Hey,
This is crazy. I once said we were going to take August off each year, roll to Sturgis and relax, but you know it ain’t possible. The internet eats you alive. Content and action flies at us everyday. If we don’t keep up, it piles up like local grown vegetables in a restaurant pantry. If I don’t use them they go stale, quick.
Next week we have a number of stellar features headed your way. We are going to bring you a report on Florida falling accident statistics and the reasons why–it’s amazing, and their helmet law was repealed several years ago.
We will bring you an S&S tech from Bennett’s Performance in Long Beach. Next door John O’Keefe is keeping the Branch Flowmetrics Code alive with the finest headwork on the planet. Cams and Branch O’keefe heads can turn a stock 80 evo into over 100 horse monster. John is also helping the brothers at Spyke pull STD back together.
STD will live again with the help of Billy McCahill and the Spyke/CompuFire crew. Another tech on a Saddlemen service is being polished. Saddlemen offers modified seats for tall riders and short bikers. They will make you a seat that pushes you forward, like our test subject, or affords more leg room. You’ll see it next week, along with some snippets from the Badlands. Let’s hit it.

SUNDAY CANTINA BREAK– It was entertainment night at the Bikernet Cantina, and Claude the Hypnotist was the featured attraction.
“I’m here to put you all into a trance,” Claude announced. “I intend to hypnotize each and every member of the audience.”
The excitement was electric as Claude withdrew a beautiful antique pocket watch from his coat. The polished metal gleamed in the light.
“I want you to keep your eyes on this antique watch. It’s a very special watch. It’s been in my family for six generations.”
He began to swing the watch gently back and forth while quietly chanting, “Watch the watch, watch the watch, watch the watch…”
The Cantina crowd was mesmerized as the watch swayed back and forth, light shimmering off its polished surface. Hundreds of pairs of eyes followed the swaying watch, until suddenly it slipped from the hypnotist’s fingers and fell to the floor, shattering into a hundred pieces.
“Shit!” exclaimed Claude.
It took Bandit and his crew three days to clean up the Cantina.

AUSTIN REPORT FROM BACK IN THE DAY– This was the reason I came to Austin, this is the place I got my nick-name. If you were a biker in those days this is where you went, cold Lone Star, hot college chicks. Had some good times and some bad. One of my best friends and fellow bouncer and artist Ken Fetherston was shot and killed in the line of duty by a mental patient that we had thrown out of the bar, came back and shot at us and hit Ken in the head. The Hippy days ended that day, from then on the ass holes went to jail or the hospital!

Our good friends came to drive us to the plane and off we went. The weather was clear the entire way. Zach being in Sturgis was checking into how he was going to get there, Al from Mustang seats came thru for him and flew him to Cleveland. We can’t thank you enough. Now the wait to make sure the lung they took is still good, found out it was and be would go in at 5:00 for the 5 hour surgery. Zach and Jill sit in the waiting area struggling with no sleep, but will keep you all posted.

Dr just came out to tell us he did very good during surgery. He is of course vented coming out, but they actually will try to get him off this later today. He will be in ICU for quite a few days. Zach and I will stay right next door for now. We don’t get any information on the donor, but thank god there are people that believe in this. Today there were two lives saved, someone else received the right lung, while John received the left. We have a long road to recovery with the anti-rejection medicine that he will now be on. This medicine actually tricks your system to accept the transplant. During all of this we all have certainly learned a lot about friends and family and what is important in life. We will survive and thank you to all because we all know that the number of prayers happening especially all last night, is what has gotten us through.

THE HITS KEEP COMING–We are working on a Daytona Twin Tech WEGO install right now in the Bikernet shop. This allows anyone to install 02 sensors in their exhaust and monitor you air/fuel mixture. We need this puppy for final Pegasus fuel injection adjustments, before we head to the salt.
Okay, I need to find an hour to relax today, since next week we will run the Assalt Weapan on the Bennett’s Performance Dyno, I’ll pick up the Peashooter powder coating, and hope the remaining parts fly into the Headquarters. I need the Assalt Weapan rolling next week and the Peashooter flying together for Bonneville.
Have a terrific week,
–Bandit
