THE BRINK SUNDAY POST for September 11, 2016

Hey,
I feel like we’re on the brink of something very good at Bikernet.
This day represents some bad shit for our nation unless you reverse the thought process.

It’s a time to rethink our strategies and look for more positive outcomes. I believe Bikernet is on the brink of tremendous growth. And perhaps as a nation we will take a different direction regarding terrorism.

Don’t ask me what it is, but the last code didn’t work. Here at Bikernet, our code calls for keeping an open mind constantly and always on the search for a better path, while remaining true to our basic foundation. It’s the only way, goddammit.

Let’s hit the news. We got shit to do…

CANNONBALL 2016 COVERED–
Race of the Century

Stage 1

I doubt anyone got much sleep. They were up early, thoughtfully dressed in their
best 1st day attire and most were ready for the challenges the day might bring. The
first day of this historic adventure began in Atlantic City on the Boardwalk outside
of Harry’s Oyster Bar.

Motorized vehicles are not typically allowed on the carefully created and maintained wooden walkway that lines the Atlantic Ocean, but today the city made an exception.

I was the first to arrive at the location.

Vicki is our exclusive Bikernet Reporter on the Cannonball story. You’ll see reports daily on the Bikernet Blog. She is also the first medical responder on the cross country competition. She will follow daily and help wherever she can. Her efforts are sponsored by Bikernet and Hupy and Abraham.

EUROPE IS IN CHAOS–
Over the last year, German Chancellor Angela Merkel has allowed over one million Muslim migrants to come to Germany. Many of these refugees are young, uneducated males, with no skills, no understanding of German, and no plans on assimilating.

As terrorist attacks and sexual assaults by these Muslim newcomers become more common throughout Europe, many Germans are regretting inviting these people to their country.

Now there are multiple reports of German biker clubs roaming the streets of German cities, attacking Muslim immigrants. Two Pakistani men were recently hospitalized after getting attacked by a group of 20 German bikers.

The Cologne, Germany newspaper, Express, reports large groups of rocker and hooligan gangs are now organizing themselves via Facebook to meet in downtown Cologne and other German cities to start “manhunts” of foreigners.

This year there have been nearly one thousand criminal complaints from women in Germany about being sexually assaulted by Muslim asylum seekers. It is believed that the true number of attacks is much higher, as many women do not report the crimes.

The bikers say they are defending the honor of German women by “beating the living hell out of Muslim refugees.”

The growing crime rate caused by these asylum seekers has prompted a highly charged debate in Germany about Merkel’s open-door policy on refugees. Now, many of those “compassionate” liberal Europeans who welcomed these immigrants are desperately regretting their decision.

It was obvious to many Europeans that inviting over one million Muslim refugees with few skills and no understanding of the language was going to be a huge problem. But liberal Chancellor Merkel made the executive decision that her country should do the “compassionate” thing and welcome these people.

Now there is growing civil unrest and violence all over Europe.

Let’s hope our own government learns from Europe’s mistakes. Based on what we are hearing from President Obama and Hillary Clinton, there’s not much reason to be optimistic.

“The roads took me from coast to coast through high winds, forest fires, hail, tornados, and many thunderstorms. In the 17,000 miles I turned this past year; I literally wore holes through my riding gear. My worn out gear is unfashionable and unsafe which is exactly why I need a biker makeover, especially after the events on Lookout Mountain.” Leah wrote.

She goes on to tell of how she learned first hand the importance of proper riding gear and how imperative it is to keeping you not only on the road, but more importantly safe. Leah’s story can been seen on line at www.garage-girls.com

BIKERNET READER ABOUT THE CODE–
I being of an old school and born south of the Mason Dixon , we are labeled by society as a bunch of racists. I beg to differ. We fly Old Glory right with Old Dixie.

If we have to explain it to you all you won’t understand . Once an outlaw always an outlaw. Not my saying but some one else’s.

FROM AUSTRALIA–
Hydraulically Slam your Softail/

Victoria, Australia- Softails give their owners the best of both worlds…the look of a hard tail but the comfort and ride of a bike with suspension.

Most agree that a lowered “Slammed down” Softail looks best but is it worth sacrificing the ride quality? Well thanks to Ken Rutherford and his all-new Slamtail, Softail owners no longer have to choose between the look and function.

