WILDCARD SUNDAY POST for January 6, 2013

Hey,

I started on the 2013 list last week, but that’s not all. I am still involved in the MRF Industry Council, workouts, TV, and Movie efforts. We have an Australian Water Separator to test and a grant effort for the study of Freedom. And I still want to learn music. Plus, a large goal surrounds relaxing. How’s it all possible?

We want to create a once a week lunch getaway, creative confab. We need to escape the headquarters and ride to lunch locally, and relax. There’s a problem. All the toys, discussion items, and space is right here. Plan B: We need to ride to the top of the mountain for a moment of spiritual reflection, then jam back to the headquarters where we will be met by a big titted, smiling Mexican girl with a platter of steaming hot tacos and iced Coronas. What could be better?

So kick the above around and let me know your thoughts. There must be a way. I’m reading a book, Go Like Hell, by A.J. Baime about Formula 1 racing, and the car business in the ‘50s. It’s an amazing book. Ford held the car market for years, then almost lost it, because of the old man, and his all-black cars, sort of like Indian motorcycle in the ‘40s. Staying on top of the game is tough. “It was survival of the fastest,” according to Ferrari.

Let’s hit the news, and then I’ll share some of Ferrari’s secrets to success:

REDEMPTION COMING TO BIKERNET–
Redemption is a religious concept referring to forgiveness or absolution for past sins or errors and protection from damnation and disgrace, eternal or temporary, generally through sacrifice. Redemption is common in many world religions, including Indian religions and all Abrahamic religions, especially in Christianity and Islam.

In Judaism, redemption refers to God redeeming the Israelites from their various exiles. This includes the final redemption from the present exile.

As a Christian theological term, redemption refers to the deliverance of Christians from sin. It assumes an important position, however, only when the ills in question form part of a great system against which human power is helpless.

In Buddhist theology it encompasses a release from worldly desires.

IN LAW: The right of redemption, in the law of real property, is the right of a debtor whose real property has been foreclosed upon and sold to reclaim that property if they are able to come up with the money to repay the amount of the debt. Most U.S. states have a statutory provision that allows such a reclamation of property.

At Big Bear Choppers Redemption is a new model, and tomorrow we will blast to San Bernardino to pick up this puppy for road testing and tech installations. Hang on as we pray for Big Bear Redemption, while blasting over the congested Los Angeles rugged roads, highways, and teaming freeways. We will bring you all the reports.

BIKERNET MOVIE PRODUCTION COMPANY–
My girlfriend and I were making love when she looked up at me and said, “Make love to me like in the movies.” So I turned her over on all fours, stuck it in her ass, pulled out, flipped her back over and came all over her face and hair.

I never saw her again after that night. I guess we don’t watch the same movies.

HOT NEW BIKERNET READER COMMENT–

ROARING NEW YEARS THURSDAY NEWS FOR JANUARY 3, 2013

http://www.bikernet.com/pages/story_detail.aspx?id=10846

To whom it may concern,
In regards to ” COLUMBINE STUDENT’S FATHER 12 YEARS LATER!” read this:
http://www.snopes.com/politics/guns/scott.asp

I’m for truth, not truth in fiction. What you have printed is not the total truth. You really should investigate what you’re printing as fact more throughly, as this is not the first time that you have done this.

I’m not nit picking, I’m only trying to make sure the truth stays alive in this horrific event. The way to win this is by sticking to facts and truth, and not muddling it with fiction.

2013 WEASEL USA RUN–
***It’s time for a gathering of Weasels to help celebrate with the Agoura Originals. We will be celebrating the birth of the Weasels right here in Agoura Hills, CA. at one of the original Weasel watering holes “The Simi Valley Moose Lodge”.

Notice the date, the “23” of March. We are putting together a sharp Poker Run through the Malibu/Agoura Mtns along the coast up through Ojai with many cool stops along the way at some old Weasel Watering holes (including the Wheel, Neptunes Net and the Rock Store).

We have several great bands playing headlined by a Weasel favorite “Fire & Wheels” featuring our own Dave Channell #5. Also to be performing is our own “Beatnik” Steve Werner playing some of his own Biker Campfire Songs. We have a 3rd band to be confirmed and announced in a later update.

We will have Special 20 Year Weasel Anniversary Run shirts and commemorative 16 oz Weasel beer glasses. Patches are also in the works. I am buying a keg of beer for Weasels with there Orange shirts on to drink for free or until the keg runs out… There will also be food from the grill available to purchase.

As far as places to stay for the out of towners, we will have free camping(trailors, RV’s & tents) available at the Moose Lodge and you are also more than welcome to crash & shower at my little shack (and I do mean little). Just bring a sleeping bag and you can also set up a tent in the yard if you wish. There is also a hotel within 10 minutes of the Moose Lodge that Torch, Clean Dean and other Arizona & San Diego Weasels will be staying at.

The Moose Lodge also has all facilities including a pool. It’s located in a very nice piece of land and is very biker friendly as a local Weasel manages the place and will doing the grilling. Other arrangements can also be made.

