEN— This is always something we hate to hear. A brother who lives on a boat in the Wilmington Marina keeps his pride and joy, his custom Softail in a gated area. BIKERS ROLL INTO TEXAS– With a Unified Voice: End Motorcycle Profiling
The roar of hundreds of motorcycles echoed through the halls of the Texas State Capitol in Austin. This year, January 23rd marked the day where bikers from all walks of life, representing all corners of Texas and beyond gathered together in unity to send a strong message to lawmakers: end the unconstitutional practice of motorcycle profiling.
Citing a survey issued by the Motorcycle Profiling Project completed last year, instances of profiling of motorcyclists is on the rise in the U.S. With a participation level of over 5,000 motorcyclists nation-wide, over 50% reported being unjustifiably stopped by police at least once while riding their motorcycles.
According to state laws passed in Washington and Maryland, motorcycle profiling is defined as, the arbitrary or illegal use of the fact that an individual rides a motorcycle or wears motorcycle-related attire as a factor in deciding to stop, question, take enforcement action, or make an arrest.
Dozens of other states have already introduced similar legislative proposals in 2017. Even the U.S. Congress addressed the issue in 2016 through the introduction of a bill in the House of Representatives. Though its unclear if the Texas legislature will introduce an anti-profiling bill, the dynamic between law enforcement and the motorcycle community continues to be tense after an incident in 2015 in the state that left nine people dead and hundreds arrested.
But despite the controversy in Texas, many see value in continuing to raise concerns over motorcycle profiling on a national scale; especially considering the outcome in the states that already passed anti-profiling laws. In Washington state, which passed their profiling measure in 2011, reported incidents of motorcycle profiling have dropped approximately 90 percent since legislation was signed into law. And in Maryland, though the law was only passed last year, preliminary reports suggest the number of incidents of motorcycle profiling are down.
Back in Austin, motorcyclists communicated these statistics to any lawmakers that would listen. “Riding a motorcycle or wearing a leather jacket doesn’t make me a criminal,” said Russell Radke, a member of the National Council of Clubs, the National Coalition of Motorcyclists, and a Member of the Board of Directors to the Motorcycle Riders Foundation. Radke is also International Vice President for the Soldiers for Jesus Motorcycle Club. “We need to send a strong message to lawmakers – unlawful profiling of motorcyclists will not be tolerated.”
The Motorcycle Riders Foundation (MRF) has led the fight in Washington, DC to bring awareness to the issue. Through work with its partners within the Anti-Profiling Action Group, the MRF will continue to advocate in 2017 for a national solution to end the practice of the profiling of motorcyclists and support its members at the state level in their own advocacy efforts.

BOSCH UNDER EPA FIRE– Bosch will disclose provisions related to VW diesel scandal in May
FRANKFURT — Robert Bosch will disclose provisions in May for costs related to its involvement in Volkswagen Group’s diesel-emissions scandal as the German supplier continues its probe into possible misconduct by employees.
“We started investigations right away in September 2015 and want to know in-depth what has happened,” CEO Volkmar Denner told journalists Thursday in Bosch’s home city of Stuttgart, Germany. “We had internal compliance systems before, of course, and we’re constantly reviewing them.”
Bosch, the world’s largest car-parts maker, supplied control software for the 2.0- and 3.0-liter diesel engines at the heart of Volkswagen’s emissions-test cheating scandal, though its exact involvement remains unclear.
Bosch reached an agreement in principle last month to largely resolve class action litigation at a U.S. federal court in San Francisco, but details won’t be disclosed until a definitive deal has been signed off by Judge Charles Breyer. The company said at the time that it neither acknowledged plaintiffs’ allegations nor accepted liability.
Denner confirmed that details of the settlement are due to be presented to Breyer at the end of the month. The closely held manufacturer is set to outline the provisions when it publishes detailed full-year earnings figures on May 4. Bosch employees aren’t subject to travel restrictions, Denner said when asked about the arrest of a VW manager in Miami earlier this month.

New York Myke at Trump Inauguration
I was in D.C. for the inauguration ceremony. We ride our bikes in and for the most part and got a nice welcome.
The Chief of Police and several of his officers pulled over where we were parked and welcomed us personally. There were a lot of civilians asking to have their picture taken with us.
We never made it to John Marshall Park. The rioters had the security check point choked and we couldn’t get through. There was a large presence of police and military there.
I don’t understand why these asshats weren’t being arrested. On our way out of town we were almost attacked by BLM rioters. One young black man stood between “them” and us, and shouted go go go, get out of here. God bless that young man. I hope he’s ok.

