Hey,
I put my Mudflap Girl FXR back together with the new Hi-4 single-fire ignition, and coil from Crane, with Nology spark plug wires. The bike lean snaps like crazy at the low end. I rode it to Bennett’s and we messed with the timing and fuel mixture, but nothing made a difference—frustrating. Is there any reason the bike should run leaner with the Hi-4 ignition or Nology wires? I’m going to change out the plug wires today and see how it runs.
Before I tore is down for paint, it ran like a champ, and the mpg was terrific, like 49 mpg. A buddy told me that the Nology wires made his bike run leaner. Maybe I was on the edge. So, do I want to richen it and lose gas mileage, or change the plug wires?
Damn, I just wanna ride, but the bike is riding as smooth as glass with the new Centramatic wheel balancers. For a chopper, it handles damn well. Let’s hit the news then I will touch on the non-stop content heading for the pages of Bikernet, and jam back into the shop.

2006? That’s longtimes? I’ve got crud on my bike older than that.
What a moron, I wonder how stupid he feels after reading your response. Couldn’t even come up with an original logo, let alone a decent club name. Asphalt Boys… give me a break.

Here’s what our attorney wrote:
Mr. Tazelaar:
I represent K. Randall Ball and 5 Ball, Inc. in the United States. I am in receipt of your email (attached to this response) regarding the use of our logo by your organization (which they claim to have copyrighted in 2006). We had no idea this logo was being used by your client or organization, but thank you for bringing it to our attention. The logo you refer to has been copyrighted here at least ten years prior to your claimed copyright, and has been in constant use in our publications to date. I have attached three images showing this logo in a book entitled, “Outlaw Justice” by K. Randall Ball, published in 1997 which has been available for purchase worldwide since publication, and is widely read by motorcycle enthusiasts around the world.
I’m sure you can see the resemblance, as the artist based this logo on the actual appearance of my client, whose likeness also appears on the cover of the book. My client was also editor of “Easyriders” magazine, and is extremely well known in the motorcycle world through his publishing history with books, magazines, television, and his current online magazine, “Bikernet.com”. The artist that originally designed this logo is our resident artist, John Towle, and he holds the original copyright on this and many other widely distributed motorcycle images published by my client and others.
Again, thank you for bringing to my attention your illegal use of this copyright protected logo by your group in the Netherlands.
I must now insist you change your logo, and cease and desist any further use or publication of our logo, as it infringes on our protected intellectual property rights. We will aggressively pursue all legal remedies should you continue to utilize our property. I suspect that your member, Duc, has seen our logo in many publications and decided to appropriate it for unauthorized use without revealing the true source.
It is clearly a copy of the logo we have owned for many years longer than you claim to have used it. I would suggest this communication be forwarded to your legal representative to advise you of the potential consequences for your unlawful use of our protected logo. I will allow 30 days for a response prior to initiating any legal action on behalf of my clients to recover damages.

THE BOSS OF THE MRF GRABBED A QUOTE FROM BIKERNET–
I HAVE A BITCH—I say we tell all of our representatives to create an immediate moratorium on new legislation. No new bills for a year! So for an entire year they review and analyze existing laws, and balance their budgets. Let’s call it the year of Freedom and financial responsibility.
I would bet that by the end of the year, we would save a ton of dough, have a government running on the right track financially, remove and repair thousands of bad laws, and foster a new respect for Freedom and its benefits.
What do you think? It’s tough to keep smiling when they are coming after us with new agencies daily. Good God. They just don’t get it, but we do.
Let’s have some fun this weekend.