“NOTE”: this is just a first draft and more info to come as us locals sort out the details. Please feel free to ask any and all questions or forever hold your??? This is sure to be a good time so mark your calendars. We are also making plans for a Friday night get together and a Sunday send off for the out of towners.

If any of you have any questions please feel free to contact me or Kit for further information…

Our first Sunday post in 2013 and far from the last, Happy New Year!

2012 was a roller coaster ride from the start to finish. This year, seeking a little more balance in all aspects of my journey through life. So far, so good and the best is yet to come. With at least one new grandchild on the way with a guesstimated ETA of early June. Then all 3 sons arrive at Bonneville to witness a fine tuned contender chompin’ at the bit waiting on the green flag to fly. Life is going fast so hang on tight and stay tuned for all of the news on Bikernet.

5-Ball Racing Team Report

Here’s a few of the vital statistics on the Raycer build list for our entry into the 3000 cc- APS-PBF (fuel), (Altered Partial Streamlined-pushrod blown fuel/gas), 3000 cc- APS-PBG (gas) class for the 2013 season.

Measurements, 4 1/8-inch Stroke x 4 5/8 Bore, 124 Inch. Twin Cam S&S Cycle cases, S&S Cycle .640 gear drive cams, D/T 3 Stage Oil Pump, R&R Cycle Cam Support, R&R Cycle/Hyperformance engineered, Turbo Charger (Aerocharger Series 66). R&R Cycle handled the breathing department with a set of Stage 5 Billet Heads, E T Krank Vents, Crane Roller Rockers, Screamin Eagle Lifters, our fuel system was designed by Dan Thayer of (www.vtwinfuelinjection.com) utilizing two fuel filters with the fuel pump coupled between the filters. Rick Tedder of R/T performance modified the air plenum and fabricated the fuel block mounted on the air plenum while I drilled and tapped the inlet on the Horsepower Inc. 62 mm throttle body for the flow through fuel system. The 9.5 to 1 compression CP Pistons pump the air with the Turbo boost set at 8 pounds for initial testing. The engine is designed to hold 18 pounds of boost. Very mild mannered and predictable while you squeeze the trigger opening the variable vanes in the Aerocharger. There is no such thing as Turbo Lag with an Aerocharger.

This same combination set at 8 pounds of boost on the street, mounted on my ‘04 Dyno showed less than 60% throttle, 95% of the recorded time in the Daytona Twin Tech computer. Only 60% of the throttle entering the 101 South onramp after clicking into second gear at 60% carried the front wheel with ease. Catching the traffic was way to easy and the hot rod Dyna averaged over 40 mpg. We added a fresh Series 66 Aerocharger to a well seasoned 75,000 mile, 124 inch engine. Pulls on the dyno at Hardtailz in San Jose showed over 165 HP with higher spikes, same torque and the Dyna was jumping off of the Dyno at 60% throttle while distorting the Storz front end. We backed off the throttle and hit the highway. Some 5,000 miles later, and the engine was blowing the head gaskets out.

The information learned on my Bonneville record setting Dyna was noted and we duplicated with fresh parts, with the possible exception of the throttle body, pushrod tubes and the intake manifold.

Brad Beach, Beach Racing installing a 6-speed Jim’s Machine in a Polished Road King style, Sharp Eye Jim, STD transmission case. The Inner Primary is a heavily modified STD with a bigger bearing on the transmission shaft. The Outer primary is also a heavy duty STD unit.

We installed a Compu Fire Charging system, a Spyke starting system w/remote button, Fisher Harmonic Balancer, Rivera Prime Pro Clutch w/Lock Up Unit, early teflon adjuster shoe with a Tsubaki Primary Chain.

The chassis started life in Jim Bartletts shop in Beaverton, Oregon in the form of 2 pieces of frame tubing Jim pre-bent a few years back for an idea we sketched on the shop floor with a freshly sharpened piece of soapstone. Time and direction changed and here we are today.

Once the frame tubing arrived at the R/T Performance shop in Salem, OR, Rick clamped the pieces to the precision frame table for a look. After a couple of days of deep thought, well used tools in hand and the magic commenced resulting in a one off frame created with a purpose and destination in mind. Destination, street for seat time and initial shake down, The Mojave Mile in April or May with August targeted for The Bonneville Salt Flats.

The chassis and body work details will hit the news in the up coming weeks.

On todays short to do list is wheels, Lyndall Racing composite rotors, shift linkage, rear sets, handle bar set-ups (with Barnett custom cables) for the street and track, electrical plugs for the headlight and taillight, Race Tech suspension from axel to axel.

Then we head to the Dyno, attach the license plate and Haul Ass……..

Expected highway time February. This Year!

Stay Tuned!

Haul Ass!
Ride for your Fukin Life!

CATHOLIC COFFEE MORNING IN ROME–
Four Catholic men and a Catholic woman were having coffee in St. Peter’s Square.

The first Catholic man tells his friends, “My son is a priest. When he walks into ?a room, everyone calls him ‘Father’.”

The second Catholic man chirps, “My son is a Bishop. When he walks into a room people call him ‘Your Grace’.”

The third Catholic gent says, “My son is a Cardinal. When he enters a room everyone bows their head and says ‘Your Eminence’.”