THE HUPY AND ABRAHAM INVESTIGATOR REPORT– I was with Jay Jackson in Michigan last weekend for the ABATE of Mich. State Seminar. I presented a workshop entitled “Activists, Regulators and Meri-go-rounds.”
He didn’t attend my workshops (2) so I assume he was sitting in on some others that were going on at the same time. Mine dealt with who we are (activists, freedom fighters and grass roots lobbyists), who the regulators are and what they are doing to harm our lifestyle (EPA, NHTSA, DOT, ATF, FBI), and the meri-go-rounds mention has to do with where I think this is all going.
I touched on the clean air act and global climate change, the myth and reality, but my final message was about autonomous vehicles, the intelligent highway system and whether or not motorcycles even fit in the picture for the future.
My fear is the only place to ride a motorcycle in the future might be the meri-go-round at a county fair. It was well received and would have been good for Jay to attend, since I’d be interested in his opinion. I think all the ethanol scares and the bragging about keeping helmet reinstatements at bay by the MRF, etc. are false bravado.
By 2025, all car-makers plan on manufacturing only autonomous vehicles. By 2030, the European Union wants a ban on all internal combustion vehicles. Meanwhile, Honda and BMW are already making motorcycles that can’t fall over and will follow you around like a puppy dog.
A little over 100 years ago, horse and buggy was a common site on the roads. Today, unless your Amish, there are no horse and buggies around. Is that the fate of motorcycles?
Or are going to have to settle for an electric, autonomous cycle that just takes us where we want to go by programing some guidance computer on board. To me, that’s taking a bus with handlebars, not riding a motorcycle.
I hope I’m wrong, but I think in a generation or two, motorcycles might go the way of the dinosaurs or at least the horse and buggy. My conclusion to my seminar; keep fighting for the few rights we still have and continue on course with our legislative agenda.
Meanwhile, as Jim Morrison said in song, “I’m going to go out and have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.”

The THIRD ANNUAL TWIN RIVERS CHOPPER CAMP OUT– is being held August 18-20th in Crumpler, NC.
Three days spent riding through the Appalachian mountains and two nights camping on the banks of the New River. August is a great time to ride in western NC with milder temperatures and less traffic as everyone flocks down to the beach for the end of summer. You can spend all day riding the twisties or kick back on a tube in the river with a cold one. Either way you’ll want to be back at the campground by dark for nightly bonfires, music, prizes and one hell of a party.

“yes, Sir! answers ole. The doctor goes hunting and returns the following day and asks:“So, Ole, how was your day?
Ole told him that he took care of three patients. “The first one had a headache so I gave him TYLENOL.”
“Bravo, mate, and the second one?” asks the doctor.
“The second one had stomach burning and I gave him MAALOX, sir,” says Ole.
“Bravo, bravo! You’re good at this and what about the third one?” asks the Doctor.
“Sir, I was sitting here and suddenly the door opens and a woman enters. Like a flame, she undresses herself, taking off everything including her panties and lies down on the table and shouts:‘HELP ME – I haven’t seen a man in over two years!!’”
“Tunderin’ Lard Yeezus, Ole, What did you do?” asks the doctor.

HOGS FOR HEROES– started in 2015 by four family members, none of whom served, has a simple mission: we raise funds to purchase Harleys for Wisconsin Veteran riders injured during the course of active duty.
In an effort to enhance their healing and readjustment with a different form of therapy: that of The Road. We believe the freedom of the road, the collegiality of riders and the pride and peace found in ownership can support the healing for those Veterans who have long enjoyed the passion for riding and now find themselves without means to do so.
I know you fully understand the benefits of The Ride in which we speak of.
Our focus is strictly on our Wisconsin Veterans; purposefully designed in an effort to “take care of our own” in a controlled manner and in line with our limited resources. Who knows what the future holds, but for right now we are very content with our manageable plan.
Our exciting news is that we have reached our next financial threshold for purchasing another Harley!
We will be opening up our application period sometime this February and begin searching for our next Wisconsin Veteran to get back out on that healing road. This will be the THIRD Veteran we have put back on the road in a one year’s time period— amazing! We aim to gift the bike sometime in May/early June; that determination, however, is based on the Veteran’s scheduling needs and is not likely to be determined until May.
As we must raise the next $20,000 before we can look for another Veteran, it is highly unlikely that we would be able to award another bike this summer at Sturgis, nor are we sure it is the right match for our Wisconsin roots.

