Hey,
It’s been sorta hot on the coast and I’m sure the desert near Three Palms (the rest, 26, burnt down), California and Vegas is smokin’ hot. The south is under water and it had to be caused because someone bailed out the auto industry and they’ve sold too many cars causing global warming, climate change and devastation. It had to be our fault.
The earth has been perfect for millions of years until we came along and lite the first bonfire, cooked meat and the rest is history…
I have another one to consider. I keep reading about radical Muslims and the blame game. Power hungry humans have made every historic mistake possible in the desire to expand their religions or power. Most have ultimately had their asses handed to them.
But I sense the current issue is not about religion or history, but population. Two many folks on the planet and you’re bound to find splinter groups. Hell, they need something to do. So, can we give them something positive to do? Of course, and I have something to add at the end…
Let’s hit the news.
5-BALL RACING LEATHER REVIEW FROM THE TEXAS FLOODS IN HOUSTON– Figured I’d send you a couple of picks of my Special Ops Vest in the “real world” since the website only shows actors.
Except my arms are only so long and I’m too ugly to have a cute, curvy camera holder. Another reason I took the helmet and it’s Lovebug season, but they all have disappeared due to Harvey.
Won’t lie, this was its first use, although my old one was leather as well, the new one is so Shiny! And summer in Texas, is Summer in Texas 100+ degrees.
Kimber fits nice, but I may have lost today’s winning lottery ticket in one of the many pockets.
Hope the friend you mentioned is ok! I know of seven folks and families who lost their homes. I’m sure I’ll hear from others.

Royal Enfield Launches Enfield Support
A Telephone Helpline for all things Enfield – an industry first in India
Call 1800 210 0007 (9 AM – 9 PM)
São Paulo, Brazil: Royal Enfield, the fastest growing motorcycle brand in the world announced opening of its second direct distribution subsidiary outside India, in Brazil, the fourth biggest two wheeler market in the world.

New Redditch Colours on Enfield
Redditch Red, Redditch Green and Redditch Blue are the new colors offered on Enfield Classic 350
Royal Enfield monogram -the mark of the heritage goes back to its roots in Redditch.
In the 1950s, the Royal Enfield factory experimented with many colours on their motorcycles, some subtle, others bold. In the later part of the decade, three distinctive tones of green, red and blue appeared on the Crusader, Clipper, Bullet and Meteor Minor models. These strong, striking shades emphasised the elegant contours and modern design of the machines. In 2017, the new range of Classic 350s brings back that era with colourways that take their cue from these original tones. Complete with the monogram that is synonymous with many of the fine motorcycles of the period, this new collection is reminiscent of a decade that was a great time for Royal Enfield.
The iconic Royal Enfield monogram first appeared in 1939 on the tank of the prototype 125cc 2-stroke motorcycle, called ‘Royal Baby’. The outbreak of WWII saw the model transform into the now legendary ‘Flying Flea’ paratroopers motorcycle, which still proudly wore its RE tank badge. Subsequently, the Redditch mark was flanked by a wing design, and was proudly adopted by the Royal Enfield Classic in 2008. Carrying the legacy forward, the original Redditch RE insignia has now been revived expressly for use on Royal Enfield Classic 350s with Redditch colourways.
Check out the new color and insignia on Enfield Classic from Redditch, UK, 15 miles south of Birmingham, a town heard around the world even today. Redditch came to prominence during the Industrial Revolution, earning a worldwide reputation for its needles and fishing tackle. The earliest Royal Enfields, sturdily engineered bicycles produced there in the 1890s, were equipped with an engine in 1901 making them the first motorcycles to be rolled out of Redditch. Thereafter the town earned a permanent place in British motorcycling history. Production at Royal Enfield’s Hewell Road factory may have ceased in 1967 but the company’s Redditch years still have a palpable effect on the look and feel of a Royal Enfield today.