The fourth Catholic man says very proudly, “My son is the Pope. When he walks into a room people call him ‘Your Holiness’.”

Since the lone Catholic woman was sipping her coffee in silence, the four men give her a subtle, “Well….?”

She proudly replies, “I have a daughter, SLIM, TALL, 38D BREASTS, 24″ WAIST and 36” HIPS.

When she walks into a room, people say, “Jesus Christ!”

FEINSTEIN’S NEW GUN-BAN BILL LIKELY TO BE INTRODUCED JANUARY 22–Contact your members of Congress and urge them to oppose any “assault weapon” or magazine ban.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.)–author of the federal “assault weapon” and “large” ammunition magazine ban of 1994-2004–has said for weeks that she will soon introduce an even more restrictive bill. Leaders in the U.S. Senate have stated that January 22 will be the first day on which new Senate legislation can be proposed, so that is the most likely date for the new, sweeping legislation to be introduced.

On Dec. 17th, Feinstein said, “I have been working with my staff for over a year on this legislation” and “It will be carefully focused.” Indicating the depth of her research on the issue, she said on Dec. 21st that she had personally looked at pictures of guns in 1993, and again in 2012.

According to a Dec. 27th posting on Sen. Feinstein’s website and a draft of the bill obtained by NRA-ILA, the new ban would, among other things, adopt new definitions of “assault weapon” that would affect a much larger variety of firearms, require current owners of such firearms to register them with the federal government under the National Firearms Act, and require forfeiture of the firearms upon the deaths of their current owners.

I PROMISED FERRARI INSPIRATION–
This is a quote from the book mentioned in the intro: In Jano and Nuvolari, Ferrari had prototypes: an engineering mastermind and a champion pilot. The duo powered the Scuderia Ferrari into the limelight in Italy. During these years “the agitator of men” studied the psychology of winning. Certain principles were self-evident:

1. Competition is the impetus for innovation. The fiercer the competition, the faster cars will go.

2. There is in some men a need to achieve greatness. When matched with talent, this necessity can turn humans into demigods.

3. A man who is willing to die at the wheel is always likely to beat a man in a faster car–if he can survive until the end of the race.

BIKERNET FELINE INVESTIGATION–
Cat used in Brazil prison smuggling. Guards thought there was something suspicious about a little white cat slipping through a prison gate in northeastern Brazil.

A prison official says that when they caught the animal, they found a cellphone, drills, small saws and other contraband taped to its body.

Alagoas state prisons spokeswoman Cinthya Moreno says that the cat was caught New Year’s Eve at the medium-security prison in the city of Arapiraca.

The O Estado de S. Paulo newspaper reported Saturday that all of the prison’s 263 inmates are suspects in the smuggling attempt, though it says a prison spokesman said “It will be hard to discover who is responsible since the cat does not speak.”

THE BIKERNET BLONDE JOKE FILE NOW OPEN–
A ventriloquist is touring Sweden. One night, he’s doing a show in a small fishing town.

With his dummy on his knee, he starts going through his usual dumb blonde jokes.

Suddenly, a blonde woman in the fourth row stands on her chair and starts shouting, “I’ve heard enough of your stupid blonde jokes.
What makes you think you can stereotype Swedish blonde women that way?

What does the colour of a woman’s hair have to do with her worth as a human being?
It’s men like you who keep women like me from being respected at work and in the community, and from reaching our full potential as people. It’s people like you that make others think that all blondes are dumb! You and your kind continue to perpetuate discrimination against, not only blondes, but women in general… pathetically, all in the name of humor!”

The embarassed ventriloquist begins to apologize, and the blonde yells: ” You stay out of this! I’m talking to that little shit on your lap! “

–from Johnnie Gutierrez

HOLY SHIT—It’s a Playoff Wildcard Sunday. And we look to the heavens for a guiding light moving forward.

Life is so strange. Finding clarity, direction, and resources are necessary to make all things happen, and I’m having sort of an epiphany today. I’ve discussed the book I hope to draft this year. It’s about Chance Hogan and a brother riding across the country trying to find Freedom, a place respectful of bikers and choppers.

Last year I met a friend of a friend, who was taking a class in Grant writing. He approached me around writing a grant having to do with motorcycles, and I explained my book concept and how it might take a loud pipe grant effort to a much more serious platform. My mysterious friend has patiently waited for me to create the first draft. We started our discussions toward the end of September, and quickly the months slipped past.

I’m sort of a stickler about projects. I like to see a project completed, but I also know it’s not always possible, which can be a heart breaker. Picking and choosing projects is critical. Ya just can’t run at everything, and then there’s the notion of resources. We don’t have a ton of funds, but we do have the Optimist Creed at our backs, in other words: Never say die! Especially now, almost anything in life is possible, if you are willing to pick up the phone, or open your computer and google your dreams. You’ll find the resources, somehow–just don’t give up.

So, the notion was the study of Freedom in this country through the eyes of a couple of bikers, but it could become something so much more. We needed a team, and I may have found some of the initial players. I know, I might be nuts to take on something of this nature, in addition to our trike project, but what the hell. You only go around once in life. This could be a very special year.

Ride Forever,

–Bandit