BEWARE– Green movement ‘greatest threat to freedom’, says Trump adviser.
The environmental movement is “the greatest threat to freedom and prosperity in the modern world”, according to an adviser to the US president Donald Trump’s administration.
Myron Ebell, who has denied the dangers of climate change for many years and led Trump’s transition team for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) until the president’s recent inauguration, also said he fully expected Trump to keep his promise to withdraw the US from the global agreement to fight global warming.
Ebell said US voters had rejected what he dubbed the “expertariat” and said there was no doubt that Trump thinks that climate change is not a crisis and does not require urgent action.
Trump has already replaced the climate change page on the White House website with a fossil-fuel-based energy policy, resurrected two controversial oil pipelines and attempted to gag the EPA, the Agriculture Department and the National Parks Service.
Trump, who has called climate change a “hoax” and “bullshit”, has packed his administration with climate-change deniers but appeared to soften his stance after his election win, saying there is “some connectivity” between human activity and climate change. However, he also claimed action to cut carbon emissions was making US companies uncompetitive.
Ebell, who has returned to his role at the anti-regulation think-tank the Competitive Enterprise Institute, said on Monday: “The environmental movement is, in my view, the greatest threat to freedom and prosperity in the modern world.”
The CEI does not disclose its funders but has in the past received money from the oil giant ExxonMobil. “Our special interest is, I would say, freedom,” Ebell said.
During the US presidential campaign, Trump pledged to withdraw from the climate change deal agreed by 196 nations in Paris in 2015, making the US the only country considering doing so. “I expect President Trump to be very assiduous in keeping his promises,” Ebell said.
Ebell, speaking in London, claimed that the motivation for climate action was protecting a special interest: “The climate-industrial complex is a gigantic special interest that involves everyone from the producers of higher priced energy to the academics that benefit from advancement in their careers and larger government grants.” The IMF has calculated that fossil fuels receive $10m every minute in subsidies, while the fossil fuel industry spends at least $100m a year on lobbying.

MRF ALERT, Members, Friends & Supporters– As you know, we have been working in Washington to sound the alarm concerning the outrageous makeup of the Motorcyclist Advisory Council in which the Federal Highway Administration has called for ONE seat out of TEN to be filled by a motorcyclist.
With your help, we have spent the last 2 weeks contacting our legislators letting them know about this injustice. Almost 1,100 people have taken the time to write their legislators asking for their support.
Our voice has been heard.
Currently, the House of Representatives is preparing to send a letter to the newly confirmed Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao asking her to delay the implementation of the MAC until a fair and balanced composition can be reached. This bipartisan letter is being led by Congressman Tim Walberg of Michigan and Mark Pocan of Wisconsin. Now would be a good time to reach out to your legislator and ask them to sign on to this letter which will be sent THIS WEEK.
In the Senate, Senators Dan Sullivan of Alaska and Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin are also working on a similar letter, BUT WE NEED MORE SENATORS TO SIGN ON! To this end, below is our list of target offices we would like to be added as signatories. Though we want as many Senators as possible to sign on, these are the offices that have received the most constituent mail on this issue and are therefore most likely to sign on.
I have included the email address for the staffer below – if you live in a state listed below, please send the staffer a brief email asking them to sign on to the Senate letter being led by Senators’ Sullivan and Baldwin to
urge the Secretary of Transportation to delay the implementation of the MAC until a fair and balanced composition can be reached. They can contact me MEGAN@MRF.ORG or 202-725-5471 with any questions.