Designed to reuse the OEM spring and shock units and maintain the stock ride quality the Slamtail uses hydraulically powered rams to raise and lower the bikes rear suspension. A simple remote key fob moves the bike from the stock ride height to slammed down in a matter of seconds and actually standing by the bike and watching it go through the travel looks impressive to say the least.

The whole system is neatly packaged under the bike and is protected from the elements and road grim by a zinc plated powder coated steel plate.

Every part of this lowering kit is made from high quality aerospace spec steel and aluminum alloys. In addition the rear wheel and gas tank do not have to be removed for installation and it is virtually invisible when installed. The Slamtail will fit all Twin Cam Powered Softails.

In short the Slamtail has impressive packaging, quality, operation and ease of installation. What more do you want from a system that makes your Softail look better and still ride like a stock bike.

Features Include:

*High quality
*Unique design
*Hydraulic operation
*Easy to fit, can be removed and re-installed on another bike, revert to original.
*Uses the OEM spring and shock unit, better value
*Retains the OEM ride quality at any height.
*Never leaks, designed by former Formula 1 Design Engineer
*Remote control and backup on-board toggle switch
*Quiet linear operation, raising or lowering, stop the bike at ANY HEIGHT, and ride, or park.
*Virtually invisible from the outside, integrates with the Softail look!

REGARDING THE DAN KRUSE COLLECTION–
Just a note unless my comment at the end of todays article did not take. Let us hope that whom ever buys that lovely Panhead does not repaint her any time soon. I have a liking to that Dixie paint job on that old girl.

I did not think it appropriate for the guy or gal that bought the General Lee from the Dukes of Hazard to have it painted over . We have been programed by society to be a politically correct culture. We have it all wrong.

2017 BAGGER REVIEW FROM THE NOTORIOUS TRIKING VIKING—
The new 2017 Harley-Davidson touring line is definitely not just factory upgrades and bold new graphics; it’s a paradigm shift that will inspire your personal epic journey. First and foremost powering your new dream machine are the all-new 107 and 114 ci engines.

You’ve probably already heard the praise and accolades about what Harley formally calls the” Milwaukee Eight”. In moto-journo circles the slang term “Musclehead “has been bantered about, I like that.

O.C. Ad Agency Rides in Style to Support Men’s Health Awareness–

COSTA MESA, Calif. (Sept. 7, 2016) – Blue C, a Costa Mesa-based brand development and advertising agency, is reaching out to motorcycling men, not to discuss horsepower and chrome, but to talk about their health.

When hundreds of motorcyclists ride through Orange County during the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride on Sept. 25, 2016, Blue C will join as a local sponsor and event contributor. This international charity event raises awareness and funds for the Movember Foundation’s men’s health programs through the appeal of classic and vintage styled motorcycles at hundreds of rides in cities worldwide. More than just a sponsor of the Orange County ride, Blue C’s Co-Founder Eric Morley will join the event as a distinguished motorcyclist and advocate for men’s health.

“Men don’t go to the doctor; I’m guilty of it, too,” said Morley, father and business owner. “But we like classic motorcycles, true fine craftsmanship and dressing in style. We’re glad to have this opportunity to talk about the motorcycles we love and the good health we want to maintain.”

The Orange County ride is one of dozens of Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride events that will take place worldwide on Sept. 25 to increase awareness and raise funds for research of prostate cancer as well as suicide prevention.

Event organizers state that prostate cancer is the second most commonly diagnosed cancer in men (after skin cancer), and that suicide is the largest killer of men aged 20-39. In 2015, more than 37,000 people participated in Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride events in 410 cities in 79 countries, and the events raised more than $2.3 million.
“I’ve always wanted to be a part of the Movember fundraising efforts; it falls right in line with our ongoing Blue C Cares community-support activities.

We look forward to an ongoing commitment with the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride.”
As an Orange County Ride sponsor, Blue C encourages motorcyclists in the area to register for the event, and to begin fundraising activities.

The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride is a niche charity event with gentlefolk riding their Cafe Racers, Bobbers, Classic Cruisers, Trackers, Scramblers, Old School Choppers, Modern Classics, Sidecars, Classic Scooters, Brat Style motorcycles, and others. Supporters who don’t ride motorcycles can donate to the organization as a whole or to any registered rider.

BIKERNET ENGLISH DEPARTMENT FANTASTIC WORD OF THE DAY–

Lucida: LOO-si-duh

noun
1.
Astronomy. the brightest star in a constellation.

