Hey,
I could have attended the last Love Ride yesterday. We received a highly secret inside report. Ever since the economy crashed in 2008 the Love Ride has struggled. We discussed the success of the Love Ride and making it better with several longtime attendees, while sitting under the shade of a magnificent pine tree while the crystal clear sun reflected off Lake Castaic, while Buck Cherry and then Charlie Brechtal shouted from the stage.
From our interviews some folks felt the attendance was half what it was last year. We bitched about the number of events rocking the LA region every weekend. Perhaps folks have too many options. Then there’s the growing congestion on LA Freeways. I don’t blame anyone for staying home.
One brother made a celebrity comment. “The Love Ride still has serious celebrity connections with Jay Leno, Peter Fonda, and others,” he said, “But they came out and cruised the event before the crowds arrived, then disappeared.”
We then interviewed PJ, a veteran journalist for Thunder Press who said after admitting to not riding this year, his first time ever. “This is the Love Ride,” PJ said. “There is no event like this on the planet and it’s the original.” I met a couple of riders from Switzerland who produce the Love Ride Switzerland. “It rocks!”
So, what’s killing the Love Ride? Fascinating times, tough economic conditions, too many cops? Some of my riding partners didn’t attend the Love Ride, but went to see the Chopper Dave Benefit in Long Beach. It was well attended. Let’s hit the news, while we study the does and don’ts of the event production biz.
BIKERNET STAFFER CAN HELP YOU SHIP BIKES OVERSEAS—PHILADELPHIA, PA: U.S. Customs Broker / Foreign Freight Forwarder discovers a Motorcycle Industry need for shipping education.
Jack McIntyre, Motorcycle Industry Photographer for Bikernet.com has been a U.S. Customs Broker since 1983. During this time he has worked with industries of all types importing and exporting freight worldwide using strategically trusted agents to insure smooth transactions with foreign Governments. Recently he was contacted by Elisa Seeger, owner at Indian Larry Motorcycles in Brooklyn to move 4 of their classic motorcycles from NY to the EICMA Show in Milan Italy. The transaction went great, Jack stated, the quotes were provided for door to door service including a CARNET (which allows the items to move between countries for exhibition free of any duties).
Once the vessel docks in Milan, Jack’s agents will step in to ensure a timely Customs clearance and delivery to the show. When the show is complete, the motorcycles will be re-created and be shipped back to Brooklyn. The point of this is that the shipper (Indian Larry Motorcycles) only has to make a phone call to initiate this process, and not worry about the shipment after that point.
At this very moment Jack’s company is performing almost the same transaction for Artist David Uhl, UHL STUDIOS out of Colorado. They have been asked to attend the same show in Milan, so Jack has arranged the pickup of their crate containing artwork for the show, the export airfreight, Carnet, and delivery to Milan Harley-Davidson which will then deliver the paintings to the show with time to spare. Again, once the details are worked out, the client can simply meet their freight at the next location worry free.
At the 2014 Las Vegas Bikefest Jack spoke to many of the motorcycles builders regarding shipping internationally. The common comment was, “We are constantly invited to shows in the EU and Asia, all expenses paid, but we are told to arrange our own shipping”. End of story. At that point, every builder stated that they simply gave up. A few mentioned that they had talked to a freight forwarder, but was only given the services of step 1 of the process with no services beyond that. How would you like to ship your goods to Germany and then have to deal with their Customs branch on your own… its a nightmare unless you have the right contacts.
Jack works for 721 Logistics in the Philadelphia area. From that location, he can arrange the movement of freight from anywhere to anywhere with all bases covered, all Government agencies, and so on. Jack stated that if you know how to handle these types of moves and have the right team behind you, a trusted team, there is no reason for the shipper to have concerns. Jack asked Elisa Seeger for her opinion as to why she choose 721 Logistics over the forwarders that the show recommended, and the two points that were presented were, the price was was better than the show could offer, and the level of trust she has for Jack as a person. Jack has been one of their photographers for many years but you learn a lot about people concerning how they act and complete tasks, and 721 Logistics has proven to go above and beyond the norm.