THE BRITISH HISTORY OF HELMET LAWS AND NOW ABS LAWS–
Forty years ago, the “Motor Cycles (Wearing of Helmets) Regulations 1973 (S.I., 1973, No. 180), dated 7th February 1973”, was enacted – the statutory instrument came into operation on 1st June of the same year.
On April 5th 1973, the order for this regulation was debated in the House of Commons, with members from either side taking opposite views. Many considered this as a gross infringement of personal liberty.
However, during World War II, Dr Hugh Cairns, a consulting neurosurgeon to the British Army, recommended mandatory helmet use for British Service dispatch riders, who carried instructions and battle reports between commanders and the front lines via motorcycles.
This recommendation was accepted the British Army and crash helmets became compulsory for all army motorcyclists on duty from November 1941.
Cairns first became concerned about helmet use after treating the war hero T. E. Lawrence—otherwise known as Lawrence of Arabia—for a fatal head injury suffered during a 1935 motorcycle accident.
On 31st May 1956, a motion was introduced into the House of Commons “(Helmets to be worn by Drivers and Riders of Motorcycles). After a lengthy debate, this motion was withdrawn.
However, eleven years later in 1962, in the Road Traffic Bill of that year, there was proposed (on Report) a new clause to give the Minister power to make an order such as the one (wearing of helmets), that had been made and was before the House.
In the gallery at the House of Commons on that evening in April 1973, were motorcyclists listening carefully to the debate.
Enoch Powell was noted for his oratorical skills, and for being a maverick. He was a champion of this cause, his powerful intervention in the House of Commons in relation to his opposition to the compulsory wearing of helmets by motorcyclists argued in favour of individual freedom. Although he was not the only MP to oppose this regulation, he was certainly the most eloquent.
Moving onto the Religious Exemption of Sikhs to wear motorcycle helmets, during the debate in the House of Commons in January 1975, the MP responsible for this bill was Sydney Bidwell MP for Ealing-Southall…………………….
The consequence of this exemption was that one man, Fred Hill was to provide impetus to the recently formed Motorcycle Action Group (MAG UK) to call for the helmet law to be rescinded.
Fred Hill was born in Yorkshire and spent the war as a dispatch rider before becoming a Mathematics teacher after the war.
Ian Mutch now President for life of MAG UK wrote about Fred Hill and explained his reasons for refusing to wear a helmet and the price this “freedom fighter” paid.
Forty Years On
Forty years on, all riders (except Sikhs) are required to wear a helmet while riding a motorcycle in the UK and in fact in most countries throughout the world. Generally it is accepted that in a crash scenario helmets help to prevent injuries.
Few people of principle remain from those days in 1973 when the imposition of mandatory helmet use was felt to be unnecessary because the vast majority (88%) of motorcyclists wore helmets anyway and it was felt that this was an abuse of legislative power and removed the freedom of liberties.
The introduction of the helmet law in the UK was a defining moment for motorcycling because it established precedence for “safety” legislation for this form of transport. The latest of which has recently (2012) been enacted into law via the European parliament through the requirement for ABS brakes and mandatory headlights for these vehicles.
Trevor Baird was the General Secretary of MAG UK. He resigned in 2008 and in his farewell speech to the Annual General Conference that year, said………………….

TECH DEPARTMENT, New Bikernet Reader Comment!–ZIPPER’S RED SHIFT 525 CAM INSTALL
http://www.bikernet.com/pages/story_detail.aspx?id=10911
Cool article and excellent detail. I just wonder why Rogue did not go with gear-drive set of cams as they are more efficient and no chains or chain tensioner to worry about.
Thanks, you have great products.
–Hugh Snyder
hueysnyder@yahoo.com
Phoenix, AZ
The main reason for not using gear driven cams is the noise. The noise is produced by the meshing of the cam drive gears and the pinion shaft run out on stock Harley’s.
It is important that the gears mesh evenly and that all of them are straight. With the pinion shaft having run out it does not allow this to happen and you get tight and loose mesh of the gears producing the noise.
Run out of the pinion shaft is checked by putting a dial indicator on the shaft and rotating the engine by hand – usually by lifting the rear wheel
off the ground, putting motorcycle in gear and turning the wheel. This will show you the shaft is not straight. The more run out it has the more noise it produces.
Over the years Harley has allowed more run out in their pinion shafts and thus the need for the chains. The chains are more forgiving and do not
produce noise. The issue of chain tensioners has been addressed by changing from the earlier spring loaded tensioner to the new hydraulic ones and using a dual piston tensioner from Zippers Performance makes it even better.
If you refer to my recent article you will see the wear of the pad with just less than 50,000 miles compared to the earlier spring loaded ones which wore out really quick.
I should note that I do have gear driven cams in my 2004 FLHT and that was done to get rid of the earlier spring loaded tensioner. The pinion shaft had very little run out, so it worked and produced very little noise. At 80,000 miles plus I freshened up the engine and used S&S Flywheels and now there is no run out and no cam noise.
So now most people installing cams will suggest using the cam driven ones especially if the motorcycle is used for street use and use a good hydraulic tensioner. Of course gear driven cams are still used in race bikes BUT work is also done to make sure the pinion runs straight. Money is a factor in making that happen.
I hope this answers your question.