Quotes

… if we pass across the Milky Way in the opposite direction, we arrive at Deneb, the lucida of Cygnus; and beyond the Swan, a little out of the Milky Way, is Vega, the bright star in the Lyre.
— George Frederick Chambers, A Handbook of Descriptive and Practical Astronomy, 1861

Origin of lucida

Lucida is from the full phrase in Latin stella lucida meaning “bright star.” Lucida can be traced to the Latin verb lucere meaning “to shine,” which itself comes from lux, a noun meaning “light.” Lucida entered English in the 1700s.

KAWASAKI TO START DEVELOPING MOTORCYCLES WITH AI TECHNOLOGIES–
Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. (KHI) is moving forward with plans to develop next-generation motorcycles that can grow along with the rider. The motorcycles will make use of ICT (Information and Communications Technology), including AI (Artificial Intelligence), to achieve this goal.

The motorcycles being developed will use the Emotion Generation Engine and Natural Language Dialogue System*1. The concept of this system would involve the rider being able to talk with the AI-controlled system. This communication between rider and motorcycle will open the door to a new world of unprecedented riding experiences.

Accessing Kawasaki’s bank of analytical chassis and performance data, the system will be able to offer the rider pertinent hints for enhanced riding enjoyment, or relay information as the situation dictates. Through advanced electronic management technology, having the system update machine settings based on the rider’s experience, skill and riding style will also be possible.

This conceptualized system intends to allow a relationship with the rider and motorcycle. The more the rider and motorcycle interact, the stronger the bond, and this communication will allow the motorcycle to develop a unique personality reflecting the individual idiosyncrasies of the rider. This system is intended to give the rider an all-new kind of enjoyment.

Kawasaki motorcycles are products of RIDEOLOGY*2, its original rider-centric development philosophy.

Kawasaki believes that motorcycles are more than simple tools for getting from one place to another; they should be fun and rewarding for the rider. To take this idea to the next level, Kawasaki has begun working on the new motorcycles that, through the use of AI, will possess new capabilities.

In order to deliver exciting motorcycles that are fun and rewarding to ride, Kawasaki will continue to take full advantage of the vast experience and combined technological resources of the KHI Group as it explores novel approaches in the development of new products and technologies.

*1 A form of artificial intelligence that enables man and machine to communicate with technology capable of recognising emotion by the sound of the speaker’s voice. Platform currently being developed by cocoro SB Corp., a member of the SoftBank Group.

*2 Kawasaki’s rider-centric development philosophy, RIDEOLOGY, is a commitment to pursue all possibilities to ensure that its products are fun and rewarding to ride.

KMC and its affiliates employ nearly 3,100 people in the United States, with approximately 260 of them located at KMC’s Foothill Ranch, California headquarters.

Kawasaki affiliates can be found on the Internet at www.kawasaki.com.

BIKERNET BAD JOKE LIBRARY IS OPEN ALL THE FUCKING TIME–
A newlywed couple had only been married for two weeks. The husband, although very much in love, couldn’t wait to go out on the town and party with his old buddies

So, he said to his new wife, ‘Honey, I’ll be right back.’

‘Where are you going, coochy cooh?’ asked the wife.

‘I’m going to the bar, pretty face. I’ m going to have a beer.’

The wife said, ‘You want a beer, my love?’

She opened the door to the refrigerator and showed him 25 different kinds ofbeer brands from 12 different countries: Germany , Holland

The husband didn’t know what to do, and the only thing that he could think of saying was, ‘Yes, lolly pop…but at the bar…you know…they have frozen glasses…’

He didn’t get to finish the sentence, because the wife interrupted him by saying,

‘You want a frozen glass, puppy face?’

She took a huge beer mug out of the freezer, so frozen that she was getting chills just holding it.

The husband, looking a bit pale, said, ‘Yes, tootsie roll, but at the Bar they have those hors d’oeuvres that are really delicious… I won’t be long, I’ll be right back. I promise. OK?’

You want hors d’oeuvres, poochi pooh?’ She opened the oven and took out 5 dishes of different hors d’oeuvres: chicken wings, pigs in blankets, mushroomcaps, pork strips, etc.

‘But my sweet honey… At the bar… You know…there’s swearing, dirty words and all that…’

‘You want dirty words, Dickhead? Drink your f***ing beer in your goddamn frozen mug and eat your motherf***ing snacks, because you are MARRIED now, and you aren’t f***ing going anywhere! Got it, Asshole?’