DA JUDGE in environmental activist’s trial says climate change is matter of debate– Controversial statements angered environmentalists who insist courts have an obligation to recognize the science about manmade climate change.
A Washington state judge has sparked outrage for remarks questioning the existence of climate change and the role of humans in global warming.
During the high-profile trial of Ken Ward, a climate activist facing 30 years in prison for shutting down an oil pipeline, Judge Michael E Rickert said: “I don’t know what everybody’s beliefs are on [climate change], but I know that there’s tremendous controversy over the fact whether it even exists. And even if people believe that it does or it doesn’t, the extent of what we’re doing to ourselves and our climate and our planet, there’s great controversy over that.”
The Skagit County judge made the comments on 24 January while addressing Ward’s request to present a “necessity defense” in court, meaning he would argue that the grave threat of climate change justified civil disobedience.
Rickert’s controversial statements, along with his decision to block Ward from arguing that his pipeline protest was necessary to prevent harm to the planet, angered environmentalists who insist that American courts have an obligation to recognize the science and consensus among researchers about man-made climate change.
“I thought it was shocking and deeply worrisome for my case,” said Ward, 60, of Corbett, Oregon, who temporarily shut off the safety valve of the TransMountain pipeline in Skagit County. “We are in the late stages of global collapse, and to have someone who is presumably as knowledgeable and aware as a judge should be blithely dismissing the biggest problem facing the world is chilling.”
Ward, whose trial began on Monday, is part of a group of activists that targeted oil sands pipelines in Washington, Oregon, North Dakota, Montana and Minnesota on 11 October 2016. The coordinated #ShutItDown actions – which have led to a dozen criminal cases and threats of hefty prison sentences against activists and journalists – was aimed at stopping 15% of US crude oil imports for a day.
A crime justified by climate change? Activists caught in legal showdown.
In courtrooms across the US, the activists are pushing to argue that these disruptions are a last resort given political inaction and are “legally justified to avoid the catastrophic harm caused to humanity by unprecedented climatic disruption”.
The legal battles are building on a historic Washington state case last year in which a judge for the first time permitted US climate activists to argue that a criminal act of civil disobedience was committed out of necessity.
The activists known as the Delta Five, who blocked an oil train near Seattle, claimed that their actions were a moral imperative and relied on testimony from climate scientists to bolster their case. The protesters lost in court, though the judge praised them as “part of the solution to the problem of climate change”.
There have been some victories for the necessity defense in the UK and in Massachusetts where a prosecutor in 2014 dropped charges against Ward and another activist who blocked a coal shipment, stating that “climate change is one of the gravest crises our planet has ever faced”.
But Rickert, an elected judge in Skagit county, north of Seattle, sided with state prosecutors who argued against the necessity defense and have alleged that Ward, co-founder of Climate Disobedience Center, committed burglary, criminal trespass and sabotage.
Rickert also claimed that a single pipeline disruption would make no difference in any “disaster” in our environment, saying, “The actual harm to be avoided is not avoided at all. All that happens is a valve is turned.”

REVIVAL ASCOT FT500– A client who is a new rider wanted a lightweight, fun to ride motorcycle with just the right amount of flash and lots of subtle custom features. Starting with the underrated Honda FT500 Ascot was a big challenge, but it offered electric start, a big 500cc single cylinder thumper engine with lots of torque, steady reliability, and it’s lightweight. Most of all, it is perfect for a new rider as it’s nimble and super easy to fling around.
Team Revival had an old Ascot laying around that another builder had ‘started’ to customize by cutting the frame backbone and then simply never finished. With a good motor, a title and some determination we set out turn it into something pretty….which is no easy task as the Ascot wasn’t exactly beautiful to begin with.

Sheriff: Video shows ‘thieving idiot’ deputy stealing money
DAYTONA BEACH – A central Florida sheriff’s deputy has resigned after body camera video apparently showed him taking money from a man’s wallet while arresting him on suspicion of DUI.
John Braman stepped down Monday after body cam video of the Aug. 1 incident clearly showed the deputy going through what appears to be a wallet and tossing something out. The wallet is put in an evidence pouch and a $100 bill is visible nearby.
Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood says they’ve had several complaints recently about Braman stealing money from the wallets of people he arrested. Chitwood calls Braman a “thieving idiot.”
Attorney Flem Whited tells the Daytona Beach News-Journal the video surfaced in a case involving one of his clients. He notified investigators.
A phone number wasn’t available for Braman.