Enfield Underground – A Place of Enfield
In 1942, at the height of the Second World War, a Royal Enfield underground factory was established in abandoned stone quarries at Westwood near Bradford upon Avon in rural Wiltshire. Many skilled machinists were drafted in from Redditch to make precision parts on drills, gear cutting machinery, welding rigs and capstan lathes.
The factory’s location in a bombproof shelter safe enough for the art of the Empire was due to the fact that Royal Enfield manufactured components for anti-aircraft guns including predictors for accurate control of anti-aircraft weapons. Other precision items produced at Westwood included oil motors for operating searchlights and Bofors anti-aircraft guns as well as pump units for operating the gun turrets of tanks. Such was the skill level at the facility that parts were also fabricated for the control mechanisms of rockets and instruments being produced for the fledgling British atomic programme.
The premises was state of the art, employing devices such as anti-smoke alarms and air-conditioning with humidity control, both unheard of back in 1942. There was even a room where workers received a much needed UV supplement, courtesy of sun lamps, as they spent so much time underground. As the majority of British men had enlisted in the armed services, most of the employees at Westwood were women and many of them had to be trained by the ‘old hands’ from Redditch.
Enfield had completely halted civilian motorcycle production and developing specialised military motorcycles like the ‘Flying Flea’. Due to its lightweight and specially constructed parachute cage, this 126cc 2-stroke motorcycle could be dropped behind enemy lines, providing crucial mobility and communications for paratroops, most famously at the Battle of Arnhem in 1944.
Other Royal Enfield motorcycles were much in demand by the armed forces, most notably the WD/D 250cc sidevalve, WD/C 350cc sidevalve and WD/CO 350cc overhead valve, the WD standing for War Department. These hardy machines were used extensively by Royal Corps of Signals despatch riders who were entrusted with delivering crucial messages across all theatres of war as well as back at home. Riding at night, including when on convoy escort duty, was also perilous as blackout restrictions forced the riders to travel with a light no more powerful than a glowworm.
After the war, the Royal Enfield Underground factory continued to manage parts, and eventually, complete motorcycles. Under the control of a newly formed company, Enfield Precision Engineering, the facility solely manufactured Interceptor motorcycles between 1967 and its closure in 1970.

BIKERNET CONTRIBUTORS STUDIES NEW SOFTAILS–
Captured some shots of what I’m talking about with them messing up the flow of the A-arm swingarm on the softies in that they didn’t carry the tube downwards from the rear axle like in previous years.
I guess they’re trying to save weight and/or increase clearance but man, I don’t like that new look at all. It would stand out especially bad if you got a chromed lower belt guard on there.
Guess it’s just academic for me, but I still have eyes in my head, so it does “bother” me.

DIRECT REPORT FROM BONNEVILLE MOTORCYCLE INTERNATIONAL SPEED TRIAL LAST WEEK–
It was a great time but very challenging. We had many electrical glitches and made one run just under 200 mph. The run didn’t feel right and I just rode it out for seat time.
It was a horrible track at the end of the event but that’s to be expected.
We are trying to attend Mike Cook’s shootout Sept 19-24 – I’m crossing fingers toes and eyes we can make it. 🙂

I have a small clutch cable adjustment. Install the Love Jugs head cooling system. We need to have new brake lines made for the front end at Baker’s Performance fittings in Signal Hill. He needs a new seat from Saddlemen. We need to unscramble some wiring and wire in the new Lowbrow taillight. And we have a set of Lindby bars to install.
Hang on for future reports.

BOOK OF THE WEEKEND CLUB— NEW BUDDHISM read: Why Buddhism is True: The Science and Philosophy of Meditation and Enlightenment.
By Robert Wright, he has come to the conclusion that Buddhism is “true” in the sense that its particular diagnosis of the human predicament is correct and provable, and the prescription it offers for that predicament is urgently needed.