………and, they lived happily ever after.

WEEKEND GUN NUT REPORT–
Chicago Officials (Finally) Recognize Criminals Cause Crime.

After more than five years in office, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel is finally looking beyond his city’s gun control laws to stop the out-of-control violence in the Windy City. After promising in 2011 to hire a thousand new police when he first ran for office, Mayor Emanuel has announced plans to recruit hundreds of new officers to address the city’s dire personnel shortage.

Chicago officials have also begun to admit that the recent spike in homicides is a crime problem – not a gun problem. Just this week, Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson acknowledged that “as long as we fail to hold violent repeat offenders responsible for their actions, we’re going to hear the same stories of murders and shootings in certain parts of our city.”

Johnson blamed Chicago’s broken justice system. “It’s frustrating for [Chicago police] to arrest a guy on Friday for an illegal gun and then the next Thursday they see him right back out on the street with another illegal gun.” A police spokesman echoed Johnson’s frustration: “with nearly half of those we arrest for murder being repeated gun offenders, we need help to ensure these individuals stay off our streets after repeated arrests for guns.”

Cook County State’s Attorney Anita Alvarez made a similar acknowledgment last week: “Criminals know and understand our system” and “tell prosecutors that Illinois gun laws are ‘a joke.’” She noted that the worst offenders “are spending fewer and fewer days behind bars for their violent and repeat felony gun offenses,” and that “an unexplained revolving door” is “spitting these convicted criminals out of prison after they have served only a fraction of their court-imposed sentences for violent gun offenses.”

The problem is exacerbated by a new policy the Chicago Police implemented through an agreement with the American Civil Liberties Union of Illinois. The policy, which took effect on January 1st, requires officers to write a detailed report every time they stop a suspect for a brief investigation. This not only requires time-intensive paperwork, but suspects must also get a receipt indicating the officer’s name, and the time, place, and reason for the stop.

Under the new policy, street stops by Chicago police officers have dropped significantly. Less enforcement combined with weak punishment for violent offenders are driving Chicago’s surging murder rate. Perhaps the seriousness of Chicago’s soaring violent crime problem will cause the city’s leaders to abandon their pursuit of ineffective gun-control measures and instead focus on the actual cause of crime: criminals.

AMD World Championship–
Over 80 bikes entered in AMD World Championship

Custom builder community and wider industry reaction to the opportunities provided for doing business at this year’s AMD World Championship, the flagship feature at INTERMOT Customized in Hall 10 in October, continues to be overwhelmingly positive.

Indeed, with the number of booths now being taken by aftermarket vendors (and additional custom program booths by OE manufacturers, including Harley-Davidson), overall reaction to the concept that organizers Koelnmesse are successfully developing has been excellent.

There are 62 builders confirmed for the AMD World Championship, coming to Cologne, Germany, from 27 different countries (including as far afield as the USA, Japan, South Korea, Israel, Russia and Ukraine); in total some 81 bikes are entered into the five classes.

Set-up day for the event is Monday October 3rd, with Tuesday 4th as Press Day, Wednesday 5th as International Trade Visitor and VIP Visitor Preview Day, with public admittance from Thursday 6th through to Sunday 9th. The awards ceremony will be held at 4:00pm on Sunday 9th.

Hall 10 at INTERMOT is one of the best attended halls, being right alongside the two primary visitor entrances – in 2014 over 200,000 people visited INTERMOT in total, with the 11th AMD World Championship being won by Belgian Fred “Krugger” Bertrand’s “Nurb’s” – a futuristic 1650cc BMW.

NEW OPTIONS FROM Belt Drives Ltd– Anaheim, California based manufacturer Belt Drives Ltd. (BDL) continues to add new product designs and applications at an impressive rate.

These new, black 2-inch open drives are specifically designed for owners of 1970 to 1978 Shovelheads. They are complete packages, and in addition to their popular 2-ingh belt and new guard, each kit includes BDL’s ball bearing lock-up pressure plate and proprietary Kevlar clutch.

The Shovelhead kit features BDL’s unique side guard, rear clutch cover and mini-starter housing, clutch assembly, application-specific belt and drive components.

The new pressure plates seen here are said to “noticeably improve positive feel at the lever. The redesigned plates ensure a flawless release onto the clutch pack and enhanced lock-up.” They are available as upgrades for 1990-up open belt drive kits using the standard cable system and 2014-up drives with the stock hydraulic clutch.