THIS JUST IN–NMA E-Newsletter #221: Administrative Hearings Deny Motorists Due Process
Photo ticket profiteers will stop at nothing to discourage motorists from fighting and beating unfair camera tickets. Their latest ploy comes in the form of California Assembly Bill 666, which would require ticket camera cases to be heard in administrative hearings, not in real courts of law.?
?This change would effectively deny motorists key due process rights (such as the right to discovery and to confront witnesses) and further stack the deck in favor of those who benefit from camera revenue.
For more information on the insidious nature of administrative hearings, check out E-newsletter #219: Resistance is not Futile.? ?
To illustrate the true impact of a bill like AB 666, let’s look at what can happen when a camera-ticket recipient exercises his due process rights in a court of law.? ?Gant Bloom received a red-light camera ticket in St. Louis and decided to defend himself in court. He did not deny that the image of his car had been captured by the ticket camera, but because he did not receive the ticket until several weeks later, he could not honestly determine whether he or his girlfriend was driving the car at the time.? ?
Bloom’s opening statement included a summary of his strategy: “I decided it just wasn’t fair for me to admit guilt to something I didn’t even know if I did or not. The only physical evidence that the prosecution is going to show you is that it was my car running through a red light. That I don’t deny. I don’t believe the City can satisfy this court that it was me who committed that crime. And furthermore, I intend to demonstrate reasonable doubt that it was me driving that day.”? ?
Bloom’s girlfriend testified that the two of them had conferred and could not determine who was driving at the time of the alleged violation. The prosecuting attorney spent several minutes questioning a representative of American Traffic Solutions (ATS) and the local police officer who reviewed the citation to establish a foundation for what the photo evidence proved, in addition to how that evidence was collected, reviewed, and ultimately resulted in a ticket.
In contrast, Bloom, who isn’t an attorney, asked only one question of the ATS employee and three questions of the officer. His logic was elegant and simple, and points out the fallacy of red-light cameras as a fair means of enforcing intersection traffic regulations. Bloom asked the ATS employee, “Sir, is there any way (for the cameras) to tell who was driving the car at the time of the violation?”
The answer was, “No, there isn’t.”
?Bloom then asked the police officer if he would attempt to identify the driver during an in-person traffic stop for running a red light. The answer was affirmative. Next Bloom asked if the officer would issue a ticket if he wasn’t able to identify the driver.
The officer responded, “No, if I couldn’t identify the driver, I wouldn’t issue a ticket.”
Blooms’ final question for the officer: “If you pulled a car over and found out it was a different driver than who was the registered owner of the car, would you issue a citation to the car, to the registered owner who is not driving, or would you issue the citation to whoever was driving the car?”
The answer, of course, from the officer was that he would ticket the driver.
The judge found in favor of Bloom and charged court costs to the City of St. Louis. For an entertaining read, you can find the full courtroom transcript at www.tinyurl.com/camtranscript.
Bloom’s defense and the judge’s decision drew the critical distinction between a presumption of innocence and a presumption of guilt. Bloom prevailed in a court of justice, something that would not have been possible in an administrative hearing where those pesky due process rights are routinely quashed. In California alone there are thousands of motorists charged with unfair traffic violations who, for now, have the opportunity to defend themselves. Curtailing their due process rights through administrative hearings would make it nearly impossible for them to do so. Here’s why:
1. Even if the vehicle owner wasn’t driving and doesn’t know who was, he is still responsible for paying the fine.
2. No additional evidence beyond the ticket itself is needed for a conviction.
3. The defendant will not have the right to confront the witnesses against him.
4. The defendant will not have the right to request discovery in order build a defense.
AB 666 is just one example of the further assault on drivers’ rights. In New York City, administrative hearings are already the norm for traffic violations. If AB 666 is enacted, count on state lawmakers around the country, urged on by their camera company conspirators, to introduce similar bills in their own states.
BIKERNET UNIVERSITY ENGLISH DEPARTMENT WEEKEND VOCABULARY LESSON FOR SLEEZY WOMEN–demimonde DEM-ee-mond; Fr. duh-mee-MAWND, noun:
It had not always been that way; it had begun as something more like a network of friends, or the part of the underground that lived in the demimonde.
Although it had not been important upon her ascension to the apex of the demimonde, once there, impending poverty created a stench of failure.
Demimode comes to English from the French demi- + monde literally meaning “half world.” The phrase was coined and popularized by Alexander Dumas, fils.