SUPPORT TEXAS– Hurricane Harvey Relief
As you all know… Texas was hit by Hurricane Harvey which made landfall as a category four hurricane… the largest hurricane to hit the area in decades. Port Aransas, Rockport, Corpus Christi, Houston and so many other places are going to be dealing with so much damage and loss of life for a long time to come.
I have friends and family there and I’m almost certain my house down there may have to be torn down as it was in one of the areas that was hardest hit by winds and flooding…
But that’s the least of my concerns. I’m worried about the people there – my friends, family and neighbors – and I want to help.
I’m pledging $100,000 to benefit the Red Cross in an effort to help everyone in Texas that has been affected by this hurricane. All donations will be routed through the Chris Young Foundation to distribute directly to Harvey relief through the Red Cross and other disaster relief organizations.
Love you guys and every little bit helps. In times like these, you turn to your friends to help those in need and that’s exactly what I’m doing. I hope you’ll donate… and Texas…we love you.

QUICK, OPEN THE BIKERNET BAD JOKE LIBRARY– This actually happened to an Englishman, in France, who was totally drunk.
A French policeman stops the Englishman’s car and asks if he has been drinking. With great difficulty, the Englishman admits that he has been drinking all day, that his daughter got married that morning, and that he drank champagne and a few bottles of wine at the reception, and many single malts scotches thereafter.
Quite upset, the policeman proceeds to alcohol-test (breath test) the Englishman and verifies that he is indeed completely hammered. He asks the Englishman if he knows why, under French Law, he is going to be arrested. The Englishman answers with a bit of humor, “No sir, I do not! But while we’re asking questions, do you realize that this is a British car and my wife is driving . . . on the other side?

ACCIDENT DEAL OF THE WEEK– $1.35 Million for Injured Motorcycle Passenger
In May 2017, Attorney Jason F. Abraham‘s client was a passenger on a motorcycle. The driver of her motorcycle began to operate the motorcycle at an excessive rate of speed approaching an intersection.
At that time, an SUV approached and was making a left-hand turn in front of the motorcycle. A horrific crash occurred and both occupants of the motorcycle were ejected. Following the accident, engineering experts determined that the motorcycle was traveling at approximately 82 miles an hour in a 30-mile an hour zone at the time of the crash.
As a result of this accident, the motorcycle operator was killed. Attorney Abraham’s client suffered catastrophic injuries and had her arm traumatically amputated. The operator of the motorcycle only carried a $100,000.00 policy limit. The operator of the SUV carried $1,250,000.00 of coverage.
After hiring experts and being involved in intensive negotiations, Attorney Abraham was able to convince the SUV driver’s insurance company to pay their 1.25 million dollar limits. The insurance company for the motorcycle operator also paid their $100,000.00.
This settlement will allow Attorney Abraham’s client to adapt to her disabilities following the accident and have a fresh start. She was extremely grateful of all the hard work done by Hupy and Abraham.

Gigantic TRIKE Dealer gets BIGGER!–
Fort Myers mainstay Haus of Trikes and Bikes has announced its decision to expand showroom and service center to over 30,000 square feet.
Fort Myers based Haus of Trikes and Bikes has released plans to expand its facility to nearly 30,000 square feet into the adjacent building. Their current facility on 4601 Fowler Street has been serving local bikers for 18 years, selling new/used motorcycles and trikes as well as providing repairs and rentals.
Owners Manfred Glanzner and Herbert Baum have acquired the former MICHIGAN HOMES office building and adjacent warehouses next to their current location and plan to open the newly renovated facility in October of 2017. The plans will expand the showroom from 5,000 to over 30,000 square feet making it one of the biggest motorcycle and trike showroom in Southwest Florida.
“We felt that it was time for us to expand after so many years. The increasing demand for trikes, bikes, service and rentals for the last decade made it an easy decision for us to grow our infrastructure.”
“We saw the opportunity with the warehouse next door and decided to go for it!” says owner Manfred Glanzner.
The service area will grow to 4,000 square feet, servicing all V-Twins such as Harley Davidson, Victory and Indian bikes as well as all other metric brands. The state-of-the-art two-story facility will always showcase over 200 bikes and trikes
This expansion comes in a timely manner as owner Herbert Baum explains “Over the years we have outgrown the existing facility and besides the fact that we are Florida?s largest Trike Dealer, we also have recently become an officially authorized retailer for Royal Enfield – the only one in Southwest Florida. This and the fact that we are working on inquiring other interesting Motorcycle brands for the Ft.Myers area, deserves a brand new, modern facility”.
Established in 1893, Royal Enfield is the oldest motorcycle brand in the world still in production, with the Bullet model enjoying the longest motorcycle production run of all time. Royal Enfield sold over 600,000 motorcycles worldwide in 2016. The Grand Opening is planned for this Fall and will include live music, food and specials.