Biggs McDonald, NHL Hall of Fame broadcaster speaking in Ontario, says, “I am truly perplexed that so many of my friends are against another mosque being built in Toronto. I think it should be the goal of every Canadian to be tolerant regardless of their religious beliefs. Thus the mosque should be allowed, in an effort to promote tolerance.”
“That is why I also propose that two nightclubs be opened next door to the mosque; thereby promoting tolerance from within the mosque. We could call one of the clubs, which would be gay, “The Turban Cowboy,” and the other, a topless bar, would be called
“You Mecca Me Hot.”
“Next door should be a butcher shop that specializes in pork, and adjacent to that an
open-pit barbecue pork restaurant, called “Iraq of Ribs.”
“Across the street there could be a lingerie store called “Victoria Keeps Nothing Secret,”
with sexy mannequins in the window modeling the goods.”
“Next door to the lingerie shop there would be room for an adult sex toy shop, “Koranal
Knowledge,” its name in flashing neon lights, and on the other side a liquor store called
“Morehammered”.
“All of this would encourage Muslims to demonstrate the tolerance they demand of
us.”
Yes we should promote tolerance, and you can do your part by passing this on. And if you are not laughing or smiling at this point . . . it is either past your bedtime, or it’s midnight at the oasis and time to put your camel to bed!

WEEKEND GUN NUT REPORT–How Gun-Control Legislation Is Affecting This Election.
Many sheriffs in states that recently passed gun-control laws have signed letters saying they are opposed to the laws, saying the gun bans won’t make America safer. Some even say they won’t enforce these new laws. This has gotten some press.
What hasn’t been reported is the very governors in New York, Connecticut, and Maryland who signed those gun and magazine bans are also reluctant to enforce these laws. It seems they don’t want a political backlash.
They don’t want journalists making martyrs out of otherwise law-abiding citizens who might be charged with felonies for doing what they’ve done all their lives. This is where politics runs into reality. It’s a collision voters need to hear more about.

THE 9-11 TRIBUTE TO FREEDOM NEWS FOR 9-11-14

Reading Jim Kulzer article about a spell caster namely Odumodu was the best that ever happen to me this year. I had a lot problems I was trying to overcome. I had problems at home which affected my work greatly. I was always in a crossfire with my boss.
I really don’t want to tell story here. My wife wanted out of our marriage for no just reason. We were married for four year, and I think we were happy though we had no kids. It was her idea not to have any ‘cause she wasn’t ready to be a mom yet, and I was okay with it.
All I wanted was to see her happy, but I was having a tough time. I gave in too much. I mean that was the reason she gave during our therapy session. She wanted out of the marriage ‘cause I was to nice.
From what she said, I was the kind of man ever woman will die for, but she wanted a real man to enforce his will on her. She said we were wasting our life together and no amount of therapy was going to get us back together. I was a total mess, thinking how I was being dumped based on how much I loved my wife.
I was still in love with her, she was the love of my life, and I still wanted her to come back when I saw Eva-Yolanda article on Odumodu. He let me know I would have to go through all the spell-casting process. He said most people are too scared. He was 100% truthful and honest with his customers.
I was asked to get some material to prepare the spell. He sent me a package containing the spell and the rest just happened. I got my wife back and she was my wife again. Finally she was not the woman who wanted a hard man. She was the woman I fell in love with, who loved me for me.
If you want help or fell he can help contact him with his email address drodumoduspellcaster@gmail.com…..

They have concluded that lane splitting is safe when conducted at a reasonable speed.