Another week has blown by at a record pace. Here’s an older guy’s recent discovery: The older ya get the faster time flies by. So, enjoy precious family time, change your oil and filter often and enjoy today’s freedom. Be prepared to defend the constitution at all times.
Just 123 days until Tech inspection on the Bonneville salt flats. We’re on the rack at Colorado Custom knockin’ items off the to-do list. The air-lines for the street bars have been extended, we need to lengthen the wiring to the throttle side kill switch. For the salt flats or land speed racing we’ve installed a top-shelf Pingel Kill Switch/Air Shifter combo with air in the Tedder built R/T Performance frame.
The one-off frame holds 120-lbs of air to drive the hydraulic ram connected to the STD case/JIM’s Machine 6-speed transmission. Our top-shelf heavy duty primary cases are STD/Spyke.
Inside we installed a Fisher Vibration Damper, Tsubaki Primary Chain, Rivera-Primo Primary Chain early-style adjusting shoe, a Rivera-Primo Pro Clutch w/lock up unit to harness the Hyperformance/R&R Cycle 124-Inch Twin Cam Turbo Charged power.
Mr. McCahill at Spyke provided the badass starter, starter button, cables and charging system.
Spins over with ease, every time without using the compression releases. Our 124-inch engine runs 9.5 to 1 compression. We’ll start with our Variable Vane Aerocharger set on a soft 8 pounds of boost and work our way up to a maximum of 18 pounds, if needed.
This coming week we’ll complete the linkage and shifter set up, complete the street handle bar set up.
Stay tuned for the 5-Ball Racing Teams Turbo Charged adventure.
Thanks….With one helluva lot of help from my family and Industry friends….Thanks, Thanks, Thanks.
We’re on track for a stellar year on the street and on the Bonneville Salt Flats.

WEEKEND NRA GUN NUT REPORT–
Senate to Take Up Anti-Gun Legislation Soon!
The U.S. Senate has announced that anti-gun legislation will be heard on the floor next week. While that could change at any time, right now it means that your Second Amendment freedoms are on the chopping block, and you need to take immediate action to save them.
Senators are scheduled to vote on a so-called “universal background check” bill being pushed by lifelong anti-gun zealot, Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y). Schumer’s bill–S. 374, the “Fix Gun Checks Act of 2013”– would criminalize virtually all private firearm sales, even temporary transfers, making you a criminal if you simply transfer a firearm to an aunt, uncle, cousin or lifelong friend without the federal government’s approval. Even worse, President Barack Obama’s Justice Department says that Schumer’s bill will only be effective if it’s coupled with mandatory gun registration.
Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s (D-Calif.) gun and magazine ban legislation (S. 150) will not be a part of the Senate’s base gun control bill, but the Senate previously announced that Feinstein will be allowed to offer her legislation as an amendment.
Feinstein’s legislation, which proposes to ban nearly every semi-automatic shotgun and detachable-magazine semi-automatic rifle, several other categories of firearms, and any ammunition magazine holding 11 or more rounds, will not be included in the Senate’s gun control bill at the outset, out of concern that it would decrease the chance of Schumer’s legislation being approved.
Don’t be fooled. This legislation isn’t about making Americans safer; it’s about forwarding an anti-gun agenda that seeks to restrict firearm ownership in America–as much as they can, however they can, and as soon as they can.
Please act now! Call both of your U.S. Senators TODAY and tell them to vote “NO” on Schumer’s “universal background check” bill. To identify and contact your legislators in Washington, D.C., you can use the “Write Your Reps” feature at www.NRAILA.org, or you can reach your member of Congress by phone at 202-224-3121.
DREW’S NEWS–
I can’t help myself, every time I hone connecting rods I laugh, and today was no different.
Because…..some years ago we hired a young man to work at our motorcycle shop. He was fresh out of MMI, and KNEW EVERYTHING!
He bought an old Sportster engine from me, and I told him I’d help him with the rebuild. When it came time to hone the rods he said don’t worry I can handle this, and kind of blew me off.
I told him he better put on the hat that Sunnen provides, because of all the oil that flings around (snicker, snicker), and walked out of the machine shop.
I told my wife to go in and see how he was doing (HAHAHA).
She walked up and asked why in the world he was wearing the bore gauge cover.
He somewhat proudly stated it was to keep oil off of his head, and she replied, I’m sorry but no it’s not.
It’s to keep dirt off of that expensive measuring gauge, ding dong.
Hardy har har!! I love my job.