AUSTRALIAN CLUB NEWS– South Australian association case delayed to await outcome of government bill to close loophole.
A South Australian motorcycle club association case has been delayed for three months because lawyers are awaiting the outcome of a State Government Bill that would close a legal loophole open to the defendants
On Monday, the Adelaide Magistrates Court was told the case against the three suspected bikers — whose identities have been suppressed — would need to be delayed to see whether the Bill was enacted.
At present, a biker can argue the club he belongs to is not a criminal organisation, putting the onus on police to prove otherwise — even though the same motorcycle club has been declared a criminal organisation by parliament under the Serious and Organised Control Act.
In June, Attorney-General John Rau moved to amend the legislation so it would ensure police and prosecution authorities “were able to use it more effectively”.
Two association cases — one involving Hells Angels members — have already collapsed in SA because of the loophole.
The prosecutor told Magistrate Elizabeth Sheppard on Monday that if that defense was open to the defendants, the trial would take two months to run.
“We would have to go back a decade to show a particular pattern of behavior,” he said.
But he said any trial would run much more efficiently if that defense was not open to the men.
He said Parliament was set to resume in September so he would have a better idea of how the Bill would progress.
Defense lawyers did not oppose the application.
In 2015, Parliament declared a wide range of motorcycle clubs to be criminal organizations.
Under one section of the legislation, it is an offence for a member of a declared organization to be in a public place with two or more other participants in a criminal organization.
Mr. Rau said each time the “no criminal purpose” defense was raised, the prosecution was required to disprove it.
“This means that the prosecution is required to prove that the criminal organization had, at the relevant time, the purpose of engaging in or conspiring to engage in criminal activity,” he said.
“The prosecution should not have to prove the criminal purpose of an organization that has already been declared by the Parliament to be a criminal organization.”
Rau said he believed removal of the “no criminal purpose” defense would improve the workability of the legislation and ensure it remained a “useful tool … to combat serious and organized crime”.

THE BIKERNET BAD JOKE CHURCH LIBRARY– Bless me Father, for I have sinned. I have been with a loose girl.”
The priest asks, “Is that you, little Dominic Savino?”
“Yes, Father, it is.”
“And who was the girl you were with?”
“I can’t tell you, Father. I don’t want to ruin her reputation.”
“Well, Dominic, I’m sure to find out her name sooner or later so you may as well tell me now.
Was it Tina Minetti?”
“I cannot say.”
“Was it Teresa Mazzarelli?”
“I’ll never tell.”
“Was it Nina Capelli?”
“I’m sorry, but I cannot name her.”
“Was it Cathy Piriano?”
“My lips are sealed.”
“Was it Rosa DiAngelo, then?”
“Please, Father, I cannot tell you.”
The priest sighs in frustration. “You’re very tight lipped, and I admire that. But you’ve sinned and have to atone. You cannot be an altar boy now for 4 months. Now you go and behave yourself.”
Joey walks back to his pew, and his friend Franco slides over and whispers,
“What’d you get?”
“Four months vacation and five good leads.”

HOLIDAY BLUES— The summer is over and I’ve been working in the garage for months on my Grandson’s motorcycle. Where did the Summer go? Fuck.
I’m watching a program on mindfulness and meditation. The next time you get pissed off think about the feeling. Most feelings don’t last more than 90 seconds. Think about how you think about anything. Say the girl with the confederate flag bikini. You’ll think about her boobs, the politics, making love, where to find her, your wife or girlfriend and how she would react. Just that one shot will take you through a myriad of thoughts. So which is you?
The point is that we change constantly. You’ll travel through a myriad of wonderful thoughts then head to another topic. What’s it mean? You tell me.
I’m thinking about the holiday, next week, my list of projects, goals, struggles, success and Redheads. What the fuck should I do next?