Aussie MC speaks out over town ban-–
Media and police are speculating whether the Rebels motorcycle club was still heading to Coffs Coast this weekend on its national run, after police and local accommodation providers cancelled almost 500 bookings for rooms.
Angered by the actions of NSW Police in trying to stop them staging their national run, the Rebels say they have been turned away by resorts, hotels, motels and holiday units.
There is speculation they may head to Canberra instead.
United Motorcycle Council spokesman Mick Kosenko, a 33-year Rebels member from Brisbane, said he couldn’t believe the police resistance to the motorcycle club in Coffs Harbour.
“This is ridiculous, we can’t get anywhere to stay in Coffs Harbour because the police told the accommodation providers we couldn’t book in our names,” Mr Kosenko said.
“For a lot of us this is our yearly holiday, every one of us would have spent around $1,000 so Coffs Harbour is the big loser in all this.
“A lot of our members work in the mines in northern parts of Queensland so getting time off was an issue and now their holidays are cancelled.
“It would have been good for the town.
He said the blacklisting of motorcycle club members in Coffs Harbour was unfair.
“The hotels have also been told by police not to let us in and we are all trying to get refunds on the accommodation bookings we made months ago – a lot of us are owed our deposits and we are waiting for refunds,” Mr Kosenko said.
“It’s a massive overreaction by police, but I’d say it’s come from the top. It has cost Coffs Harbour a lot of money and police would have spent heaps on cancelling our bookings.
“We are always travelling through Coffs, it was chosen for the national run because it was central and we have never been in trouble in the town.
The Rebels said around 1,500 members would have attended the national run.
“Well yeah the run is all but cancelled, I can only speak for myself and I’m not coming now… it has left a sour taste in the mouth … we will take the run to places that welcome us into town next time.
“Hotel owners are said to be up in arms about this, we have never had one good riddance in Coffs Harbour,
Asked if the Rebels were deterred from riding in New South Wales due to the State Government’s consorting laws, Mr Kosenko said it wasn’t an issue.
“We haven’t got a lot of people with criminal records in our club in Queensland,” he said.
“We’re told about 20% of our members have a record, so those laws don’t apply to us”.
The Rebels rode to Perth last year for the club’s national run.
Meanwhile an estimated group 70 Rebels members, closely monitored by police, arrived and departed Mildura heading east without a hitch, a police inspector said.
The Western Australian chapter along with South Australian members arrived at Mildura about 4pm Tuesday from Adelaide, and left at 10am Wednesday, travelling towards Swan Hill and Echuca.
Mildura Police Service Area Acting Inspector Rebecca Olsen said Mildura police were assisted by Victoria Police ECHO and NSW Police Force RAPTER Taskforces, and SA Police, to monitor the Rebels convoy from Adelaide.
Insp Olsen said the group departed peacefully in the morning, and praised riders’ behaviour.
She said during the ride from the SA border to Victoria, a male driver in a support vehicle was detected travelling at 182km/h on the Sturt Highway, which is marked at 110km/h.
He was intercepted and charged by police.

Quotes
That’s when I began to cloister myself, when I saw her strength, her determination to pull me out of my brooding.

Origin
Cloister comes from an Anglo-French blend of cloison, meaning “partition,” and clostre, from the Late Latin word meaning “enclosed place.”

RELAX—I’m going to take a break this afternoon. We kicked around the Love Ride most of the afternoon. It was still entertaining as always, the the McLaughin group, those Unlimited guys who can do wheelstands all day, a new bike show produced by Bob Kay and Jeff Najar, the men behind the J&P Ultimate Builder shows all over the country, plus all the rock stars kept the area jumping.
We tried to pick it apart, but there was nothing to pick. It was a beautiful place, on a fantastic day, on the edge of a lake with constant entertainment, supported by multiple dealerships, and plenty of good looking girls. Somebody tried to label it an ol’ folks event, but it isn’t. The age group is all over the place. Another brother said, “The Barnum’s and Bailey Circus rolls throughout the country every year. The average number of times folks attend a circus in a lifetime is three.”
Here is one of the items we discussed about Bike Shows in general. What makes you go to a bike show? Is it celebrities, entertainment, the level of custom motorcycles? What makes you put that event on your calendar, or what doesn’t?
And if you are a custom builder, what draws you to enter your bike? Is it the prize money, the trophies, the judging system, the number of folks who might attend, your bros who might be there, or the competition. What drives you to step up, detail your bikes, pay to enter, load your trailer and head to this show? Let us know your thoughts.
Regarding the above questions, how much does the cool factor play in your decision. I see a lot of cool motivated shit recently. I always thought anti-cool was one of the reasons I became a biker. I thought cool was bullshit and if anything bikers were anti-cool. We just did our own thing and fuck anyone who didn’t like it.