ACE CAFÉ LONDON & T3 Racing to collaborate on new Motorpoint British Supersport Team– Ace Cafe London teams up with T3 Racing to be the main sponsor of a new Supersport Team in 2013.
The Ace Cafe T3 Racing Team are bringing their bike the ‘Ace Cafe Racer’ to Brands Hatch this weekend for BSB’s opening round, to compete for the very first time.
The ‘Ace Cafe Racer’ is a Triumph Daytona 675R tuned up by the experts at T3 Racing. Owner of T3 Racing and team principal, Tony Scott has commented that the bike is already staggeringly fast: “We’re already as fast as the bike we worked on for Luke Jones last year and we’ve only done half of what we plan to!”
Riding the bike will be Rob Guiver, last year’s Triumph Triple Challenge champion. Guiver won the championship one round before the end of the season and went on to finish almost 90 points ahead of his nearest competitor.
Ace Cafe will also be bringing their hospitality for the nine rounds of British Superbikes that the Triumph Triple Challenge are racing.
T3 Racing and the Ace Cafe London first joined together to build the Ace 904S Thruxton Special back in 2009. Mark Wilsmore, director at the Ace Cafe London and initiator of the Ace Cafe Reunion, spoke about why they decided to work with T3 Racing on these projects:
“The collaboration with T3 Racing began with the Ace 904S Thruxton Special and the reason that came about is because T3 Racing know Triumphs! This year being the Cafe’s 75th anniversary we decided to revive our racing heritage – we love speed, we love racing and it has to be Triumphs, so it has to be T3.”
Tony Scott, who also organises the Triumph Triple Challenge race series, commented on how the relationship began:
“The Ace Cafe is an iconic brand with a clear link to Triumph Motorcycles in its history. We already new the Ace well through our cooperation on the 904S and they are good people to work with, when the opportunity presented itself to join with them we needed no persuasion. We have been racing at BSB in Stock and Supersport for the past two years now and have never failed to finish in the top two of our chosen championship, I feel confident that this alliance will bring a fresh team and a great vibe to the BSB paddock.”
This weekend the Ace Cafe T3 Racing team will compete for the first time in the British Supersport series at Round 1 of British Superbikes.

MICORSOFT WINDOWS vs. FORD–For all of us who feel only the deepest love and affection for the way computers have enhanced our lives, read on.
At a recent computer expo (COMDEX), Bill Gates reportedly compared the computer industry with the auto industry and stated,
“If Ford had kept up with technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving $25 cars that got 1,000 miles to the gallon.”
In response to Bill’s comments, Ford issued a press release stating:
If Ford had developed technology like Microsoft, we would all be driving cars with the following characteristics (and I just love this part):
1. For no reason whatsoever, your car would crash………twice a day.
2.. Every time they repainted the lines in the road, you would have to buy a new car.
3… Occasionally your car would die on the freeway for no reason. You would have to pull to the side of the road, close all of the windows, shut off the car, restart it, and reopen the windows before you could continue.
For some reason you would simply accept this.
4…. Occasionally, executing a maneuver such as a left turn would cause your car to shut down and refuse to restart, in which case you would have to reinstall the engine.
5….. Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, was reliable, five times as fast and twice as easy to drive – but would run on only five percent of the roads.
6…… The oil, water temperature, and alternator warning lights would all be replaced by a single “This Car Has Performed An Illegal Operation”
warning light.
I love the next one!!!
7……. The airbag system would ask, “Are you sure?” before deploying.
8…….. Occasionally, for no reason whatsoever, your car would lock you out and refuse to let you in until you simultaneously lifted the door handle, turned the key and grabbed hold of the radio antenna.
9……… Every time a new car was introduced car buyers would have to learn how to drive all over again because none of the controls would operate in the same manner as the old car.
10………. You’d have to press the “Start” button to turn the engine off.
PS – I’d like to add that when all else fails, you could call “customer service” in some foreign country and be instructed in some foreign language how to fix your car yourself!!!!
Please share this with your friends who love –
but sometimes hate – their computer!