GRAND NATIONAL SHOW WINNERS– Bruce Wanta’s Mullholland Speedster Wins 2017 AMBR Award–Every year at the world’s longest running indoor car show, The Grand National Roadster Show, America’s Most Beautiful Roadster (AMBR) is selected. Considered one of the top vintage car awards in the country, the AMBR highlights a weekend where over 400 individual awards are presented in a closing ceremony on the last day of the event which is always Sunday.
This year’s winner of the prestigious AMBR award was really no surprise considering the week-long buzz about the car. Bellevue, Washington’s Bruce Wanta, along with the build team at Troy Ladd’s Hollywood Hot Rods, prepared an incredible 1936 Packard Roadster that was heavily modified – including a retractable roof – to earn the highest honor from the show.
The Packard is called the Mulholland Speedster, was selected as the best open hot rod in the country for 2017. Presented the nine and a half-foot tall perpetual trophy, Ladd places his name alongside previous winners like George Barris, Andy Brizio, Boyd Coddington, Barry White and Chip Foose. Ladd and his team was also presented with a a $10,000 prize money check for their handiwork.
New to the Grand National Roadster Show for 2017 was the inaugural Pete Chapouris Memorial Award presented by Vintage Air. Pete Chapouris’ unexpected passing earlier this month led to the naming of this new award that recognizes the builder which best honors the style and customs of traditional hot rodding. The first recipient of the Pete Chapouris Memorial Award was presented to Matt Gordon for his ’32 Ford Roadster.
Ken Reister’s Chip Foose-designed Xpression motorcycle won America’s Most Beautiful Motorcycle award.
Ken Reister took America’s Most Beautiful Motorcycle award, which recognizes the top custom motorcycle with a radically designed or hand-built frame and/or sheet metal. The Colorado builder Reister built the Chip Foose-designed Xpression motorcycle that matches Foose’s 2007 AMBR-winning Impression roadster.
The Al Slonaker Memorial Award was the final special recognition award of the event and was awarded to the vehicle that the judges felt displayed the best originality, craftsmanship, and engineering outside of the AMBR contenders. This year, it was Ron Manier and his 1957 Chevrolet Nomad which impressed the judges enough to take home the trophy and $1,000 in prize money.
LANE SPLITTING BILL IN TEXAS– Letting people in Texas know about this might help get it passed.
http://bikerdigital.com/proposal-allow-motorcycle-lane-splitting-back-session/
AUSTIN — It’s commonly called “lane splitting” when motorcyclists drive between traffic lanes on highways during major congestion. Supporters of Senate Bill 288 say the legislation allowing lane splitting would help ease traffic congestion in the Austin area.
“We’re asking for common sense items that will make it safer for the community,” says Austin motorcyclist Steven Cochran, one of dozens of bikers who rallied at the Texas State Capitol Monday afternoon.
“If we have lane filtering approved, and 20 percent of the vehicles are motorcycles, they’re not involved in any traffic congestion, they leave.”
According to the proposal, bikers couldn’t go faster than 20 miles per hour when passing vehicles. And they could only drive between cars on highways with exits.
However, since motorcyclists wouldn’t be in marked traffic lanes, some drivers say the move could cause more crashes. “I don’t think that would be a good idea at all, I think you would have more dead motorcyclists in this city,” explains Austin driver Joshua Brown. “I don’t want to be the reason why he has a head trauma because I decided to get over and stop traffic and didn’t see him coming down the middle.”