Both of these are adaptable to BDL’s 1990–up belt drive kits that use the standard pressure plates. Upgraded plates require the use of a new diaphragm spring and two additional shoulder bolts; the plates, spring and collar are available individually.

The new 2-inch wide open belt drive system kits also seen here (for Touring and Softail models from 2007-up) feature a unique 2-piece motor plate design and come with a 52-69 pulley combination for a primary drive ratio of 1.326:1.

The primary belt profiles and assemblies are unique to each model.
The front pulley face and new larger spring collar have matching patterns, and the front pulley is angle-cut and counter-bored for a super clean open look. The 6-bolt diaphragm clutch configuration is new and provides a more positive feel, while improving the overall appearance. The kits come with a custom side and top guard along with a new aggressive open dome.

Additionally, the spring and collar have been enhanced in order to provide more positive lock-up for those big inch, high-horsepower, high-torque engines. All kits have BDL’s patented “BPP” ball bearing pressure plate. Touring models come with 2 different length screw-in shift shaft cones, one for heel and toe shifters and the other for toe shift machines. There’s also a new custom center clutch pushrod. Available in black, chrome, polished and wrinkle black finishes.

Hillary’s Email Scandal Takes Down the FBI–
For months Americans wondered whether the FBI, led by Director James Comey, would take down the most corrupt woman in the history of American politics, Hillary Clinton.

As it turns out, Hillary Clinton took down the FBI.

According to new documents from the FBI’s investigation of Clinton, the agency was fully aware that Clinton lied when she said she set up a private server in order to utilize one Blackberry device — she used 13 mobile devices and two phone numbers.

The FBI knew that Clinton’s aides destroyed old Blackberrys by cracking them in half or hitting them with a hammer. The FBI knew full well that Clinton had passed classified information over her private server — she admitted that she didn’t even know how classified information worked, instead stating that she thought the “C” appearing at the top of documents probably had something to do with alphabetizing files.

The FBI recognized that Clinton wiped her server after a New York Times article revealed her private sever and email use; that she brought her Blackberry into a secure State Department area; that she never turned over nearly 18,000 work-related emails; that she discussed an undercover asset on the server and put his family in danger; and that she refused to take Blackberrys from the State Department out of fear they could be discoverable under Freedom of Information Act requests.

That’s not all.

The FBI also allowed Clinton aide Cheryl Mills to act as Clinton’s lawyer during her FBI hearing, even though Mills was a material witness. In doing so, the agency granted Mills legal privilege where none existed. And the FBI didn’t bother asking Clinton whether she intended to hide information. Officials gave her the benefit of the doubt every single step of the way.

And then the FBI recommended to the Department of Justice that she not be indicted.

The fix was in.

The press seems sanguine about the possibility of Clinton in the White House. That’s bizarre given her corruption. It’s even more bizarre when you consider that she has now undermined Americans’ trust in the chief domestic intelligence agency in the country, making it a laughingstock and a political Hackey Sack. Director Comey entered this investigation well-liked and well-respected across the political aisle. He will exit having destroyed his reputation for honesty on the shoals of Clinton’s lies.

There is no excuse for Clinton escaping charges. Not one. The FBI’s own documents prove that she took action that you would only take if you were attempting to obstruct justice, destroy evidence and lie to law enforcement. And yet the FBI, as a wing of the Obama White House, went out of its way to ensure that the Democratic presidential candidate would evade prosecution. That means it lacks basic legitimacy.

It’s not the only agency the Obama administration has exposed as a political hammer. It has corrupted the Internal Revenue Service, the Department of Justice, the Environmental Protection Agency, the State Department and the Department of Health and Human Services. The list is nearly endless.

No wonder so many Americans seem willing to turn to a man who promises to burn the entire structure down, Donald Trump. There’s little worth saving here, unless you’re a Democrat hoping to uphold the integrity of institutions dedicated to preserving scandal-ridden Democrats.

INCREDIBLE, LIFE IS NUTS—But we still have motorcycles (if we fight for them) and guns (if we continue to fight for them). I’ve read a couple of blips about democracies and how they decline.

We can see the games and how they are played everyday. We can see where Democrats and Republicans no longer do a job for the public. They work only for the expansion of the party. We need to get back to the basics somehow. Anything is possible?

Watch for new changes to Bikernet, new Trike content and more. It’s all happening this week at the ghetto Bikernet Ivory Tower. Hang On!