Legends and Heroes to Honor 1975 Supercross Champion Steve Stackable “Stacks” to be honored at round 13 of Monster Energy AMA Supercross in Houston–This week, as Monster Energy AMA Supercross racing resumes, the Legends and Heroes Tour is back in action as well! This week’s stop is Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas, and the Supercross hero to be honored is Texas local, Steve Stackable.
Steve Stackable first began racing motorcycles in Texas in the late ’60s. Soon after starting his career by dominating the novice class right out of the gate, “Stacks” went looking for a new challenge. Stackable and his mechanic, Ricky Lloyd, loaded up their van and headed east to race a round of the highly competitive AMA Winter Motocross series. Amazingly, he won there too – but this time in the expert class. Steve was a natural, and by 1973, he started showing up on the podium at the majority of the AMA Nationals and the Trans-AMA events with the help of U.S. Sports. This success drew attention from the Maico factory, and in 1974, with a factory-supported ride, Stackable managed to finish third in the 500cc Nationals behind Jimmy Weinert and Tony DiStefano, earning him a full factory ride with Maico.
Stackable returned the favor in full by giving Maico the best year of his career – 1975 – winning the 500cc class of the AMA Supercross Championship, which then led him to an even more lucrative contract with Suzuki for 1976. While Stackable came up short for the ’76 title behind a wild-eyed kid named Bob Hannah, he placed third in both the 250cc and 500cc Outdoor National classes. Steve continued to race until the early 80’s when he retired. Today “Stacks” is an accomplished tandem hang-gliding and paragliding instructor and an avid moto fan.
Many thanks to Cogdell Law, Rio Bravo MX, Bill Kasson, Team Cramp and The Old School MX Reunion Team for their support of the Legends and Heroes Tour and their contributions that allowed Steve to attend the Houston round.

PRINTABLE FIREARMS IN AUSTRALIA–
Australian anti-gun activists are urging action to shutdown a controversial project to produce fully printable firearms and threat “to put a gun in the hands of every citizen.”
Defense Distributed http://defensedistributed.com/ is behind the operation to manufacture the world’s first fully printable, mostly plastic gun using basic three-dimensional printers which today cost as little as $1000.
The American company began testing its printed parts for a semi-automatic AR-15 rifle in December and have so far found its 30-round magazines can last 100 bullets before beginning to wear.
It will release its complete designs for free online.
Gun-control advocates worldwide fear online access to a gun’s design plans will lead people to illegally build their own firearm on a 3D printer and fire it minutes later.
Roland Brown of Gun Control Australia said he feared organized crime would seize on the technology and labeled the project a “grave threat” to public safety.
Semi-automatic AR-15 rifles were used in the recent Sandy Hook Elementary School and Aurora cinema massacres, which together killed a total of 38 people.
Such weapons are highly restricted in Australia. In most states, licensing for semi-automatic weapons is limited to people involved in the military, the police or large-scale pest control.
AR-15 rifles use standard hunting and military cartridges. “The ammunition is not impossible to get a hold of in Australia,” Mr Brown said.
“If people here can manufacture these guns in their backyards it’s a disturbing development.
“It’s the American gun lobby’s ideology to put a gun in the hands of every citizen and it’s finding its way to Australia.”
He said there was a “deafening silence” from government and pro-gun lobby Sporting Shooters’ Association of Australia (SSAA), who should be urging their American counterparts to “pull Defense Distributed into line”.
“There needs to be a loud voice in Australia … to shut this operation down,” he said.
But SSAA spokesman Tim Bannister brushed off community safety concerns and objected to taking action.
“I don’t think it’s any of our business what happens in America,” Mr Bannister said.
“It’s clever, it’s fascinating … but of course it’s totally illegal. A printed gun is probably not the most dangerous thing they (criminals) could use because it’s going to break after a few shots and they’re going to injure themselves.”
Mr Bannister said he did not believe the designs could be perfected because plastic would not withstand the gas pressures to push a projectile.
But Defense Distributed founder Cody Wilson said he was confident they would achieve their goal.
“It comes down to math, really,” Mr Wilson said.
“There are critical thicknesses of some of these materials that can withstand the explosive force. Just a matter of sitting down and doing it.”
A spokeswoman for Minister for Home Affairs Jason Clare declined to say whether the Federal Government would raise matters with American authorities. “What it does show more generally is how important it is for regulations and laws to keep pace with technological change,” she said.

THERE YOU HAVE IT—That’s all the news that’s fit to print. I need to dive into the shop and get to work on my Mudflap baby. Just need to fix that hiccup and I’m good to go for some long rides.
Next week I will cover the Mudflap Girl mods in a massive tech touching on the Crane ignition, Centramatic balancers, Digital Dawg ignition systems, PM grips and pegs, etc.
I have a bike feature from Peter Linney, one of the Ultimate Builder Winners, and more content is growing in the wings. I need to find out what Agent Zebra has up his sleeves for Bikernet Readers.
And I’m hoping for some techs from MetalSport Wheels.
In the meantime, let’s have some fun and find a new redhead for the Headquarters. I’m going to jump back into the shop, test my mechanical abilities and hopefully go for a ride.
Ride Forever,
–Bandit