NEW SCREAMIN’ EAGLE STAGE IV KITS TAKE MILWAUKEE-EIGHT PERFORMANCE TO THE LIMIT–
Boost Horsepower by Up To 52 Percent Over Stock and Gain Stump-Pulling Torque
Tune a Harley-Davidson Milwaukee-Eight® engine to the max with a potent new street-legal Screamin’ Eagle® Milwaukee-Eight Stage IV Kit available now from Harley-Davidson® Genuine Motor Parts & Accessories.
Delivering a boost in both displacement and air flow through the engine, these complete kits were developed to deliver maximum horsepower from the Milwaukee-Eight engine all the way to redline while retaining a high level of factory-engineered smoothness, ride quality and reliability.
“We’ve designed this amazing Screamin’ Eagle Stage IV kit for the performance fanatic,” said Harley-Davidson Senior Product Manager Scott Miller. “Big-bore cylinders, a monster throttle body, ported heads, and a high-lift cam combine to deliver stump-pulling torque throughout the rpm range and up to 52 percent more power than the stock Milwaukee-Eight engine.
“The Screamin’ Eagle Milwaukee-Eight Stage IV Kit is a system-matched collection of components created by the same Harley-Davidson engineering team that designed and developed the Milwaukee-Eight engine,” said Miller. “Upgrading the engine with genuine H-D parts supports a performance gain without sacrificing warranty, drivability or reliability. There are no compromises.”
Factory-Engineered Components
Screamin’ Eagle Milwaukee-Eight ported cylinder heads are a key component of the Screamin’ Eagle Milwaukee-Eight Stage IV Kit. Based on a unique Screamin’ Eagle casting, these cylinder heads optimize air/fuel flow when paired with a Screamin’ Eagle 64mm throttle body.
The ports are meticulously machined on a five-axis CNC machine to increase the volume and velocity of the intake charge for improved efficiency of cylinder filling and to maximize the effect of exhaust scavenging. The Screamin’ Eagle ported heads are equipped with high-performance valve springs that remain stable with high-lift cams in high-RPM operation.
The SE8-515 camshaft, designed in conjunction with the Screamin’ Eagle Milwaukee-Eight Stage IV Kit, offers a high-lift and long-duration profile to efficiently fill the combustion chamber and retain 50-state street-legal emissions compliance. Screamin’ Eagle 4.075-inch bore bolt-on cylinders and matching pistons increase displacement of Milwaukee-Eight 107 engines to 114 cubic inches, and take Milwaukee-Eight 114 engines to 117 cubic inches. The Screamin’ Eagle Milwaukee-Eight Stage IV Kit can be installed without removing the engine from the chassis.
Complete Screamin’ Eagle Milwaukee-Eight Stage IV Kit components include:
•Screamin’ Eagle CNC Ported Cylinder Heads with Performance Valve Springs
•Screamin’ Eagle 64mm Throttle Body
•Screamin’ Eagle High Flow Injectors (5.5g/s)

UNCLE MONKEY ON NEW PROJECTS– The problem with big projects is we’re eager to put tool to metal and get things rolling. It is in this hast that we make our biggest mistakes.
We overlook small details just looking at the big picture but the devil is in the details, the devil is in the cost. We often have to keep a budget in mind – some of us should be thinking of a budget. What looks good on paper and principal often ends up costing way more and taking more time then is feasible for the project.
It is the discipline to step back and take some time to think the project through, to wait for those things we forgot or overlooked to percolate to the top so that we can focus on them.
It is the planning stage where success really starts. It is laying out a clear map of what has to happen, when and where that drives a project forward. You only have to look at the wires behind your entertainment center to know what I’m talking about. We start off just making simple point-to-point connections but sooner rather than later they start criss-crossing their way into that tangled mess you were trying to avoid in the first place.
Only with laying it out before hand can you form a clear image. You discover those missed connections that throw everything into chaos. It means throwing the whole plan away and starting over, sometimes several times until you finally reach the desired result.
I know it is tempting to knee jerk to get things done but success is subtle. Projects are always bigger than we think, more costly than we think. Only planning can minimize those variables.
Too often projects are left orphaned, disassembled and in the weeds. So take the time to plan, to think, to paint the detailed picture of what we really want.

CONTROVERSY OF THE WEEK– Harley Davidson Cancels Visit of President Donald Trump
Harley Davidson cancels visit of President Donald Trump to its Milwaukee factory amidst concern over probable protest
American motorcycle manufacturer, Harley- Davidson, has cancelled an organized trip of new US President Donald Trump to the brand’s Milwaukee plant over potential protest concern.
Trump was expected to sign an executive order relating to American manufacturing there. In response to Donald Trump’s controversial immigration plan, protests are taking place across America. To avoid any such thing in front of the plant, H-D cancelled US President’s trip.
Apart from signing an executive order, President Donald Trump was also scheduled to tour the factory. The visit was not publicly announced, but White House staff have been there setting up for the tour. Interestingly, three former US Presidents – Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton have visited the plants of Harley in the past.

AS IT TURNS OUT– Trump meets with Harley, says bikers were ‘with me all the way’
The Associated Press
President Donald Trump says bikers were with him all the way during his campaign.
Trump met a group from Harley-Davidson Thursday after they rolled up to the south lawn of the White House. He greeted the five bikers warmly, saying, “Made in America, Harley-Davidson.”
Trump added that during the campaign, bikers “were with me all the way.”
But he did not hop on for a ride. Trump joked to the journalists gathered to watch the welcome: “Boy, would you like to see me fall off one of these!”
Earlier this week, Trump cancelled a Thursday trip to Wisconsin, where Harley-Davidson is located.
